I dont say things like this very lightly or often, but I do have to say Im extremely impressed by the changes this store has gone through since I came here a year ago. Some of the fairest pricing for these kind of items Ive ever seen in a retail store, decent trade in offers, a great selection, and very nice employees. The store was clean, organized, and inviting and honestly this might be one of my new go to stops for new games. Really cool selection! Best of luck!!

I bought an adapter OUT OF THE BOX at this store. The guy was super nice, and I was excited to use the adapter as soon as I got home. I tried it, and it didn’t work OUT OF THE BOX. There was only left, and at that point I just wanted my money back. I took it back NOT EVEN 30 MINUTES later. The guy asked if I had the console the adapter was tried on, because they needed to make sure it was actually broken. It was inconvenient, but I wanted my money back. I came back two days later and brought the console. The employee said there were no refunds, WHICH I WASNT INFORMED OF UNTIL THE THIRD TRIP HERE, and told me to get something in the store for the same price instead. I literally just want my money back or the adapter. Instead I wasted a bunch of gas, a bunch of time, and I will not be shopping here ever again.

This is the best used video game store I have ever been to. I have been here several times. The new location is HUGE!! The owner did a fantastic job designing it, making it both inviting and fun to look around. Everything is organized so well it makes it easy to search for what you want. The owner is awesome. He went above and beyond today to get me what I was looking for. I will be back many times in the future.

Best selection anywhere Ive shopped. It appears the other local area stores closed up shop, and its evident that they couldnt compete with these guys here. The entire store is clean, and fun looking. The products are always clean. I never have issues with stuff I buy here.

Absolutely amazing selection of anything 3rd gen on up. (NES). Games are mostly priced a little higher than price chatting. Which is fair, its still a few bucks cheaper when shipping is factored in. They also carry DVD and Blu ray movies at great deals for the most part. Particularly Disney who are notoriously expensive for Blu rays.

Me and my children went to DVD Game eXchange on 7/14 and we were appalled by this sign. My unvaccinated children still wear masks and even my vaccinated child still prefers to wear a mask. I don’t know what kind of bull this place is trying to peddle, but I know personally I don’t want politics with my video games. Things are not normal and I feel many customers will be turned off and offended by this ‘policy’. I will not be buying anything from this establishment and I will recommend to people I know not to go there either.

This was the first sign he initially had up. Unfortunately, this place involves politics with his professional life. He’s continued to change his sign from time to time. It’s a confusing and tough time right now. We’re all affected. The owner has no composure whatsoever. And he’ll probably change his reply with “that’s a nice looking photo.” That’s how professional the owner is.

Went to the store and asked if they would be interested in over 200 DVDs I had. Yes, bring them in. Today (about a month later) checked there web page and called. Both sources suggested to bring them in for a quote. Loaded 230 DVDs and drove there. They arent buying DVDs. Consider changing your name, updating your web-page and phone message.

On the one hand, my experience at the Orem location was generally positive, the employees were polite, they had a good selection at this location, and I ended up buying a game and a cord that worked well. On the other hand, I do not like the company‘s policy regarding backing up the quality of their items. I learned firsthand about their return and exchange policy from their other location, a very negative experience, so I could not recommend this chain of stores given my experience with the company.

This is a great game store, and it is a dying breed for sure. The staff are helpful and their inventory is full of games, accessories, and consoles. I’ve purchased many controllers, games, and all of them have been of great quality.

I was very impressed even though Im not a gamer. I go for the movies. As for my son, its his new favorite place. They even fixed one of his favorite old games that would freeze up in the 2nd level.I highly recommend this place.

