Thought I needed new rotors. Service guy told me to flush the brakes first. Took his advice - and he was right. Also got a free blinker bulb and oil change because my wait time was long. Very professional - completely satisfied with my experience and will continue to use them for my car maintenance. Thank you!

Not gonna lie when I was messaged that they was gonna reschedule the appointment it upset me but thanks to the service manager and the dedication of the service shop team they kept the appointment and took care of my car. Take it one step further the gentleman who answered my questions appointment arrival and during service also let me know when the tech found something out side the service that needed addressed and it gave me the ability to have them take care of it tho I may not agree with the amount of the cost of service I am pleased to know there are still helpful people in the world. Well the first appt I got there finally after speaking to advisor prior to tell him issues car started having like knocking he said drive I broke down then 2nd appt after I fixed the issue of not starting myself then finally get there after having to pull over several times cause car didn’t respond and had leaky valve stem just to be told 2 weeks I would need to be back couldn’t look at car until then so then after all kinds of trouble still with car and knock getting worse every day I almost pull up check engine light on they run diagnostic and say car is fine no recall code came up two weeks later driving down highway car jerks or something end check engine light flashing I put in neutral got it off highway and parked had my mobile mechanic come run diagnostic and the recall code for engine replacement pops up now no car no rental and have no idea if they are still going to replace engine but it’s three weeks before I can get into any hyundai
Service is normally good, reasonable wait time for services. Only complaint I have is multiple times I have went in for routine service only to have McCarthy send discount coupons that arrive after having the service completed, so they arent applied or used. Ive used this same dealership for service and buying vehicles since 2004 they cant send or email these discounts sooner or when actually car is brought in? So wast able to take advantage of anything, even the free car wash, so much for worthless discount offers.
The entire engine of our car was replaced under a warranty! This took quite a while, but was done with great quality and professionalism!

When I scheduled the appointments I asked how long it would take to do the work since I was waiting. They told me 1 1/2 hours. It was exactly that long. I was impressed!
First time there & my car had a long list of things that quit working. I had a 2:00pm appointment, the very nice looking young man, 22, helped me get checked in at the service desk, I had prepared myself for an all afternoon of watching TV in their brake room, but after only 1 1/2 hours, my car was fixed & ready to go! As to the nice looking 22yr old, I told him what a wonderful & professional & courteous job he had done, he graciously said “thank you very much, I have only worked here for two months and I really appreciate you saying that.” I told him to start climbing the ladder & with his infectious disposition, he could manage the whole place someday!
Grant & Mike are great advisors! They are very kind & courteous and know what they are talking about. Both of them provided exceptional service! Chris was the technician who worked on my car. He didn’t leave any kind of a mess behind and seemed to know what he was doing. Had my car fixed very quickly! 10/10 would highly recommend for you service needs. Definitely going to be going back in the future.
Overall, the experience was fine, although I did have to return and wait 90 minutes while a rubbing sound was addressed which was apparently the result of a part not being properly installed during the initial repair. It would have been nice to be offered a discount on future repairs or a complimentary oil change for the inconvenience. I was thanked for bringing my car back in, but since I was preparing to leave on a four hour car trip, I don’t think I had much choice.

Left many voicemails as well as calls and questions to avoid my loosing free services offered, nothing. Lost them all and rather than a sympathetic customer service experience, i was told that I should just call my news service area to help. Not one call back even after I called and complained, this company only cares during my sell after that not one person, email or call. Sad sad sad
The service department wasnt very friendly when I arrived. No one greeted me,I stood there probably 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. One rep was helping someone else, the other just walked by and didnt say anything he just stood and watched the other guy. I had a 9:45 appointment he told it would be 1 1/2 hours even with an appointment.

