Sovereign Laboratories did a tradeshow at The Langham Hotel. I contacted Bruce, at Jacob Maarse, selected the designers choice package, sent him photos of the product, and he made a beyond-amazing floral arrangement that matched the products. I couldnt be happier. Multiple buyers and sellers complimented us on the arrangement, and people took notice. Their customer care was great! I highly recommend.

My good friend is going thru a tough time of loss. I knew I wanted to send some flowers, but wanted them to be special and of the highest quality. A close friend recently lost her mother. I went online and found A Walk in the Clouds floral arrangement. Ordering was easy and the flowers were delivered that day. My friend sent a picture of the arrangement and they were beautiful! Although I moved from the Pasadena area over 30 years ago, I still use Jacob Maarse Florists when needing to order floral arrangements for family and friends in that area.

Owner is Dishonest and unprofessional to the core. Thanks to the show we could know and avoid such businesses. Hope it was worth it to cheat.

He created the most exquisite parties for me from a Tiffany Theme, to Alice in Wonderland to even Candyland! You give David an idea and he makes miracles happen. They talk about the owner interacting and truly caring about his customers. When a business is failing almost every time its due to the owner, no matter how much the employees care it wont succeed with poor leadership. The owner usually tries to hide the fact that he shouldnt be involved in management decisions and since customers main avenue to voice their dissatisfaction is through reviews the owner has people make profiles and then leave a 5 star review to boost the rating, the way you can tell is that the reviewer will usually have less than 5 reviews, just saying to look next to their name to check.

I placed an order online for same-day delivery in the Pasadena area. I went with a generic designers choice arrangement.When I saw a photo of what was delivered just 6 hours later I was blown away. It was massive, gorgeous, and the recipient just loved it!I now understand the hype behind Jacob Maarse. Well done.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about David and his team at Jacob Maarse! We had a difficult time choosing a florist for our wedding, as it was hard to know from looking at pictures who would be able to bring our vision to life. We ended up choosing to work with David because of the support he and his team would be able to provide our other creative vendors and the glowing recommendation from our wedding planner. Boy, did they deliver! David and his team worked seamlessly with our wedding planner/designer and balloon vendor. Everything looked gorgeous, and we received tons of compliments. One of the things we especially loved about working with David is how well he listened to feedback during our mock up. Even though we weren’t able to articulate very well what we wanted to change, he went and pulled flowers from the back and worked on the arrangement while we were there. The next version we saw was for our engagement photo shoot, and we were blown away. We can’t recommend David and his team at Jacob Maarse enough!

I really don’t know what most of these reviewers are on about. I’ve ordered arrangements for my girlfriend from Jacob Maarse 3 times now over the course of about a year and, every single time, she was awed by the quality and creativity of the arrangements. She’s been the envy of all her coworkers each time. They have also always executed on my delivery instructions perfectly each time.Maybe people feel like Jacob Maarse is overpriced. To those people, I would say, while this isn’t a place I would go to order run-of-the mill arrangements because it will cost more than I could do for comparable arrangements elsewhere, it IS a place to go for arrangements you just can’t find anywhere else. Ever heard of a red rose and succulent arrangement? It was the most beautiful and unique arrangement I’ve ever seen and my girlfriend gushed about it for weeks afterward. She also saved the succulents and they are still alive in their own little pots to this day.If you’re looking to get off cheaply, you won’t succeed here. If you want to make an impression, Jacob Maarse is the place to go.

I called Jacob Maarse to order sympathy flowers for a dear friend who had just lost her father. I was going to be out of town for the services and explained to the person I ordered the flowers from that I would like them delivered to my friends home. My friend was so moved by the Stunning Floral Arrangement they received and included a picture, which was just beautiful! David is a genius!! I entrusted him to see my vision for a bridal shower being held at Madeline Garden. I merely spoke one sentence which included size of vessel, color scheme, and lay out. He nailed it! Im quite sure he is able to read minds because he delivered EXACTLY what I envisioned!!!

Being familiar with Jacob Maarse I had very high expectations after I hired them for my wedding - those expectations weren’t only met but honestly so far surpassed! David was my main point of contact throughout the entire process. He is a true professional and incredibly pleasant and fun to work with - he was so mindful of what I wanted and also very helpful when I wasn’t sure exactly what it was that I wanted - his overall expertise and demeanor made me feel so comfortable just letting him take the reigns and I’m so glad he did because he totally delivered! They do amazing work. Ive been ordering flowers from J. Maarse for decades, theyre always perfect. Its indicative that I just ordered Mothers Day flowers to be delivered, but I keyed in the wrong date. The florist noticed the mistake, called me to make sure Id meant the flowers for Mothers Day, and made the correction. Who does that? Thank you, Jacob Maarse.

