Theres plenty of parking. When we arrived, the parking lot looked full but seating was available. This is an order at the counter, food brought to the table type of place. The food was good and satisfying. For those concerned with COVID precautions: it was easy to keep space but none of the staff members were wearing masks at all.
First, it is pretty pricey. Ordered breakfast for 5 and two were basic plain Jane for little kids. The total price was over $77. They do offer a military discount so there is that. Secondly, the food was not great. For the price I was thinking my breakfast socks were about to be knocked off. The cinnamon rolls were good, but overly sweet. One bite and we were done with them. The potatoes have like a sour cream and onion flavor to them, but theyre not cooked long enough. My son complained about the burrito because it was loaded with more spinach than anything else. My daughters waffle was hard and hurt her mouth with every bite and the syrup was watery and had a funny taste to it. Maybe thats fancy syrup and we arent used to the flavor, but it was weird. My French toast was amazing except for the syrup part. We were really excited about this adventure, but extremely disappointed by it.
The only reason I gave it a one star is because I couldn’t give it 0 stars! As you can see the food is burned and straight out of a box!! We spent $60 bucks and those pictures show you how much we ate!! It is nasty, the coffee taste like wooden stick and everything else taste like it came right out of a box off the shelves of Walmart!!! Do NOT waste your money !!
My wife requested birthday brunch and she picked this amazing restaurant Egg wit. She looked on Google and saw the best reviews and this was the place of her choice. Now walking up to it from the outside this does not look like a fancy establishment. But for this day and age the seating area was well spread out and comfortable for a nice brunch. The inside area is extremely large and laid out. Now the surprise came to me is the food they serve you. I was looking at the menu and 🤔 thought it was kind of pricey for breakfast food. This was until the food arrived. The pictures that I am showing really do not do justice. The omelette was the size of a burrito. The sourdough toast with the butter and jam, I could have ate that all by itself. Only thing I was thinking they were kind of skimpy on was the beverages. The drink size they served us were kind of small. Then I got to thinking thats how most places get filled up with liquid first. This place its the opposite of that ☺️We left full and very satisfied with our breakfast/brunch dining experience. The service was well organized. So at the end of the day I feel like I got my moneys worth and thats a very satisfying feeling 😁
This was our second time going there. We were just as pleased by our meals as we were the first time. The food is delicious, healthy, and nice portions! The staff is friendly and the place is nicely set up and clean. I recommend it as a restaurant you will want to return to enjoy, too.
I went on a Sunday morning around 1030. The wait was about 45 minutes. I did not have any indication that this place was a cafeteria style place. Its not like a buffet at all but you order first by standing in line, then they bring it out to you by a number at your table. You have to get your own silverware, napkins, salt/pepper/hot sauce, all that. The only purpose of a waiter is to bring your food and take the number. The place felt pretty gross, including the bathroom. It is small and not nearly as nice as the fake pictures they have posted on here. The food in my picture looks pretty good and I was actually excited thinking maybe the wait was worth it... it was not. The two skillets in my pictures cost us over $40 with orange juice out of a gallon jug without a brand on it. Those two cups of orange juice cost $8 but it tasted good. The food was very bland and dry and I think theyre marketing staff is probably just significantly better than everything else about the place.
Without a doubt the worst and most overpriced breakfast in my 73 years. I ordered 2 fried eggs, crispy bacon, sausage and toast, along with coffee. We could not drink the coffee, it was so bad ! The eggs were salted so much I couldn’t eat them. The sausage was like leather and the crispy bacon was burned to a crisp. My wife had a waffle that she said had no taste. We left almost the entire meal, coffee included on the table. And this along with a bill of $30. Uncomfortable seating and zero ambiance. Looked like a garage made into a restaurant on the cheap. Told the lady at the counter who did not respond.
Very odd concept. This restaurant flaunts their religion. Self serve as in grab a menu, choose a table, walk up to counter order and pay for your food, given cups to fill yourself, grab your own condiments and silverware. The worst part however was the food. The omelet had a terrible off taste. I have no idea what it was.Side of potatoes tasted like they were fried in an old oil. They had a slight fishy taste.Way too much black pepper in the scramled eggs. You can see it in the photo. The middle of the waffle was so soggy it must have been sitting for a good minute before it was brought to our table. It was too awkward to walk up to the counter and ask for a manager, so we just left. Photo is the amount of food we left behind.