I think they are short handed and overworked. No one available to answer the phone. They are super friendly and I would recommend them for any female/person who has had trouble dealing with auto service providers. They dont treat you like an uninformed person. They take your observations and questions seriously.
The service department was calling to get the repair authorization regularly. Once they have received the authorization, they havent called and provided any regular updates. After the service, they havent cleaned my car. the cut/old belt was in my passenger seat and the car electronic systems were reset and the time was showing 8:40 instead of 1:40 PM. Some of my radio stations have been changed (if all changed, then i can agree that there may be reset to the radio). Also, they need to have more people (sales/service advisor) at the front desk as we need to simply wait for 30 minutes to talk to that person.It was pricier than other workshops but we thought that we will get original parts and professional work but kind of disappointed.
Went in to have my shifter checked, paid the diagnosis fee and was told that shifter wasnt moving due to something spilling down to the shift area (claim), so they said tech cleaned out and bill came to $375..next day, same problem still existed, returned to the dealer the next time they were open, know they said it is a different problem which will cost 420+ (feel I was ripped off for the money I paid for problem that wasnt fixed)...overpriced service and poor diagnosis by tech. Customer service is good.
The Customer Service guy who helped me was amazing. I signed up for an oil change, a tire rotation, and wheel balance. I was to drop my car off at 10:15am. I dropped it off by that time and upon dropping I talked to the employee about what time pickup needed to be and since I had an appointment that evening and needed my car, I needed to pick it up before 3:30pm and it was supposed to be done by then. While setting up a pickup time, the employee told me about two recalls on my car and said that they would take a look at it. I handed the keys over and left to go run some errands. I got back at 3:20 and my car didn’t get pulled back for the oil change until 3:25 and the employee talked to me and apologized profusely on being behind (his manager was on vacation and the second oil change guy had to leave due to family reasons and it was only one guy, who I do not have any problems with, which I understood completely) but then told me that all they got to was the oil change. This is the part that got to me.. They didn’t pull my car at any time in those 5 hours to do the tire rotation, wheel balance, or recall check, while waiting on the oil change. So, I never got everything that I had scheduled to be done. I gave 4 stars because of the customer service employee and that my oil did get changed, but I wasn’t the most satisfied with the whole experience, just those two things.
I took my car in for an oil change a couple weeks ago for an appointment I scheduled almost a week in advance. The oil change was set for 8:30am. I arrived on time. They told me it would be done at 1pm and that they would call me when it was complete. 1 seemed like a long time for a scheduled oil change with no other services, but fortunately I was not working that day. So I left with my mother to run a couple errands, planning to be back at the shop at 1. However, I did not receive a call, so I called and they said “it shouldn’t be much longer — we will call you when it’s finished.” I called again at 2 and it still wasn’t finished. I called again at 3 and they said “yeah, it’s here waiting for you.” They did not notify me when it was complete, and I wouldn’t have known had I not called. I can’t imagine what I would have done if I had work that day — there’s no way my work would have been okay with me missing an entire day for an 8:30am scheduled oil change. I was not impressed and will likely go somewhere else in the future.
Had my auto for almost six months for a engine recall, did not keep me informed what was going on, when I called they would tell me a different story. When I finally went to pick up my auto they wanted to charge me for a new battery, they had my auto for six months and did not move from where they parked it, I went back monthly, it was always in the same place. When I did pick it up they did not wash the auto and the inside light on the ceiling of the auto was laying on the passenger seat, when asked why, Mike told me they had a mechanic there, but no longer worked for them. I do not understand why the light was down and that was a dumb reason. They blamed the Hyundai company for taking so long.