The bouquets from this florist are gorgeous- fresh flowers that still grow for the next couple of days, the freshness, symmetry and composition are beyond beautiful. I travel 45 mi to this florist- that is how much I love the bouquets.

I give Hank 5 stars for having the courage and loyalty for trying to continue his fathers legacy without the skills and education nessessary to run such s large organization. His father was so busy growing a successful business he didn’t take the time to train his son how he did it. Sometimes parents think they’re taking care of there kids by letting them have no responsibilities but it can sometimes have negative consequences. It amazes me how people are so quick to kick a guy when he’s down. Hank, invest some money on business management with an open mind and things will get better. Good luck.

It seems Jacob Maarse has been hit with trolls. Its obvious by looking at the negative reviews, none are actual accounts and all say the same things (which, btw make no sense anyway). So sorry for Jacob Maarse, they do amazing arrangements. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I am just about to send flowers now and will continue to use them for friends and family in the Pasadena area. Just wish I could find a comparable florist where Im living now!

I ordered online and the photo my friend sent of the arrangement is even prettier and more elegant than the photo on their site.I ordered from them last year and thought the quality of their design and flowers are worth so much more than they charge. Not an honorable owner or honest business

Best florist I know. Located on green in Pasadena. Really has a nice selection of greenery but they dont have many deals. Parking is usually available on the street outside, although you may have to pay. I dont like the high curbs.on a one way street, hard to sometimes get my car door open.

The worst service. Staff has attitude issues and the man said his name was jacob is touchy feely shoulder I told him get your hands off me I walked out. Go elsewhere where your treated right and not man handle.

I have been going to Jacob Maarse for over 25 years. For me pulling into the garage and being greeted by the friendly floral arrangers and deliver people is always nice. It has always been a beautiful location and experience for me. Growing up in Pasadena you always felt special when you received flowers from Jacob Maarse. Yes it’s a bit on the expensive side of the scale but the floral arrangements are worth it. I have been taking my son to purchase flowers for his school dance dates for as long as I can remember. He would pick out a single flower and have it wrapped, such a special memory. From time to time I purchase the little bud vase flowers for coworkers and friends. Being the recipient of these is always a hit! I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad experience with this historic floral designer and it’s always a pleasure to shop and receive from Jacob Maarse!

Jacob Maarse is my go to place for special floral arrangements and one of a kind home decor. I have only had the best experience shopping at this establishment from Hank himself to the employees. Thumbs up to them for keeping their good attitudes amongst all the bad reviews, mostly based on one episode. Bad reviewers who have never shopped there or walked thru the store really have no business rating this business. Hank is a nice person as are the employees I have transacted with.

We selected Jacob Maarse florists to do the centerpieces for our 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration. We worked with David Navarro, who could not have been more helpful or creative. He worked with me to select the best flowers in my color scheme and produced a sample that was breathtaking. All our guests commented on the gorgeous flowers. We couldnt have been more pleased.

He literally creates magic! He is an attentive listener who can actually create what you have in your mind. Only better!We are very particular and wanted a unique tablescape while at the same time wanted it to be very elegant, classic and timeless. He listened to everything my daughter wanted, from garden roses, to elongated tablescapes, to an elegant twist on outdoor floral for the ceremony and EVERYTHING turned out better than we could have imagined or hoped for! Customer service needs immediate attention. I walked in and was never acknowledged by the 8 employees walking around. Two other customers walked in after me, they were not acknowled either. One of the customer asked for service and was asked to wait???? Clearly employees are not happy. The florals used to be stunnning, not so special these days. I am sad, the once elegant, exceptional arrangements are no more.

I like this place. They always take care of me when I need last minute stuff. Even on Valentines Day at 5:45 pm - they took the time to look with me through the orchids and selected a nice one, but relatively cheap one (dont tell my wife ...). The staff is really friendly, no matter if I go there to shop or just to browse.

My wife and I dont usually give each other gifts, but I spontaneously decided to bring her some flowers on my way home from work on Valentines Day. I walked by a half hour after they closed, and the guy who was locking up was nice enough to let me in. The arrangement I selected looked a little withered, but what can I expect for randomly walking in at the end of the day? The guy also gave me a significant discount and packaged it for me, which I didnt even have to ask for. I dont watch TV or know anything about the owner, but I will say that the employees are fantastic! 5 stars.

The owner of this place is the worst

Coasting on reputation from many years ago with premium prices but no longer the selection or service to match. They can still custom arrange unique orders but that is now hit or miss. Worse is now-sparse selection for browsing in-store. Last visit had almost empty interior green house that used to be maintained with a large selection and just a few hand bouquets, one with no water. Some staff dont seem to care. Despite being yet another FTD network florist, the competition from more agile Internet florists will probably force Jacob Maarse out of this big location at some point. Worth a visit to see what a big premium florist once occupied but for regular purchases there are better, less expensive options now.
