Hidden gem of a used bookstore! I can spend hours in this place! They have a HUGE collection of books, as well as a great selection of CDs/DVDs and vinyls. The staff are great and very helpful. Definitely worth a visit if you are an avid reader!

This is an AMAZING used book store and I wish I bought more books when I went there! They have a huge collection of poetry books with hard-to-find gems. The employees are incredibly warm and welcoming. Book Alley makes me glad to live in the area.

Laid-back, wonderful book shop. Dont expect Goodwill prices because their wide, curated selection is worth more than that. I visit once in a while and always find an out-of-print gem.

Bought some Manga On My Trip! There was a very small selection of manga since it is a second hand bookstore. The book was in great condition for a great price! It was very messy, but the staff were so nice. Huge Phycology Section!!

First time visiting this store. It was great. Found a book I didnt know I needed. Prices seemed reasonable, mainly on the subject I was interested in.

This place was amazing! It was much larger than most of the used book stores that Ive been to recently and there was a lot to choose from and look through. Like any good used book shop there was a slight old book smell and a little bit of chaos, with some clutter and books on the floor. It was an organized chaos though and the shelves were labeled clearly and it was easy to find a specific section. This place was filled with charm and I cant wait to go back when I have more time to browse the shelves.

The staff were so sweet and made me feel at home. I love the cozy feel and selection of the store— I was so inspired to start reading again. I found some great poetry books. I’m really hoping to go again soon.

Lots of interesting books..

I love old books and have sold and donated my books to wonderful places, such as the former Brand Books in Glendale., and have purchased from Book Alley. Like others forced out of Pasadena by skyrocketing rents I needed to lessen my load when I moved and so brought boxes of heavy coffee table books and others I bought new years ago. The young manager could tell I needed to get rid of them and was quick to take advantage, grabbing stuff I knew was valuable -- offering me only $40 !!! -- and then actually had the audacity to suggest that I donate the rest to him, much as he donates bad will. These are arrogant, lowly predatory people -- the type who revel in the gentrification of the City. We lost good decent people running businesses such as Cliffs books and Bungalow News, only to be left with scum.

I purchased a book through Abebooks on 9-2-18 entitled:Horseshoe Canyon: A Brief History of the June Lake Loop.The book was delivered On September 6, 2018. I was very impressed with the way the Book was packaged for Mailing. It was so thorough, and protective that you would have thought it was going to the the Library of Congress in Washington DC. I was also pleased to find the book, exactly as described and in better condition than I would have expected a used paper back book to be published in 1977 some 41 years ago. If you are looking for a book especially one out of print, and need it mailed, you wont find a better dealer than this Company.

This bookstore is beautiful and unusual and totally worth visiting. We found pretty good books and Spanish classics at their foreign language space. I even found a book I read when I was in middle school in Spain! I really enjoyed this place.

I love antique prints and this place had plenty to look at. The prices are very affordable too, probably on average $20 for a print, plenty cheaper. The owner is a very interesting guy with lots of stories to tell, and he knows everything about all the prints too. I definitely recommend stopping by, make sure to check out the pet lizzard too!

I love book alley! Not only is there an awesome collection of books and records but a great framing shop with beautiful etchings well! I always have a good time there.

Great place for deals on vintage books.

Well I must say when it comes to selection they definitely have it all but I went there to sell movies and books and they ripped me off! I should have gone somewhere else I didnt even get $0.25 per brand new DVD or brand new hardcover book! Yet these were worth much more the owner just wanted to throw as little money as he could and get as much stuff as he could possibly get. This store eBays a lot of stuff so if you go to sell your stuff there youre going to get the lowest price and hes going to resell it for 10 times what he gives you at least. I must have had over 200 DVDs and books and I think he gave me $40! Next time I will eBay it or put it on Let Go. If you want Records books DVDs he does have it all but I dont approve of the methods that are used to acquire all that.

Great gem in heart of Pasadena. Books new and mostly older. Nice friendly staff. Call 1st and see if they have what youre looking for. Bookstores carrying older titles are becoming rare...

Quite disorganized which makes it all the more exciting when your searching for something. Everything is categorized so at least you know which genre you’re looking at. Be ready to park on the street though.

Terrible place to sell books. I sold this guy 5 books, all in great condition. The most inexpensive one cost me $15.99. He gave me $1.00 for each one. He put new stickers on them and is now selling them at full price. There is a bookstore within walking distance from this place that will give fair prices for books. Dont sell to this guy.

Great collection of books. From California history to Star Trek behind the scenes, they have it all, even nice selection of LPs right when you walk in.

My only choice for used books in Pasadena. Unmatched customer service and fair prices. Unlike Archives book store, you can get a good deal on a used book and get treated with respect. (As a PhD student from Fuller, I will no longer shop from Archives/ Coffee by the [Crooks], as I see them.)

Great used book selection, small amount of vinyl and now assorted images like insects, plants and architectural details taken from older manuscripts sold for framing. Its an amazing bookstore, and easy to get lost in for over an hour, even when stopping in for a quick purchase!

When you say that a book is available for sale and it is purchased, there is an expectation that a book will be delivered. However, the book was listed even though it was NOT available, which is unacceptable. The customer should not have to suffer because a seller cannot update their inventory.
