I have rented equipment from Home Depot many times(maybe around 20 times), and I have generally had a fair/positive experience. Iβm not a contractor, but I do feel I have a lot of experience renting equipment from Home Depot. Iβve never felt the need to write a review before, but this time pushed me to the edge.This morning I picked up lawn equipment from the Passaic Home Depot. It was smooth processβ¦ I had a few laughs with the representative, all good.Upon my return, however, I was not greeted with open arms. When I stepped foot into the into the rental area, I knew I was not welcome. The person working the rental area at 8PM on September 24, 2021 made me feel incompetent and unwelcome. When I asked for instructions on where I could park my vehicle and unload the equipment (since the bay doors and the rental door was chained shut), I was met with a condescending attitude and no help whatsoever; to the point where a semi-truck driver helped me unload the equipmentβ¦ The representative also demanded I start the machines myself, as if I was being evaluated, but I quickly realized it was because they did not understand how to operate the machine.The experience just felt like I was in debt to them for having rented the equipment, and I had no business renting equipment from them.What bothers me about the whole thing is that I go out of my way to smile, ask workers how theyβre doing, and give every opportunity to help make their job a little easier. But when Iβm matched with disgust, it really rubs me the wrong way.

Worst costumer service!!!!! They donβt greed when you walk-in. The manager couldnβt even do my return. She made a big deal because I didnβt have the receipt but I had a picture of it and I told her and she said no with an attitude. Went to Ringwood Home Depot and they did my return with no issues.
Dont bother going to this place if you ever want any customer services. I waited 35 minutes For representative to come help me buy a fridge.. Every associate that walk past said they didnt work in that department. After A-line was forming I ended up leaving. Drove to Lowes, Within 15 minutes everyone in the line waiting with me at home depot went to lowes. Where I was able to buy my fridge and get help from someone in the department.
I met a few people three different departments that were extremely kind, helpful, courteous and genuine and then there was a few others π oh well s/h

I went to the Passaic NJ store for tile, The woman in the tile department was very helpful. They had every thing I needed. when I came back to pick up my order on Monday everything was ready and on a cart to be loaded in my car.I couldnt be more pleased. thank you, Beulah.
I placed an order online for store pick up and called to check the status. The rep I spoke with was nice enough and said it should be ready within the 2 hr time frame. A few minutes later I get a call from Tamiesha(sorry if I spelled your name wrong!) and she said they had expedited the order and itβs ready for pick up. My basement had flooded so I needed a wet vac asap. Their kindness was done before I shared this fact so I am extremely grateful for their consideration to me. Upon arrival the order was in my car within minutes. Thank you thank you Home Depot in Passaic!!
Terrible customer service.So first thing is that I call and request information on a piece they tell me is in stock. They asked me to go at 7 when I show up there is no inventory on the piece. I continue to show and then there is no management around or people in the pro section other than a lady that took 2 hours to make an order with 15 items.People were leaving the lane to purchase in the equipment.I am not sure if this store is under staffed or just not staffed properly.Hope this helps make this store better.
Understaffed, empty shelves and dirty looking on the inside and outside. This location needs to go out of business or an entire change of management.
Iβm an electrician I come here a lot and each time I come here I ask myself why did I come to this location, But todayβs experience made me want to share this, so I got here around 2:40 PM I was at the electrical aisle 41 and I needed help so I asked a guy he called nobody showed up after 20 min I found two guys they were together if they know anything about electrical even tho they werenβt at the electrical aisle so one of them looked and me and he answered with the dirtiest look and attitude Iβll call someone Iβm like okay thank you so he looked and me and walked away! So I waited nobody came after another 20 min asked again nobody showed up each time I see an employee there on there phone so I started to yell β can anyone come help me, Hello, Anyone is workingβ nothing so I ended up going to the guy by the fridges asked him he man Iβve been here for over an hour can u help me at the electrical aisle 41 so he went to call and heβs like he was at lunch the electrical guy. Go wait for him! With an attitude!! Luckily the electrical guy was nice and he kept apologizing to me about everything and everyone!!! If ur working or need something quick to get and need help to get it. This is the wrong location! Hope H.D will fix this!!!

A punishment speaking people hide to much in the bathroom using there phones. Needing help was a Joke. I go to stores down the shore and no matter what there doing . They would stop and help you find what your looking for I went to The Passiac store NEVER AGAIN. NOTHING LIKE GRTTING PAID TO HIDE IN THE BATHROOM

I went to rent a truck to pick up some cabinets. I wish the associates were more helpful. They do not give you enough information as of how much extra they would charge if you are late and the favor that they count the time of your return after they disinfect the truck. I get that we are living very hard times and being at work is annoying with the mask but customers shouldnβt have to pay the price of annoyed associates.
Ordered a product online for a store pickup. Was informed the product had to be shipped to the store and wait time 4 days. I went to the store an hour later and the product was in stock. I asked customer service why I was told the item would take 4 days when you have in stock? The worker, she smiled and said she had no idea.

