Perfect location for Indian spices for people living in city but not everything is super fresh :(
Love the store. It offers diverse brands of groceries for reasonable prices. The owners are always helpful and friendly.
Counter lady is very friendly, quick n helping. Though did not get 2/3 items what I needed but thats alright and I would like to mention I like fresh food like mix vegetable a lot. I get it every single time I visit.
A must stop and shop if looking for Indian, African, and Middle Eastern food, drinks, and spices. They offer a diverse selection of fresh, frozen, and dried staples. The staff is kind. The entrance is accessible. There is store-front parking on site.I cannot wait to return 😍🤤
The lady discriminates againsts customers using snap. She made my friend feel bad and also caused undue attention on her and made us feel like we were a burden for using the ebt money.Edit:Yeah we said we will return the hot prepared item as we werent carrying cash/ alternate payment and she still kept asking. There is a respectful way of communicating things and her demeanour changed when she knew we were paying with snapThere is something called micro aggressions. please look into it. if Im writing a review about it there must be at least something negative that we felt . if you dont like snap customers dont accept snap. There are other reviews on your page about this too so try to take some accountability.
Here you get fresh cooked, delicious vegetarian & other select dishes. Also shop & buy Eastern world products for your meals with Bollywood feel.
Best Indian store in the area. Friendly folks amd decent assortment.
I love this store and have not found their prices to be too high at all
Honestly, this Indian grocery store is amazing! I travel far only for the freshly made samosas and from finding everything I need to always being organizingly shelved every time I go. I highly recommend going to this Indian grocery store if ever have the opportuinity to!
My boyfriend and I always shop here for our Indian food needs. The staff are always friendly and the store always has the ingredients we need!
Good selection. The takeout is good and cheap.
Quite expensive but has everything! Good owners.
Learned about Dawalli there.
My favorite market for exotic and international spices
You can get almost every indian basic grocery here.
I have been here multiple times, but their prices are very high, as they know there are no Indian grocery stores near Philly downtown, they are probably price gauging as well, Now I go to Patel brothers in Bensalem, they have better quality and variety
Great selection of Indian groceries as fell as a few Ethiopian items.
Good selection of foreign snacks and frozen food, deli food is good too!
I went to this grocery recently and have only been there the one time. It seems to be well stocked given the lesser amount of space they have. There wasnt much fresh produce as compared to other Indian grocery stores Ive been to. I was disappointed though when I went to check out and they didnt take American Express. This can be common with smaller retailers I know, but I am familiar with many businesses that are much smaller and take Amex. All the other Indian grocers I go to take Amex. This just came off as a bit cheap.
Quite well-organized and well-stocked. A good option for those interested in South Asian products plus they also have a decent collection of Middle Eastern ones.
Very nice place, found all groceries that needed
Wide selection of quality foods, just wish theyd accept more payment methods
It is a nice small store for spices and Indian foods. They also have some Arabic foods too. Limited fresh veg though. It is the best one in the area and even has a small parking lot. Only wish the store is biggerEdit: the woman who works here is very rude. Treated me as if I am an employee by telling me to put the items back I did not want to purchase. She said it several times and emphasised “in the right place” as if I’m her employee. The EBT machine was not working she said but I did not see the small sign on the door that’s why I couldn’t purchase all the stuff I had in my cart. She also said several times I could pay another way. Well, I want to use my EBT and I don’t need to be treated like a second class citizen. Me using EBT pays them the same as cash, so she should drop her attitude. I’m certain most people who shop here use EBT so she should be thanking us for keeping them in business. I won’t be back here again! Would rather give my business to shop owners who are polite and not judgemental. A shame too because I spent quite a bit of money here over the years and to be treated like trash was a shock.
Limited supply range, especially of fresh fruits and veggies; okay for emergency purchases and snacks.
I got a bag of Kashmiri chilies here that was moldy on the inside 🤮
Great selection, good prices, and very friendly and helpful staff! 10/10 would recommend.
It is indian and Pakistani store. I went there for buy teff and I bought it. They have lots of spices, rice and beans.. it looks like small grocery. Good service too.
This place is the best! Can get everything I need (and more!) to cook a delicious Indian meal. Id give it a 6th star if I could.
Great selection and prices!
They are stocked with so many options and very pleasant too!!!
