I am type 1 diabetic. If you didn’t know, you can get OTC insulin like Novalin 70/30 very cheap. Always have been (and they don’t usually tell you unless you ask). That’s bc they want you to pay high cost for meds. Well. With everything going on and hearing different things, earlier I went and asked if I could buy Novalin 70/30 and my insulin syringes (which is an off brand cheap OTC insulin about 25$) somehow I was asked to “prove” I had a script for them or diabetic to get it. Not okay. At one point I didn’t have insurance and this is how I made it and it was never an issue. And the guy looked and saw is had my Novalog filled there in the past. So WHY? Even IF they’re doing it bc of illegal drugs, that means they’re forcing people to reuse syringes. Which is far more detrimental. Contacting cooperate. this is not okay. I have insurance and scripts (which I’ll NEVER get filled at any Walmart) but I’d heard they’re doing this now and just wanted to see if it was true. Absolutely horrible. Also, we are one of the states that allows the purchase of OTC syringes. I intentionally wore a tye dye shirt and have tattoos. You could tell from the first initial contact they were already not going to allow me to get them. They may sell you the insulin BUT HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO ADMINISTER IT?! Lol it’s to their discretion and they constantly pick and chose, even though I’ve had scripts filled there in the past and confirmed I typically take Novalog and many other questions answered with knowledgeable information. It’s NOT okay. State laws don’t apply to policy I guess? (You will likely not run into this problem at Vienna but will with most pharmacies now for whatever reason) huge issue that needs to be addressed