Absolutely wonderful eating experience. The food was freshly made and had unbelievable flavor the staff was very professional courteous and helpful. I would recommend it to everyone. yes it is a little pricey but absolutely worth the price of admission.
Since moving to Florida we have struggled to find good places to eat. We pulled in the parking lot and still wasnt sure. The building does not match the food and service. If you are looking for real food, with fresh ingredients and awesome menu selections, you need to check out egg wits. You pay more than you would at first watch, but hands down better taste, portion sizes. Absolutely worth the money. It will quickly became one of your favorites. This was truly a great find. Egg wits, in Pensacola on Brent Lane, is one of our favorites. Helful service friendly people and the food is amazing. If you like real food, served with people in mind, you need to experience egg wits.
Really good food! Excellent service!! Reasonable prices.❤️😋
I love EVERYTHING about this place. From the food to the ambience. I had the waffle with fried chicken strips, and it was absolutely wonderful, organic and filling. The prices are unbelievably good I’m definitely coming back here again and again. To the owners and managers if this restaurant, thank you so much for caring deeply about the food. It was evident in every single bite.😍
On the outside looking in I was concerned that the food would not be so good. Cigarette butts everywhere trash etc. Coming inside the restaurant is warm and clean. Picture menu displaying the wonderful food was very helpful also paper menu available. The food is amazing and lots of it!! Husband order the burrito and I order the skillet. HINT all dishes come with the potato. The person that took our order said no about it coming with the dishes and was charged for the extra potatoes. But they were very nice about fixing and refunding the issue. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place other then cleaning up the outside would help.
I enjoy the food and the customer service very much. Fresh food and decent variety. The building is old and run down but they make the best it of it.
I Love Thos place, Especially now that its open on the weekends. Staff is Nice and friendly, The Establishment is always very comfortable and clean.
This place literally snatched the life out of me. I watched them prepare a sandwich using REAL avocado - real as in they split it in half and scoop the avocado out - 🤯 mind blown. The food was so good I had to take my shoes off so that I can pop my toes. I have saved this place as a restaurant to visit EVERY time I come to Pensacola, FL
Incredible and fabulous brunch spot on a Sunday. Came around 12 noon. You walk in and place order at the counter, and seat yourself. Very low key and laid back atmosphere. Ordered a plate that came with eggs, bacon and potatoes. Added the pancake. Also had waffles, avocado toast and fruit cup. Everything was delicious and filling. Worth every single penny we spend. We left stuffed and with togo containers. Would recommend and return to this establishment.Pros: no wait, military discount, fast service, extremely friendly staff, great food, dog friendly, relax environment.Cons: none
Big NO! for my wife and I. We tried their biscuit and gravy and chipolte chiken skillet. Both meals were overly salty. The gravy on the biscuits was not not only salty, it was spicy hot. The griddle skillet was cool to the touch and didnt melt all of the chesse. The chicken was dry and one piece was just gristle. The good is the place is clean and quaint. A good amount of clientele is in and out, so some folks like it, but there are much better places to eat IMHO.
I’ve been searching all over Pensacola for the perfect build your own omelette with all type of yummy ingredients. Yesterday, I found it at egg wit! The omelette was amazing! It was perfect. The staff was super friendly and entertaining. I plan on eating there once a week from now on.
Absolutely amazing first experience here. Have been wanting to try this place forever and we are literally in love. If you come here order pancakes. Its a must! They are the best I ever had. It could be just the homemade syrup. Highly recommend! The bacon was delicious and thick cut, we ordered coffee which was also completely delicious and very smooth. The Orange juice taste like you stuck a straw in an orange... its so fresh! WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK 1000% WITH MY WHOLE FAMILY
First time having breakfast here and we both had the Egg Wit omelet which was the absolute best (3 eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach and smoked gouda)! My husband had the hash as his side, which was ok, nothing special. For my side I got the grits with smoked gouda - best grits Ive ever had. Well definitely go back.
