Unfortunately, I have to write a negative review. I really hate to hurt locally owned businesses but it’s almost been a year now. This company never completely finished my kitchen. I called 7+ times for them to schedule to come back and finish up the job. They will schedule but never come. I even had a family member (who doesn’t work) help me schedule and plan to meet them at my house. After, 4 times being scheduled, rearranging my kitchen and preparing they never show up!! It’s so disappointing to spend thousands of dollars for a job incomplete. The young lady that works and answers phones is terrible, rude and absolutely no follow thru. I’m now going to hire a better local company to come finish this job. Always remember you should take care of your customers from start to finish. You have to have time built in your day/week to finish jobs. Do not tell your customers that it depends on the morning installation, we’ll try or whatever. I will now be putting reviews everywhere I possibly can to help other people in the community avoid dealing with the problems and double paying for a kitchen. Very unhappy with your business.

Our experience with Minami is outstanding. They did a great job with our kitchen countertop, very professional, puntual, afable, educated and their priced are the best. Later they did the bar countertop snd we had the same experience with them. I highly recommend them!

We researched several counter-top companies from The Villages and surrounding area. Not one could come close to matching the selection and pricing of Minami. The installation was perfect, clean and neat and the craftsmanship was the best I have ever seen. The staff from start to finish made the process easy to do. I highly recommend them.

We shopped granite from Tampa to Gainesville when we built our home in 2013. Not only did Minami have a great selection of beautiful granite, we found them to be very professional and reasonably priced. We wanted a waterfall counter design in our 9ft island....and that is exactly what we got. Since then, weve purchased granite 2 other times and found them to be the best. While my wife is sometimes impatient, it is well worth the wait (if there is one) for Minami. We know it will be done right the first time.

Really unhappy with the manner this company does business. I called and was given a phone estimate based on the model of our home. It turned out to be a significantly lower cost than anyone who visited my home. When I called back to schedule an appointment for some one to come out and give a firm written estimate, I was told I have to put down a deposit first before anyone would come out to the house. This may be their way they do business, but it is not mine.

Once again another outstanding job and ahead of schedule. Their customer service and care they take to do the job is amazing.

I have been trying to have my kitchen counters redone for two months now. The company has scheduled one appointment with me to take the template, yet nobody showed, then I was told they would call me to reschedule, yet nobody called back. Then I called again to schedule, appointment was reconfirmed the day before, yet nobody showed up again. Minami used to have a great reputation, but sadly the current operation is not what it used to be....

Friends as well as our contractor recommended we visit Minami Granite and are we glad we listened. Professional treatment throughout and the selection of materials and colors was fantastic. We found exactly what we were looking for and MGD set up an appointment to come out within a week. The gentleman showed up on time, obviously knew what he was doing, and then came back for the actual install with two other men just as conscientious and careful as he was. The result is beautiful beyond our wildest expectations and all our friends who have already seen the results agree. Since we still have other contractors doing additional work in our kitchen, I will post pictures as soon as the job as complete. A plus was that the initial estimate was based on slightly smaller measurements as we decided to add 12 to go over the counter stools and added a tray cabinet at the end of one section. We expected to be charged for the difference in area covered, but the bill remained the same. Again, we highly recommend MGD for any granite, quartz, or any other stonework you need done.

We highly recommend Minami Granite Designs: they went the extra mile to make us smile.Minami Granite Designs (MGD) is a family company who keeps their promises: they provided us quality materials, great workmanship, and excellent service.Three months after MGD installed our granite counters and fireplace surround, I am still excited to go into the kitchen each morning to enjoy the granite’s patterns and colors, and appreciate the workmanship and attention to detail that went into making our kitchen and fireplace almost unique.Every stage of the process - from initial inquiry and design through installation - went smoothly. Elizabeth, Jessica and the rest of the Minami team answered calls and emails promptly and kept on-time appointments. When we couldn’t decide on a granite slab from the on-site Minami collection, Elizabeth asked us what we liked and disliked about the selection, then directed us to a warehouse with even more granite - there we found slabs that were almost exactly what we had been trying to describe.The installation price Minami quoted based on the initial kitchen measurements was comparable to other companies and we appreciated that every cost was quoted up front, there were no hidden extras. Minami sent a team to template the kitchen and fireplace: we were impressed that Mr. Minami himself came to advise and supervise.Due to the beautiful variations in our granite slabs, Elizabeth invited us to participate in the sink and stove top placements, and in choosing which granite patterns would be featured on the breakfast bar, island, and peninsula. Elizabeth was SO patient, and we really appreciated being included in the decision making process, however her aesthetic sense in optimizing the design and the pattern to match our surface area was far more professional than we could have suggested. Trust Elizabeth’s judgement!MGD fitted the granite installation into our house moving timeframe, and did EVERYTHING in one day! The counter design had as few joints as possible to ensure that the patterns flowed naturally, and it was impressive to see Luis and his guys work as a team to move enormous pieces of granite into place. They cut the stove top and sink hole on site making a surprisingly small amount of dust… which they cleaned up without being asked :-) While one team worked on installing the sink/stovetop, and finishing/sealing the kitchen counters, another team installed the fireplace and hearth. The workmanship was impressive, and their good attitudes were really appreciated. When they were finished, the installation team gave us a lovely square block of granite that we now use as a pizza-rolling slab.After everything was installed, we loved Minami’s work so much that we requested a special type of high backsplash for the stove area, we preferred their granite art to the tile we had planned. I wasn’t sure there was enough granite left in the size we needed, so we expected to have a jigsaw pattern or a piece of granite that somewhat matched. We were surprised and delighted a few weeks later when Minami’s team presented us with a one-piece backsplash that was the perfect size AND matched the counter top flow of color and pattern perfectly. Not sure how they did this, but we really appreciate how they went the extra mile to make it happen.Minami’s granite installation flows from the counter area around and up the back of the sink, onto the breakfast bar, then draws your eye to the fireplace the other side of the family room. The way the colors flow it looks as though one continuous piece of granite was used for these sections, but it is really very clever design work by Elizabeth and her team and quality installation by Luis and his team. It’s like living and working in an art gallery: each area of the kitchen has unique granite highlight features that make cooking – or just hanging out by the tea kettle – a beautiful experience. Drove to Ocala Saturday morning, hours posted on line, on their office window and on their answering machine are 9 -12. After waiting an hour to see if they were going to show up, left and found another place that was actually opened as advertised
