Decent selection decent prices

Unless youre willing to call and schedule around their made up buy times then have yourself a successful trip wirh selling your clothes. I got turned away twice, one with a door sign and the second time walking in and telling me they stopped accepting buys. This is 2 days in a row. They said they usually stop around 6, and its not even 6pm yet. Told me the best thing to do is try to stop by before 2pm and if after that then call ahead. Extremely inconvenient. I was more than willing to sell my items and then buy more while I waited to see what they were willing to accept. Forget that noise. You lost a customer. ALSO, if its about customer service youre dealing with a bunch of teenagers, so good luck with that.

Staff is friendly polite and overall awesome.The store felt cramped even if i were the only person in the aisle and the clothing sold was either an anorexics daydream or was something a depressed Miami grandma would wear.

Great prices as always. Near new clothes for 1/4 the price of retail stores. Highly recommended!

Took a bunch of clothes from venus, Sheen, and clothes that I bought that I could not fit because Ive gained weight and they rejected Im talking about they were not stylish enough LOL PS they still had tags

Brought in tons of shirts that were still in style and in good condition. Only got $30 for them. One of the ladies working there didn’t greet me when I came up to ask a question. She looked me up and down like she was judging me.

Bought a jacket for $15, got to my car realized there was a 6in stain on the back, went back in to return it 15 min later to put the money back on my card (I understand there is no cash back policy). They said they could buy it back for 4.90...or give me store credit. Just wanted a refund, their policy does not say “no refunds, all sales are final.”

Every time I go I always leave with something! The staff has always been friendly and they always buy my stuff for a great price.

Love Platos for good clothes at a decent price. They carry shoes, purses and jewelry as well.

I was on vacation from Tennessee with my family. My 13 yr old daughter and I came in to get some clothes. We asked where the punk/funky clothes. We were told its just mixed in. I later asked for help finding clothes in my size cause the XL dresses were all mixed up with other sizes. I got told that we get busy and dont get time to organize things. I got the feeling as if I was bothering them asking questions. What a bad start to a vacation!

Definitely a great selection of mens clothing. Lots of different brands. They got TONS of Polo gear on deck at all times with basic Polos priced $14-$20 which is dope. People on here complaining are mad because either they feel like the workers were rude, they wouldnt purchase clothing they brought in, or they were paid/offered less than they expected..Keep in mind they sell this stuff cheap af, so obviously they not paying top dollar. Buy high sell low is a terrible business model. Employees always super nice to me so idk.. im nice to them also so maybe thats all it is. Id say give them a shot youll definately find some good buys. If you only looking to sell then probably not your best option if youre looking for top dollar but theyre literally the only people thats willing to buy your clothes locally. Only other option is online so if nothing else they offer the convenience of buying on the spot.

I was greeted by a friendly young lady. She took my clothes and said it would take around an hour. They took all but one because the pants has an older label. Got some extra cash.

I shop here for the good pricing and unique finds, but after probably 20 visits in the last couple of years, I have not *once* experienced anything close to good customer service. I keep giving them the benefit of the doubt and have avoided leaving this review for a long time. If I walk into a store to sell or buy items, and the only words spoken to me are the absolute bare minimum required to communicate the sale, the staff has failed to provide for the customer. Period. There are tons of people who need jobs right now who would not take their position for granted, especially during a pandemic. I worked retail for years and people would’ve been let go for having such trash, annoyed attitudes towards their paying customers. Maybe one day Plato’s Pensacola will hire/train more effectively, but I don’t have high hopes.

Awful. I try to sell them my Real leather boots and Brand clothes with no holes not older than a year. I have a really good taste. Well they try to tell me the clothes were not good. I looked around and just saw awful over priced clothes. One or two nice things for a good price but thats it. They were for sure stressed out by the anmound of clothes they got.

Apparently they dont always buy clothing so before you take the time to put together items with the intention of selling them make sure to call ahead or at least drive by and look for a handwritten sign on the front door stating that theyre not buying clothing right now. Imo they should either consistently provide this service or developed a more efficient way of notifying customers before they cause even more wasted trips, also, dont expect to get paid anywhere near what the clothings worth.

Absolutely awful! I called specifically to ask if they were accepting clothes. I made a special trip, an hour away from my house, way before the cut off time that was communicated to me. The teenager at the front refused to see my items. Said they had too many already. Horrible customer service. Also, dirty inside!

