Was there bright and early Saturday morning and I was in and out so quickly I was amazed. Staff was friendly and courteous. truck was clean and full of gas. Saw one of the same guys from the morning when I brought back the truck 12 hours later. Again, drop off was quick and easy. I would recommend and will use again.
Came by to fill several propane tanks... a kid on a scooter told me they were closed for the day with propane... even though they close in another 2 hours. come back tomorrow at 7am ... what this hourly employee should realize is customers dont have infinite time to waste. He has the luxury of being paid by the hour to not do his job. ... till the customer base diminishes . Go elsewhere
During a weather emergency the manager - I wish I caught his name - went way above and beyond to help. I can’t say enough positive things about the service and empathy.
Refused to fill a propane tank recertified *by the United States DOT* because original date was older. LIED and told me uhaul policy was original tank date and when confronted with website showing corporate uhaul policy that recertified tanks could be filled to me he “didn’t have to if he didn’t think it was safe.” Dishonest and wasted my time.
I went to this uhaul store on the day of the storm talk to a young man about a storage container that the manager told me to go see, he never reserved it, so i called today to verify my reservation and the manager that called me back was rude, unapologetic she put me on hold for 15 minutes and never came back to the phone, I’m just asking for you to rectify your wrong doing, i need to store my belongings 😡😡😡
Just went there. Person at desk was kind and intelligent. I think his name was Reynaldo. Filled my small 5lb tank no problem. Excellent service
Very hard to get ahold of. Every time I call they take over 15-20 minutes to answer the phone, or so not answer at all. I wonder how much business they are losing by not answering their phones. So dumb! Don’t even bother calling.
I can understand system failures. I can understand over booking. What i cant understand is an employee treating you like they are doing you a favor by spending your money. The young woman today was extremely nasty to everyone in this location. Its a stressful time and i get that. But the way that she spoke to everyone in that line had me disgusted that i spent a dime in this company. Sarcastic remarks, exclaiming she dosent care if anyone calls corporate. Just a very nasty disposition. I wouldnt anyone to lose their job in this economy but she should be in the back and not dealing with the public.
I made an appointment about a week and a half ago to have a trailer hitch put on my car this morning. I scheduled at this location as I needed the hitch for a specific date, and this location had availability. I drove 30 minutes to get there this morning. I walked in and the woman at the counter did not have a mask on and made no attempt to social distance. She then proceeded to say, oh, no one called you? as apparently they did not receive the parts, but didnt bother to call and let me know and save me an hour in the car and waiting for a refund, as they had already charged my credit card for the parts and service that they didnt have. Between that and the incredible disrespect by not wearing a mask or attempting to social distance, I recommend avoiding this location. It was a terrible customer experience.
Great staff and customer service. Everyone was very helpful at the pickup location and the equipment I used got the job done was clean. Will be back again for moving big things

Popped in seeking to fill two propane tanks and I could not believe how eager the staff was to help me.Ive been here before years ago, when a friend was moving to go get a truck and found no complaints at all, and while just now waiting to pay - I noticed how this location stocked the good essentials when to comes to both moving and towing.Once I was done, I thanked the man and told him he just got a new customer, as my usual propane fill place was closed and the next place I tried, the staff was non-existent....Definately the place to go if you want your propane tanks filled, and dont want any grief or nonsense and best of all, they charge by actual meter reading, not a flat fee.Highly recommended.
Unfortunately, the lasting impression left a very sour taste in my mouth....during pick up the staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The 26 truck was clean and ready for me to drive away. I was informed about the $3.50 per gallon fuel if they had to fill the tank themselves. I decided to go that route, but when I dropped off the truck I was hit with another $30 fueling charge which was not mentioned and got a take it or leave it attitude from the same friendly clerk as the morning.
Plenty of trucks on hand. Extremely nice staff but the trucks are old. I had to drive the truck 130 miles and it was LEAKING RAIN WATER. The leak was right above the driver seat belt. The rain soaked the seat belt which in turn soaked me. I was drenched by the time I got to my destination.Horrible experience. Stay away from truck DC 1153K if its raining.
Very unprofessional!! I reserved a truck online and received an email confirmation in the morning. An employee from the rental center called to confirm my reservation that morning. When I went to pick the truck up, after waiting in line for 30 minutes, I was told that there were no trucks available. I saw at least three trucks like the one I reserved sitting in the parking lot. They made no attempt to accommodate me and didn’t seem to care. I had to scramble to find a truck and ended up paying double at Home Depot.
Im this site is fine, but Uhaul is terrible. I rented in Montoe, spent 45 minutes on the reservation line to make sure I had exactly what I needed. They even gave me a great rate. Then when I show up, theyve given my equipment to someone going one way, and since I was a local rental, they moved my reservation 15 miles away. They didnt call or email me, and now Im stuck. And they upgraded me into a larger truck that I now was expected to pay for. I was charged for pads, but they didnt bother to put them in the truck, so when I got where I was going, I was really in trouble. All in all, I spent 2 extra hours of my time in the morning and drove further and paid almost double of what was quoted on the phone. But what else could I do? I needed to get a big item, and had people waiting on me. What a complete travesty. Never again. NEVER!
I had a trailer hitch installed here. Great customer service. Paul installed my hitch and made sure I was satisfied with the install. I would recommend using this uhaul location over others.
Seriously read these reviews, go to the new haven location. I was here twenty minutes before even seeing the one employee that works here apparently, and even though they rent trucks for $20 a day, somehow if I need it for 5 days it costs aver $300 plus fees
The staff here is great however the manager Annalise can never be met and doesn’t follow through with her customer service. She was supposed to close out a contract on my pod back in September and it is now December and I am still receiving emails saying I owe them money with attempted charges to my credit cards, 5 times this weekend alone.
I wish I could give them no stars. Do not waste your money or time doing business with this particular UHaul. An associate named Paul, who was quite rude, gave us a contract that didnt reflect the correct amount of gas or mileage on the truck we rented when we pointed it out he refused to reprint the contract and assured us that his initials on the paperwork would suffice however after the truck was dropped off the Orange office would not answer the phone or return any calls to the UHaul where I dropped the truck off (200 miles away no less) to confirm THEIR mistake and I was charged for both the mileage overage and gas. I have spoken to the corporate office about this employee and filed a grievance. Hopefully they will retrain their employees at that office so they can be more competent in the future but honestly I detect laziness more than ignorance with Mr. Paul Cirillo and Im sure the area of Orange has a more qualified and motivated candidate than this particular associate.
Fast, efficient, and friendly. Was in and out within ten minutes. Truck was in great condition too. All my belongings stayed intact. Staff was also very knowledgeable.