I purchased a Ps2 here a week ago. I was hesitant to make the purchase (since it was a rare version that was half again as expensive), so I asked the gentleman if I could plug it in and test it. He said I could but guaranteed that their staff would have previously tested it and if there was a problem I could get it resolved. I decided to trust him and make the purchase along with half a dozen games. Getting home with the system I immediately plugged it in and tested some games. Only 1 in 4 would work, and Id have to make several attempts to make that one happen. I was incredibly frustrated, but my first guess was that the games were the issue, not the system. As a plan b though, I purchased a laser replacement online.The laser came today, and having barely touched the system for the last week, I thought it was worth the risk of breaking the seal of quality and lose out on a possible refund to proceed with replacing the laser. It works like a dream now.Fortunately, i only had to invest an extra 25 dollars (since i have the other tools necessary for the job), and now i have a great system. What made me write this though is the worry that others who dont have the tools to fix it will make the same mistake I did.Disappointing.Update:After my initial post of this review, the owner responded in a way I initially found frustrating, but Im quite sure at this point that it was my misreading of a sincere attempt at a resolution. After contacting the owner via the website email I was replied to within the hour (its near 3 in the morning at the time). I never asked for any refund, as I really do love the ps2 and felt fine just letting it go with the review, but he insisted on refunding me the price of the laser i purchased. As well, he explained his process and sincerely apologised in a way I cant help but respect fully.All in all, I think the lesson to this review is that the 5 stars I now have it rated was earned by honest care for a customers concern.I am certain that this was an isolated incident and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend people to this store, and company in general (I usually go to the west jordan store).Thanks guys, you earned every one of those five stars, Im genuinely impressed with the customer service.

Terrible customer service. Its a shame really, because otherwise its a decent store to get movies and games.My problem with them happened today. I went around noon during lunch to pick up a movie. When I got back home, I realized I actually already owned the movie. So, a few hours later I went back to do an exchange for something of equal value. They guy at the counter told me they didnt do any refunds or exchanges on movies, citing that people have abused the system before. Now, Ive been a customer before, so I just asked if they could make an exception this one time, especially since I literally made the purchase hours before then. I wasnt trying to scam them. They literally wouldve lost no money, since I just wanted an exchange for something of the same value. I dont feel I made an unreasonable request. The guy basically said, too bad, and walked away when I was still talking to him. Now, this is probably what irked me the most, how rude this exchange was.As far as game prices go, you can probably do just as good or better on eBay with some patience, and you can certainly do better with their hardware pricing. Something else I dont like that they do is that for their loose games they buy cheap third party cases and print art to display the games (when they have the original art and manual, they include those). An informed buyer will recognize this, but someone less informed might not. My problem with this is that these are priced the same as the games with original cases and artwork, which I think can be pretty misleading, even if that is not their intention. I really wish these games were clearly marked as not original case/art. Their movies are priced pretty decently and they have an assortment of gaming and hobby related merch. Cool place to visit, but dont expect amazing deals, or to be treated with respect I guess. As for me, I wont be going back. You can do much better than this.Edit: You guys dont like criticism, and Ive just spent some time going by your reviews. Your responses to all negative reviews are attempts at dismissing them or invalidating them. Yeah, in some cases you might be in the right, but your approach is always rude and dismissive. Most of the negative reviews is because your staff is rude. No one needs to take my word for it. Some of the replies to people complaints here are extremely rude, going as far as mocking them. Again, I wasnt asking for anything unreasonable, you guys just didnt care or wanted to work something out with me. Thats good customer service. Youre making it sound like I was there harassing your staff for a long time, when everything happened relatively quickly, so I find it really hypocritical and ironic from your part to say I am being disingenuous. I loved this place! Great store and employees are super helpful and kind. Unfortunately today I came in to return some skylander avatars that didn’t work. I simply asked for store credit. This was the second time I bought skylanders avatars that didn’t work! They need to tear their products before they sell them! The guy didn’t want to give me store credit! I would of bought something of greater value that same day! What a loss for HIM and to boot he lost a customer!Some semblance of integrity would be nice for the business. I would gladly come back if they apologized and gave me store credit... it is a great store...