First visit made a great impression. The Wits omelet was wonderful. Plenty of good tasting food at the price. Definite go back more often type place.
The food wasnt bad. It was an odd set up though. You seat yourself, figure out what you want and then walk up to the cashier to order. Make your own drink and get your own silverware and other things. If I was going in after a night out I would not to do all that.
Went in ordered our food, paid first and ask for tip first.... Thought this was kind of odd but the place looked pretty cool and we thought we are going to have a good experience.... My wife ordered the French toast and eggs over medium, The eggs came out very undercooked and the egg whites were raw.... Got an order of oats that cost $3.59 and it was basically a small cup.... Was confused and told the gentleman that we didnt ask for a side order we asked for a complete order of oats, he said he would have to charge us and I let him know we had already paid for it.... Came back and told us that what we got was correct for the $3.59.... So do yourself a favor and dont order the oats.... We had to wait 10 minutes for two eggs to be cooked, and then when they came out they were way overcooked ( they took the entire plate back so my wife couldnt eat anything while she was waiting on the eggs)We also ordered the cinnamon rolls which was basically a large biscuit covered with syrup pecans and some type of cinnamon drizzle, Its not really a cinnamon roll Its a cinnamon biscuit........ My wife didnt eat the French toast because she said the bread tasted like it had bits of grain in it, so basically this was just a very bad experience.... My food was just completely mediocre...
This is my third time visit egg wit with my boyfriend. I was very surprised by the cleanliness and speed of service. By far the best service I have received this year during the pandemic. The food was cooked perfectly and tasted fresh and scrumptious. Highly recommend breakfast skillet!!
Bacon was over cooked, the sausage was dry. Scramble eggs were not scramble they were more swirled. With the bacon over cooked there was no flavor. Nothing special or remarkable with this meal. 14 dollars for a basic breakfast that was no different than any other place that would be cheaper. If you want to specialize in breakfast and charge a premium, you should deliver this experience. Sadly it fell far short. I would not recommend.Edit ---------------------------------------------------------------------------UpdateAs you can see from the owners response there is zero care at this location. They took the review as a way to sell their products versus actually replying about the issues their staff and service have.Truly a poor dining experience.
Had a good experience at Egg Wits. Good service and pretty good food with good portion sizes. However I thought it was a little overpriced and was little underwhelmed with the food. It wasn’t bad by any means but Pensacola has a lot of other brunch places I’d prefer to go to.
Best breakfast Ive had in a good long time!
Very nice! Friendly staff! Fast service! Delicious Food! The reviews were great and they exceeded our expectations.
I really like this place we had been wanting to try it for awhile and so we stopped in for breakfast today. I really loved the French kiss toast and the potatoes are amazing with it. The French toast breakfast with grits were a big hit with my son. The only that stopped me from giving them 5 stars is you have to order at the counter and wait for them to bring it to you. So if it isnt the person that took the order from you its kind like aomone standing in the room with food till you raise your hand its your order.
Ive been to Egg wits many times over the past year, and this place is just a solid 10/10 every time. Great staff, wonderful ambiance, and delicious food you will want to come back for. Perfect spot for a couples brunch or to bring people from out of town.
Looking at the outside of the building it seems the place might be a bit run down but, just like everything else in life, dont judge this place by the cover. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. The people I went with had a few complaints about the chicken being dry however, I got the French Kiss which was delicious. Would rate 4.3 of 5 and do recommend
It was only a 1 star because the coffee was great. Service was horrible. We waited 50 min and never received our food. Many came after us, yet received their food. We accepted our refund and wish them well moving forward
Just so happened to stumble across this place on a visit to Pensacola this weekend and so happy we did! I had a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit with potatoes and my husband had french toast, eggs and bacon. The food was very good and well seasoned. My husband even went back up and ordered an extra side of potatoes after eating some of mine. Service was very quick and with a smile. We will definitely be back when we come back to visit again!
Have been waiting 30 minutes for a simple breakfast. I went up and asked how much longer. They said 5 minutes. Way Overpriced!!!! Second visit. First wasnt impressive either. Wont be back!