I took two containers of clothing to try to get a little extra spending money to shop with the girl who went threw my thing took all of 3 min and said that my stuff had stains and was to worn. I had several things that still has the tags on them. I understand if she thought was not trendy enough but to say they were not purchasing my items due to stains and to worn is far from the truth. When I went to check out with the cool stuff that I did find the two girls that were running the regerster we very friendly and helpful. Its hit or miss at this place due to young staffing. But I do love platos closet to go find my treasures. Just wish the stuff was a little more friendly.

Usually love this store, however, the young woman, Black American with red and black hair, was exceptionally rude tonight about a mask. It was uncalled for to be so rude and unexpected. After, putting one one she still was rude and snippy about an apparel question. I also dont understand the final sale tempooray policy considering I hoped everything was waahed/sanitized beforehand. Thank goodness, one employee volunteered to help me with the united belts that I was looking at for my daughter. So, using covid as an excuse to be rude or lazy is pathetic.

Got a super cute top for 3 dollars! Good store for in style thrifting! But they’re very picky about what they can take so make sure your stuff is in season. Service was good.

Routinely wont accept any of my clothing because theyre Mature Styles when im a 24 year old woman who is simply trying to get rid of clothing from 60 pounds ago. Im starting to believe their Mature Styles code is saying We dont accept fat people clothing. NOTHING is wrong with the items, and I bought them literally last year. Theyre casually cute sweaters and shirts. Also they dont accept scarves in the winter??? Wont be going back any time soon.

Me and my friends recently visited the platos closet on Davis highway..we never intentionally left our masks in the car so we go into the store and the cashier at the front desk asks us did we have a mask but me I’m thinking it’s ok because theirs a guy talking to the same cashier HE HAS NO MASK ON RIGHT IN HER FACE I just think it was kinda messed up that y’all harassed us the whole store visit we didn’t even get to shop because a gang of employees are attacking us about mask when obviously you guys aren’t enforcing the rules or are we not privileged?

If I could rate this nothing I would. Some friends had told me some platos closets sell maternity clothes so I called and wanted to ask before I decided to drive over. Called and then got hung up on TWICE as soon as I said the work maternity. Could’ve at least had the decency to politely say no I wasn’t going to say anything but the fact that it happened twice is just unprofessional and ignorant.

Buyers Beware!! These girls have absolutely NO customer skills. Respect..is out the window. God forbid you are over 25 yrs. Old or not a size 3 or less, they all just stare, glare, and choose to overlook us older..Adults. Are they NOT Stereotyping? I dont like posting negative things, but the people here are incredibly rude and my wife and I had probably about $1,000 worth of very nice business casual female and male clothes. And because it was not 16 to 21 something close, they turn their nose without it and would not give us a penny! The employees are all super young and maybe not even drinking age. So they have next to no manners. If youre looking for some fast cash, I would advise you to try to sell your clothes somewhere else because this place is a waste of your time if youre a decent hard-working adults.

It could be a good find for teens. Overpriced for used clothes I thought. Only trends or older women clothes. Nice service.

You know, I read all the reviews before going in to sell and really didnt have high expectations, so I wasnt expecting to have a great experience. I took in some mens clothes for my bf, polos button ups and jeans totally maybe 10 items. They took 4 of the 10 and they paid me $18 and some change for it, and you know what, I was pleasantly pleased with my experience. The customer service was great, especially with them being a bit busy, they just didnt have time to chat you up. I was nice to them, and the same respect was given to me. They are a business and sorry they dont take certain items, just like some grocery stores dont have necessarily all the same brands as another. They dont have to accept what you are trying to sell to them. One of the shirts they didnt accept was a dress shirt from mens warehouse. It was an expensive shirt but I cant be mad they didnt take it because it was a 50/50 chance. It wasnt right for their store. I will continue to try and sell the rest online. I made more money selling those items to them than I would be gotten with them sitting in my closet or having to go to good will because nobody would but them.

Very picky on what theyre willing to buy.

They have misrepresented the store as being within city limits, it is not. Denied me entry with my daughter to shop because of masks. Never asked me about medical conditions. Have lost a customer that will never step foot back inside.

Had a pretty painless experience here. I brought in a lot of clothes and they didnt take much, but I got $40 so thats awesome. The wait was several hours, but its first come first serve and they take your phone number. Great if you have a bunch of excess clothes and want to earn some thing before you donate the rest. Maybe go eat something or shop at dressbarn while you wait.