Minus 3 stars because the cashiers (who seem to be the owners or at least, related to owners) never wear masks despite having them around their necks. Meanwhile the aisle stockers do a great job wearing them the whole time.Pity because this is a very well stocked store.
Great selection, its like a trip to India - in Philadelphia.
My favorite grocery in Philly. Dont forget to grab some pakora at the till!
This place has all possible collection of flat breads (roti and naan), rice and other basic indian spices and pickles.
Good choice of groceries & ready to eat meals suiting residents from Indian subcontinent. Neatly stacked items dont miss ones view.
There are variety of desi food items and few vegetables as well. Same product in different is definitely good as you get to choose.
Larger than it looks. Great selection of Indian food and spices at affordable prices!
Perfect place to get all things Indian.
Higher prices for most of the things.
Huge selection of indian and pakistani meals, spices and cultural items at good prices! I picked up groceries, snacks and instant meals to last me for at least a month, and all of it has been very flavorful and good quality. Its a bit crowded inside but pretty easy to social distance still.
I have been shopping here for almost 15 years, they offer an excellent selection of Indian goods and homemade samosas are my treat when I visit.
Good. They have edible chalk! Cameroon/ ivory coast and ghana.
The best place to find quality bulk spices for cheap
Amazing large-volume spices, yogurt, rice, and all the Indian but also Serbian food your heart desires. Their $1 veggie samosas are also delicious and not to be missed.
The best store for spices, teas, frozen foods, fresh food, or anything really. Also just the sweetest and most helpful staff ever❤️
Spices outside of the bare minimum ( salt, garlic, etc.) are often scarce / small containers for $$$ at most grocers now, but this place has a great selection of stuff in bulk & at really reasonable prices. also, the warm samosas behind the counter have the most perfectly flaky outside and are so so tasty - so def get a couple to go.
Great one stop location to buy all Indian groceries. The place is highly organized and clean. The people working there are also very kind and helpful and it is always easy to navigate your way around the place. The only problem however is that they dont stock a few things such as certain frozen foods which I would prefer to eat for days when I dont feel like cooking.
Our go to Indian grocery place. Has a great collection of south Asian grocery supplies, frozen foods. Although they do not accept discover and Amex cards, which is slightly inconvenient.Their ready-made food collection is also good, specially the sheik kabab and chicken curry.
The best place to get Indian or Pakistani groceries in the area. Has almost everything that you might want. Prices are clearly marked in appropriate places for most items which is a rarity for most stores of this kind in the US.Prices are also on the lower side when compared to Dana Mandi.
I had never gone to this particular store before..but I went in checked out many of the items sold there and was very impressed..rare and unique blends of packaged foods, spicy and mild..all new pasta and meats..I would definitely return again..love new delicacies.
Good store, friendly ambience
Clean and well organized grocery store where you can find all the necessary Indian spices, snacks, frozen food items and other food products. But, I must say, very less variety of fresh vegetables. I often go here because it is one of the reliable option for Indian grocery in the university City area.* They do have a limited parking space.* I find it a bit expensive when compared to similar Indian grocery stores.* I have seen few expired food products in the isles, so just be careful and check the expiration date for all the products before you buy.
Nice chic to modern atmosphere for a South Indian restaurant. I had International Foods & Spices special/ main/ original International Foods & Spices, which is the International Foods & Spices masala. It was nice.Be sure to prepare your stomach for the wait at the line. I would say on a Thursday to Saturday night, plan on waiting for 30-40 minutes. And this place doesnt take reservations.Have fun.
Great store, anywhere you look you can find something unique
I feel its expensive and I have encountered good sold even after the expiration date. I refrain going there unless Needed and ensure to check the expiration.
We came to Philadelphia two weeks back we got everything we need. They have all Indian grains and spices, vegetables...
Good Indian store in University City
Great place! Always find all the Indian groceries that I need and usually a bit more... The samosas are delicious!
Good but expensive. The same items were more expensive here!
One of the decent Indian grocery stores closest to where I live. They pretty much have everything youll need. Very clean and organized. If anything is unavailable, you can tell them and then call to check if it has been restocked.I knocked one star off because they dont track and take the expired products off the shelves often enough. So please check for expiration dates before you buy stuff here and inform a staff if something is past the date.
Good place to get all Indian spices and groceries
Very nice selection of indian and Arabic spices
They have everything! Spices, produce, and some of the best home made samosas just to name a few... We drove an hour for these samosas and they did not disappoint.