I have been to this fine establishment on two occasions, both times for brunch with girlfriends.Service: this is a self serve place once you order your meal. You get your own drinks and cutlery. The staff brings out your food and will also clear your table if you stay so long as we are prone to do! We sat in a booth for 3 hours! We were not urged to leave! Rather we were checked on a few times and left to chat!Meals: Oh how much yummm! I had the “French Kiss” both times which is their special French toast w/ fresh whipped cream with strawberries and blueberries and two strips of bacon. Perfect! The second visit I added Gouda grits because why not! They too were wonderfully made! And enjoyed by the table as it was a huge portion.Value: This was fresh food artfully plated. It was quality. Fresh food cost a little more and is worth it!Staff: Eggcellant! They all seemed to be happy at their jobs and kept the dining room looking sharp for the new people that just kept coming! Enjoy the low toned beautiful Christian music also! Had our Gal Joy humming and singing along!Overall! We give them a very well deserved 5 stars! Keep up the good work Egg Whits!Ps: to the JO of gave these people 1 star? Stay home. They don’t need you, we will be there to sing their praises.
Completely self serve restaurant!!! Not a bad thing but should noted. A little pricey for getting everything yourself. Bill was $17. They ask for a tip up front, not a fan of that. Not a dirty place but leans that way. Tables not bussed, napkins on the floor, etc. Food was good, had the bfast burrito w/ home fries. Coffee left something to be desired but ok. Might come back.?
This place won my heart and the 5 star rating because OMG HOW DELICIOUS. they even had boba ice coffee 😍😍😍😍 the cinnamon rolls were OUT OF THE WORLD! The chicken and waffles are so yummy and the eggs Benedict were amazing and the eggs were so perfect! Would love to come here when i travel again! Very polite and quick staff no wait time! Left very full and happy thank you 🥰
Quaint little self serve breakfast joint. The breakfast panini and chicken and waffles were delicious. I’m particular about my grits and the Gouda grits are on point.
Its an ugly duckling. No curb appeal. However, the enterior is well done and most importantly the food is good.
We were so excited to try this out, the menu looked amazing! The line was pretty long, we ordered our food and they said 30 to 45 minutes eait for food which was not a problem. The food came about 30 minutes later, I ordered the chicken omelette with side salad the salad was great the omelette was so greasy I couldnt eat but a couple bites it was extremely disappointing. The French kiss was good, but definitely would not go again.
If you have not visited this establishment yet, dont wait any longer. I passed by it for months until I finally had the chance to stop. Outstanding food and service. No frills, just good food and great staff to give you what you need.
It was a good little dine in experience.Food was really good.Price was fair.I do have 3 things that they could do better.- the place is very dated and needs an uplifting make over.- The bathroom was really dated and was not pleasant.- The check out process was not good as it was one person taking large orders and preparing drinks. But they did hit it right with the food tasting good.
Great sit down for coffee, breakfast, or brunch. Come with a group, one friend, or even enjoy solo! You can’t go wrong with a cafe au lait and biscuit. Their cinnamon rolls is out of this world!!! Go early to avoid a wait since they do not do reservations ;)
Worst place Ive ever been ! Had me waiting 1 hr and 30 min and order was never ready. Decided to leave and get a refund and couldnt get the full amount I paid. Thats why they charge you first and then serve you, they know theyre unorganized and will have customer waiting and if you leave they still charge you some money for drinks. I only saw 1 guy cleaned tables, 1 more serving and2 persons in the kitchen, the manager and like other 4 girls just standing there by the register basically doing nothing. Food looks good on pictures but service is horrible, not recommended at all.
Tiny portions and expensive but the food was decent. The customer service was horrible and petty. Overall I do not recommend this place.
Meh. It was decent. Nothing to write home about. We prefer CJs and Another Broken Egg. The cinnamon rolls are pretty good though.
Great service! Great workers! The food was amazing! I will definitely come back! Highly recommended!
