Bad day at Honda today. Yesterday I scheduled a service for a Friday 1015 appointment and when I got there my car was taken away and I got an a long line. It was only about five minutes until I overheard remarks from three other customers in front of me on the line. And then came to my attention that the front of the line has been waiting for about 40 minutes and staff members had been asked about the situation but was not given a direct answer. It appeared the desk lady had stepped away and never came back. In addition all the other Honda staff members just kept walking by without replacing someone at the desk. Another 15 minutes past until I took it upon myself to just stop wasting time after not getting any answers & retrieve my car. My car was not in the service building but was parked in the lot. I then found on Google an oil change within 5 miles of here that ONLY took 10 minutes. I will only return to Honda if it’s necessary but otherwise I will no longer get my oil change is here. I usually get great service here with the snacks not sure what happen today, unfortunately.
I love coming to this place because the staff is super friendly and they really help you out. My go-to person is Andrew who is awesome. Andrew is a Caring person who listens to your concerns and helps you out and make sure youre satisfied before you leave the dealership. Highly recommend if youre looking for a car and make sure you ask for Andrew.

Went in today for a new key fob replacement and general check for my Honda Civic. The person who helped me was “Hanna”, she was very proactive and made sure that everything went smoothly from start to finish. I had a great experience and look forward to returning in the future.
I waited 1 hr before reaching the receiving desk. However, while waiting I saw several of them just checking emails, and texting.Anyway, once someone finally helped me, she justified herself saying we are busy today, and I was like, then why do you overbook cars. Then, she told me it would be a 2hrs wait (possibly more). Hence, I was polite and just asked for my car.By the way, no one acknowledges the customers when they arrive.In addition:- Place looks funny, a bit old and there is not seating to wait for 1hr (no bench or anything)- I asked for my car, in other places they bring it to you, here they gave me my key and told me to go for it :(- The employee receiving cars, was really distracted, he kept asking me about random cars- You better have your Spanish skill ready, not a big deal just sayingHope this helps someone, at least to be ready for it!
The service department needs more customer service personnel. Most people dont have the time to wait around to get taken care off when you arrive for your appointment. At least acknowledge the customer when they arrive.
I was pleased with the service department. Despite being busy checking in cars, the service staff were friendly and professional. They took good care of my car, checked it over and performed the required service.
This review is solely based on my experience with James at the service department. I have been taking my car to Garden State Honda in Passaic for over 2 years now. When I normally go, the service is a 3 at best. However, this last time was the first time that I felt comfortable. James helped me right away, explained everything well, and was professional during the whole experience. He even called a couple days later to check in and make sure everything was still okay. Next time I go, I will definitely request James!
Dropped off the car overnight for a recall, fairly easy process. Was able to pick up car the next day no problem.
This is the worst service center Ive ever been to. It took them 4 days to even look at my car. During that time they lied to me multiple times, hung up on me, and refused to answer thier phones, all while holding my car hostage. The only way I was able to get any sort of response from them was to physically walk down to the shop and speak to them, only to have them lie directly to my face. When they finally looked at the car, 4 days after it was initially dropped off, the fix was simple and took less than an hour. They also should have known that the part was the problem because there was a recent recall from Honda. Really, find a different dealership to take your car to, these people are both liars and seriously incompetent.
The service staff at Garden State Honda are extremely rude and unprofessional. Did not give me an expected timeframe on when my recall would be performed. Any time I called to check in they’d say we haven’t gotten to it. After a full day of my vehicle just sitting there, I went to go pick my car up (they DID NOT even look at it and I couldn’t sit around without my car because I had to go to work). When I go there, they didn’t even pull the car around for me. They sent me searching around the lot and told me to press the panic button and I’d find it somewhere. Save yourself the hassle and go to Tenafly Honda. I took an appointment there for Friday and they already accommodated me for my recall. I can’t believe they call this a service center. It’s a junkyard.

