My first time at this place. The restaurant is small but dont let that fool you. I ordered the soft/corn tortilla beef tacos. This came with a small side of rice and beans with chips. The tacos tasted great with enough seasoning. The salsa was spicy enough as well. This place has other food options on the menu like burritos, tacos, pasole, etc. There are many drink options as well.
My continuous search for good sangria brought me to an unexpected place that my wife told me about after she visited so off we went.I hadnt been to Taco Amigo in a long time when they were smaller but since then have expanded which is nice to see. I remember the owner from before being friendly and informative about the different menu options and even though he was busy in the kitchen he still came out and spoke to customers which is nice and something he still does.We ordered a pitcher of sangria which has fruit, triple sec and a very generous amount of brandy. The sangria was Oh so good!, it wasnt too sweet and diluted with Sprite or Cider and had plenty of fruit flavour and there was plenty of brandy in it to give you a nice wake up to the system. The sangria was very smooth and refreshing and after a pitcher you are left with a nice toasty buzz. This was a very good sangria that had everything you need with its fruity taste and a nice punch of alcohol. The first time I came here I tried their wet burrito and really enjoyed it. This time around we ordered the chorizo tacos and the quesadillas to share between the 2 of us.The tacos are made with corn and come with nachos, rice and beans. The tacos were nice and fresh and well made to hold all the filling of chorizo, salsa, onion and jalapeno. The chorizo had a nice flavour of paprika and delcious fat flavour which helps make a good taco. The rice and beans went really well and the addition of nachos is nice and I really enjoyed it with their chili sauce which Ill talk about later. The quesadillas were also really made with plenty of meat and cheese and being in the corn tortilla is definitely worth getting. I enjoyed how moist the meat was and with the addition of their chili sauce and sour cream you have yourself a happy meal.Let me mention their chili sauces. There are 3 different sauces on the table at a different level of spice. The flavour coming out of each of them was really good especially the spiciest sauce which I put on nearly every bite of what I ate and could have drank it.This is easily a regular sangria spot that Ill visit and eating some good Mexican food with it is always a great combination.
I have really liked this restaurant for quite some time now. The flavors are good and the staff that was there for several years was really nice. However, the portions have changed to be a little lackluster than I have remembered over the last three years. The staff even forgot I was dining in the restaurant even when I was only customer there and made me uncomfortable despite visiting after a few months. I will have to reconsider coming back. This restaurant is more like a 3.5 but I want to give them a benefit of the doubt as a business during this tough pandemic that they can bounce back to the highee standard I expect of them.
Ordered food to go. The green burrito was good. Will order again.
Definitely one of the better Mexican food restaurants in Seoul. Good and authentic Mexican food can be hard to come by in Seoul, but if you’re craving it, this is the spot. The menu is quite comprehensive. While I’ve had a few different food items here, the chilaquiles and tacos are my favorite. They also have horchata and jamaica. While there is hot sauce on the table, the reallllly good sauce you have to ask for. It’s no extra charge, so be sure to ask for the extra sauce bottle. For the sides with the tacos you can get French fries or rice and beans. Without question, go for the rice and beans. The prices are a little steep to be honest. Two tacos, rice and beans, and jamaica for about 17-18,000 KRW, around 16-17$. Still, worth the price if you’re looking for authentic Mexican food in Seoul. Also very close to the station. Just leave Itaewon station out of exit 4, do a 180 and walk down the street going south for about two minutes. This place is a favorite of mine and I will continue to go back.
Yummmmm 🤤 would defo go again
The food was great, however, the service was extremely slow as we ended up waiting about 30-35 minutes for a table of two, and the restaurant was only half full.
One of the oldest Mexican restaurants in Korea. Location is great close to the subway station and on the main street.Been there several times during more than ten years it has been open. Menu, interior and food quality has been about the same. Mostly foreigners eat here and it feels like you are outside korea, unlike the other resturants filled with large groups of koreans and couples that go eat just because of the hype or some blog. The good:- Large portions,- Nachos are the best (thin salty and crispy)- Delicious orchataThe bad:- No fresh salsa :(- Rice has no flavor :(- Chorizo has a very weak flavor :(
The food portions were generous, the tacos balanced, the burritos big and the owner did not chintz out on the sauces. All in all, it was a decent Mex. American meal. Unfortunately we had to eat it soggy not fault of the owner as I had a long drive.
Good taste but it takes a little while to be served
Great place to get good Mexican food in Korea.
Im from Los Angeles and I grew up eating Mexican food. This place is solid and really hits the spot for me. Glad to have found it!Ive only been ordering delivery because of Covid, and everything arrives still hot and fresh. I imagine food in the restaurant is even better. 5 stars.
Awful experience. The food was just okay, but the manager was memorable in the worst way. He was audibly irritated and condescending to all of the staff members and it was extremely uncomfortable. He even mentioned to someone else that the base level tacos werent good. We couldnt get out fast enough
Estaba muy rico, loved the food. They have authentic Mexican food. Definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone stopping by.