First time visiting today. Tasted great and seemed to have a lot of fresh locally prepared menu items. The salsa on my breakfast burrito, and the sausage patty on the wife plate tasted fresh made. Great taste, good value when compared to similar local eateries means we will be going back, soon!Second visit, again fast service, good food and we will be regulars as the wife loved her waffle!
Great food. Just dont like how its self serve and youll spend over $30-40 on two people.
Best tasting waffle Ive ever eaten. Fair price, quick service.
A nice breakfast and convenient to all the doctor places nearby. I thought the pricing was just a little bold for the experience, but perhaps I underestimated what we bought.
Good breakfast spot, self service, good menu. The chicken and waffles was good and the staff was very friendly.
This place is the worst. We ordered our food at 11:32. We waited at the table for more than an hour. Asked the manager how long more do we have to wait until our is ready. 5 more people before us. We decided to cancel our order. And instead to give us the full refund they charged us the drinks, and justreturned the money for the food. Not even apologized for the inconvenience.Never come back to this place. 👎👎
This place rocks! and I LOVE the order at the counter, serve yourself format.
Was a huge omelette! Delicious! The grits were awesome too! We will be back👍
Food was great, I ordered a breakfast skillet. Beverages or any type of liquid on the other hand, not so great and definitely overpriced. The hot coffee runs about 2-4$, the iced coffee around 4-5$, which for coffee you can make at home, not so great. The wait is another downside, we had to wait around 50 minutes to get our food; but it was worth it.
We have eaten here several times since they opened and EVERYTIME has been wonderful!! Staff is professional and gets it done!!!! They go above and beyond to make guests happy!
Food & service is great, coffee not so good tho.
Huge delicious portions. Our family of 5 loved this placed. They cooked everything fresh so were able to accommodate my special diet and all the kids little wishes. Incredibly good food. our new favorite local breakfast place for sure.
Came here three days in a row! The presentation of every plate was beautiful (already dug in in the picture). Every savory plate was delicious. My ONLY critique is the granola was stale on the Greek yogurt. The Mighty Belgium waffle and the French kiss were FLUFFY and tasty. The turkey and ham Benedict was cooked perfectly. The croissant sandwiches were delicious. I would come here way too often if I lived close by. If youre visiting definitely come give it try 🥑
Amazing benedict sauce! Perfect! The gouda grits could use a little work but all in all in was quite good and well worth the price!
The food here was amazing, we had great service, everyone had a smile on their face and happily greeted us 10/10 would recommend
The taste of the food was pretty average. The cafeteria process of ordering your food, getting your own drink/utensils/condiments etc. made it feel like I was ordering fastfood. While the prices are not high. When combined with the taste and the experience you walk away feeling you paid to much.
This is a really neat breakfast place. Good menu options, friendly staff. You order at the counter, and then they bring you the fresh food. I had the Canadian Eggs Benedict, and a plain waffle. The Bene is on a biscuit, not an English Muffin. I prefer an English Muffin (it was still good). You also get spinach and a pinch too much, for my taste, paprika. Belgian Waffle was delicious, and my dining companion enjoyed his egg skillet. Will come back.
Visiting from Texas had only been here once before, the waffles are amazing and the service is great! Very friendly and inviting and welcoming atmosphere! Thank you for a wonderful experience! You need to build an Egg Wits in San Antonio Texas!
Food was good and felt fresh. A bit oversalted Benedict. The place is self service, which was unusual for me in a breakfast place, but not a bad thing I guess. The building itself is an OK.
Just had the Breakfast Skillet and it was awesome ! The atmosphere and different take on the whole eating experience was different but very simple and easy ;) ! With the way it’s set up it works very well with the whole situation we are dealing with today . The dish I ordered came with things i didn’t like in it so, I simply asked to have those items removed so it was cooked just the way I liked it !!! The staff was very nice, professional, and accommodating and my food was cooked perfectly!! I would suggest this place to everyone who wants a good quick place to enjoy a GREAT Breakfast!!
