The only reason I give any stars is for convenience to the interstate, good selection of parts in the store, and they offer law enforcement/military discounts. Everything else was one of the worst auto store experiences Ive had. This was the first time I have been to a Pep Boys and will unfortunately be my last. I came rolling up on a donut spare after blowing a tire on the NJ turnpike as they do offer a convenient location to the interstate. After explaining that my tires were only a few months old and that I was just wanting to replace the one that had picked up a screw, I was offered specials on 4 new tires. This was not the situation where that was necessary. After explaining again that I did not need but one tire, the car was put on the rack and service was relatively quick. Unfortunately, I could see that the vehicle was done as there is a window to the service center, we waited another ten minutes as every employee in the store was scrolling on their phones, service employees and main cashiers. He finally looked outside and told me it was ready. I paid in cash, but there was no coin change and instead of checking the other cash registers, I got the short end of the stick, not that big of a deal but just compounded the rest of the issues. I went to leave but the spare was just set on the back of the car....I went back in and informed the service desk of this and they looked at me like I was crazy and that they had put it back in its place. I walked out there with them and pointed it out and an employee was told to put it back. So I stood in the rain installing it myself and raising it back up because I was more than fed up at this point before the employee came out and helped me. I wouldnt wish this experience on anyone else, especially on the tail end of a 2,000 mile road trip when you need decent service the most.
Dont go to this place, waste of time!!!!They dont value time of customers. Dropped my car for oil change at 11am (had appointment). Was told that it will be ready for pick up in an hour, went back at 2pm and it was not ready. They told me that my car is next will take 20 more mins. I left and called them back at 3:35pm to ask if it was now ready. Guess what, it will still take 20mins. Drove there after 20mins and what i get to see is the car was still at the same spot where I left. Went inside to check with them if it was ready for pickup now. Same thing again, they told me its will still take some more time. I ended up taking my car back from them to get the service done at other place. I dont recommend giving business to them. I would have given them 0 for rating if it was allowed.
Usually excellent...this time a 6 hr oil change? Sorry, doesnt fly! You didnt have right filter? Dont accept the reservation when you know vehicle that is coming in advance...make reservation for next day...not rocket science

Worst place I ever been to. Paid a thousand dollars to get my car fixed and came back home with even more problems. AND we came back to them denying the original problem and making up excuses !
Honestly, their biggest failure is communication. I left the car on Tuesday after being told it would be 1-2 hours. Finally picked it up today on Friday after many calls and Ill call you backs all filled with attitude. The guy lightened up when a guy was in front of him, but ladies youre gonna have a hard time getting any proper communication with these guys. Yesterday, one of them spoke to my mother who went of my behalf saying it would be ready today free of charge. When she went today they were trying to ring her up for $400. Im writing this in case a week from today anything else happens to my car, but overall it was a negative experience and I would rather drive an hour away then come back here.

Went in for alignment and picked back up with no power steering. Drove it in with power steering but they told me it was like that when they went to pull it in garage. Shady business. Told me $2900 to fix it. Lost me as a customer

Had an oil change appointment for 8:00am, arrived early for what? Waited 2 hrs for a simple oil change. Last time I came in for a oil change they recommended me to get new tires so I got 4 “BRAND NEW TIRES” I come in today for an oils change and guess what? They recommend I get new tires ... I’m done with this place
Absolutely horrible waited 3 hours and my car wasn’t even taken in for an oil change. I had an appointment as well.
No clue what theyre doing. Went in for a belt that came off because I work nearby. $1400 later, they installed a water pump, thermostat and pulley. Twice in the next week I went back because the belt was still coming off. After the third time when they couldnt fix it, I went to my own mechanic and found it was a hose clamp rubbing on the belt. It took him 10 minutes. The manager at Pep Boys is a nice guy, but the workers are clueless.
It has been 4 hours and I’m still waiting for them to replace 1 simple tire. Smh!
Have utilized them for tires and repairs on my and my sons cars ... can get busy on weekends so best to arrange for the work, leave the car and come back when its complete ... friendly and knowledgeable staff ... reasonable prices and even better when they have sales ...
I took my car for tire rotation and balance which took 3 hours mind you there was only 2 customers ahead of me. Take a day off if u want pepboys to fix ur car.
They couldnt apply a coupon, now i have to return and speak to a manager, waste of time.