Certain car services (oil change, tire rotations, multipoint inspection etc) wait used to be probably 30 to 45 minutes. Today I’m here with a concern about my battery and a possible battery replacement. Well, expect to wait two hours+ like I have (appointment at 11am and it’s now almost 1:30pm of sitting in their waiting room). A service advisor you end up with may state to you that they are “short staffed”, wait will be long because they have a lot of customers at the moment or honestly they might probably forget to get your car checked and they will have your car sitting there overnight (it’s happened to me before when I came in for an oil change). Some service advisors are attentive others not so much. If you plan on getting any type of service done here and have an appointment you have to prepare yourself for a long wait. Either have someone pick you up and wait for your service advisor to call you about the issue that your car has or to let you know about your options and how much it’s going to cost. Piece of advice don’t plan any other errand around the time your car is being serviced because I guarantee you, it will take a really long time. It would be nice to know updates if it passes a certain wait time. It doesn’t take much time to follow up with your customers while they wait patiently for a simple service to be diagnosed and completed.
The sales associates were pleasant and welcoming. Carl was our salesman and he did a phenomenal job at making the car buying process seamless. He listened and abided by our wishes without being pushy or trying to steer us in another direction.The finance manager was a bit stale, and wasnt friendly AT ALL! She was condescending and very matter of fact. Since we didnt have to interact with her too much ....we made the best of it.Overall, the experience was positive.
Brian and the guys were phenomenal. I had a last minute work emergency and had to have my Fiancee take the car last minute, and he had no idea what plan I had or what to tell them. they located the exact plan I had and Brian was super friendly and helpful, even making sure to confirm with another employee that it was no cost to us and they both took the time to dig in to the specific plan I have to make sure. It was a painless and even a pleasurable quick experience according to my Fiancee. My guy quickly mentioned that we do have a business trip to Chicago and want to make sure the car is good to drive, as an aside. Brian actually impressed my Fiancee, by remembering that quickly mentioned detail and saying to have a great trip and be safe, hours and probably multiple customers after my Fiancee mentioned the trip. its those details that prompted my Fiancee to tell me you know, Ive never done that deal where you bring in your car to the dealership, I have to tell you, it was actually really quite pleasure and no problem at all, it was actually great. From the girl that parked the car, to the guys that helped us out, to Brian who handled our process, we are both so pleased. We will be purchasing my Fiancees new car, at your location as a result. thank you to Brian and the whole crew!
Very disappointing! I got my Honda Civic 2017 4 years ago brand new.. Late last year the AC was not working I went to there Service Center to have it fixed I was told to pay $1500 to $1600How is it possible for a 3 year old car has a major problem. I would give a zero star if I could. I would not recommend anyone to go to this place.

I have never had any vehicle serviced here but have been to the parts dept. They carry a wide range of parts that most of the dealerships dont carry. Their counter staff is pretty good & knowledgeable.
Bought my car at Garden State Honda in 2010. Other than tires I have had all the service done at Garden State Honda Service. I brought my car in for a check up on December 29, as the place where I did tire service (not Honda) told me that my suspension was shot, and it would be sitting on my tires in a matter of days. They quoted me over 1500.00.Since Honda has my entire service history on file, and I had only done an oil change about a month ago, I wanted to see what they saw.I checked in at Honda - and spoke to Ozzy. I didnt tell him what the other place said, I just said that I wanted a complete once over of the car - he understood - quoted me the diagnostic fee, and took it in. I got a text immediately from GSH, with a clear way to get in touch with Ozzy.The next day - Ozzy reached out and let me know that the technician took the car out and drove it. Nothing wrong with it at all. They did the inspection and it was in tip top shape. I was quite happy with the diagnosis, and very happy with the service and the professionalism from the staff there. I will continue to bring my car to them, and when it is time, I would purchase my next vehicle from them as well. Thank you for making me feel comfortable with working with you.
Pretty convenient with their online booking but sometimes wait times are long, even when I got there before they opened.

