I love this place since they got rid of Steve! Everyone over there now is very nice and helpful! They have what I need everytime I go over. The owners are very sweet!

Giving it a 3 stars because its not a bad place the people are nice its a bit cleaner then what it use to be and the laundry part looks alot better but the shelves are slim picking and some stuff is out of date oh and it seems like they only gonna stock up when the college students are here which is wrong and a big reason why Im not going back Ill take my business to places that do for the locals and college students

The store is pretty good for the size. Plenty of staples for good prices. Biggest issue I have is the state of the equipment in the Laundromat part of the store. The prices are great compared to others in the area for a wash. $5.75 gets you a massive washer that can handle a weeks worth of laundry in 20 minutes. But beyond that, there are a TON of washers and dryers with sticky notes stating they are out of order. Now I totally understand that things break, but I wasn’t here 3 months ago and just came back to wash a rug and the same washers and dryers are still broken. There’s still plenty to go around but after 3 months I would have expected them to fix them. All in all, it’s no frills and gets the job done and I have no complaints with how clean my laundry got.

The new owners fired Steve, a long time employee for absolutely no reason. Would rate 0 stars if possible. Bring back Steve!

Love the owner and people that work there, but not a very good place to shop unless your just interested in alchohol, alot of stuff on shelves is out of date, and some stuff in coolers dont taste right, kinda dirty looking, and not much there

Only reason Im giving 3 stars instead of 1 is for the cashiers that are actually nice. Twice in a row I was spoken to rudely by one of the staff, never caught his name. Basically he would make me regret coming in with his comments. Also have you seen the sign lately? Its rotted and falling off. The other sign says you have an atm, all the times Ive been in there there wasnt one, thats false advertising. Theres hardly anything to speak of worth buying too

Total dive of a store with little to no selection. It is in a good location, but needs renovations....and inventory.

It’s a really good store and I love the employees and has a very big variety of items and also a great laundry mat and has made really amazing renovations to improve the store and I love the location near the university. Also the apartments are pretty good too and affordable and the owners are very nice.

Honestly Steve is just the best. Laundry service is good. I get a snack and a drink and sit down and do my laundry. Go every weekend

Thriftway is my favorite place in Orono to buy alcohol. The prices are very fair and the staff is very friendly. They also treat their regulars very well, such as myself. Not a higher variety of food items, but I dont shop here for that purpose. It serves a good liquor store for me

Nothing much to buy there except Cold Beer and if your lucky they may have your cigarettes. Cold inside and so is there Laundromat.

Its a little dark and dingy looking on the inside, but the darkness is due mostly to the building design and window placement. While the owners would benefit from a better cleaning and maintenance crew the selection here is pretty decent and includes some specialty foods that you cant find elsewhere.

The store has a variety of items to choose from as well as ethnically different options. It is a great place to shop.

Convenient location - close to campus and just off of the trail behind the Emera Astronomy Center. Good selection of food, beverages, liquor and home/personal care items. Staff is friendly.

Dingy store with limited selection and higher prices than Hannaford and Bells Orono IGA. Still, it is in a location that is convenient to student housing at UMaine.

Open late nights and the only place in Orono to buy Indian chappathis and porottas which are the two main to things about this place that I like most.

Best place to shop for groceries around University of Maine Orono.Sells Full line of groceries, Asian Food, and Fresh Halal Meat.

Great family oriented business. Owners go out of their way to accommodate needs of local families and UMO Students. Friendly atmosphere for all walks of life. Also carries larrge inventory of ethnic foods such as Halal meats. Special orders filled.

Great place along the way to find that thing you forgot to get. Wonderful staff, and great prices on everything tobacco.

Love the people who own it and it is close to home so we dont have to leave Orono for something quick for dinner.

Got spoken to quite rudely. Was told that theres not a store around that will let you carry a pint around so I went to Hannaford and did just that. Very rude service, will not be giving this business my business any longer.

Good place for quick shopping and when you need just couple of things and dont wanna go far. If you are nearby, you can grab a beer
