I can get a loan for a house easier than they make it to rent a $900 instrument. The amount of financial information they require is ridiculous and asking your customers to pay for their own credit checks is the most backward thing I’ve heard. Would recommend ANY other music store in KC over this one.

I was a customer of another of the big music stores around but after looking earlier in the year for a place to service my middle schoolers trumpet we discovered REW. Excellent and quick service. We have since started taking lessons here with one of their instructors Nick Howell. He is great to work with and always accommodating not to mention unbelievably talented. My son has shown great improvement. We have another son that will start middle school soon and you can bet we will stick with REW!

I was a teacher at REW music. This is my first job at United States. But it is really a bad experience! Before I sign the contract. They told me they have 12 student available. After I sign. I only got 1 students last year November. They paid me 46.17! During last 7 month. The highest one they paid me 417.75 . They said I can’t have another job near them! What you want I do? I got my masters degree. Why I can’t be a teacher at other places? Is that means if you are professor a UMKC, You can’t be a professor at ku? Also when you quit, you can’t teach for one year?! So what you want I do? give up my music career for one year?! That contract is not Legal!!!! I told them I will quit. I also told them I can teach for one more month. Then after two weeks they said I broken the rules(teach at other place, if I don’t teach. I can’t feed my cat !), whey you don’t tell me when I said I could like to quit?. The did not give me my check $161 for June. Also asked me to pay them $210 for student deposit. Excuse me? I could like to pay it to homeless, but I won’t pay you! If you can’t treat your teacher well, you won’t have good teacher forever. Their only care about money, not about student and teacher. If you are a teacher. Be careful to sign any paper!!

I wanted to write a review after I saw a very negative one posted. I have two sons taking lessons at REW. There are young people who work there - with various levels of experience and expertise. We have always been treated courteously and fairly. If they dont have what you need, they will recommend on other places to go. My sons love their instructors and are encouraged and respected by everyone in the shop. I recommend this place to any friends looking for lessons or music supplies.

I went there to buy music book and flute cleaning rod. One young male was helped me to find it and gave me the price. The price was on the tag also. I took both to the counter and an young lady rang the items. Rod rang as $6.29 but the tag said $5.99. I mentioned that price difference and asked why. The lady checked the inventory and told me that $6.29 is the right price and the price just went up, do you still want it? I think that is cheating (displaying one price and charging another). I went ahead and bought it but that is my last trip to that store. I have a photo with tag and receipt. I think the MO state recently sued Walgreens for similar issue.

I felt the staff was not professional. The place looks like it is run by a bunch of kids that have norespect for and adult with a child. Music should be fun! They are more expensive than any other place in Johnson County. You have to pay for a month up front and if you are not satisfied there is no way to get your money back.As you can tell we are not happy. My 8 year old will be going to Meyer music.

I went there to get my 65 year old Karl Knilling violin to get new string and my bow rehaired I was satisfied with the strings, but when I got home I went to tighten the hair and I noteced the frog and screw were different then I noticed the bow was brand new. So I went back and asked why they said it was becuase, it was easier to repalce the bow, and then I ask the lady if she knew it was a Karl Knilling and she said yes and then im thinking this women is crazy because, this instrument completely original and has been pased though my family for 55 years. I mean come on you cant just git rid of a orignal thing that has been with the instrument for 55 years just becuase it easier. So I then asked for the original bow and I get handed a broken bow with no frog. And I had a professional and to teachers if the bow was unstable. So im thinking how in the world do u break a bow in perfectly good condition. And what do they say they say there was a crack yet there wasnt so im still angry about that but I do know I will be getting my bow back returning th new one and getting the original one rehaired. And it will be at Meyers Music or Blues Debak sorry for the grammer im only 11.