L changed my oil there. they checked my battery and saidwas full. But the next day my car was stoped in the road because of dead batter! If Honda can not tell me this, who should?

My experience at garden state Honda service has always been amazing. The staff is professional and make sure to keep you updated for all things. I have always taken my car there and will continue to take my new vehicle there too.
Went in for a recall service. They were backed up with other cars (which is to be expected). Brigitte was very nice and tried to make the visit as pleasant as possible.
Paul is AMAZING! I wish every single car service center/dealership has someone as great as him. He is as authentic as they come and a true help and kind person. I originally went here and HATED it but after dealing with him directly my mind has been totally changed. If ever you need help or have questions he is the go to guy.
It is disappointing that you have to wait four days at Garden State Honda to get TIRE PRESSURES LOW light checked.Paul Miller Honda took me as an emergency. And I did have a nail in the tire so thank goodness they helped me out!Honestly I would love to go to GSH because it is close to my house but from now on, I will just go up to Paul Miller for service and for buying cars.
I’ve been a Garden State Honda client since 2013. Always have had my cars serviced at their Passaic service center.Today, I had the most horrific experience with their team members! No one introduces themselves, once on line to check in you are completely ignored! No eye contact, no normal customer service in acknowledging someone and saying someone will be right with you.Once it was finally my turn, the obnoxious blond woman who inquired what service I was there for - literally did not think my issue was important and that I would be waiting at minimum 90 minutes! I opted to leave at that point!I’ve been unable to contact the service manager Paul Zellman to make him aware of the incompetency of the team he has there!I won’t be returning for service or to lease my next car!Update: Mr. Zellman did contact me and asked me to return on Saturday which I did without incident. He is quite aware of the customer service concerns. I appreciate the intervention of Mr. Zellman and hope it stays positive.
I dropped my car off on Monday, at 9 am. I dealt with a guy named Nelson. By the end of the day, I called him, and they hadnt looked at it. They kept it overnight. Tuesday morning, they diagnosed the issue. I called later that afternoon, they replaced the part, but found another issue. So they said they had to order it. Ok, again, I left it. So, I called late this afternoon, and was told it would be done by 5 pm. today, April 28th. When I got there, it had not even been looked at, nor was the part even there. Nelson lied to my face, and told me it would be ready. When I got there, he immediately went into his managers office, because he knew what he did. ZERO communication from him. And to LIE, and say I could pick it up at 5. DONT DEAL.WITH NELSON.. HE IS A LIAR!!!!!
I like getting my car serviced here. They never pressure me to get unnecessary things. Instead they warn me about what I may need during my next oil change.
I had a scheduled Saturday appointment & I had to wait for 2 hours...they should not overlook that unacceptable customer service 😒
I had an appointment here today that I booked 2 weeks in advance so. I can get a loaner they person that booked my appointment confirmed to me that I will get a loaner I took time off work to go drop off my car I was greeted by a person with an attitude which not something I wasnt expecting in Honda service center but the very unprofessional part is that this person said that they have no loaners and get this its a first come first serve basis with loaners weather you have an appointment and a confirmation in an email or not i showed her the email confirmation from their business showing a loaner included she didnt care asked for a manager also didnt care his response was I have no loaners thats itI took my car back obviouslyDont use this dealer for buying or servicing trust me you will regret it the same way i do now

