I have given ADT one star, because Google did not allow me to hit Post with 0 stars.First I called their number to try to get information about their products, and possibly even schedule a consultation. The salesperson was very knowledgeable, but just kept telling me EVERYTHING that ADT could POSSIBLY do. But any time I would ask a question or try to move the conversation along, he would say, Well dont worry about it, the decisions will all be made once the on-site consultant is at your house. So basically, this person was wasting my time just so he could hear himself talk.I then saw that I had a coupon for ADT, so I thought Maybe I will actually use their services. Then the salespeople started knocking on my door. Ive had two here in the last week. The first one wasnt terrible, but the second was frankly obnoxious. He kept trying to ask personal questions to try to keep me talking, and when I said I would take his card and think about it, he suggested that I was throwing my money away by not working with him RIGHT NOW.So far, Ive had three interactions with this company, and two of them have been in the top 10 of worst customer service experiences I can remember. And this is from salespeople. At this point, I consider ADT to be my last resort for security services.

We have been with ADT for over 20 years. We pay monthly and did not pay attention to it until we saw other people can check their alarm system with their phone. So for the last 5 years, we have been asking ADT for mobile app to check our alarm system. And ADT says that we have to upgrade. So, today, after waiting for 3 hours for them to come to upgrade. After the upgrade, we could not use the mobile app because we have to register. I called customer service, they said that we need to add additional feature which is ADT Pulse to use the mobile app. We have to pay to add this ADT Pulse. This is a ripped off company.

Dont do it, pushy salesperson that says you can decide what you want to do and review the products if they send a technician out. Then when out they hand you an iPad to start signing a long contract, the technician couldnt answer questions about the contract when I asked... I was told two years but its actually three. My technician couldnt install everything then, needed to call HVAC for an additional fee. The door alarms are annoying, only two options of a chime or robot saying door open. When we realized we didnt want this system there is only a three day window to cancel. So now we either have to pay 75% of three years to cancel or keep it. Also- even though my signed contract is now void because of their mistake, I still dont qualify to cancel and they want me to sign new docs.Really disappointing.

Ive had multiple sellers from them come to my house and try and pressure me into using them. Regardless of saying not interested, the sales pitch continues.Im guessing they work on contingency, which is always a sign of a poorly run company. If they have to threaten pay for their employees to get them to apply that pressure to potential customers, I want nothing to do with them. Ever.

Let me tell you how I got robbed by this atrocious, untrustworthy company.In Jan of 2018 I bought my first house. In both mail and in person, I received numerous offer on getting an ADT security system. Given the area I was in. I thought why not.There was a promotion at the time. 15 devices and a home-pad for free. There were a few other things, but I don’t remember. The Ad is in a moving box somewhere.Anyways, you’d think I got the promotion right? Wrong! You’d loose that bet. I literally had to pay for everything.The devices I got for my home were 15 windows devices, home-pad, broken glass detector, motion sensor, hand-held arm/disarm pad and the sensor that goes on the outside of the house to show police the location. I also got fire/CO/Co2 sensors. But only because I thought the normal devices were free. The Motion sensor stopped working after 3 months and the Outside sensor stopped after the first year.The lady on the phone told me I had 90 days to cancel if I decided the system wasn’t right for me.The moment of Lies: Day of installation.When the guy that installed all my devices finished. I asked him if there was a contract and if so for how long. He said 1 year. Wrong! ADT uses ADT Auth/Contractors to install the system which hold the contract for 1yr. After that Actual ADT takes over for another 2 years. So, it’s a 3 year contract.Now for my first bill:Thinking I only had the Fire alarms to pay for. Which was around $2500. That’s all I was billed right?!. Wrong again! My total for the bill was over $5100. The charged me for everything. The promotion I wanted was not given to me. I fought diligently to no avail. Same answer every time. Nothing could be done.I called wanting to cancel and At the same time, I had a massive engine repair. Two huge costs one of which I shouldn’t have had to pay for and oh my God. Money had never been so tight for me during that first year.For the first 3 months ADT splits your bill. Mine came to be around $1700. They wouldn’t let me cancel the subscription because it had to be within the first two weeks of installation. If you see above it’s supposed to be 90 days. Just another lie from this greedy company. The only thing they let me do is return the Fire alarms which dropped my bill to about $2100 or $700 for 3 months.To actually cancel. You have to pay 75% of what remains of the 3 year contract. They have two packages. $27.99 and $52.99 at back in 2018 they did. You’ll roughly pay between $1100-$1900 for you 3 year contract.This company will tell you how much the support Troops/Vets. Really?! You do?! I’m Ex-Navy honorably discharged due to medical reasons and I still got screwed over. They even tried telling me about done discount with having USAA Another lie. Where was that when I first signed up. Now that my 3 year contract is done. A massive burden has been lifted.

