After stopping at the Guitar Center in New London (on my way home the casino) which I had a really poor experience. I drove all the way from there to the Guitar Center in Orange. My experience there was opposite that of my experience in New London. My needs were tended to, and the sales guy (Henry) was super patient with me and helped me pick out the best speakers that fit my needs and budget. I even got what I thought was “Top Dollar” for my trade as well. I would recommend the Guitar Center in Orange over any other music/audio store in the state.
Great selection and the staff is so knowledgeable. I go there with questions and I leave with answers. Never do I feel like they are “too busy” to talk. Great customer service.
Always love coming here! NEVER gets old. Mike and the evening crew makes you feel welcome and assistance is always available, love that! Thanks for always staying open on time and time well spent!
Really helpful staff. Nice options. Large location. Great if you want to see the things in person that youve been looking at online. Nice selection of sheet music.
I think this store is cool don’t have a problem. Everything goes good unles David Smith is in the store. I think he’s one of the worst supervisors in the store.
Excellent gear, and excellent customer service. Sending love to Bill E, Chaz W and all at GC. Love my new keyboard my hubby Alan bought me. Thank you boo! 😜🤘❤️❤️
Great service from audio department on my piano, quick and caring !! I have gotten most of my instruments from this store, very well managed and I love the different departments its like going into different worlds of music !!
The customer service rep at this store was great . Ty so much .
These people are here to help you with all that they can dont believe me go see for yourself. Ask for John
I had the pleasure (NIGHTMARE) of trying to locate some pro audio gear that is in short supply due to covid. Thanks to Asst. Manager Orrieon (apologies if I misspelled that) we were able to locate what I needed to make the show happen! He was extremely professional, knowledgeable and easy to talk to! He bent over backwards to get what I needed and came through for me! This guy deserves a raise.
Awesome service from the gentleman with the beard....just sayin
I needed manuscript paper and asked employee for help. They were low on stock but he found it. Great service.
I was impressed by the service, patience, and attention to detail at this store. I was even more impressed by Justin N who was incredibly helpful over the phone with a technical question I was having about fret buzz on my Stratocaster. He swiftly diagnosed the issue and I was able to fix the buzz on my guitar immediately. Anyone else could have simply written me off and I would have had to drive 30+ minutes to drop off my guitar needlessly. This is the sort of thing that makes me love Guitar Center and keeps me a loyal patron - Ill definitely be making my purchases in-store because I love the retail presence and the community Guitar Center provides. Thanks for looking out, Justin!
The Orange location is the best Guitar Center Ive ever been to. Their selection has always been excellent, even during these scaled-back pandemic days. I walked in on my birthday and walked out with a new LP Classic in Ebony tagged for $1629. Well happy birthday to me... just an example of the great deals you can find there. Rock on, Orange GC!
Large inventory and nice space here. just cant recommend their guitar setups. i got a platinum setup on two of my axes and they just didnt check for intonation at all--i adjusted the saddles myself the day i picked them up. and the wiring of my new pickups was messed up pretty badly.
I always get a fair deal. GC is very laid back and good to there customers. If you have a problem ask forChaz. Store manager. The time I had to return a les Paul. Hes the one who did it and was really nice. Ive probably bought 20 guitars over the years from them and never had any problem exchanging or trading or returning. Very good place for newbies also.Keep Rockin my brother and sisters
Dont know whats going on with this place. Stopped by last week, couldnt tell if they are going out of business, or just got robbed. Next to no inventory, things out of place. Store beat up and run down looking. Was once a great store. Almost always walked out buying something in the past. Now just a handful of overpriced guitars behind 1 counter and bunch of junk hanging on 1 wall. I wish them the best.
Audio/speaker section is pretty good. Instruments are good quality also. Staff was somewhat helpful
Great service very inept and know exactly how to handle customer inquiries. Big shout out to Peter the repair man he has set up multiple guitars of mine and I will continue to go and seek repairs and help and advice. 5 stars!!!
Great staff. Very knowledgeable. Skip the competition. Go straight to Guitar Center.
Employees were very friendly but dont sell stuff there they rip you off 👎😩
Awesome Place / Knowledgable Staff / Good sales also - I have picked up a Tama drum set /Audio Technica Headphones - Speakers snd bass lessons- its like a home away from home. I love it.
It’s always good to visit
Very helpful alway good service
Helpful staff recommended a good amp for me
My company love you
I was able to get what I needed. Its a smaller store but has enough guitars to peruse through. Like many places limited sales staff but they were friendly and ask if I needed anything. So I will probably go back after I do some research on specific brands that I would like to try out. Since the beauty of a brick and mortar us that you can feel and hear some of the instruments which is a big factor in my purchasing decision.