I use them for tires, do most of my own service. They do a good job, only small complaint is the little add ons for tpms rebuild kits. Do they really rebuild them?
Was expected to wait one hour to have my headlight bulbs replaced. No problem, Im a patient person. Make it two hours and 15 mins and well, even the most patient of us would believe that to be a bit much.Anyway, the service staff kindly explained that they did not carry the lights I currently had on (a led system someone had installed before selling me the car) and that they would be replacing it for the original yellow lights that originally came with the model of my vehicle. I agreed because I needed my lights for today, couldnt go around looking for other options and risk a few more nights of driving with one functional light. Fun paying for downgrades though.Besides the waiting time, there were some behaviors/issues I noticed while sitting around (unrelated to my car predicaments) that have made me rethink servicing my car here.
Im currently here as i type this.. came in at 11:30 am and its now 1:30 pm and my car hasnt even gotten on the lift yet. when i tell you they are slow, their SLOW. the workers dont care how slow they go, their eating righr in front of you, and they pay no attention to you unless you speak up. i was told my car was gonna be brought in an hour ago and still nothing. the experience here is by far the worst ive had. i cant speak for othee pepboys but, this one is absolute sh*t!

After making a appointment at 3:30 I waited over 2 and a half hours to get the oil done after being told that it would take an hour. This is the last time I come here. I wouldnt recommend using pep boys for anything. I might add that I was the only person waiting for my car to be done. If I could give zero stars I would.

Terrible terrible service. Waited a whole HOUR AND A HALF for them to tell me they only had 3 of the 4 tires I purchased online a week before coming. So it took them an HOUR AND A HALF of me being there sitting and doing nothing but wasting my time so they could go get the tire. IT TOOK THEM ALMOST 2 HOURS JUST TO GO GET THE TIRES! Worst service ever. I tell them to just put the old tires back on so I can leave because I can’t sit in your store waiting for you while people in the crew are literally walking around in slow motion with plates of food as if there aren’t 3-5 people waiting for them to finish and then all of a sudden they find a fourth tire!! What a surprise!?! Avoid coming here at all costs if you value your time even a little tiny bit.
This is my second time here for service and both times, the dept manager has been amazing. Always honest and up front. Always curtious and professional.
Dont give them any business. The person who claims to be the store manager has a real attitude problem and doesnt know how to talk to people. When you call him out on the way he talks and treats you he kicks you out of the store. Instead of trying to help he rather be confrontational.
Bought HIDs from them. Color was wrong, asked to swap out with correct color, they didnt have color I wanted. Asked manager for return or store credit and he wouldnt give anything. Very rude and disrespectful. Now Im stuck with a brand new unopened box and lost $140.

Service Department review:Made an apt online for Oil Change. Waited 20min for vehicle to be taken in. After being in bay for 1hr, I was greeted by Luis who told me about the addition $2k in work my car needed - Including brakes that have already been replaced once and still stop great. After I declined all the additional work I was made to wait an additional 30 minutes. Almost like a punishment I guess. This place is poorly run!

If I could give them a 0 I would. I went and got my car fixed 2 weeks ago. I told them my starter was going bad, they told me it wasn’t my starter. Now my starter is completely gone and the manger is trying to up charge the price of labor and a new start I think this Pep boys is the worst.

Service received as described, Customer service is ok. 4 starts as the mechanic the brought the car to the front parked over the yellow bumpers. If car was 1 inch lower, he would hit my bumper in to it. They dont pay attention much how they handle the car. They just press the pedal to the metal.

Went to pet boys for a brake change which was 275-350...I left and come back the guy said i found more problem so he said the bill is 900+ i just took my car and left such a RIP off. He didnt even give me a list of what was wrong 👎
The guy cannot even locate one stupid account. Almost asked me for my mother’s maiden name. Don’t come here, nothing but rudeness and laziness. They do not know anything about the customer service.

I was two hours away from my house when it happened. My brakes started grinding and I left two tires went flat. The service I received from these fine associates not only met, but far exceeded my expectations!Starting over the phone, I was greeted with kindness and fantastic customer service. The gentleman on the phone went out of his way to make sure I would be taken care of and roll out of the store that night! This was and emergency, and once I arrive at the storefront, I wasnt worried anymore.Angie M., the awesome assistant manager, and Brayan, a genuinely good person and knowledgeable mechanic, diagnosed the issues with my car very quickly and presented me with a fair, and affordable quote. These were the best people Ive ever had work on my car, and I highly recommend this location to anyone reading this. Angie and Brian were absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much!!