If I could put 0 stars I would. We are unexpectedly moving, 1 month after getting our system installed. We called to have the system moved to our new home, and we were told that the systems cannot be transferred between homes, that we had to leave the $1500 system here at our old house. We are just out of luck and have to keep paying our monthly installments for that system while purchasing another one for the new house that I have to also pay monthly payments on or else I owe $2000 in cancellation fees. We called and got passed around for over 3 hours between 8 different people. EXTREMELY POOR customer service, I feel like this was a scam. The sales person compared the system to water heater and it being something that should be sold with the house. Which I feel is extremely inaccurate, this is more similar to a computer, half my system is not even hard wired in and they are making me buy new items to replace those.

ADT is the Kirby vacuum sales of the home security systems. They keep sending door-to-door salesmen (and yes, they are all men) to harass us into buying their system. I Will NEVER buy your system. So stop hounding me.

These guys are crooks, make you enter long term contacts and make you pay no matter what happens in your life. If you love you have to pay for a new system. They dont tell you any info. Like true con artists

At first this system seemed to put me at ease since I have a two year old and my husband works a lot. Three months later and the system is nothing but trouble. I call to try to get them to come out because their system is just malfunctioning. An alarm I do not have was going off saying it was broken. The person I talked to emailed me a picture of the what I’m suppose to have. I do not. She says if it happens again to call and they will send someone out for free to fix it. Same month it’s going off again I call and they wanna charge me $35 for coming out to fix it. I try explaining the whole situation, they tell me nothing can be done unless I pay. They also tell me my warranty is out. The first time I called I was still in warranty but now am not. This company is all about taking money and not so much protecting your home. I tried to speak with a supervisor and he just kept repeating himself saying he understood my frustration but needed the money first. So I email corporate and they tell me they would be happy to come fix it for $25. I am just so unhappy with ADT customer service. I’m locked in for a year paying every month for a system that doesn’t work. The whole system is now on silent because I get 100 alarms in one day. I’ve gotten two different prices for someone to come out and fix a problem that is out of my hands and nothing I did. It’s not a lot of money that they are asking I just don’t understand why I need to pay for their malfunction. Not to mention they came to my door and asked to put their system in my house. I would not recommend this company to anyone.Just looked at other reviews and I have no confidence that my issue will be resolved. I am seeing the same issues happen with other people just two days ago!!! This company has absolutely no customer service. ADT is repeat the same saying to everyone leaving their horrible experiences. They just “insert name here”. Again to not waste your time and money with this company.

I feel ripped off. My cameras are not recording any events and my doorbell will not connect to my wifi. Even with a wifi booster. ADT is supposed to be of high quality and feel like i received junk products. Theyll blame it on your internet even after you tell them you have strong internet connections throughout the house. No issues with anything else. I should have stuck with my Ring product.Oh, another note. When I called in and got an estimate. I was told itd come with a removable tablet and free camera. Ended up charging me for a camera and got a fixed wall mount. This company is a joke after reading all the other reviews.

I called to cancel our service and was transferred to the cancellation department. I was told that I would be charged another 30 days, even though it is before the end of the billing cycle. That is frustrating, considering if I had told them I was moving this would not have been the case. The most irritating part was that the cancellation specialist got very snippy with me when I argued against it. Poor customer service. Extremely high rates. Despite four years of otherwise reasonable service, we are now unlikely to go back to this company.

The Tech that came was very pleasant and VERY hard working. He showed up on time 9am, and didnt leave until 7pm. He was always upbeat and nice even though he had to troubleshoot for 4hrs. . Hard working and Pleasant Install Tech..