UPDATED SEE SECOND ENTRY BELOWJust spent an hour Guitar Centers Orange Connecticut not one approach by any customer service person.. actually had to remove a guitar from the second rack in the back acoustic room myself.. in addition the parking lot has been completely taken over by Edge Fitness .....poor customer service equals Im going back to where I live to buy local...... Not seeing those doors open for more than another year.. UPDATE.....gave them another try....same treatment. Employees walk around in a semi ZOMBIE state....right by me numerous times...Upon arrival manager peeked over in my direction....not even a Welcome to Guitar Centers....please let us know what you need.... I believe this problem starts at the top of that particular store... I hope its not general store practice throughout the U.S. .... every employee should be taught to greet every person as a special customer and potential buyer.... A simple morning staff meeting with a daily game plan on how good we are going to treat the folks that come in to buy at our store..... Honestly I probably would have walked out with a new acoustic... but couldnt get to it and didnt feel like climbing the ladder again....... Really guys .....get your act together before you lose your jobs and that store.......
My go-to store when I need something quick. The staff are knowledgeable and have helped me with many of the questions Ive had.
Short staffed but great service
Great customer service. Although I am shopping after black Friday and did not have a lot of stuff but they help me find what I did
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Clean facilities with lots of instruments to try. Great to have music stores like this still around!
Lots of broken strings.
Amazing place for lessons. Roger is a fantastic instructor and very patient.
Fan-tastic store but although they did not have in stock the guitar that looks like a bird. I bought a fender from these sweatin’ chickadees and they rubbed beef all ‘ova that damn thing. Great Great store very eastern european
The toy store lespaul or Martin you cant go wrong
Remember: the customer has to do THEIR part and be respectful to people who work in the store.Nice, professional and helpful staff. Though I wish that they would refrain from calling older people like me, dude, bud or man.
Helpful staff. Willing to answer the most basic of questions. Large selection of various instruments and accessories. Very good pricing.
Great Equipments and awesome service 👏👍
I love this particular GC location. They always treat me well and usually have a good inventory. The inventory is low at the moment because of covid. But they still rock!
Best help I got.very nice peoplevery knowledgeable
S#&t show.....Manager needs to do a better job. Service was at an all-time low. Hopefully better next time.
Spent 600 dollars on a cardboard 3 string and a 12 string
As soon as the sales person (once I was able to get ahold of one) caught onto that I wasnt Steve Vai or interested in spending thousands of dollars, he quickly lost interest. I did end up making a purchase but the guy made me feel I was a huge inconvenience.
Even during this pandemic I feel welco.e and relaxed while shopping here.
Great selection on electric and acoustic guitars as well as many other fine instruments! There are dozens and dozens of guitars to choose from and they have a great acoustic room set up to test their wide variety of acoustic guitars. Anybody interested in playing a musical instrument can easily get lost in this place for awhile just admiring the many different options they have available. Professional and friendly staff and they offer music lessons from beginner level and up! Great musical instrument store for sure!
Its good. They still let you play with the drums😬
A little over yr ago I had ordered a vintage guitar online from guitar center and it was shipped professionally done. I thought that was the Guitar Center Standard so I decided to purchase an other one. The next purchase came from this location and all I can say people ship $2 LPs with more responsibility and care than these guys did with shipping a 1967 Vox Super Lynx Deluxe.
Staff is really nice, but the inventory is nowhere near as good as what other Guitar Centers and Sam Ash have to offer.
Clean organized and followed protocols.
Guitar Center in orange has fantastic management and staff, most of whom are unique and experienced musicians themselves. They have a large and unique used selection with prices in any budget. They also price match competitors, so I dont often find reasons to go elsewhere for sales.
Great Store Great Customer Service !!! They Will Help You With Whatever You Need Cant Beat Their Prices And If You Did Have A Problem The Manager Chaz Will Be Sure To Get Results !!! Thanks Guitar Center !!!
It was okay. There seemed to be more employees working there than customers. Which was odd since only a couple of them can actually help you. It wasnt bad at least I can look forward to 1,000 emails. I guess thats something.
Great selection of used and new. Knowledgable staff
Peter the technician was very pleasant, professional and knowledgeable and repaired our kids guitar on the same day with full set and strings. Where do they do that??? Guitar Center in Orange, CT. Josh was also very knowledgeable about instruments and had very informative insights to help along with the Guitar lessons Staff. They were helpful and pleasant. Gold⭐ Star for Guitar Center🤩❤❤👍👍
Nice store, everything you may need is there. People are very helpful and profesional.
Not bad for a big chain type music store. Lots of good used gear, plus tons of new stuff. If you go there during one of their big sales, you can get some pretty sweet deals.