I wish there was more taste in general, specifically in the cheese.
Second time we’ve been in three weeks. Nice variety of Tex-Mex dishes reasonably priced and delicious. Margueritas are tasty too!
They have everything a vegan needs with all the sassy spice your taste buds can get! 👀
Always a good Mexican restaurant, amazing food, friendly staff, and great location!
Finally some real Mexican food!
Authentic mexican. I went here with my mexican friend she said the food was good but nothing like a home cooked meal.
A place will will for sure go again to. There is a huge amount of Mexican food. It looks and tastes Mexican and it is run by Mexican people. Super tasty and stomach filling.
Its been a very long since Ive had tacos. This place really hit the spot! The meals tasted authentic and everything was really delicious. The atmosphere was pretty laid back but the staff was friendly. Will definitely be going back there.
I love Taco in here.
Decent food, reasonable prices. Good if you fancy some non Korean food for a change. Portion sizes are good and they sell beer too.
Not too bad, but not worth the price. A full meal without drink is 14.500. Their fajitas have mostly rice and very little meat.EDIT: The owner states they do not use rice in their fajitas. Probably he is right. I just found it has too little meat, and that the overall taste does not match the price. The staff was very kind though, which I forgot to say. Portions are very big, as other reviewers have stated.
This food is far superior to any other Mexican restaurant in Seoul. The vegan options are delicious, and there are so many options. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant is clean and has a great atmosphere. I will be returning.
Best non Korean food spot in Korea. We went here three days in a row. The Mexican food is authentic and the service is great. The most friendly waitress on my travels. The food was so so good.
Food was amazing! Ordered grande nachos with chicken, and it was so filling I took the leftovers back to my hostel. The host offered us free lemonade (which was also freshly squeezed) and fries because the kitchen lost our order. Will definitely go back.
Overall it is a good place. They offer a variety of food and drinks. I had chicken tacos and they were just fine. Latin music and friendly staff. The place is a little small, but still okay.
If youre looking for real authentic Mexican fare while in Seoul, Taco Amigo is the one. Wayne and his awesome South American team of servers and cooks will spoil you. The food is amazing, the drinks divine. Try the Mole and the Fajitas. It was so good, i went there every week with my Mexican buddy! Enough said!
Definitely the best Tex-Mex style Mexican food in Korea. Tons of vegan and vegetarian options as well.I grew up in Austin Texas and I know my Mexican food. Ive also lived in Korea for 10 years and know Koreas version of it. This is probably the closest to authentic Tex-Mex that you will be able to find in Korea. Its also has a large vegan selection including some fake meat products so you can pretty much order anything on the menu that you want meet free. Food is super delicious salsa selection is large and really good too. Highly recommended.
Food was great, they have vegan options. You can choose either mushrooms in place of meat or soy mock meat alternatives. Many things can be made vegan. They also have vegan cheese. They give actual spice to the food and the portions are a nice size. Will be going back.
Good, but a little of a dive. No chips and salsa for starters. Service was great. Price was reasonable.
Best Mexican Ive had in Seoul, and Ive been all over. The menu if very customizable with plenty of vegan options to make your meal just right. Food is great, portions are large, and staff is super friendly. What more could you ask for?
Food is AMAZING!!!!! Not just good, it is authentic. Service is descent too. We are definitely going back! Oh, my Horchata..... I cant wait to go back to Taco Amigo.
Best Mexican restaurant that weve eaten at in a long time. Friendly staff and fantastic food. Comfortable atmosphere adds to the experience.
Best Mexican food Ive had in Korea in over 7 years. Friendly staff. Large portions (for Korea) at reasonable prices. Big menu.
Delicious Taco. reasonable price with rice
Best Mexican restaurant in Korea
I have been going there since 2008. Food is above average Mexican fare. Reliable quality food. I especially enjoy the soft corn tacos and the chicken mole.
Ill give it 2 stars simply because they had some unique things on the menu that I typically dont see at Mexican restaurants in Korea. With that being said, this place was a total let-down. I ordered the mole chicken. The mole sauce itself was decent, but the chicken was literally like rubber - I felt like I was chewing on an eraser. I basically had to cut the chicken into tiny pieces and swallow them whole because it was so tough. Definitely wouldnt go back, as there are far better options around Seoul for Mexican food.
I lived in Korea for 3 years and I think in my quest to get my Mexican fix this is probably the most authentic tasting place that I found. You have a few options in itaewon but this is the only place thats not Fusion. I was never disappointed when I went there everything I tried was delicious. I cant say to that alcoholic beverages though because I I never got one whenever I went there but my friend said they were light handed so bare that in my. The food definitely reasonably priced especially for itaewon.