Wonderful system and great installation. They forgot to order or put on a second sensor on my windows that open about two inches for security and air movement. I need a second sensor on the window so it will not sound the alarm in either position. Now they want $15.00 for each window and installation could be waived. If you are buying, do not for get this little item.

Please read all the reviews...the negative ones are all at the end. We have never been so screwed by a company than we were by ADT. Protect Your Home/Defenders straight out lie. The reps/installers tell you not to call Cust Service, to call them directly with any problems. You do that, and you are screwed. It then all becomes your word against the rep. They will not return phone calls or anything. Sorriest situation we have dealt with. Please research other companies....years in business means nothing....the lie, and you will be screwed....big time.

Terrible security system, prices are too high for what it is. Also canceling this costs you an arm and a leg and they make it such a pain, giving you run arounds and rebuttals to get you to stay. If I could rate it lower I would.

They refuse to provide receipts for payments made for their services. I have tried many times with multiple people. Im a business owner and like to keep records of purchases for tax reasons.

I received an employee referral and contacted the sales center. The sales process was pretty painless. Install was very prompt, and the tech was very friendly and informative. I felt like I received stellar service.

Matthew Legg was the sales representative and installer of our system. He was very professional in all that he did, and he was exceptional in his people skills of answering questions and explaining to my and my wifes satisfaction the operation of our system. We still have a few questions, however, these will be with respect to the initial and monthly charges. These questions center around the contract promises reference costs, which gave impetus to our rejoining the ADT organization, and paperwork which has since been received from the ADT headquarters in Indiana.

This is the absolute worst company to deal with !! They will lie to your face about the cost of the equipment the cost of the monitoring system the cost of monthly charges then they will tell you you that you are getting $850 worth of equipment and upgrade equipment for free when in all actuality you will be charged $2,450 for everything then they will tell you if you are unhappy that you can remove the system and cancel the contract. WRONG-LIES!!!! You are now stuck in a 3 year contract and you are stuck paying for all the equipment install charges and monitoring !!!!DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH ADT/PROTECT YOUR HOME AUTH. Never do business with ADT. They make it as difficult as possible to get out of the contract if you move. I moved my mom to a retirement home and Im still jumping through hoops to cancel her service. Beware!

ADT is willing to come out and instal quickly and take your money; but simply asking for them to come out and remove the box with wiring is to much. Poor Customer Service :(

If you read nothing else, read this: ADT will sell your contact info. Dont deal with them.Our system was malfunctioning all the time. It would go off randomly and lose connection to sensors, etc. I got fed up and I cancelled service. During the cancellation the person offered me a new system for free if I signed a three year contract. No. Dont want it. Then they offered me half off my current service for three years if I signed a contract... half off the system that doesnt work. No. Dont be stupid. CancelledHeres the worst part and I think this speaks to the very core of ADT:The day after I cancelled the spam phone calls started. I get six a day now from rando security companies from all across the country . ADT sold my contact info. NOBODY ever gets my cell number because of this and now - the one company that NEEDED my cell number broke my trust and sold my contact info.You suck ADT. Your business practices are horrible. I look forward to the day you go out of business.

WHEN I CALLED TO ORDER AN INSTALLATION I WAS SUBJECTED TO A 25 MINUTE MONOLOUGE THAT SOUNDED MORE LIKE A CARNIVAL BARKERS PITCH. I DECIDED I WAS NOT COMFORTABLE WITH DEALING WITH THESE PEOPLE AND WHEN I CALLED BACK TO CANCEL MY ORDER I RECEIVED A RUNAROUND THAT LASTED ANOTHER 20 MINUTES BEFORE I HUNG UP. I ESCAPED BY CANCELLING THE CREDIT CARD CHARGE.

ADT did not at any point disclose 3 year contract period, and that you are forced to pay 75% of the remaining fees. The contract is show electronically at installation and I dont ever remember seeing 3 years. It is only now when I want to cancel that ADT is telling me Im bound to a 3 year contract.

The worst service. Two technical issues with the system now and each took 4 tech visits to fix. They don’t train their techs and not only do you have to call back and stay on hold forever to get help then explain everything to them all over again, you also pay $25 every time they come back even if it’s their fault!Their answer is you can call customer service and they’ll refund the fee, so more waiting and hassle on the customer. Keep away!