Ive not been helped by a single person at this store. Today I asked someone for something, which happened to be right next to them, they just took me to another person who was busy with three people and went back to standing next to the cement mixer that I needed. The customer service desk is staffed by people who discourage returns by their ineptness. Honestly if you come here its definitely self-service because the staff run from you when you try to ask them anything, or worse they keep you there, while not helping you, forever. Its like purgatory. And they burnt me on my $50 off of a $300 purchase with your home depot card.

I had a question about the location for an item for the man in customer service (about 5β9 180lbs) on Sunday, June 20th (aisle and bin # were not online). He ignored me, then rudely said hold on, and turned his back to me. Poor customer service. He should be reprimanded and no one should shop here ever again. I am very disappointed.

DO NOT work at this location. All department managers are your boss. Chris from Gardening really abused that privilege the day he watched from his car as I collected an endless flow of carts. Instead of complimenting me, he complained about the few I didnβt get to yet, locked me in the back yard and made me stack heavy storage racks by hand, from one pile to another for no reason. I had to climb the fence to use the bathroom. His comment to me then was: βHow did you get outβ. Is this a work place or a prison?

Placed order month ago and was promised to get order in two and half week, passed 4 weeks and got 2 phone calls from Home Depot to come and pick up order, as the order was large I have to move machine from one site to another site in order to unload deck then I went to home depot waiting 45 min in line at customer service to be told that they didnt get my order yet, then I ended up moving machine back to first site. My customer was not happy with that cause they was expecting material to be on site once they saw me dropped machine and I lost 5 Hours of mine time cause they are not capable to check in yard if they have materials before they start calling me.Totally disappointed.
I went to buy a door bell camera at home depot the staff could not find the key to open where the Camara lock up beside the cashier. I was there waiting and waiting for a long time then I decided to leave. my daughter ordered it online from home depot we have to pay delivery fees. That make no sense I was in the store. why none of the staff could find the key.
Instance 1: Tried to order a tool for pickup. Website said multiple items in stock at this location. No update till days later when they called to tell me its now out of stock. No offer to rectify the inconvenience or locate the item at another location, so just cancel my order and you lost my money. Still, gave them 1 more chance. Instance 2: Ordered 2 items for store pickup. 3 hours later still no update, so I just cancel the order and come to the store myself. Whole store is a complete mess, the item I need is wedged under other heavy items and everything is in the wrong place on the shelf. Have to walk across the store for assistance, lots of employees there but none seem busy considering how awful the store looks (nor too busy to fulfill my 2 item order within 3 hours?) when I finally find someone they are standing around talking to other employee. So I take employee to item I cannot get, instead of helping me they ask another employee to help, and they say hold on and walk away. Wait 5-10 minutes, still no sight of them. So I give up again and head for the door. Pass by same employee helping someone else on the way out. Not sure how long they would have left me just standing there or if they were ever coming back but im guessing not. Couldve had my money Home Depot, but you just made it impossible for me to purchase what I needed even though I tried multiple times and wasted my time. Never shopping here again.

This home depot used to be my favorite, always had everything I need. But lately its horrible, I think they changed management or employees or idk what happened, but I go there and they dont have what I need, they have the box of what I need but filled with everything but what I need. Of course I am talking about the Electrical side, I dont know about the others. And when I ask employees there, they say oh we expected we have some, sorry we have to order it. Its very frustrating...

I want to take a moment to highlight Timothy, a worker here. My bf and I came for several winter products as well as a tree and Xmas decorations. They were low on stock with a snow shovel and I ran into Timothy and he said he was going to bring more out right away. He did and he was so helpful and professional. He helped us out with several other products. Next, we got our Xmas tree and when we were checking out, we asked if someone could help us tie it to our car. The attendant there asks another worker βwhereβs that tall guy thatβs helping everyone?β Sure enough Timothy shows up. I knew it.As he helped us with our tree I thanked him and commended him on what a great experience he has made this for us and what a great job he is doing. He simply replied, βBecause I love my job.β If every worker had Timothyβs work ethic and mindset, this location would do so much better! He NEEDS to be recognized.I only gave 4 stars because while Timothy is busting his butt, other female workers were standing in the aisle by the Christmas decorations in the way of customers trying to get through. Didnβt even think to move aside and complaining about getting off work. Two very different mindsets and experiences.

Passaic is changing for good... and the gentrification is at full swing... this HomeDepot location is very convenient and in the middle of a new and upcoming passaic. Located just off of 21 this HD is Close to Clifton and Garfield. The store is same as any other HD and the parking areas are nicely lit.