Scrambled vurriot was great had it with spinach because I wanted a vegetarian version. Witty breakfast really hit the spot. Iced coffee was a nice cherry on top
I have been to many of the breakfast places around here. Broken egg, the egg and I, etc. but this one has been the best so far. They are a breakfast only place and more of a self service type of restaurant as you place an order and sit down. I ordered an omelette with vegitable filling with a side of grits. My girlfriend ordered a breakfast skillet (a bed of potatoes, sausage bits, peppers, cheese, and an egg on top) and a biscuit and gravy on the side. The food is delicious, pictures of our meal is attached. The biscuit with gravy was huge and home made and only like 5 dollars!!! The skillet and the omelette were both well priced for the food you get. I would not change anything about the food at all as it was well seasoned and cooked properly with what I believe is all fresh ingredients. Their hours are a bit wonky but 2pm closing time for a breakfast only place isnt too bad. I will be back again when I get the time.
Back in 1987, Rayno and Patty Seaser wanted to create a daytime-only restaurant based on the simple premise that what guests really want is delicious food served by friendly people. From humble roots, that restaurant was born and first opened in Fort Collins, Colorado. Inspired by the 1940s American memoir written by Betty MacDonald, they named the restaurant The Egg & I and the rest, as they say, is history. The Egg & I Restaurants have been serving our friends across the nation ever since.Today, our commitment to provide friendly service and delicious breakfast, brunch and lunch remains the same. Whether it’s roasting our vegetables in-house, slicing and juicing the season’s freshest fruit or whipping up our French toast batter from scratch, we take pride in the details that we hope will make your visit memorable. Our coffee is brewed fresh and we make everything to order, so you can have it just the way you like it. It’s our way of saying thank you. So sit back, relax and wake up to something wonderful.
When you get to Florida please make this your first spot the people here are as genuine and welcoming as they come I was greeted with open arms here and was blessed to meet the entire staff... I say all that to say the food is literally to die for 💆♂️ thanks again you guys!!!! Signed - EOD BIZZLE
Use to be my favorite breakfast place but it took them 35 mins to bring me an avocado panini, I didnt feel hungry anymore
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My parents visited today for breakfast. They were instructed to sit where ever they liked and to order at the front when they were ready. They did exactly that, paid for their food, LEFT A TIP (without being served yet) and patiently waited for their food. They waited for over an hour for their food and they NEVER received it. Four other customers who came in placed their orders, and were served within that same hour. My parents approached the 2 ladies at the front, to ask about their order and they both looked at my parents with a dumbfound expression on their faces. They made no attempt to offer an explanation nor a refund, they did however say, ‘have a nice day, come again.’ My parents paid for horrible customer service and food they never received. Waste of time, waste of money. So much for “having a nice day.”
We ordered the following:Avocado panini with potato hash: the basil pesto olive oil was soaked into the bread and tasted exactly like olive oil soaked bread. When I order a panini I expect the bread to be grilled with a nice crust. This bread looked like it was put into a cold panini press resulting in grill press marks, sans actual grilling. The potato hash, which is really just homefries were severely lacking in flavor and crispness.Gouda grits: this was by far the biggest disappointment. The grits were extremely bland, no salt, pepper or butter. The gouda was slapped on top and melted.Chicken and Waffle: the chicken did have a decent flavor to it, however it was fairly scorched. The waffle had a good flavor at first but the more you chewed, the more the flavor became offputting.French Kiss: by far the star of the show, but youre not missing anything and can make french toast at home yourself for 1/3 of the price.Long story short, we all left pretty disappointed in our breakfast experience. The booths were comfortable enough to sit in for the duration of breakfast, and the decor is eclectic and subjective to personal taste. This wouldnt be my first choice, nor a recommendation to anyone I care about.
Not a lot of choices as far as what I like to eat but I had the skillet with a waffle on the side and my sister had an omelet. The skillet was yummy with chicken and potatoes and my sister liked her omelet also. The waffle was good but I forgot to ask for it to be cooked light, other than that it was still good. The environment was elegant even though it was self-service but I really enjoyed it. I would definitely come back.
Really nice spot for good breakfast. I had the burrito and its super good. Great salsa and overall tasty!
Food was good. I had Belgian Waffle with strawberries. My friend had bacon & eggs. All food is cooked to order. It is basically self serve.
