Worst place to buy sod from!I purchased 2 pallets of bahia sod and it was delivered a few days later. The sod came mostly with dry dirt and dry grass.When I try to take a piece out it just falling apart. In other places this will be trash that they would dispose but this place chose to deliver it to me instead of throwing it.When I contacted them the lady there said they are not willing to take it back or exchange it that it sold without warranty which they basically know they sale garbage so they dont want to stand behind their products.Complete waste of time and money working with them.Going through reviews I see it happens often in this place of business.Im canceling the charge with my credit company.Do your self a favor and shop elsewhere.

Their customer service is far above expectation and their pricing (estimates) is most competitive. I’ll be choosing them based on the customer service alone. Thank you, Kasey! You took your time after hours, walked my property, and even spotted issues based on your knowledge of horticulture that will benefit my yard regardless of my choice to use your company. This is customer service I find only in small towns were a persons word actually means something. I look forward to working with this company.

Couldnt find rocks for landscaping anywhere cheaper. So glad I went to this place. The staff and employees were very friendly and helpful. Ill be coming back!

I have St. Augustine-Floratam grass which is susceptible to chinch bugs and I needed a few sod pieces to replace the damaged grass. I went to Sod Depot to take a look at their inventory and I recieved the best customer service. They took their time to understand my needs and provided me with great quality sod. I will be going back for additional sod pieces.

Sod was fresh from the day before, which means some dried-out pieces on the top of the pallet and the sun-facing pallet sides, where pieces laid-over the edges. The rest of my story...I purchased 5 pallets of Zoysia Empire this month (March 2021). I calculated my coverage needs plus 10% though ended up using every piece and still need 5 pieces more. Not sure how I ended up short as this is not my first landscaping project. My issue is I cannot find 5 pieces of Zoysia sod in the Orlando market to fill in the dirt area in my front yard. SodDepots response is go to Facebook Messenger; someone always has left over sod. Not the case now. How about helping your customer out and make this a 5-Star review by selling me 5 pieces, please?

I paid Sod Depot to lay 1200 sq ft of St Augustin, they did not butt the seams together, they laid it with large gaps between and laid it on top of other pieces. The grass was dry and brown, it looked like it had been cut a week ago and baked in the sun. I have been watering it a lot but a lot of it still looks dead.

Drove 40mins up there to buy sod for a job im doing and what do you know they are closed when it states they are open till 12. Obviously not a very professional business.

This holiday break I had a backyard remodel and Sod Depot came to the rescue with having the Sod and Rock available in the amounts I needed. Great customer service.

They have some pretty good St. Augustine Classic Sod. Occasionally, I stop in and buy a few pallets from time to time. Always good customer service.

Excellent customer service! Called day before to reserve my sod. They called me next day (just like they said they qould!) To let me know my sod was rrady. Pulled up and was loaded and back on road in under 10 minutes. Oh yeah the sod is amazing!

Absolutely the worst company for customer service. I initially purchased 2 pallets of St Augustine Palmetto. The quality of the sod was good and flourishing. Then purchased 7 additional pallets and that was where the problems began. I was sent 7 pallets of old brown and yellow sod that would have been thrown away at any other company. It was raining the day of delivery and I ddint get a chance to really check the sod. I did notice that the quality was nowhere near the same. Anyway after laying a couple of pallets, it became evident that the sod was rubbish. I contacted the company and spoke to a Manager named Amy. She was the most rude person I have encountered in a long time. She would not listen to my complaint and kept reiterating to me that I had fresh sod deivered that was cut that very same day, which was impossible bearing in mind the state of the product. Its been a week and a half now and my lawn is still dry and brown despite watering everyday. Stay clear of this company, once they have your money they dont care about you.

I ordered 1500 sq ft.. One of the pallets was excellent.. the other two seemed to be repackaged old grass with some good pieces on top.. much of the dirt cut off which was totally unacceptable.I had to search for good pieces which slowed me down a lot..What should of been a one day job turned into two days of work because they were closed..I had one of the pallets replaced by average grass but the guy made me re stack the shitty pieces back on the pallet.. which Im guessing they sold to some other sucker..They didnt apologize or give me any kind of refund and now I have chucks of dead grass because some of the grass was installed without any dirt underneath because we didnt notice until some pieces were already installed

Normally sod was good quality, but recently received pallet that was full of weeds and fungus. Sod depot would not replace with another pallet. Other pallets were delivered with brown patch. Take more effort to treat then should be needed. Sod should free of diseases and pests. Will not use sod depot again.11/18/2020Not going to get into a battle here. Your response claims I do not know what anything about sod or diseases. A degree in turf and landscape management and been in the industry for 20 + years. Sod was terrible and did call multiple times to request replacement pallet. Talked to branch manager and requested a call back from owner. No response from owner. At this point I am done, sod depot needs to fix issues and learn better customer service.