Brought clothes to sell. I used to work for Plato’s so I know how the process works. They told me they could buy 2 items out of my 2 bags. I got home and there’s 5 total items missing. All my clothes were balled up and a white sweater has pen marks on it and there’s a gaping hole in a dress that was brand new. They said most of what I brought was “mature”but 90% of it was Francesca’s, forever21, and American Eagle... weird. I’ll never go back to this location

Despite the 3 star rating on most of these reviews, I enjoy this place. I come here to shop for a night out on the town and find outfits that fit. However, the fashion can be outdated and/or some items overpriced. I do enjoy coming here. I visited the store yesterday and was greeted by the workers at the front. Overall, go for good sweaters, workout clothes, maybe a crop top or romper.

Went in with $250 cash to buy a gift card. No other customers at counter. One girl leisurely tagging items, another looking at her phone. I waited 5 minutes, no one even acknowledged me, even though they did look up and see me. I left and went to TJ Maxx. They do teach customer service skills to their employees.

Took 2 bags of all name brand Stuff to this store, EXPRESS, ABERCROMBIE, AMERICAN EAGLE, LAUREN CONRAD, NEVER BEFORE WORN CLOTHES.... I stood behind a rack and watched the young girl dump the stuff on the counter and put it right back in the bag, with out even looking at it! She took ONE item out and offered me 50¢ for it. I’m not sure how this store stays open! Don’t waste your time

Do not waste your time selling to this place. $18 for 2 pairs of miss me jeans and a brand new pair of booties. For them to turn around and sell for $50 a piece for the jeans and $20 for the shoes!? No thanks. Never again will I waste my time or gas.

Had a good experience until I saw a pair of boots that were behind the counter and sales person told that they were on hold and I asked when the hold expired so I could come back and she said well actually Im buying them. Didnt think employees could refuse sales to a customer.

Its a good store just need switch out there clothing they have had the same things for a quite some time now. But I love the athletic wear thats always on point.

Don’t waste your time selling here. The girl told me I had a hole in a shirt but couldn’t show me where when I asked her. I knew she was lying because I checked myself multiple times. They claim they didn’t take an excellent condition Michael Kors tote but you look up at the purses and there are so many old purses it was ridiculous. I turned in boutique clothing that many young girls wear but they claim it was business attire. No darling. The only reason I gave it one star is to write the review.

Absolute WORST Plato’s closet I’ve ever been to.I brought in a bag of barely worn, name brand( Liz Claiborne, Altard State, Old Navy, etc) clothes in. Was told it would be a 45 minute wait. Ended up waiting an hour and a half, went back up to the counter and was told “oh sorry we thought someone had already called you. “ They wouldn’t take a single item because “ they were overstocked on a lot of things right now”.This place is run by rude teenagers who know absolutely nothing about customer service.

Very rude sales associate. Surprised at just how rude this young lady was to me. I couldnt remember what phone number I used to sign up with and I guess I just really aggravated her. Once I realized which number I used she refused to fix it in the system so that it would go towards my purchase points. She kept saying OK but it doesnt say that where I am looking and its not coming up in the system. I watched and it did come up as my account but it was too late because she had already processed under the incorrect telephone number. She was trying to tell me as per the very ugly face she was making that there was no way in hell she was about to redo the transaction under the correct number which would have given me my points. They were not even busy, not even hardly. I am not a confrontational person and didnt want to take up anyone elses time so I just left quietly. She made me feel like I was doing something wrong and the way she was looking at me the entire time... Wow. Still havent been able to get this out my system. I am literally the last person that would ever provoke anyone to be so offensive. 2nd and last time I shop there.

Stopped in while visiting from out of town. The store is huge and there was a nice selection. We caught them in the middle of marking down all winter stuff so we got a ton of things at a great price. 50% off.The sales associate was friendly and helpful. I would certainly return if I come back to the area.

I ALWAYS come in and buy stuff from the store and I had a lot of clothes I figured Ill see if yall could buy them... GREAT clothes and they only took the club dresses thats it... the girl that went through my clothes had to no older than 18 and she was so rude and wouldnt even ring me out and this was just last night.. yall will not be getting none of my money anymore if yall staff is gonna treat the paying customers like that.