I had made a reservation for Saturday November 4th in the Orange location. Received an email Monday saying that. Went to go pick up the truck and the reservation had been moved to Hamden without my knowledge. Someone should have contacted me to let me know. Lost time and money. The staff at the Orange location needs a customer service refresher class. Do NOT recommend Orange location.
Finally, after several moves the last few years, we had an amazingly stress free experience with our UHAUL rental. The staff was thorough and efficient. I would like to thank Chris Melillo for making the process so easy.
Uhaul roof leaked (didnt caulk the riveted seam on top) and ruined the bottom 1-2 of the entire trailer. So fun to drive 20 hours and then have to unload items one at a time because the bottom of every box rips. Also did not have the dolly that I reserved over a month earlier. Stay away from Uhaul in general.
My experience originally was going to be a 1. Reservation was made through Uhaul and the arrangements were their compensation for screwing up TWO previous rentals. When it came time for the 24 hour call before, the location was changed. Ok, deal with it. Returned truck cleaned and more than required gas and six days later I was charged again after already paying on the day of pick up. Manager, Fredrick, emailed me today and gave me a partial refund. I appreciate that he fixed this, but Im not sure I will use uhaul again to finish my move next year.
I was scheduled to pick up a 10 truck. Unfortunately somehow the online service allowed it to overbook but they made it right & gave me a 15 for the same price & the guy that helped me, his name was Christopher I think, was extremely professional and really tried to make it right . We were very pleased with his service.
I live inWest Haven, and I make reservation for 20 ft truck, at Orange ct location the lady told me, don’t have any truck available, but she said, go to Waterbury they have a truck available she give me a reservation #, so a I drove from West Haven to Waterbury to pick up a truck in Waterbury, say my reservation is in Massachusetts, so be careful
Never deal with the associate Paul Cirillo at this location or maybe just dont even go to this location. His laziness cost me $200 extra because u couldnt be bothered to reprint a contract that he messed up so I was charged for his mistakes. Worst UHaul experience ever.
At first I had a bad experience (broken side-view mirror that made lane changes, backing up and right turns nearly impossible). I called them and told them the vehicle was difficult (ok, scary and dengerous) to drive and that I would need to use it a couple hours passed the 5PM deadline. They were courteous and genuinely concerned, and did not charge me for returning it late -- AND they even reimbursed a big chunk of the rental fee! Thanks, Orange U-Haul!
Id give no stars if that was an option. It sure is the worst of the worst. I will never ever use uhaul again.

I picked up a 10 truck in Harlem, NY and returned it after hours to this location about 6 hours later. I performed the online checkout when returning the truck, which went smoothly until the Uhaul app informed me I owed almost $700 for driving 1,500 miles (clearly a mixup w/r/t the truck I was given). The next day I had some difficulty getting in touch directly with someone at this particular location but eventually the manager, Anna, called me back, profusely apologetic about the mixup and about the fact my card had been charged before the situation came to her attention. She refunded the incorrect charge and also gave me a discount on the original cost of the truck, which was unnecessary but truly appreciated. Moving is stressful enough, and Anna helped to make my move much less stressful.
Very pleased with my hitch installation. So, coming back to see if theyll install a cargo box to hitch next.
The truck we rented was inadequate to transport our equipment so we returned it immediately hoping to exchange it for an open trailer or store credit. The manager, Rodger, would have none of it. He was not helpful at all, claiming that other people couldnt move because we had the truck. It was Sunday evening and plenty of other trucks in the lot. We paid a total of $70.00 for a 2-hour, 25 mile round trip and complete lack of understaning from Uhaul. The manager needs to up his people skills. Other Uhaul employees were very kind.