We had a very good experience with Sod Depot. When they brought our 7 pallets, unfortunately one pallet was crushed during transportation. They were awesome and said that they would bring a new pallet after the weekend. We ended up not needing the 7th pallet so they worked with us to get it refunded. Would highly recommend Sod Depot.

My sod was rich and healthy! Buying sod in florida is always a sandy mess, but sod depot had rich black soils and the roots were very established. Im very impressed with both the product and the customer service. I own a landscaping company and will remain a loyal customer. The best part was the customer service. I talked to Casey and she was very pleasant and very knowledgeable. Sod has always been a hit or miss. If the same quality and customer service persists, I will never go elsewhere! Thanks sod depot!

At first I had a little disappointment because my order was messed up and I did not receive it on the delivery day. The lady on the phone was quite courteous and the owner provided a very reasonable offer to make up for the mishap. I was disappointed but i could tell it was an honest mistake. They handled it very well despite my grumpiness. When the sod arrived, I was extremely impressed with the quality. It is lush green St Augustine with thick dirt/root system. It looks beautiful. I would use this company again.

I was a a bit larry because of the negative reviews. The first phone call the customer service sounded mean, but by all means this was not how the transactions went. Super knowledgeable and generous. When I picked up the sod, it looked dead (dormant). Honestly, I dont think I could be more happy.

Best sod in town. I have called many sod dealers and questioned their Bahia sod going through this drought and they all said just wait till it starts raining because the sod is thin and dry. Well, I need the sod now to get my house ready to sell and SOD DEPOT delivered with the thickest root system, no ants, and lush green grass!

This is the last time I am dealing with this place.... they are always rude no customer service skills... Spoke with them Wednesday and was told to be able to pickup a sod MONDAY MORNING need to pay Friday. Now here we are Monday morning no sod, they can not tell me when the truck will arrive could be after lunch time!!!! When I explained what I was told on Wednesday and that we have a group just wasting their day standing around waiting to lay this sod she said oh ok well nothing I can tell you except I don’t know when the truck will arrive. How about you all should explain to customers at the time of purchase that sod will not arrive until afternoon so they can decide if they want to proceed. We are in Florida who the hell wants to lay sod in the heat of the day in the afternoon!!!!!

These are by far the worst people to do business with. They came to my house to install 4 pallets of sod, and when they showed up, the guy that came up to me smelt like alcohol . His name was Lou . They kept peeing on the side of my house . One guy left toilet paper behind my shrubs.UPDATE: I reported this activity to lou by calling his phone. But if you have ever done business with them before, you no he doesn’t answer the phone. . I don’t drink at all . But I think they were drinking on the job. Yes I have met Lou, very disrespectful people. Then when I was inside paying his wife kept talking to me and by the time I left she was trying to get my number. I told her I was married. Be awareLike I said very Rude people. I called him and he wanted me to come to his shop and fight him. Grow up Lou .

Thanks Sod Depot for 2 pallets of quality Bahia Sod. Excellent customer service and very friendly and helpful staff. Big thanks to their loader who was patient while I loaded half of the pallet in the bed of my truck. Then they saved me by supplying me with their air hose to fill my trailer tires as they went flat from not using it as much with the heavy load. Thanks again!

The staff during the ordering process were friendly and professional. The guy that delivered the sod was great - communicated with me very well and was extremely accommodating. The product pricing is great. The only issue I had was the quality of a good portion of the sod, which was extremely dry, falling apart, and unusable. It was a challenge to just simply pick the pieces up as they would disintegrate. Because I paid for it, I still laid some of it down and tried to use it but, despite my efforts, it didn’t root. The rest of the sod was fine and rooted. Grass is unpredictable and it happens, I suppose. I would recommend them.

Ive been here twice and misjudged my timing this last time. The guy lou was locking up at 4 and when i asked him if he was closing he unlocked the gates and doors and got me a pallet of grass with no hesitation. Thats what i call great customer service. Owning a business myself i know its a lot of work and im sure he was ready to go home. Grass has always been great quality and they have been very quick to get me the products both times. Happy with the product. Customer service could use some work. I called to add a pallet to my order, then called back to switch to higher quality shade tolerant grass (higher price) and was told I was causing them alot of work... Ive never had a company get annoyed with a customer because they to have run a card again.....when I am paying more! Oh well. Happy with the grass atleast.

The lady that answers the phone seems as though she was raised in a barn and has no inclination of how human interaction works. The unpleasantries started immediately and she seemed offput that I would have questions regarding my grass order. We dont do delivery windows, she chortled. Ok, guess I will keep my entire Friday open in the event I need to be there for the delivery, which again I was nervous to ask as it would require the barn-woman to do more work. So as the clock ticked past 5PM on my delivery day, again I kept a whole Friday open, I gave them a call to see where the order might be but alas, barn woman was off to pasture I suppose. Perhaps one day Ill get my grass.