I have been to this store 3 times in attempt to sell different items and they never accepted any of my things for ridiculous reasons. The last time I tried to sell items they were very busy. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but then they told me the wait was 1.5 hours and to leave my stuff in a bin. I did so and waited at another store for an hour and 45 minutes until I decided it wasnt worth the wait and I was going to go get my stuff whether it had been priced or not. I walk back into the store to see that they had finished my bag approximately 30 minutes prior and they didnt call me. Then they go through a list of reasons why they wouldnt accept any of my items including styles too professional, stray threads, dont accept specific brands, etc some of those items had never been worn yet they still claimed they were faded and wouldnt accept the items. no item was damaged or had any stray threads as they had claimed. One shirt still had a tag on it and they wouldnt offer anything! Unless your stuff is brand new, dont expect any sort of offer and even then I heard they offer you close to nothing. You are better off donating your items to a shelter or a good will.

This is a nice place to bring your extra clothes. The staff is usually a mix of attitude, information, rudeness, and professionalism. You never know how they will act. Its usually clean and cool. The prices wont be much, as I said, but they will buy absolutely everything they think they arent over enventoried, or however you spell it. I mean they wont just look through and say no, they actually look through and do the best they can to take all of it in. I am just so disappointed in the way that the last three Platos closet I have used, numerous times a piece, have prices drop so much each time.

This establishment puts out media expressing how they’re eager to trade well kept, quality brand clothing: I have come to this store multiple times with bags of high quality, excellent condition clothing. Each time they take one or none of my clothes. Its a misguided venture- driving across town and using resources only to find that false advertisement and the opinion of a teenager are holding the fate of a would-be profit in their hands. Thoroughly disappointed and tonight was the final straw. Do not waste your time or resources attempting to sell your clothes to this poorly ran establishment that doesnt acknowledge quality.

This place is a complete joke. Perfectly good clean clothes I brought them. About 30 different things and some hardly used riding boots. They bold faced lied to my face telling me why they wouldn’t take the clothes. And then wanted to tell me they refuse to take “undergarments”? Um... what? It was a sheer blouse that was see through on the back and wanted to embarrass me in front of a whole line telling me they don’t take used/dirty undergarments..... oh and that they don’t take light wash denim or boot cut jeans.. especially when they have racks upon racks full. For a place that takes used clothes, they sure are way too damn picky. Maybe a sign on the door for the absolute nit picky rules they want to make up. Then to tell me I have to come back at the end of August early September for them to take my boots? So why can’t you take them now? And on top of that, threw and JUMBLED up and WADDED up my nice clean clothes in the garbage back that they COMPLETLEY RIPPED open and REFUSED to give me another bag to carry the whole bag full of clothes up three flights of stairs back to my apartment. I will never ever step foot back in this place ever again! And I will definitely make sure all of my friends and family know not to come back here. And seeing how I work at a major business here in Pensacola... I’ll make sure everyone knows what happened at well. I’ve NEVER been so embarrassed and mad a store before ever. COMPLETLY HORRID CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DISGUSTING BATHROOM AS WELL.-10 stars if I could.

The teenagers working there talk or text on there phone and if ur a older customer are rude. I tried to sell clothes and was told to never bring anything back because I was to old and they have younger customers as I asked for a manager she said this is my store and I make the rules. I had shopped there spending hundreds of dollars a trip until then I do have a teenager

Terrible customer service. The girls working there are very rude. They did not give us a printout if the items they purchased. Also if you have any items that they do not know the brand name of don’t waste your time. Will be the last time we ever go back. Only gives 2 dollars on 50-60 dollars....

Platos closet is a low price clothing store. Slightly used and new clothes, shoes, etc. Relaxed atmosphere with many changing rooms.

Absolutely LOVE Platos closet!!! This store is filled with high end (including designer) brands. I have bought Nike addidas, Victorias secret, and even a few Gucci items from here for EXTREMELY affordable pieces. Im talking eight dollars a shirt.

I went in to sell a pair of work shoes that I bought online that didnt quite fit right. Perfect condition. Instead of telling me right then and there that they dont sell professional shoes and clothing, they made me leave the one pair of shoes for an hour and half, and then drive all the back for them. Really... I get first come, first serve but I literally had one item that you knew you would reject. Thanks for wasting my time and gas.

