We worked with Karen and she was fantastic. We had considered purchasing from Cabinets to Go. Karen helped design our island and made some great suggestions. She even checked the specs on our cooktop and made the cabinet 1 larger to ensure it met the cooktop requirements. It would never have looked the way it does without Karen. Highly recommend!
Our remodel project started with design quotes from 5 contractors. Janns design was by far the best, and the middle of the pack on pricing. I liked the fact that my payment through Showplace covered the general contractor, tile contractor, paint, floor, cabinets and stone countertops. I felt i had recourse if one of the contractors didnt do their best. Her design acumen was amazing. Tremendous use of space, excellent tradesmen, and Janns keen eye to ensure that all trades did their best. If it was not, she made sure they did. There were a few calls to contractors to come back and fix or repair. There were a few delays, but these things happen in real life. With any project with lots of moving parts, there are unforeseen problems, or delays.. Factory delays, shipping mistakes, ordering mistakes.... It happens. If you combine these delays with changes we made along the way, deadlines are pushed out.... In the end, the product turned out amazing. Our project was quite large. Removal of a load bearing wall, moving of extensive plumbing and electrical and structural work. Combining of two rooms into 1 large kitchen..... It was several months of work, but the final product is worthy of a magazine. Truly amazing. (In fact we were asked to have our kitchen used in a design magazine photo shoot). We gave her a list of wants and needs and we had several renditions of changes to get what we wanted. It was not the cheapest nor the most expensive. The end goal was to deliver a dream kitchen. Goal Attained. The final litmus test Jann used was: Will this add value to your house if it was too bold, she would tell you it was not a good choice. ( This was confirmed by a few realtor friends of our)Her contractor Tom Echols is a master carpenter with amazing talent. All permits were passed with ease and the work quality and joinery is top notch. I helped with some of the heavy work, and I could see that he is very thorough. Structural, Electrical and Mechanical, Finish Carpentry.. No Problem....Jann has a strong personality, she knows her stuff and is not afraid to tell you., she challenged us several times on what we should do vs what we thought we should do. I often pushed back but l I hate to say it, but she was right, everything turned out AMAZING in the truest sense of the word.. I am not a designer, she is. Jann is a high energy dynamo, but she knows her stuff. Our project added 2-3 times cost of the project in home appreciation value.
I had my kitchen and baths remodeled by Showplace - our designer Jann had very little work as I had already decided what I wanted and how it would be laid out. It took a while and a few reminders to get the quote. I moved into my unit in May and the remodel began. I had no place to store my things so they were in the living room - I made space for the contractors and they were ok with it - not an ideal situation but we made it work. Jann constantly reminded me of the ‘mess’ but there was nothing I could do.I had a contractor that was working - not through Jann - she reprimanded him for not prepping the space like her contractors would - she had no business doing that and referenced how bad he was through the process. I had my closet painted the same color as our bedroom (huge closet) and Jann once again reprimanded me - this time for not painting is the closet white so I could see my clothes better - not her business but it’s part of her personality.I need to say, the contractors were fantastic and did a great job.....if it weren’t for them, I would have lost my mind! There were missing items (some of which I was told were delivered and I would have to pay for again which I refused), the cabinet for my built in was ordered wrong and caused delay. My real issues are with their lack of accounting skills. Whoever does the accounting needs to be FIRED! I was given a quote that was much lower, they asked ME for invoices which shows they have absolutely NO organization or accounting knowledge! Jann told me it was bad - if she knows the guy sucks, then she should have taken care of her customer, kept copies of everything and not gotten me involved! I had to go through every invoice and try and make sense of it - I was double charged on some items and honestly think I was overcharged as my ending balance was far higher than my quote. I am now waiting for a new drawer front (the one I have has been sawed halfway through and some trim. I was told a new drawer front was ordered and asked if I was comfortable putting the new one - after what I spent, I think not!I’m pretty sure I was shafted and though I adored the contractors, I wouldn’t recommend Showplace to anyone. I’ll be interested in seeing how their products hold up. Also, don’t go to Jann’s recommendation for appliances!!!! They are all in cahoots I swear and I got screwed on those too!
Just got Cambria Quartz counter tops and 5 sinks from Showplace in Parker. They did a kitchen and 3 bathrooms. The price was very reasonable and the service from our representative, Lisa Parkinson, was excellent. She coordinated everything and made the entire process painless. Alex, their fabricator and installer, did everything perfect and on time. Could not be happier with the results.
Jenny was great! Design help was friendly and professional.
Unless you have a very high end project, avoid this place at all cost!!!!!!!We started working with Showplace in April of this year for a kitchen cabinet refacing project. Jann, a designer came out to measure and said I would have an estimate by the end of the week. Fast forward to the following week - I had no estimate and had to reach out to her to get it. No problem, people get busy and things get overlooked.Upon finally receiving the pricing we were happy with the cost she had given us and decided to move forward with this company; this is where things started to get frustrating. Jann said the materials were about 6 weeks out, no problem, we understand that everything is made to order. She then stated that the installer was out about two weeks so we should get on his schedule as soon as she orders product. So, I wait and wait to hear from her about getting on the installers calendar. Finally, early May rolls around - I have yet to hear anything about our project so I contact Jann about scheduling. It was then that I realized she likely forgot to contact the installer about our project (but that is just a hunch, not sure if she really did forget).I finally hear from the installer, after a few times of asking Jann about a date we can be ready for and it looks like things are falling into place! Until the delivery of the product.... Jann shows up to check in the product - 15 minutes late. At this time we find that one door is missing - ok, again no problem, things happen. Then the installer shows up, we ended up having two doors that don’t fit the cabinet boxes they belong to, an extra drawer front and three drawers that are the right size. In addition, the hardware we ordered was too big to fit the three small drawers, something you would think a designer would catch during the initial measurement.Mind you, here is what really upset us as customers through this whole process from estimate to the end - Jann continually commented on how small our kitchen is and how it’s such a “tiny” project that install should be a day, two max. When we are paying customers I don’t care how small my kitchen is, treat me as you would any size client. It felt demeaning and rude. All of this said, due to the errors made on the designers part our project lasted an additional two weeks because we had to wait on product that was incorrectly ordered or missing.Lastly, I want to mention Jim who is the manager. I had two instances that I came into the showroom and he didn’t even acknowledge me for a minute or two before asking what I needed. He seemed to be judgmental and pretentious and because I wasn’t a customer dressed to his perceived expectations he expressed disinterest in not only my business but presence. The lack of communication from Jann throughout the process was extremely disappointing, as we were having to reach out to her to figure out the scheduling, where product was and what we could expect. Additionally, our project has now been complete for roughly 3 weeks and we have yet to hear from Jann about the final outcome of our project and our satisfaction. The only communication we’ve received was our invoice, which incorrectly failed to account for our initial $3100 deposit and we subsequently had to dig through credit card statements to prove our initial deposit. We are happy with the final product, and the kitchen looks amazing. We are beyond happy with the installer, Mike - he was simply amazing and the only positive thing I have to say about this pretentious company.Having gone through a whole home remodel beginning in February we have experienced dealing with many vendors and contractors... Without doubt Showplace has been the WORST - had it not been for how awesome our installer Mike was, I would’ve simply ripped out the new doors demanded our money back and started from scratch with another vendor. If you don’t have a significantly sized kitchen, go elsewhere!!!!