I was forced to get sod from them due to short notice. The one positive thing is they had some on hand. The down side to it was They wanted top dollar for what I would consider sub-par sod at best . The reason why I say its sub par is because it had weeds growing in it, other types of grass and several pieces were palling apart before they even came off the pallet. I would recommend you go someplace else

Very nice people, had sod done at my home a few weeks back, had a few companies quote me prices, after talking to the lady about certain grass types which she was very knowledgeable about each I picked out the right one the next week laid the sod looks great nice people would recommend getting sod!

The grass was falling apart in our hands.. you can tell it had been stacked on pallet too long. They won’t give you a delivery tome frame & you have to beg for a receipt. They are cheap but I wish I went elsewhere & saved a headache.

I called Friday to ask when I should expect a delivery to be told very rudely the delivery driver will notify me when hes 30 minutes out. I waited all day Friday from 10:30 till 5 called the sod Depot back and of course they are closed ...called them on Monday to be told I was left several voicemails that I didnt respond to?? Hmmm no. Not possible since I spoke directly with someone from The sod Depot after receiving a VM and you think as I was waiting all day Friday I would have noticed calls and a voicemail. No apologies just more customer blaming. Ill take the refund and work with a company where customers are priority.

Ordered from this company on Monday and received a confirmation of same for delivery on Friday. Yard has been prepped, my wife and I both arranged our schedules, as well as hired some help to lay sod over the weekend. Received another confirmation Friday morning -- yet no delivery. Called and spoke with Charity and she advised me that owner is at hospital with his son and she will call him, as the order would have gone directly to him when placed on-line. After a few back and forth phone calls, she then advised me their system had been struck by lightning on Monday -- truly, nonsensical since I received a confirmation on Friday morning at 7:39 that my order was Completed -- she agreed it made no sense. Yes, they offered to deliver on Tuesday, which does not help since we cannot put the sod down in the middle of the week due to work conflicts or they will cancel our order We opted for the latter, as it is my belief that how it starts is how it will end . Looks like from other reviews, it is like rolling the dice as to what you will get with this company -- hope your are luckier than we -- Buyer Beware!

Called on 8/14 to order sod for Monday 8/17. Was told would have the sod Monday morning. Called when opened on Monday to see when sod would be delivered only to be told they dont deliver sod in the mornings. They cut the sod in the morning and deliver in the afternoon. Asked when I could get the sod on Monday afternoon, was told between 11:00 and 1:00. I have 2 people that I am paying to help lay sod so when 1:15 comes and the sod isnt there I call. Instead of telling me when the sod would be there I catch a attitude and was told that it was my problem that I should of thought about it. Cancelled order, was refunded money and will get sod elsewhere.

Will never buy from this place...nobody acknowledge me when i walked in, the two ladies behi d desks had a bar attitude, was told right away.. today is a bad day and if you looking for sod, well no sod for at least over a week....bad business !!!!

After making my first order (1 pallet) they showed up a day early with 4 pallets of the wrong grass. If I have not been home they would have left it.Two days later they delivered my correct order. I found nothing wrong with it and decided a larger order was ok.So I ordered 4 more pallets (stupid!) I took a day off from work to install 4 pallets. As of 2 PM - no grass. I called and got Oh we have a new driver, theyre loading the pallets now I replied that would only leave me 2 hours before dark (its winter) the gentleman at Sod Depot chuckled and said Yeah!.At 4 PM they showed up. 4 pallets of St Augustine, purportedly cut that morning.Some of the sod pieces were 2 feet long, some 4 feet long, some had 1.5 inches of a dirt base, on others their blade had cut through the roots of the grass and the pieces simply fell apart when lifted. One pallet had nice pieces on top but the remainder of the pallet appeared to be much older than the others (i.e. dry, browning, blades crisp and dry) NOT cut that day by any means.I finished laying the sod at 10:30 PM that night.Within days Dollar Weeds were growing wild through the sod.Your experience may be better than mine (God willing) but I would encourage you to look at other options. They appear to be very much NOT advocates of customer service. There are, literally, tons of sod dealers in Central Florida, shop around: I wish I had!For my fellow Veterans, consider a Veteran owned Sod Farm. I did not discover one until it was too late.

Delivered when they said they would, sod looked really good and everyone from the front desk person to the truck driver were all very helpful and friendly.

Be aware, received a pallet short of 400 sq ft. called in and get told NOT OUR FAULT! Wow no idea how to deal with customers, this after spending thousands of dollars with them in past 3 months. Taking business elsewhere.