I’ve been at another Pep Boys before, but this location went up and beyond to make sure I got what I needed. The Assistant Manager Gabe demonstrated great leadership amongst his team, even when he may have believed no one was watching. I even noticed he was very professionally handling an irate customer over the phone. He was all over the place, but definitely seeks to go up and beyond with his team for their customers!
Waited 90 minutes to get a flat tire fixed. Then told me it couldnt be fixed and tried to sell me a new tire. My tire had only 20k miles on it and had a screw in the tread. I walked out and took it to our local tire guy who fixed it no problem. Wouldve gone there first but they were closed at the time. Was worth waiting for the next day.
One of the employees who happens to be my friend was working on my car in the back. When I go to the back I hear one of the coworkers talking nasty, cursing and screaming at my friend. I was absolutely disgusted and disappointed by the way my friend was being treated. The coworker who was being so nasty goes by the name of Carlos some of you may know him if you go here. And if your reading this Pep boys I absolutely dont care maybe you should learn how to treat your employees with respect and learn how to be professional.
There I was, sitting outside waiting for my appointment for, about, 20 minutes wondering when they would FINALLY open! Why are they late?! Its cold!!! Turns out I had to go up front, first, and check in. Whoops! I wish Id known! I had made an appointment for 8 AM so i can get in quick and out to run my errands, however, I didnt get the start I needed cause of my mistake. They called and let me know, then got it all taken care of. Other than this major hiccup, which I wont fault them for, I had a great experience. Clean store, remodeled, great service, incredible prices, not much to complain about. Heck they even had coffee and donuts waiting! Thanks for being great and having incredible prices! Make sure if you make an appointment, go inside, first, and check in!
I brought my car in as I had a nail in the tire and upon attempting to take off the lug nuts an entire bolt sheared right off. Pep Boys was able to fix this however, they didnt actually plug the tire!!! I mentioned the nail numerous times, including before leaving, as it wasnt listed as a line item on my receipt. Two days after the service was performed I leave for work and find I have a flat yet again. I realize I came in two hours before closing on a Sunday, so everyone was probably ready to go home, however such an oversight is completely inexcusable. I will not be visiting this location again.

No different than the hackensack location. Ive now completely given up on pep boys. Their lack of customer service makes me upset since Im the one on the losing end. I didnt mind the wait but the lack of courtesy from the associates is what bothered me the most. You have to explain to the customer why youre charging an amount. Explain to me the benefits of what youre trying to upsell me. The thing is that management has to look hard and fix the issues now before its too late.

If anybody wants their vehicle to have more problems after it leaves the shop and have crappy customer service, then this is the place for you. I brought my pick-up truck to get new tires installed not even a week ago and I drove out of the shop with an electrical problem. Explain to me how that happens! Not even 2 minutes driving off their lot that I noticed the problem and when I called them back about it they told me to come back the next morning. So the next morning I get to this pep boys only to be told that they didnt have a technician on site. What a load of crap!! So I decide to bring my truck to the dealer and they confirmed that someone was tampering with my tow-hitch wiring harness. When I brought it to pep boys attention, the manager there completely ignored me. How about that! Not only was this manager the worst at trying to resolve my issue but he had no problem covering up crooks and sneaks who work for him. BOTTOM LINE - they just want your money and they will tamper with your car so that you could bring it back to them to fix. So if I were you, Id go somewhere else.
This store used to be really good, but they changed it to have a surplus of parts and took away a lot of the accessories. Hard to find anything on your own.

Lets be real.... Its pep boys. The service writer is a cool dude prompt and informative. But well lets just say they did a brake job and theyre lucky I tested the brakes before driving away..... And no matter what they do the tires never seem balanced.

I have been to this place twice, and both times i have received the best service ever, Luis was the guy who helped me both times, this giy should get a raise and promotion because he is very good at what he does im looking forward to my next oil change.
Went to get a nail off a tire and get it repaired, even though it was gonna cost $25 (4 times more than what street shops charge) I was fine with that because it was 6pm (other shops are already closed). The guy at the counter tells me that I will have to wait 2 hours. Since I live close by I asked if I have to wait there or could I come back in 2 hours, I also asked for a ticket number, the rep said dont worry we will help you at that time. I come back at 8:11pm and the guy tells me that the service guy just left. And that I was late 11 minutes. What was this guys plan, make the service tech get overtime for 20 minutes because his shift was over at 8pm? Bad experience. This happened Saturday July 27th 2019

Very upset, went 25th to get a brake flush, light bulbs done. other services were to much vs the dealer so i got these services done here. After went to the dealership they said pepboys didnt complete the brake flush, but pepboys said they did. the light bulbs went out tonight and i almost got a ticket. this leaves me to believe they DID NOT DUE WHAT I PAID THEM TO DO! they said it must be a electrical issue but i went to the dealer to confirm this and the dealer said they are WRONG. horrible serviceim thinking of charge-backing the charge with my credit card company because they didnt do the service i paid.
I really dont understand all the bad reviews. Each time Ive brought my truck to this Pep Boys the mechanics and repair manager were very honest and professional. Ive never been overcharged or made to buy something I do not need. This is one of the few places I actually trust. We need more of them. Keep up the good work!