You not only save time and money, but they could also be carrying a game that youve been searching for. They have so much variety, that stopping in to see what you can find is always worth it. Even if you arent interested in buying anything from them, theyll gladly buy games, consoles, accessories, dvds, you name it, and for cash on the spot! I’ve been going to DVD Game Exchange since they started back when they were JV Games. These guys are the absolute best gaming store I’ve ever been to. Their customer service is 10/10 the people who work there are the nicest people you will ever meet. They have very competitive pricing & have so many games from all consoles that you can’t find anywhere else. (And if you do find the same game at other places their competitors charge more especially on N64 games). I don’t usually stay loyal to one company of any industry. I don’t usually give reviews in general either. But when it comes to DVD Game Exchange they have me as a customer for life. I always go to them first if I ever need anything. Before you go to another gaming shop, try out DVD Game Exchange first!

I went in to purchase a ps2 FAT. It was $79.99 which I thought was reasonable. I didn’t get an original controller tho and that’s what kinda bothered me, since I instead got a really cheap/ generic controller. I saw that they had some original ones there but didn’t ask if I could have one, maybe I shouldve..I felt bad about my purchase when I went over to Gamechangerz to grab a few games and saw they had ps2’s for the same price I asked if they included the original ps2 controllers with their system, they said “yes, of course!” Probably won’t go back there again 😢

Recently purchased a gaming system from these guys for the holidays. After taking it home I realized it wasnt working to well, took it back and these guys were GREAT!! Awesome customer service and they quickly did a once over on the system and switched me out with a proper working one, no extra charge. Totally easy to work with and nice about it the whole time. Highly recommend!! Help keep the smaller companies in business. This was after previously purchasing a system from an online company that had terrible terrible customer service. Love DVD Exchange.👌

Cool nostalgic feel reminding me of old times when game exchange stores were in the fashion place, southtowne, and valley fair malls. They did a thorough job inspecting a game for me before they bought it as well and were very diligent and friendly. Lots of awesome posters for sale there as well.

I went there today for my first time and I was so impressed! I bought a Wii game system for my kids using Facebook marketplace, and one of the games(Mario cart) I bought didnt even work! I learned about this store and took it in to see if they could help me. They were able to fix it and the CD even looks brand new now!! My kids are very excited. I looked around the store and bought a couple more games which were so reasonably priced. Im definitely coming back to see what other fun games we can buy. I have learned that buying used games is much safer to buy through this store, and not only that, their prices are better than what I was seeing on Facebook marketplace! Game eXchange is part of a better era of gaming. Its nice and quiet for most encounters and the staff knows how to make conversation or let you browse quietly, whatever is comfortable. Only issue is the giant Movie display in the center, but thats a preference thing. If you want older games come here first.

Clean, organized store which is hard to find when it comes to used game stores. They test their stuff so Ive never had a bad disc or controller from them. Ive also found their prices are very competitive with what you find online.

A little disappointed with my experience today. I usually love the customer service and experience at the orem store but I was disappointed. The reason why is because I brought in a PS3 and an original Xbox console with cables and controllers and a TON of great games and was only offered $75 to $80 and I was looking to get about $180.00 and the employee told me that he doesnt make the prices the system does. and so I left and it was just a disappointing experience

Bought Crazy Taxi for GameCube. Understood that it had been resurfaced, but there was a big knick in the disc making it unplayable. It was most disappointing as it was a gift for someone else.Edit: went back and they switched the game. Got back and tested it in 2 other Gamecubes. Still unplayable. It stalls right before the title screen. But at least they were willing to switch the discs. I don’t think I’ll be returning.Edit: before making the assumption that my console isn’t, “working” kindly look above and see where I had tested it in 2 other consoles other than my own. But of course, it’s my fault. Not yours. Buyers beware, look at how they treat people.

This place is great. Go here instead of Gamestop. They offer everything clear back to Atari. They always give a fair trade in value too, even if your stuff isnt perfect (they will repair it).

This place is a cozy little store. It has nice employees who are willing to work with you. So if you arent into games or movies but you want a gift, feel free to ask them. Ive bought replacement charging cables and new controllers and styluses for various consoles as well as a few games here and there. And they carry consoles as well, so if you ever wanna get your hands on a N64 try here before going to eBay.

This is a great place to buy games, consoles, or stickers. Me and my friends go here pretty frequently to get stickers for our consoles and its 2 stickers for 1 dollars so i can usually grab about 10 stickers each time Ive gone. Great customer service. They fixed a friends joycon and now it has no problem. Overall, i enjoy going every time I do.