I dropped the car off Sunday Night. They call me Tuesday saying they checked my car in. They said the car was misplaced. The car was right in front od their building.I confirmed the problem. Car would turn off randomly while driving and camera would blink off and on.They said there would be an $89 diagnostic fee, but if we did the work it would be waived.They came back and said we needed a new battery cable and battery. They said most likely the camera would work fine once the battery was replaced. They told me $1100 to fix it. They made it sound like they had to take the engibe out to replace the cable.I agreed to the work.They called when finished and said everything was working but the camera. That would be $800 to replaced. I told them no for now.I go pick up the car and rhey charge me an $89 fee because I didnt do the camera work. However, I just spent $1100. I told them it was a rip off. I signef the paperwork and left.When I get home I see they also charged for an air filter I never asked for and charged me a document management fee and environmental fee.I open the hood to see the work and see that the alternator is right in front, easy to get to.My buddy works for a big collision company. He agredd they ripped me off.This place has a D rating on Better Business Bureau for a reason. I should of checked prior.
The people at McCarthy Hyundai genuinely care about you as a customer and service your vehicle likewise. I will be returning as I feel this group of people are willing to inform you of best practices for taking care of your vehicle and their attention to detail. After talking to Grant about a previous experience at another dealership he was immediately able to tell me why I was running low on oil, so he then took a quick look under the hood and also found that my recall that was taken care of at the other dealership had not actually been done. The techs got it fixed and sent me a video walkthrough of the engine components showing me what needed to be replaced, what didnt, and what will be topped off. Very informative, transparent, and other automotive places should follow their lead.
Took my vehicle in for a transmission repair and oil change. It took two weeks to complete the repair and was told the car would be ready on a Monday and then changed to tuesday and then changed to Wednesday. Picked the car up and within 24 hours the check engine light came on and the car lost power because the technician didn’t install a hose correctly. Took it back and was told they couldn’t get to it until the following week. Pressed the service manager to get to it immediately and they did. The next day on the way to Texas the hose came off again in the middle or our trip. Service manager apologized and blamed it on new people and offered a free oil change. Would wait to use them again once they get their stuff together. One of the worst experiences I have ever had with a car dealership
Engine overheated light repeatedly displayed with rapid fire dinging. Git the car to dealership. Cant drive it. Have to wait 7-10 days for them to do any diagnostics. No loaner vehicles available due to the chip shortage.
Great dealership to get your maintenance work done. Was at Shawnee Hyundai for a while and switched. Wait times are minimal and the work is done well. Prices could be a little more affordable for some of the small things, but you can do them yourself if your handy. They have not let me down yet.
Oil change and tire rotation went well. I especially liked the video they sent me detailing the thorough inspection of my vehicle while waiting for the service to be completed. This is a new process as part of the service they provide. Keeps the service call transparent to the customer. Keep doing the video inspection. Its a great addition for the customer and the service department. Other dealerships should use this tool as well.

Facilities were dated and basic. Friendly and competent service though. I would prefer a Genesis specific facility but they are not common yet.

We can not be any more grateful for Grant and his team at McCarthy Hyundai! They were honest, sent us a descriptive video of what needed to be repaired and were on time. Grant went out of his way to also check on an issue with our paint and got our roof repainted through Hyundai. We will not be taking our car elsewhere when it comes to major repairs. This was my first time having my car serviced at McCarthy Hyundai, and I had a great experience. I had a factory recall that was performed as well as an oil change. I loved how they did a video of the inspection and sent that over. They suggested my tires be replaced (which they quoted me for) as well as some other minor things but no pressure to do it with them or day of. They gave me a coupon to get my car washed which was very needed! Staff was kind and all in all an easy process.
I purchased my vehicle at McCarthy Hyundai. This time when I went back for a few maintenance/repairs, I was pleasantly surprised with some of the features of service appointments. They text you with updates on your repairs and they send you a video of when and what they are looking at! If I had any questions or needed to chime in, I could just text them. They are quick and helpful. I was a little inconvenienced when their internet wasnt working, as I was trying to work while waiting, but hopefully that was just a problem that particular day.
Dirty Facility Staff was clearly overwhelmed w the volume of service. Facility is old and is in dire need of updating. Bottom Line Short staffed. Bad facility. The guys were nice but the facility is a dumpster fire.

I have had nothing but good experiences overall, and the gentlemen who sold me my car here, truly wanted to find the right car for me. Bianca is the one who scheduled my first oil change here after getting my new car, she is also extremely helpful & responsive. Very happy I bought my car at McCarthy.
My first Haundai. I have preferred Lexus mostly. First service since purchased in January. Friendly and informative staff. One feature I really appreciated was the video inspection. Shows what being done and rated to repair. I was very happy with the service. IAm enjoying my new Sonata.One thing I missed was the car wash with service. That was a nice personal plus of Lexus owners that Haundai might want to consider.Overall - excellent

Plus, a new feature that I absolutely LOVE - I received a text message that contained a video link. The short video was made by the technician who performed my oil change & inspection. He also showed a few additional minor things that I can take car of at my next oil change, but seeing it VS just having it told to me was pretty awesome!