If you love playing instruments this is the place for you, i swing by too to bring my niece and nephew to play the drums. They have top of the line music software and guitars, amps, acoustic and electric, drums, mics, this is the playland for grown ups, if it was possible id buy the play just to have jam sessions,
I went to check out acoustic guitars. There is a good collection with a separate room for acoustic - recommend playing a guitar for a at least 4-5 mins initially to get the feel. Once you zero in on the sound and feel you like, you can move through them much faster.
In an amazing place . the personal is very professional.
Hot tip (Its worked on two separate occasions for me and, by extension, others standing around wondering if anyone works here)- Take whatever you need be it a return, purchase, or simple human contact to the back where the live sound, keys, and other digital items live. There, hidden, is a helpful employee.
Really nice guy working there, helped me out alot. Very thankful.....
It would be nice if they were more polite not saying all but 1 he must have had a bad day .
This place makes being a Muscian, Dj or Performer easy. They are knowledgeable and friendly. I also want to thank GC for being a safe environment to shop during these covid days. My pick up was easy and you added my accessories without me having to enter the store. GC Rocks!
Somewhat good service
Great instruments, staff and prices
Quick replacement instrument shipped so fast!
Thank you, the staff was beyond helpful, thank you thank you thank you!
Employees have lots of knowledge. No pressure. You can try any instrument you want. They have used instruments and sales all the time
Great store but theyre closed for Covid-BS.
Very nice. Informative staff. I love coming here always good fair prices and everything is well organized.
Awesome staff very knowledgeable
Great customer service, friendly and very helpful.
Although as I understand it theyve been having financial issues across the company at least I see a continuous striving and attempt to make changes and find an alternative business model that will work. Usually the workers here are very helpful and engaging when necessary but not overbearing and helicopter-ish. I like it.
Love GC. Always have always will lol
A very nice employee helped me find an RCA to 3.5 mm cable that I needed to play my PS2 on my digital monitor. Very grateful for his assistance.
My most recent trip was for a set up and restring. This is the only place I feel comfortable using for work on a stringed instrument. Bob, the owner, knows what he is doing and is very meticulous. Update not sure why Google messed up the above paragraph in this review is for Guitar Fixer Bob in Seymour CT.Ive been to Guitar Center in Orange CT for a trial lesson, i was very happy with the staff and selection. However I have not had any work done on my guitar at this location so I do not have any basis for evaluating the quality of work, other than the other customers picking up their instruments seemed happy.
Thanks 😁 great job on my repair.
Great service!
Guitar Center is always great. Great friendly staff. Always helpful. Chaz is the best. Only place I shop for musical stuff.
New Toy Store.
Had an awesome experience here today while looking for a new guitar. Our sales rep was really helpful and told us a few things about when the guitar was made and how to use all of the tools that came along with it. He even tuned the guitar to make sure it worked good for us. Super nice guy that helped us, we didnt feel any pressure from him to buy it.
Decent selection with fair pricing. Staff was helpful and pretty knowledgeable without being pushy... the person behind the register seemed to be having a bad day, but I guess everyone is entitled to have a crappy day occasionally...
Super nice guys work there, help us with anything. They have almost anything, and now they also offer music lessons
Great service
Omar was an amazing help with everything I needed to get regarding an Electronic Drum Kit. Very knowledgeable and professional, would highly recommend Omar with ANYTHING you shop for at this Guitar Center!
I love them. They are very helpful and professional.
My initial visit showed me that this store serves more than the guitarist; other musicians are served with instrument, sheet music and instruction(sound-proof room). All kinds of accessories, shirts, records, and loud speakers/amplifiers.The helpful staff guided me in getting a gift. A positive experience in this store.
My boyfriend plays drums and needed drumheads and sticks. Went there for the first time and was highly impressed by their selection of products and how you could try instruments in the store. I do not play, however my boyfriend was able to show me some basic drumming techniques on store sets. Helpful, but not pushy, staff. Highly recommend to any musician.
About what you would expect from a big box music store. Decent selection, fair to poor customer service (largely dependent on who is working and whether they feel like being customer oriented). They had a great guitar tech named Edwin but he left a few months ago. His replacement is good but still learning his trade.
Recently made a purchase and opened up a credit card here. Very pleasant experience. Great customer service. Chuck was extremely helpful.
Very friendly and knowledgable staff.
Excellent selection of acoustic guitars. Knowledgeable sales people. Got a great deal on a Taylor mini-e.
Not one guitar was in tune. Whats with that. Some of the acoustics I played werent even set up and buzzed. Not for nothing but if your in the business of selling instruments every one should be tuned and ready to go.
Very helpful knowledgeable staff service can be a wait when its busy
Won’t pick up the phone I called 9 times
Love the selection. Good prices. Good helpful staff, most of the time.... Could get rid of one or two rude a$$e$