They have a pretty decent selection and are knowledgeable about everything they carry, unlike the chain that will remain nameless (the one where you Stop for Games). They post their incoming merchandise on their social media account, making it easier to score something awesome.

I recently felt the need to update my review from years ago because I really do believe that people read these, and take them seriously.Jeremiah, and Samuel are two of the hardest working people I’ve met in my entire life. They are extremely caring individuals, and that careful attitude gets passed on directly to each and every customer. Yes, it’s a retail store; but it’s so much more than that. As a company, they are genuinely aimed at making sure everyone leaves happy, and in five years, I only saw them treat everyone that walked through the door with an outstanding amount of respect and salesmanship.I think one of the most admirable things that I picked up on is their willingness to make something right. Sure, there’s a certain amount of risk taken when purchasing a 20+ year old system/controller/game etc. That said, they take the extra time, money, and effort to ensure that everything that leaves their store is in excellent condition. They have the mindset of “if it’s not good enough for me to personally own, I wouldn’t put it out for sale”, and that goes a very, very long way.Overall, I can’t recommend this place enough. Pretty sweet store. I was really impressed with how much stuff they really have, either movie, or video game related. Its nice being able to find all the older stuff whether its a movie thats older, and harder to find, or games for my SNES. Theyve got just about everything you could ask for from a local movie/game shop. Id recommend checking this place out, especially if you like taking a trip down memory lane.

Games are a little overpriced for used, in my opinion but the movies seemed pretty good. Though if youre looking to sell your old games youre better off at a pawn shop! I will say however, the guy working was super helpful and very nice.

This place was awesome. Im 34 and it was a time machine back to my childhood. I picked up some Sega Genesis games and a buttload of cool, random stickers. Overall, I will be coming back here again and again.

This place is incredible. They sell all sorts of games, old and new, at reasonable prices, and often cheaper than you could get anywhere else! Also, the customer service is incredible and friendly, and the disc repair worked just fine for me.

This store is the best! They really do pay the most on trades and yet their sale prices are very reasonable. Great selection of games/movies and even some unique retro stuff. I honestly get stuck in there due to the selection and kindness of the staff. The one guy in there named Sam is always willing to chat with me about Pokemon!. I mean how great is that?! Well worth the trip!

Where do I start? Great selection, great prices. Where else are you going to find over 3,000 DVDS, Blurays or TV Series? This store is like a modern day Blockbuster/Hollywood Video that we all grew up loving. On top of that, theyve got the best selection out of any game store Ive been to. Not only is their current selection fantastic, but it is ever growing. 6/5 stars. Fantastic store.

Pretty decent library of movies and video games. A bit pricey compared to buying the same things online but Id argue you are paying for the convenience and quality assurance. Staff is friendly and although I would recommend buying there from time to time, keep your expectations low if you want to sell things.

Nothing but very good experiences so far I feel like these guys genuinely give a care about people. I got ripped off by Gamechangerz a few years ago and tried these guys out and they gave cash equal to in store. THEY DIDNT CARE!It was awesome. They help out a lot of people who are selling other things there like plushies they have an impossible great selection at a great value it’s insane. I taught me a couple neat tricks and are very involved. Pretty damn cool.

Disappointed. Its really convenient to have a local shop that has parts(chargers, controllers, cables etc.) for older game systems, whats disappointing is they wont sell you a battery to fix a game, but they also tell you that theyre not taking repair orders (which is advertised on the wall as a service they offer). I want to support local business, but they wont provide the advertised service to fix it, and wont sell you a battery so you can do it yourself, its kind of absurd. So Im going to just pick some up from Amazon. Which I hate doing that when local companies are still around to compete. The employees really need to brush up on their customer service skills. I called earlier and spoke with someone that had next to no knowledge of their products or services and seemed very confused throughout the call consistently saying I dont know, I went in later to speak to someone in person and they were dismissive and cantankerous. I found some on facebook marketplace in case anyone else is looking for some. I only paid $1.50 per battery and its very easy to install yourself. Cheers.
