Wow, drove by then decided to stop in and give this place a try and I’m so glad I did. The iced coffee is amazing, great flavor. I got iced pumpkin spice latte with oat milk and three times better than Starbucks. Love the decor great relaxing feel. I will return! Not to mention the service was excellent!
The Drowsy Poet was delightful experience from the moment we walked in. The coffee bean aroma was alluring and we felt welcomed with the very friendly and helpful staff. The Chocolate Cheesecake with a cup of Poe is an amazing combo. If ever in Pensacola again, we will definitely stop by for more delicious coffee and treats. Highly recommending this place, especially for those mornings before PensaCon!
Delicious iced Mocha, fast drive thru. I love the kid drink option. The chocolate chip cookies were not my kind of chocolate chip cookies- they are soft.
Staff is super nice and helpful! The coffee is on point. I had the Milton as a hot latte. Very good flavor with an extra shot of espresso.
I love the coffee and food there. Service great. I was highly disappointed in the new decor. Looks like any other coffee shop now. The old decor made it stand out and much more interesting. Previously would have given 5 stars.☹️
A nifty chain of coffee shops that have anything you may want, at better prices than the competitors. They sell different pastries, assorted hot or cold beverages and they even have a kids menu for drinks! After you fall in love with their selection of coffees, you will probably be back to buy their own coffee brand or their paraphernalia.
First visit... EXCELLENT coffee & delicious cinnamon crunch muffin! Will be back when Im in the area! Wonderful service, too!
Cool people cool atmosphere good drinks (coconut frappe is my fave!) I do my work on my laptop while my son is next door at PCA and I love this spot. I’m looking forward to less AC though… I always feel like a popsicle in there!
So, I visited for the very first time today and the Drowsy Poet staff was absolutely amazing! They were friendly, incredibly nice, and quick with my order. I tried the Milton and it was perfection - exactly what I needed to get through the rest of the day. I highly recommend The Drowsy Poet and will definitely return soon.
Clean, friendly, great service, best cup of coffee in town… I love the POE ‼️
The guys that work here are fantastic. I love that they have cold brew ice cubes for the cold brew. Small thing… but their lids don’t leak which is a big plus.
Really good nitro cold brew, get it with a cube of frozen coffee in it! They even fill growlers with it
Had a new thing I havent had before. Some kind of tea similar to the Chai tea, but sweeter. It was good. I also had a blueberry pastry. I wasnt disappointed.
My poetcchino was not made how I requested, therefore I was not happy with my drink. Service wasn’t great, didn’t like the attitude or vibe I sensed from one of the workers making drinks, cinnamon rolls looked good but taste dry and not soft. Also was not asked if we wanted anything heated up either and no one seemed to want to jump to take our order either or ask if needed help or recommendations.. stood there at the case without getting acknowledged for a couple minutes when walking in.
Too much religious nonsense being forced on customers. I came fir a coffee not to be hounded by a 20 year old about my eternal soul. Solid pass.
Love this place, friendly, clean, great service, and the coffee is delicious! Better than starbucks!
Their bread pudding is sick (the good kind of sick). I had a small drip coffee which . . . wasn’t burned, stale, or horrifying. Overall excellent experience. I’ll be back. No masks in sight —I prefer risky freedom over a secure tyranny. Pay them a visit.
I am not a local here but I was visiting and when I saw their sign I told myself that on our way back we had to make a stop here. Turns out it was a local coffee shop and the environment here was very nice. They showed me their options and everything they had. If I am ever in this area again I will make sure to visit. Their coffee and the dessert I got were delicious!
The warm banana bread and warm toasted bagel with cream cheese tasted good. Mom likes the regular coffee. Tried the Drive thru and got a quick hunger fix while parked and resting across the street.
Its coffee that isnt Starbucks. Its okay, but I dont get the hype around it. They were nice enough. Location is cute. It would be good to see more variety in flavors, but they do a decent chocolate hazelnut latte.