Went for a Recall and had a Bad Experience. They took my car and returned back, when I went to my car I found my Driver side seat to be dirty, it had some kind of very visible dirt. I went back in to the person who assisted me, asked him to come and take a look. He then said he is going to take it in to have it cleaned, asked me to wait inside. I went in and waited, he came back and told me in his raised voice when everyone was sitting in waiting room that dirt was there when I brought my car and they did not do it. I tried to escalate this to Manager of this center via text and phone, but hey seems they are all into this, no response from any of them. So adding my experience here to help others to take care of interiors as well when you leave your car in this service center. They are totally unprofessional.
I made an appointment with them for the recall. They sent me a confirmation the evening before but when I went there the next day they did not have the part. I took the day off from work to do this and it never happened. I’m very disappointed
I am driving my 3rd Honda accord and I always go back for oil changes. Today I went without an appointment and was rudely told that I couldnt be helped until next week. That was fine, but then she said ( service department manager) you can grab you car and go. 😔. Took it to Jiffy Lubes and in 25 minutes it was done👍. That is my to go from now on.
Prompt check-in.. notified me of what was needed & cost... kept me informed of approximate time to be finished.

Walter was very helpful. I showed up without an appointment and they didnt have the part I needed. He took care of me and made sure Id be able to get in and out once the part arrived.
I tend to go for parts as opposed to service. Parts department is knowledgeable and get you what you need. I understand that service is very good but likr any other dealership, make sure that they are only performong the service that you are asking for..

I went there in June, 2020 for a repair with appointment and wanted to wait in the waiting room because I didnt have a ride. Got there in the early morning and Walter took me who was having high attitude and very arrogant. Im a woman of color and I felt strongly being discriminated. He immediately told me due to Covid they were short staffed so I had to drop my car and come back. I told him understood but I didnt have a ride and had to pay $40 Ubering to work so I rather giving a shot waiting a few hours or at least until the diagnose done so I could make decision. No, he wouldnt let me in the building and insisted that it cant be done that quickly and I MUST not wait. There were other people sitting inside and I was not even allowed in? I finally agreed and luckily my coworker was able to pick me up from the dealer. Then on the way to my office that was less than 30 minutes I received a phone call from him telling me they finished the diagnose and found the issue. I TOLD YOU I WAS ALBE TO WAIT FOR A FEW HOURS!!! AND YOU FORCED ME OUT WHEN IT COULD BE DONE WIHTIN 30 MINUTES!!! I knew he did that on purpose making me spend unnecessary $40 if no one could pick me up. At that point I knew I shouldnt deal with this person anymore. He gave me a quote for over $1200 for starter and battery replacement which I refused and decided to get my car out that place ASAP. I ended up paying only $600 at a mechanic recommended by my friend, plus $130 that dealer charged me for the diagnostic because I didnt use their service, I still saved $470 dollars and I didnt have to deal with this guy. A couple of other things to mention - 1. When I drove to the dealer, my car was only having issues of longer cranking but still able to start no problem. But when I went to pick my car from there, my car completely died, not even crank. I felt they must have done something to make it dead so I have no choice but to fix there at overpriced cost. How shady is that! I ended up calling AAA to get my car because I Donnt want to spend one more penny there. 2. When I told the story to my friend she immediately called out his name without me even mentioning the name, because she had bad experience with this guy in the past as well!!! Avoid this place if you can, or at least avoid this guy at all costs.

Honda Pilot 2019 Elite, 3800Miles under warranty. Car was functioning as expected like pre-heated with remote start. After factory recall and first service preheating(car seats heatings system) stopped working. When I visited service center they told me everything is ok they don’t see any problem. Drive your car for couple of miles then it will work. If car is parked in garage and it’s cold weather then car should detect outside temperature and accordingly pre-heat and pre-cold the car which is expected behavior in Honda Pilot. It was working as expected when I purchased new car until first service and recall(back camera s/w update)made on my car.

I came to get an express oil change that took 2 hours and 15 minutes. Then when I get my car, just before I drive off my gut tells me to check the body of the car. They gave me my car back with the hood open. I would have been on the highway with my hood open and it potentially flying open.Update: I drove the car home and it smelled like burning fuel for a good two weeks. Brought it back to Honda three weeks after flying back from Georgia to find that the fuel cap was never put back on. Fuel has leaked all over the engine.