Did a good job overall but left part of the wheel liner loose so I had a lot of rattle when driving and they forgot to change my headlight which I asked them to do! So I had to return for a second visit the did good getting me in and out and charged me for the headlight. All good now!
Love this dealership! Techs are helpful and friendly. They take the time to explain what they are doing and give you the opportunity to decline having a service performed. They dont try to guilt you into purchasing something you dont want.

First off we purchased the BEST extended warranty they offered when we bought the car. We’ve used it once before this. The AC would not blow cold on the drivers side. They said that the crazy expensive extended warranty we purchased just happened to not cover that. Ok. Fine. Dropped it off Weds. It was supposed to be done Thursday and we didn’t get the car back til Tuesday. We had no update as of Friday afternoon so we called and they acted like they had NO IDEA if they had our car or not. The lady asked if we were sure we took it to Olathe. YES! Finally they figured it out and called us on Saturday saying it wouldn’t be ready til Monday because the part hadn’t delivered. They offered a loaner car which we picked up Saturday. On Monday they called saying that the tech working on our vehicle was attending a funeral that day and he didn’t know that until Monday (yeah...ok). It was finally ready Tuesday. Had to spend $459 to repair AC even though we spent THOUSANDS on their warranty. Do not recommend them for service.
My order came quickly and I was notified right away that it was ready for pickup. Got to the dealership and they tended to my needs promptly and courteously.
Excellent service. I especially liked the video the service tech recorded as he did a general inspection of the car. I was able to view the inspection from the customer waiting area.

About a week before Christmas Day I brought my car in for an oil change and left it at the shop while I got a ride back home to continue working for the day. I planned to pick up my car when I got off of work. I received a call from Hyundai stating that I need a couple things done like 2 belts were wearing down and they recommended replacing the belts and my battery failed the battery test.I told them to let me think about it and not make any repairs at that time. A few hours later I receive a second call from Hyundai stating that the threads on my drain plug have been “stripped”. They said that the car was not able to drive and they needed to now replace the oil pan.My car was not leaking oil when I brought it in and anyone can understand that the threads to a drain plug cannot strip on their own. They continued to say that this was wear and tear but were unable to provide evidence of that in the maintenance book when asked.I have gotten free oil changes at the dealership since I first got the car. The free oil changes came with purchasing the vehicle. I have spoken to multiple people that are much more familiar with cars than I am and they all agreed their claim was ludicrous.I called my lawyer to dispute this claim but he advised me that replacing an oil pan was not a big enough claim to take legal action and I would have to go to small claims court. The manager I spoke with was named Ryan who had been there for 9 years and I guarantee I am not the first customer to fall victim of the scam they are running here. This man looked right at me and said “I am not paying for your car”. “I cannot fix every broken car that comes in here”. It seemed I hurt his ego with the way I handled the situation and that is ultimately why he did not want to pay for what his technician broke. He also said very nonchalant that “they do not have any rental cars for me at this time”.I ended up towing my car down the street and having someone else repair my oil pan. I will be taking them to small claims court in the near future to potentially get my $600 back. I just think that if you break it you should pay for it but I guess they did not feel the same.I am in the market for a new car and I will not be purchasing a Hyundai. Especially not at this location. Moral of the story if you don’t want to be left stranded without a car days before Christmas don’t buy a car here.