I love the vibe here. Have always had wonderful Breves as well as service!
My.favorite coffee shop. I love their coffee, t their scones and muffins. The atmosphere is soothing too. The best in Pensacola.
Not a single person was wearing a mask, not even staff and it was packed. Im from out of state and was really looking forward to visiting this place, but I cant say I recommend it. Coffee was fine at best, definitely not worth the Covid risk.
Delicious coffee! I got the mocha.
Good coffee good snacks
I wanted to love this place but man are they proud of their coffee.. $4.25 for froth in a cup. Took the lid off the already VERY small cup and found the coffee at the bottom not even HALF way filled up. Not to mention that it wasn’t even hot.. maybe room temperature. Jokes on me this morning.
The coffee ☕ was good. I would go back. Seem like a laid back place
Consistently delicious coffee! My orders have always been correct. Staff is fast, friendly and professional. Store is clean with a cozy environment. Please open a store in the Gulf Breeze Tiger Point area. We desperately need good coffee (and a clean, reliable business to serve it) out here!
I love this place. Usually stop here every AM before work if line isnt terribly long. Nice drive thru staff
I love this place. Its the best place in town to get Coffee. They have the nicest interior and have even served me latte art.
I love their poetchinos. It’s the blended coffees and it’s so smooth, creamy and delicious! A small is $4.25 with tax. Definitely worth it.
Best coffee in Pensacola. Great staff. Don’t miss out on the coffee experience
Good ☕. Nice place to work and use wifi
Always great coffee.better than Starbucks.customer service is fantastic.
Great place, nice staff, lots of coffee options and the best quiche Ive ever had! Several breakfast options for a quick {on the go/got to get to work} stop. I love their *coffee for a cop* program👮♂️👮♀️
Loved it, coffee is fresh, nicely priced. The bake goods are awesome! Had 3 slices of banana loaf myself.Comfortable sitting as well.Always a good choice for a Comfortable setting
Love their muffins and coffee
Great coffee. Really enjoy the atmosphere. Met the owner and he was top notch. Highly recommend people go and visit.
Love the coffee and Chai tea! Great people and great coffee...cant go wrong with D.P.!!!
Coffee and food is good and averaged priced. But not all the drowsy poets have the same policy. Some have a punch card for a free coffee and others dont. Some offer student discount. Some have lunch items. I go all over Pensacola and pace for work and school. Just wish it was consistent.
Great, quick service, staff was helpful towards the customers and it has a nice atmosphere. I went inside and ordered a to-go order.
I have never tried their coffee but I just ordered a toffee mocha poetccino. IT WAS AMAZING! Way better than anything Ive had at Starbucks
I really enjoyed my visit here. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Good selection of drinks/food, and the drink I got was really tasty. I’d love to come back!
This place should also be called the Honest Poet. I stupidly left my laptop here and only noticed a day later. The employees here kept it safe and happily handed it over after I showed my drivers license and unlocked the computer. Thank you so much for your kindness and honesty--and the coffees pretty good too!
Nice little place, came just by accident on the way to Dunkin donuts but it is perfect, very clean and cousy and the staff is nice, the coffee is on point I loved it
I love the theme, and the design of the place. The chai latte I got wasnt bad, but wasnt great either. I was fairly happy with the experience though I would come back.
Stumbled across this place from out of town. Great vibe. All the staff had a smile on their faces. Busy so obviously popular. Coffee was great. Thanks gals and guys.
Hands down the BEST coffee place around. They roast coffee beans on site and have an amazing selection from several countries, both in whole bean and ground, along with tasty pastries, and savory salads and sandwiches. Staff is amazingly friendly, and very efficient. A true Pensacola gem!
Great coffee! Came down to visit family and drove and just had to stop. Great shop, good prices and has just about everything you will ever need.
Great customer service and nice place to chill..
Love the coffee selection. Love the service. Love the sanitization. Tried their Milton and Caramel machiatto, both cold and hot. Made like it was a piece of art and taste really great. Will go back for coffee.
