Great charter boat! Did a two tank dive with them, and it was a great experience. They even made us hot dogs and homemade ice cream on the boat. By far the best charter boat I have been on. I will come back again.

Captain Gene, his wife Cathy, and deck hand Chris provided an exemplary service while taking the group on board several miles out. The trip out was easy, and it was not rough. The dive down had a guideline provided by deck hand, and allowed for a smooth descent and ascent. Their hospitality after the first dive included food and drink (hotdogs fruits water and ice cream.)Chris was looking out for all the divers, and helped prevent potential safety issues those less experienced, and really helped me understand how to be much safer while diving.The trip back was equally as smooth despite rougher conditions going in, and the experience overall was a great one.

Went in for air fills. Good shop, good people. Great local knowledge. Will definitely go back if Im in the area again.

I would never repeat a trip with the Scuba Shack.I talked with Eileen and then Gene about a dive trip. I explained several times that I was diving with my son and daughter and that we were inexperienced and were looking for a dive master on board that could assist us. Both assured me that we would have adequate assistance and that they could accommodate our group of six - three divers and three non-divers. I paid $700 total for our group.When we arrived, I was surprised to find out that we would be with a class that was making its certification dives. The boat was so full that we could not place our second tank in the rack-it had to be stored on the floor of the cabin. When it was time to dive, we did not even have enough room to do our safety check on each others gear.My son got in the water first, then me. We dive as a group of three, but my daughter was not even in the water before Gene starts yelling at my son to descend. I have to grab him and pull him back up and wait for may daughter, all the while Gene is yelling at us to descend because we are holding up his divers. When diving with my two children, safety is my number one concern, and we always do a short safety huddle after getting in the water and before descending, and I was very up front about us being inexperienced divers.Then after we descended, Gene had to complain about us to all of his students. Did he not know that our three non-divers were there listening? Then when we made our second dive he felt the need to criticize us again to his students. We paid a lot of money for this trip and received very poor service and in my opinion a total disregard for the safety of our dive party.

Great Staff in the shop and Great Crew on the Wet Dream. CAPT Gene does a mean hot dog on the grill for your Surface Interval, Ms Cathy makes homemade cookies and hand cranked Ice Cream on board. And Chris is a Fantastic Instructor/Dive Master/Dive Guide

Thank you for a great day of diving. We enjoyed all on the boat.I along with Brandon & Michael had a tremendous time. I apologize I got sick multiple times but I would do it all over again for the sites I saw. I had a great experience for my first salt water dive. You will see me again next year if not sooner.

Have been doing business with the Scuba Shack since the mid 90s and have always had a great experience. All sorts of neat items on their history wall and a good selection of new gear. Prices are in line with all of the other shops in town. Great location and a excellent dive boat also.

I just wanted to send Scuba Shack a thank you note for the dive trip to the Oriskany on Saturday. I got off to a rough start, but everyone was so helpful and I neded up having a great time.Special thanks to Gene, Mike, Debbie, and Gary for making sure I had somebody watching out for me. This was very different than the last charter boat I went on several years ago in Gulf Shores where they did nothing more than just take us out to the dive site.As I was telling my family about how organized and safe my trip was, my wife and dad are now interested in going on a trip.I cannot wait until the next time I am able to go.Thanks!

We dived with Scuba Shack this past weekend (10/6/12) and had an excellent dive. I was referred to them through a friend and dive store owner whose opinion I rate highly and was pleased they did so.We were somewhat spoilt by the fact that there were only 5 divers and a couple of non-divers on the Wet Dream which can accommodate about 18-20 divers normally so space was not an issue.Despite the lack of divers the crew did not cut any corners on hospitality. They had brought homemade cookies which was good as I had brought two 14 year old girls. The cookies had no chance. Between dives there were bowls of fresh fruit and then they got the grill out for hot dogs. This was excellent as we got about a 2 hour surface interval. There was also homemade Ice Cream for the trip back.We dived 2 inshore dives largely because of the 5 divers 2 were Juniors and could not dive the deeper offshore wrecks. Again this worked to everyones advantage.The diving was safe and well organized. The crew video the whole day and dives and make a DVD available for purchase which can be mailed to you afterwards.I did compare the dive prices to other shops and this was $4 more than the other I looked at. That is negligible in my books when I had a personal recommendation to go with it. I will dive with Scuba Shack again and would recommend them to anybody. We had a great day out.

They are salesmen nothing more. Somewhere I would never recommend for a new diver . SSI training is a scam to get your money and they happily facilitate that cause!

When we arrived at the pier there was a complementary pizza from Georgios waiting for us. The owners allowed us to store our equipment in their gear room so we didnt have too schlep it back to the car.