I took my car in to have the driver’s side handle diagnosed (button no longer responding to the proximity key). I had called ahead & gotten pricing.When they officially diagnosed it, the quote I was given was higher than what was given on the phone.They also added an $100 paint fee that was never previously mentioned.I’m currently waiting until they call me to tell me parts have arrived. Hopefully there won’t be any additional issues.
They were very polite and was able to get in and since I had to also go pick up my dog before the car was expected to be done they gave me a ride home so I could go pick up my dog from the vet.
Service personnel were very polite and went over all the services I requested. Kept me informed as to service I needed and completed everything in a timely manner.
Very professional. They create a video of the inspection so you can see whats wrong, if anything. Very polite staff. Didnt have to wait an inordinate amount of time. Clean facility with wi-fi. Nowhere to work on a PC, though, except in your lap.
Overall good service. However, when I pay nearly $600 for service and am having to bring my car for a recall as well, I would typically expect to have my car washed and maybe even vacuumed out before I leave. Otherwise I really have no complaints. Everyone was pleasant, everything was completed on time, all of my questions were answered fully; I just wish I hadn’t needed to go get my car washed and cleaned elsewhere afterwards.

I was in town visiting family and had an airbag light on and some steering wheel control issues. I’d called around to get it looked at but hadn’t actually made an appointment anywhere. While in Olathe I made an appointment to get the diagnostic test done and figure out what was going on. The woman who scheduled my appointment was wonderful and walked me through it and they got me in super quickly. Grant took care of me when I came in for my appointment and he was amazing! He listened to my concerns, allowed me to share what I believed was the culprit (I was right) lol and he was great at communicating with me while they had my car. 2.5 hours later my repair was completed and 2 recalls on my car were done. I live 11 hours away from this dealership but will be back in Kansas and I’ll use them anytime I can!! Thank you to the amazing service team you guys are the best!!!

They are always friendly. Ryan goes out if his way to fix my problems and get me back on the road quickly. He’s very apologetic when they are unable to get it done. My car is not a HYUNDAI but they still take care of it.
Hyuandi had a brake line recall. They gave me a loaner but the job took from 8:30 Tuesday morning until the following Monday afternoon. I felt like they kept taking care of other customers first

Very poorly run service department. They do not wear uniforms or name tags. They dont know how to treat customers. They make Hyundai look bad and I wont be going back.
They forgot to reset my maintenance reminder. I called and left a message to get a call to tell me how to reset. They never called. It’s been over a week and no call back. I called another Hyundai dealer and they walked me through the reset. A little disappointed in McCarthy. I bought it there and they didn’t respond to my message.
I was immediately greeted by the Service Manager and treated like I was personally valued. The service was excellent! Very courteous person and no pressure to add services I wished to postpone. Very pleasant experience!
McCarthy Olathe Hyundai provides the best, most professional service I ever have had with this vehicle and I’ve had it for 11 years! They help me keep her running. Service manager Mike is the best with customer service and they are always fair with me. I highly recommend them!
I took my car in for a coupon 19.95 oil change. They called and recommended I get rear brakes. I asked for a discount, and they gave me $30. When I went to pay, they gave me $35 discount but, they could not use the $19.95 oil change. Without discounts it was all almost $20 more. They are always on time and they do good work, but I found this irritating. But I keep it all in perspective during a pandemic.

The auto repair managers are absolutely outstanding. I was worried about my car and they told me to relax/they’d take care of it and holy cow they really knocked my socks off. My car was good to go in no time, and they did a lot of work. Hyundai is good about doing recalls and taking care of anything wrong with their products. I bought one hoping for this kind of situation once I reached 100k miles - and they treat you like you’re buying a car for the first time. Told my colleagues about my experience - McCarthy Hyundai shop managers are top notch guys who will help with anything. I can’t say enough good things. I’ve experienced what most places are like. This place just locked in a future vehicle sale - guaranteed. Felt like my friends. Bravo fellas.

I took my car in because of a manufacturer recall. I was extremely disappointed and upset that the waiting room for people to stay while their cars were being serviced was extremely small and was very crowded. There was absolutely no way to be safe and socially distant during Covid. I ended up sitting outside in the cold waiting for my husband to come pick me up so I wouldn’t have to stay in the waiting room. In addition there were sales people that weren’t even wearing masks.However, one of the service managers, Michael, was very responsive and very apologetic.