I absolutely loved how quaint and cozy Drowsys was before, but they remodelled and now it is boring and modern. They ruined it.
Very good coffee and a nice environment to relax and do work, especially for students after school. The only downside is limited wifi. The workers and service are always exceptional. I like the caramel poetchinos and the brownies.
I went through the drive through and the staff was friendly and kind. It was my first time there and I had the vanilla latte, and bought the Columbia medium roast coffee. They grounded up the coffee for me. I can’t wait to try it and share it with my mom. Thank you 🙏
Found this place when I first moved to Pensacola 7 years ago and have never had a bad experience. I now drive 15 minutes out of the way to see them a shameful amount of times throughout the week. I try to stay away because the cinnamon rolls are too dang good but then I go on a bender and have one nearly every day for a month. The staff is always great and puts up with my lame one liners at the drive thru 😁
Local roaster - always a good sign.Cool temps inside - makes hot coffee more palatable. Good explanations of specials.Good spot.
I love their coffee and the staff so far are really nice people
Very good coffee. Very friendly, always accurate.
Wonderful staff. I got the ham sandwich and a peach torte, they were both delicious. They have oat milk, which is something Ive never tried before. They were very kind and let me have a small sample before I ordered a drink with it. I ended up getting a chai with the oat milk and it was quite good.Their drinks are all names after famous writers (Keats, Poe, Shakespeare etc) and their tables have pages under the glass. All in all, a fun quirky coffee shop. Good place to hang out, get some work done or catch up with friends.
Consistently pleasant service, some of the best desserts in town, and great mochas. I think the iced coffee is a little weak personally but the rest deserves 5 stars. Also, wonderfully kept atmosphere, clean bathroom, and lots of books to rummage — no worries if you forget to bring your own!
I really do love this place and defiantly recommend stopping by. Delicious coffee and espresso drinks, comforting environment, and the staff are very friendly, warm, and inviting. You really cant go wrong here!
Cool place. I was bummed when I was told customers werent allowed to use the piano. The food and coffee werent really overwhelming either. Having a nice atmosphere is half the battle though so they have that going for them.
Great service. Really went above and beyond in making us feel welcomed and comfortable for our first visit. Very cozy and relaxing on the inside. Just made it better that the coffee was good and the desserts were even better! Thanks to the staff for being so wonderful, a joy to talk to, and for giving our two dogs treats! Definitely going back!
This is such a special place! Coffee - from regular to specialty drinks - is amazing. The staff really knows coffee and couldn’t be more helpful and caring. This is one of those coffee shops where you feel at home and could stay all day!
Best iced mocha in Pensacola fl. Great place!
This little coffee shop is amazing. The theme is just wonderful, and our coffee came out so quickly. I got the signature drink Poe and the raspberry flavor was subtle and perfect. The whole atmosphere is soft and calm and artistic. On the whole, my experience was phenomenal. 10/10 would recommend.
On a beautiful sunny day and you have to be stuck doing work. Look no further. The ambiance is clean and uplifting. The 360 view of the bay and gulf. Nice hidden gem.Half and half latte was delicious!
I am a coffee fiend so I seek out the best coffees (and teas) in my area. I still try other shops as well when I hear of them but at this point I dont believe ill ever find the kind of friendliness and food quality as the poet has provided me with over these many years. I would say the baked goods and quiches are THE BEST in the area in my opinion and the coffees are also second to none. You just gotta see and taste for yourself!!
Drowsy Poet has been a favorite Go To since they opened. The spacious coffee shop has great coffee and delicious deserts. It is comfortable there and a great place for meeting friends and family. Nice people.
Ive driven by this place sooooo many times and finally went in after friends came to town for a visit. I compare it to an old school Starbucks. I LOVE it. The vibe is so much better. Its such a chill place. Great prices. Good ☕.