Took my 2020 Honda Pilot in June for hearing static in the speakers also had odometer screen shut off while driving. The service manager told me that there is nothing g they can do because the car is pending a recall. He reset my computer faults and returned the car after it was in service for 4 days. No courtesy vehicle was offered. Two days later I had the same issue, took the car in a week later due to them being booked. Service manager again told me that they would fix the issue, nothing was accomplished. After leaving my car in service for a week nothing was fixed. Even with odometer screen shutting off, big safety issue they still returned the car to me telling me it was repaired. Third time I took the car in for the same issue, director of service talked to me telling g me that the she spoke to Honda and they told her to release the car to me and that they would send a mechanic early in the month (august) to repair my vehicle. Its August 15th.I called Honda and spoke to my case manager who told me that he would contact the Service Director and she would call me back. That was last Friday.No one called, case manager did not follow up. So unprofessional at a director level. If a corporate case manager fails, and Director of Service fails in their duties of proving a simple follow up with a customer who has been experiencing quite a lot of issues. How can you expect their employees to give a great service to customers if they cant lead by example. I think few directors should take customer appreciation course once again.
The staff was responsive to my questions and concerns about the repairs on my car. They did their best to accommodate me and were polite and professional.
It maybe a little late & long but its so worth it. Sahtiekqua and Ahmir EXCELLENT TEAM WORK!!! When I tell you from the start (phone call) to the finish (purchase) Just honesty, integrity and even a lil humor at times but always professional and courteous throughout the experience. Sahtiekqua responded quickly to correct and expedite my purchase effectively and efficiently. She even texted me up until i arrived to make sure i was okay and if there was anything else she could do. Listen I was told by the DM Mr. Wayne Hall that he was assigning his BEST!!! GM to take care of me and I MUST AGREE Sahtiekqua was the ABSOLUTE BEST and the added BONUS was Ahmir a true Gentleman of Distinction & Professionalism. First of all, Deana (service & parts director) at Garden State Honda is the best. she was absolutely terrific, extremely helpful, friendly, polite, and has a great customer service experience.One month ago, I started hearing chirping noise coming from my HONDA 2018 ACCORD engine. First, I took my car to the HONDA PARAMUS. They diagnosed it as the high-pressure fuel pump and they said, they put a new one in, who knows if they put a new one in because the sound was still there . Anyways, I went to Garden State Honda and they were able to fix the noise and I am hoping the sound wont come back.I am satisfied with the professional service and especially I would appreciate the professional help that Walter (Service Advisor) and Deana offered to me. I would be definitely going there for an oil change and other services as well.

Went in for service because my dashboard lights were flickering. Got the service done but the gentleman who worked on my car never kept me up to date with the work that was done. I had to call in multiple times to ask if my car is ready for pick up. That guy never answered my call. At the end of the day I just showed up to the service center and he said oh yea car is ready and ill email you the paperwork. Luckily everything was covered in warranty but I am still waiting for the detailed paperwork.

Place is horrible for service department. I had my appointment at 12:30 and 2 hours later I received my car at 2:50.If I knew when it would take this long I would have reschedule. It was old change and tire rotation. They told me 1 hour 30 min. So now I’m late to pick up my kids. The front guys that you check in to are rude and don’t even have any type of customer services. No one In waiting area behind desk wants to help or even acknowledge you when standing in the front to speak to some one. Multiple people would look at me and turn other way. Then to top it off he gave me wrong key. They do not put the customer first or even care for them. I do not recommend anyone to come here for service. I think the manager really needs to send everyone to take a friendly customer service class. I hope they send me survey for my visit today!

Been a loyal customer for years. Service department is slipping. Wait times exceed estimates given upon arrival. Appropriate parts or people to do repair are not available during promised times. Latest visit they did not have the part...got the run around for an hr. Part ordered and told to return the next day. Upon arrival, personnel that would install/program part was not in the shop. Was told the repair would take half hour the day prior. Waited an hr plus. Missed another appointment due to the inconvenience. They did the right thing and compensated my service. Although annoying, overall it was satisfactory.