I tried selling a huge bag of nice clothes here last month, but they only took 4 items from it & I only got $8.65 for it. I took the remainder of those clothes out to an interested buyer, I got $200. I never come expecting to get a payday, I keep my really nice clothes and sell what I dont want, but $8.65 for four items out of a garbage bag full!!??!?! lol Great place to take a teen to sell unwanted clothes for a little cash, but its slightly a slap in the face how they analyze your clothes, and write their comments on them when they turn items down. Call ahead of time to see their need to avoid insult.

Its okay. Good for selling clothes for an extra $20. Theyre super picky depending on the person . when you go through the racks youll wonder how some of that stuff was even acceptable. Expensive for worn out clothes as well, you can get a nasty north face jacket for $40-50 or go to Ross and find one for $50-60 new.Depends on the person. Great way to unload some clothes.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME SELLING YOUR CLOTHES HERE! I went in with a trash bag full of clothes and wallet sacks full of clothes. They were all name brand clothes and some of them that I bought and only wore once. So I decided I would take them in there. They took like 4 items out of the bag and gave me $11.48 for them. Then told me that they were stains on them and that they were faded. I washed those clothes before I took them up there and I checked to make sure they didnt have stains on them. They didnt have stains and none of them were faded. Its a waste of time and they rip you off.

They offer me low but expected prices for my things. I’m pleased I receive any reimbursement at all considering I’d just go to goodwill instead.

Went in @ 7:10 to sell a few items. They were closing at 8 instead of 9 because of the weather (wasn’t raining, thundering, or lightning) wouldn’t let me sell anything and told me to come back the next day. Why couldn’t I sell to them? I live in Gulf Breeze.

The clothes are always reasonabley priced and they always have the in style or latest trends. But some of the girls in their need work on their customer service. Someone greets you when you come in or at least one girl will say hello to you. While checking out or trying to sell your clothes, the communication is poor. No eye contact, the girls are always doing something else while trying to talk to you at the same time. No please or thank you. Not even a have a good day. Its a very Miss Priss and sassy feeling. No women work there. Just girls.

I took a bag full of clothes it did not have stains and it was not even out of style. They wanted to give 3$ for only 2 things. They told me that my clothes had stains and were out of style when in stores they still sell the clothes I took here. When you go over the clothes they sell most of them smell have stains look so worn out. Im serious with this they dont sell good clothes here. And there shoes look so worn out they look old. Dont waste your time here is not worth at all

Went into the store about a month ago with my mother who is on the heavier side but was wanting to but some new clothes because she lost close to 40 pounds. The girl at the register completely ignored her & even let someone skip in front of us in line.If youre looking to waste your time with 15 year old wanna-bees then this is the store for you!

This is a neat second hand store. It isnt always the most organized & sometimes the clothes are a bit too used for the price but Ive found several things I really love here.

If I could do less than 1 star, I would. As far as shopping here, there’s nothing reasonable about it; so please stop getting your associates to write glowing reviews about your store and pricing and overall shopping experience. Also, they rip you off when you sell to them. Now granted, some money is better than none, but to give me $6 for 3 Vineyard Vines shirts (that were worn maybe twice) then turn around and sell them for $30, that’s purely insulting. I saw a Kate Spade purse they were selling for $100, it was faded and dingy and on my life I saw the EXACT SAME purse on the Kate Spade website BRAND NEW for $125. The fact that this place is in business is beyond me. Go to TJ MAXX or Ross to get new clothing for cheaper prices (no I don’t work at either of these places or in retail in general) but I would go out of my way to avoid shopping here. Employees are condescending and management is a joke. Bathrooms are one step above a trucker bathroom. Also, invest in air freshener or plugins because y’all’s store smells like bootyhole!

I love Platos Closet But Really Dont bother trying to get a Good price offer for your used clothes, they want To offer you little to nothing for your Namebrand clothes! Sure If you need a little of money and dont really care if you spent 90 dollars on a shirt and theyre offering you 5 dollars for it then go for it.......Im not bashing they have offered me next to nothing for two totes full of namebrand clothes! Other than that, They have Really good Deals but Ill honestly ask About wether you guys Have ever had Bedbugs or something like that with all the used clothes yall put out, Im pretty sure you guys dont wash the clothes Ive smelled a few around the armpit XD

They have tons of clothes but Im often disappointed. I have a hard time finding things that I like there and havent had a lot of success unfortuanately.