I had a good experience on my first visit when I had the 30k miles maintenance on my vehicle approximately three weeks ago. I was told my car needed front break pads, and made an appointment to get the work done. When I took my car to get the service, the representative gave me a much higher price. I questioned the person, mentioned the price difference, couldnt give me an answer. The representative called the manager, I waited for someone, no one came. I left and took my vehicle to a local shop, got the same service for less the amount.

I checked in at 11:59am and I walked outside at 1:10pm and my car is still parked outside the store. I come back in and ask how long and the guy said it’s up next. Up next was another 10 minutes before it was actually taken into the shop. It’s 1:40pm and I’m still waiting. You should at least advise your customers that it’s gonna be at least an hour or so before they take it inside.
The service was OK if that and the knowledge was terrible. I literally had to find what I needed on my own even after the assistant said they all they had was one item.
Solomon and the rest of the team did a great job getting my truck fixed. They were extremely busy but still handled it well. They were able to tow my truck from my house within an hour from my call.
I shop at this store all the time. I own a couple of muscle cars. speed shop was the place to go to until they got rid of everyone that knew what they were talking about, not so bad for me but for customers that need help with speed shop parts and cant fine anyone to help, they would just walk out. Another problem they have is that after 6 or 7 pm there is no one to help at all, and the local area thieves know this and thats when they go shopping. Three stars, thats all I give.
Im amazed by the service at this pepboys. I have dealt with many dealerships and other pepboys before but this place is different from them all. I wont be visiting any other place for service besides this. Everyone in service was spectacular in understanding my concerns and making me feel comfortable that I wont get ripped off like most people feel like when visiting car shops. This is true for the service gentlemen I dealt with and especially Gabe at service desk. I look forward to bringing not only mine but my familys services and car issues to this pepboy from now on.
Solomon is super friendly and helpful. They give estimates over the phone and dont try to b.s. you. HOWEVER I went to have my CV joint replaced and when they did, they did not seat the axle properly. This is SO DANGEROUS. I could have gotten into a very serious accident because of their negligence. Luckily, I know my car and have a general knowledge of mechanics and knew something wasnt right. The only reason why Im not suing is that no one is hurt and they corrected the problem for free. Dont leave your car here if you can help it. You need to watch them.
All I wanted was a thermostat and a gasket for my van. The salesperson took a very long time to find it and insisted there was no gasket necessary. I asked her again to make sure since I was going far and could not return, she again said no. I needed a gasket afterall. Service at this location is slow, incompetent and subpar, I will not be returning.

Also he gives you a look that you are the enemy to the store. He doesnt have any respect or any experience in customer services at all. He asked the same question over 8 times for same answer. Arrived at 11:30 A.M. for a scheduled appointment for Pep Boys Service for a Free Brake Check. When I arrived I told service where my car is at and I gave them my keys. Waited an hour and looked through the mirror and didnt see my car. Then I waited another 30 minutes no sight of my car; but what I didnt understand was that there were multiple garages with no cars inside them. Service techs walking around rather then working on my car. Another hour passes by and my car still isnt being serviced, but other customers are being serviced while Im waiting as five customers come and go having their tires changed, oil being changed, engine being checked and still Im waiting for nearly two hours at this point. Finally at 2 P.M. my car is being serviced a service tech comes out lifts my car then takes out a flash light flashes here and there and then walks away. I wait 20 minutes until I get the results of a check that lasted a minute and a half. Its 2:20 P.M. and they tell me Your breaks are fine Wait a bit until we bring down your car I waited another 10 minutes watching as the service techs are messing around eating while Im here 3 hours still waiting. Left at 2:30 P.M. with no paper work of servicing being done. 3 Hours for a Free Brake Check. 3 HOURS!!!!! Worst Customer Service Ive ever encountered!!

My father and I went to change our trucks tires. Everything was going well until my father just simply asked a question to one of the mechanics. The mechanic Miguel responded very rudely.
It was open on sundays which is nice, they fixed my battery and changed my oil with no issues. So overall good experience.

My car is currently being diagnosed after pulling out of the pep boys store and my car supposedly was fixed. My car shut down not even half a block away from the facility. They advised me to call pepboys tow truck. I called and no one answered. I almost got into an accident and my car was stuck in the middle of the highway. Fortunately my friend had AAA and was able to have the car towed back to the pep boys facility. It has been a total of 11 days that they have been working on my car and they keep saying that it’s being diagnosed and that it should be done on the day they told me this. This is costing me several hundreds of dollars due to having to pay a rental to get to work. I already paid pepboys over 2,000 for the service which was to fix the abs system that they said was not working properly. The brake pedal still hit the floor and there is still a rattle sound on the back portion of my car. This is the current experience and I still do not have my car since they are still diagnostic the problem. Every day that passes I have to pay for a rental. This is ridiculous.
They always have what I need. Great for quick shopping.
