I honestly have never purchased a vehicle on my own. I am a 23 year old single mom with minimal knowledge when it comes to purchasing a good car for my kids and myself for school and work purposes. Brandon did beyond an amazing job making me feel comfortable and told me things to always be on the look out when looking for a car along with making it feel not obligated to buy from him, which is RARE when you go to a dealership! I recommend this as they were very understanding to my own schedule to talk and worked with many to find the best bank to help with further payments without stretching too far from my comfort zone as though it was their own personal goal. I had a great experience. I worked with Jack Kraemer in sales and Bill who is one of the dealerships financial managers. We handled most of the business over the phone which only took about two days (mind you I live 10 hours away from the dealership). I figured since I was so far away they wouldnt think I was serious about my inquiry however, it was the complete opposite. We were straight to business right away, they had an offer for my trade in and what my monthly payments would look like in less than 24 hours. I had a wonderful experience at the Van Horn in Oconomowoc. I filed for bankruptcy in 2020 and my credit score was 529. I needed a reliable car and had little to no money to put down. I went to Van Horn’s website, found a couple of cars within my price range and sent in an inquiry. The next day I received a call from a salesman named Greg S. I explained to him my financial history and my doubts about being approved for financing. I told him how much I could afford each month and within a few days, Greg found me the perfect car. I didn’t spend hours at the dealership and we did almost everything over the phone. Greg made the process of buying a car, so simple. I walked in, test drove the car and signed papers. I was in and out within an hour and a half. If your looking for a smooth, painless buying a car experience, I would call up Van Horn and ask for Greg. Full disclosure — I absolutely HATE cars and I loathe the experience of buying/leasing. I recently had a lease that was about to expire, but because of a variety of issues, I was having a hard time figuring out what to do next. Moreover, I didn’t have the time to figure it out. THANKFULLY, Jake Knight at Van Horn in Oconomowoc to the rescue! He and his associates were unbelievably patient and flexible with me. From my perspective, he went above and beyond what I would have expected and I am incredibly grateful for his kindness and appreciation for all I was going through in my personal life. Unless youre sitting on the showroom floor trying to buy a truck anything you do online doesnt seem to matter. I tried to buy a truck online from this dealership. I entered my personal information and my trade information. I was under the impression that I was working to close a sale. I expressed that I wanted to purchase this truck and we played some phone tag while I was looking to have some questions answered. They sold that truck during this process and I felt let down and mislead. I left a different review of one star but agreed to delete it after a conversation with a manager. That manager seemed to care about this review and was trying to explain the online sales process. That process could have been better explained from the beginning so I had accurate expectations. They offered to help me find a different truck to their credit but Im still unhappy. I just wanted to share my experience and move on to a different dealership that can communicate better.