Prices are reasonable, cheap frozen curries, and hot Indian food as well. My wife likes the hot samosas.
Good selection of Indian groceries, snacks, spices and food. They make tasty samosas too! 😇
Almonds were soggy, bread was not fresh, food taste is also average.I bought Laddos and the taste was not good at all, they smell like oil
Love the variety of Indian food products here!!!
Good place to find almost all the Desi spices and groceries. The owners and/or store keepers inviting and friendly.Although I am not a fan of the curries they sale, I do time to time buy them.
This place serves a great selection of Indian foods as well as serves hot pre prepared food. Samosas and kebabs are served hot and ready for purchase.
The best samosa in Philly. Theyve been operating from this location for centuries. Very awesome family!
I prefer it over any other store. Well stocked and great service
Great service, good selections, reasonable price, parking available
Good place to get spices and good rice quality in a reasonable price
Decent selection, decent prices, decent service. Not perfect, but good.
Went to get a seasoning I couldnt find. They had it! It was close to my house and they had all the other ingredients I needed as well. Next time I know. Cashier was very pleasant. I got there right before it go busy. Very limited parking. Three to five parking spaces. The place was clean and the items were organized and clearly price marked. They take credit and debit cards with a 6 dollar minimum purchase or a 50 cent charge. I Will be visiting again.
This store has a great all-ready-made food station with chicken, rice, chickpeas, lentils, and more, that they serve for you. The all-ready-made food is cold, so you have the option of having them heat it up for you in their microwave or taking it cold and heating it up at home yourself. Great samosas too!
They have a lot of different spices if you want to make Indian food. Some other Asian fare as well. They have some prepared food if you want to give it a try.
Quaint, well stocked South Asian grocery and culinary supply store. Has been a frequent stop for nearly twenty years. Now has a small hot food buffet take-out.
Good stuff, decent prices, great staff, convenient location, with parking spots!
Great selection of international food, including hot meals for takeout. Mostly South Asian? Theres off Street parking, but sometimes it gets stacked up.
Lentils for daysss. Cardamom too 😋
Great center City place to get everything you need. Clean and they also have fresh food. Only 3-4 parking spots however which is the only negative.
Loved this place for years. Best little market for your East Asian foods and spices. Always well stocked. Theres also tasty prepared foods available for a good price.
Good
If you want to buy indian staples like Rice, any kind of dal(toor, masoor, urad, moong) along with all kind of Indian spices, please visit this place. One point to note, please have cash as they dont entertain Amex
Very good selection of ethnic Indian and some Mediterranean ingredients. Big selection of large rice bags. A small produce section and very good and reasonably priced spice section. Some prepared food in the front, I love their Samosas.
I lived in Punjab, India for a while and am always looking for stores that can provide access to the spices, ingredients, and flavors I miss from there. This is by far the cleanest and most well-stocked South Asian grocery store I have found since I moved to the Philadelphia Metro. It also helps that the Mrs. of the family that owns the store sells Mary Kay products and will let you order by mail and let you pick up the product in the store at your convenience.
Great place to get bulk spices and various foods that are difficult to find elsewhere. I venture to this store when Im in need of spices for Indian cooking
They store all spices and food stuff one needs to cook South Asian food. The Also take away along with fritters and samosas. Their produce section is really good and they also have a well stocked meat section serving halal meat on the bone and boneless.
Love this place. The name says it all. This is our go-to for all of our non-western culinary needs.
Excellent products.. am from gulf and most of my country products are in the shop.. well organized and better than the surrounded markets
This is a great place to find most of South Asian spices and food. It is affordable, has a great diversity and isnt overwhelmingly big. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have some fresh produce, but it is very limited. For everyday use, you can find different kind of spices, flours, oils and premade masalas. Their frozen food aisle, has some great collection of everyday use and party foods. They dont keep kitchen utensils though.
Great place for spices, groceries, pulses, rice, flours etc from the Indian subcontinent.
You will definitely like the place in terms of collection UNTILL.. you..- accidently pick expired item-bring some of the spoiled items to your home-realize that there are bugs in the item you purchased-RUDE BEHAVIOUR OF THE STAFF IF YOU TELL THEM THAT THEY ARE SELLING SPOILED ITEMSI WILL DEFINITELY AVOID THIS STORE.
Love the frozen asmali, basmati bags, and el Kourah oil!