I must have hit it on a off day I just came from Nevada last month, the flour tortillas were mediocre and tasted and looked like mass produced store bought and the rest of the meal was okay but for the price and quality I was not impressed. The only thing that would bring me back the the house smoked chili sauce it was amazing. But the main course was lack luster. If the price was about 2/3 to 3/4 the price Id give it a solid three stars. It took a solid hour to get our food for a group of 5. Its a decent place to grab lunch if you can afford to wait but its not a place Id ever go out of my way again to eat at other than to try to see if they would sell the house sauce by itself.
Excellent! They have excellent food and a sombrero for people to wear for birthday parties. They even allowed each person in our group of 13 people to pay seperately without any hassle. Also has English speaking staff with superb service. Great place and would highly recommend it!
Really helpful staff. I found them to be really accommodating especially that I have so many food restrictions. Really good simple fare that has a lot of flavor period with lots of vegan and vegetarian options.
Less than prestigious. The beef fajitas were good but no refried beans. The margaritas were excellent! I would revisit.
Reasonably priced and delicious Mexican food. Ive been there a number of times and Im never disappointed.
My first time visiting was pleasant but I came in on my birthday this past April to give my mother in law her first experience with Mexican food and I looked foolish.. the service was mediocre- they brought our drinks out wrong and still charged us for their mistake, and then the food was bland and cold. They were relatively busy, so I can understand some mishaps here and there, but I dont think that shouldve compromised the taste of the food 😣 so sad because now the search for authentic Mexican food in Seoul begins again.
Its decent. Not the authentic mexican, but still worth trying.
Great vegan options here. Regular Mexican dishes, but you can choose spicy soy ‘meat’ or mushrooms and vegan cheese. Good chips and beans.
Excellent quality food, really good prices, super staff, great owners, and the best homemade hot sauces Ive had in Seoul. Ive been going there for over a decade & always happier when I leave than when I walked in. Cheers!
Great food, especially good vegan food that is easy to order without making crazy substitutions
Such great service, authenticity, atmosphere, and most importantly amazing food. Had to visit twice on the same day and may have to go again tomorrow. A must visit!
I was thoroughly satisfied with my vegetarian barrito meal. The soy steak was delicious and the freshly squeezed lemonade was much appreciated in the july heat. Love, love, love it and as someone who loves Mexican food I believe taco amigo hit it right on the mark.
FANTASTIC! AUTHENTIC MEXICAN!
Great service and food. I have been going off-and-on for years. I know the owner puts his heart and soul into the place.
Good real mexican not americanized mexican
I order a posole before, and it was decent. Then I order steak fajita, it was delicious, but to much onions instead of steak. This is the closet to Mexican food I can get.
The place is updated, since the days of it being a kind of hole in the wall (which good American Mexican places often are). Much brighter and spacious. Food is a bit pricier too, yet certainly the authentic flavor for us who crave it.
Amazing food and atmosphere. Food was really seasoned and made me so happy.
A taco restaurant located near Itaewon Station. Tastes just like other Mexican food restaurants. Has a large volume just like any other Mexican restaurants. They have their toilet outside the store.
The staff was super nice and the food was amazing, can definitely recommend!!
The staff is supper friendly and helpful.I tried only burrito, and it was good. The portion is big.
Best mexican food I have ever ate..All the foods over there are really awesome and the restaurant is also great for a vegan person.People over there are also great..I loved it.
Great vegetarian Mexican food! The fajita burrito is phenomenal and their soy meats are quite tasty
Will not visit again. First time when we asked for vegan cheese, we didn’t get vegan cheese. We thought we should try again, and this time when we asked for quesadilla with just cheese, they said it was not possible. Our kids can’t eat the spice that’s in the mushroom or tofu. We would have paid extra for just cheese quesadilla. We ended up cancelling order and going to another restaurant. Lost our business for lack of customer service.
So happy to have found this incredible mexican restaurant! Delicious food, vibrant environment! I spend a great time there!
Amazing staff and food! Vegan options available. Good prices!
Grear tex mex
Remodeled! Best Mexican at fair PricesExcellent new venue, clean, modern, comfortable seating and large enough for a few groups now. Ill miss the intimacy of the old space but its a fitting and needed follow-up! Same high quality Mexican fare07/2015 Review: Dont know why some claim the owner is rude. Hes curt, but fair and even generous with mistaken orders and regularly chitchats with customers.
Probably one of the closest thing to a Mexican restaurant in Seoul. Great place. Great food.
Food is good. I must say the service here is poor if there is more than two people seatead in the whole place. Orders will get forgotten and if you order water you will not get a good portion. Other people will get better service for being dressed better than you. I came in sweatpants and so did my wife. We ordered before three seperate tables and got our food last. On top of that it was not the whole order. Cant say I will ever come back honestly.
This is one of my favorite tex-mex places outside the US! They nail the food. Everything is delicious! And the drinks are great too!
The food here is great. Theres amazing staff and good atmosphere.