Horrible service location that I saw in my life.I visit location with appointment, I wait a lot and they made multipoint service check, they said my brakes are good (8 out of 10) but after 5 days I saw my rear break are finished and start making a sound. I took my car to another service location and they change my break and cleaned my calipers.. I really dont know how to Honda company still allowing this kind of service location to work..

I took my car there because Honda had a recall, and this dealer was extremely professional and took care of all the problems plus they changed my windshield liquid.The amazing thing was that they drop me off at home and they pick me up when my car was ready.I recommend this dealer for service for any car, not only Honda.

Awful costumer service, I was sitting for one hour and 45 minutes and they couldn’t do anything I need to, which was an oil change and tire alignment, also I needed to purchase two new tires, and an estimate for some cosmetically damages on my car. No one took care of me, or asked me if I needed help, and then I was asked to leave since they were closing, and asked if I could go back the next day, to get my service for free, which I know is a movement for annoying costumers or cheap people, but my car was sitting in the parking lot and no one took care of it or me. I got my keys, and when I was about to leave two of my windows were open and it was raining which caused damage on my fabric seats, I’m currently working in a hospital and I don’t have much time to do this kind of stuff and I was treated like it wasn’t important. I’m not playing with cars, I’m saving life’s and I need my transportation safe and sound, thank you for wasting my time, and keeping me with a car that needs service for the next two weeks.

What a great experience we had with Aneudis! He was friendly, courteous and willing to answer a million questions. The best was his honesty and network of contacts to get us the most affordable quotes.
It is fair to say I have been cheated by the dealership. I went to the dealership to have my check engine light checked. The service agent told me that he will have to do the diagnostic to determine the cause. They charged me the fees of 141.53 and performed the diagnostic and provided the report that the Front Catalytic Converter (Bank 2) needs replacement. Based on the diagnosis I went about getting the problem fixed only to find out that the diagnostic was performed incorrectly. It is actually the Rear Catalytic Converter (Bank 1) that needs to be replaced. I called the dealership they initially refused to accept the mistake but eventually did, when I spoke to the Service Manager. I asked them to atleast refund me the diagnostic fees as they incorrectly diagnosed the problem and caused me a lot of trouble. To my surprise they completely refused to return me the diagnostic fees. Just goes to show they dont even have the basic sense of ethic and feel no responsibility for the trouble they caused to the customer.
I have been here multiple times without any issues for many services. Last time they did not allow me in when i was 45 mins late for the service. The worst part was i had called up and checked if it was ok to be coming in late by an hour and the person on the phone said we are not too busy and should not be an issue. I will never be visiting this place again if they cant value customers time and their word. They just lost a customer for life(They might not care though based on my last experience).

Absolutely the worst dealership in the tri state. Employees are always sitting around doing absolutely nothing, yet they claim the service center is booked for the week EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU CALL. Would not recommend doing business here.

I’ve gone to this Honda 3 times already for service and every time each time I’ve had an appointment for 9 am and here it is 12 pm and I’m still waiting for my car to get serviced. What is the point of having a appointment scheduled?!!

After repair of my Honda Fit, for random misfire, the check engine light would not go off.The service manager played around with his scanner and got the car to go through its procedure to erase the code. If he hadnt helped me the car would have never passed inspection.
Do yourself a favor and do not buy a car from Garden State Honda so you do not need to use this service center. Absolutely terrible!!! For an oil change, if you make an appointment which you have to, you will wait about 4 hours. They must hire idiots to do oil changes. It takes half hour 40 minutes to change oil. Cant get a hold of anyone either. Just terrible!!!!
Too much wondering around, extra people not helping and I just waited and waited. I hate it when too many middle man wasting time.
Worst customer service when it comes to service. Front desk guy is rude and they dont even say hi. I already lease three vehicles with them and it will be the last.