This place will leave you wondering what you ever saw in the other guys and their Siren song....Ill take the works of Shakespeare over that coffee flavored water every time. BEST fresh roasted coffee, baked goods, salads and sandwiches. I probably frequent this establishment at least twice a week, and its the only place we get our beans for grinding and brewing at home. Try it, you will love it.
Beautiful coffee shop with good selection of coffee and light food. Note the very large coffee bean grinder from another age. Awesome touch.
Im all about the small coffee shops in the area. This one has a couple of locations now, but hasnt lost the feel that its had for years. Youll find a lot of students here from Pensacola Christian College sitting down to work on papers and whatnot. The drinks here are quite good, and they also have a number of very tasty muffins and other desserts. They have two or three drinks on the menu that are tailored for children which I believe are all made with decaffeinated products.
I enjoy the atmosphere and the coffee is the best!Everyone seems to be happy, when I can get a delicious coffee it feels like everybody knows your name kind of place😀
Nice little shop, typical of what one would expect. Nice scones. Croissant sandwiches. Minus two stars for subjecting us to Fox news on the television. Thank God the sound was off. I need my coffee shops to be a refuge from all that garbage. But its next door to Pensacola Christian academy. So theyre probably playing to their local audience.
First time here. We are from portland Oregon. This is a great place! My americano was perfect! And the service was perfect! Was recommended by some locals! We will definitely be back!
Great coffee and unique names. This place is very cute and the people are very kind. I spoke to A man whose names started with E and he was very kind and helpful.
I love the atmosphere. Literary themes, obviously. A player piano near the corner. And their signature drinks are great. I usually go for a Shakespeare (chocolate hazelnut latte) or Poe (chocolate raspberry latte). But their house coffee is great too. They have salads, sandwiches, and pastries, if youre looking for something to eat. I enjoyed everything Ive had here.
I love the atmosphere here and the friendly staff. You can become a regular here and they will remember your order. Starbucks has made their billions so I feel good supporting a local business. Not only that, I get the personal care and comfort that is so often lost in the mega chains.
My wife and I are from New Orleans and love coming to Pensacola. I was looking for coffee that is local and not Starbucks. Happened upon the Poet via Google and I was not disappointed. Great coffee and great service. The atmosphere is very nice as well. I think we found our new coffee place.
The White Mocha Poetchino is amazing! Would come here again for sure!
Cool place, even if it is a bit tricky to get in and out of . . . Coffee was good. Plain Breve Latte was tasty. Nice flavor. Interesting crowd. Didnt have time to stay, but its probably a good place to hang out with friends and enjoy a good cup of coffee.
The atmosphere is perfect for lunch or studying. The drinks are varied and delicious. Owner is personable. Great place to chill for an afternoon.
An amazing selection of brews, especially now with the cold brew. The food selection is delicious from the crossiants, salads and desserts. Such a welcoming environment. Always decorated for the season.Occasional live music and always providing a comfortable atmosphere.
Friendly service, cozy atmosphere, and great coffee.
Quality locally roasted coffee, friendly staff, and an atmosphere not unlike Cheers for those who come around regularly.Their signature drinks are great (I prefer the Milton) and their cold brew is nice in the summer months. The owner and baristas know their stuff, so as I learn of new drinks, they can usually prepare them even behind their menu offerings.I love local businesses and this is one Im extremely dedicated to supporting. My weekend isnt complete without spending a few hours at the Poet.
Me and my friend went in here for the first time last week and we both agree the coffee is really good here! Definitely worth a visit. They have cute Shakespeare merchandise also! I will definitely be going back here more often. Im disappointed I waited so long to go here!
A hidden gem in Pensacola. Much better than the national chains. A favorite of the locals. You always get the same, consistent coffee that you have requested. They also offer a good selection of pastries and snacks..
Very friendly and hardworking staff. Be sure to tip them well. Dark inside like a bar, but with very good atmosphere. My only issue is that the specialized drinks are much too sweet and the coffee is kind of watery.
Love their coffee and it has a great atmosphere. Really enjoy their standup comedians that they have occasionally too .
