The chocolate itself is not my favorite as far as taste (I am pretty picky for good dark chocolate), but it is absolutely beautifully painted and the fillings are delicious. I highly recommend the passion fruit and the cherry pistachio! The cherry pistachio actually has two separate fillings: A cherry jam and a pistachio ganache. So delicious! I also really liked the strawberry balsamic! The mint chocolate chip I could’ve done without, and the blueberry lavender didn’t really taste like blueberries or lavender to me.
Updated: we ordered 3 gifts and the other two arrived with fast shipping in great condition. They were huge hits. We loved the illustrations with the beautiful chocolates. We will likely order again in the future. We just wish we had the hindsight to order my mom’s with ice!—we will next time (and would reorder her mother’s days gift if they weren’t sold out)It was such a bummer that when my mom’s Mother’s Day gift was delivered all the chocolates were melted. Highly recommend choosing shipping with the optional ice pack to avoid this experience.
I have to agree with Moen’s review of the banana bread. The bread we purchased for $8 at the farmers’ market this morning is dry, and has absolutely no banana flavor. In fact it has an off-putting aroma and taste.
I love this place! The main attraction are the bonbons but they also make other baked goods e.g. cookies, scones, chocolate bars. The bonbons are beautifully hand painted and they taste as good as they look. One of my favorite bonbons is the Thai Tea, but they are all fantastic flavors. Im also in love with their cherry chocolate scone. The bonbons are a bit pricey at $3 a piece but I think its worth it. If youre visiting South st this place is a must visit!
As a self-proclaimed scone aficionado, these (currant) scones were some of the best. Delicious chocolate chip cookies as well. Would recommend!
The bakes goods here are okay, they are pretty pricey for what you get. The service is the opposite of lovely and isnt that great. They gave me a different cookie than what I asked for. The best thing about this place is that its cute. But I would go to other bakeries in the area before coming back here.
The banana bread should probably be renamed sugar bread. I taste zero banana. Only sugar. This is after scraping off the top layer that is just grains of sugar. Can not finish.
Excellent customer service and delicious treats.
We got 20 macaroons and an assortment of bon bons. The macaroons are kept frozen so you cant eat them right away but once dethawed they were phenomenal. Soft texture with a sweet middle cream.Im giving this place four stars because they are supposed to be known for their bon bons and we didnt care for them. Idk. The flavors just werent great and the chocolate shell didnt have much flavor.
My wife had a Dr appointment at 925 Chestnut st Philadelphia yesterday and you had a table set up outside. We purchased 3 scones and they were absolutely the best we ever had including traveling to Italy, Ireland all over the place. We live 50 miles from this bakery and we will come just for the scones!!!great job!
Absolutely love this place! Used to treat myself to their chocolate cherry scone when they had a table outside Jefferson on Thursday afternoons at the farmers market, now I am addicted to the raspberry-pistachio chocolate bark!
Staff is rude. The place is dirty. And scones burned and no taste.Save your money and avoid the place. One star is already too much.It is a shame to keep this cafe open when you see other real good places in Philly closed because of PandemicDo not believe the good reviews here. They are fake.
I really loved this place *found them at the farmers market* placed two online orders which you have to wait a full 24 hours for which is absurd to me considering it’s only scones.left specific notes on order. Went to pick up my order the following day scones were burnt and hard. Didn’t complain went again. Same outcome. Staff is rude. In these hard times of a global pandemic you’d think that businesses wouldn’t have a problem accommodating their “customers”. Instead auroral grace complicates things! They won’t even answer their phones when you try contacting them! How hard is it to make scones the day of! Or why aren’t there already scones made? I’d never support this business again!
Beautiful beautiful beautiful chocolates and macaroons. And they’re delicious, too. The owner was closing And when I asked if they were still open and she invited me in and spent almost 20 minutes talking to me about the chocolates and the store and the macaroons. She was lovely, informative and kind. the store is beautiful and I will absolutely go back.
Beautiful little sweet shop!! Scones, cupcakes ( oh the passion fruit one), bonbons, zucchini bread and now, gelato too. They also make special order cakes. I ordered Black Forest cake and it turned out to be better then the ones we ate in Germany and Switzerland!!The owner is sweet, hard working and super talented. This place is a gem and we are lucky to have it in our neighborhood!
Erin was so helpful/friendly/awesome! I am huge fan of Aurora Graces work and since I became aware of her chocolates several years ago, I go nowhere else. And, the scones are epic! Be sure to visit their physical location as well as farmer market stands.. #loveit
We stopped on a whim to pick up a gift for a neighbor who raved about the chocolates and they did not disappoint. We ended picking a few additional chocolates to enjoy ourselves and they were all amazing. Great selection and fantastic customer service.
I love Aurora Graces banana and pumpkin chocolate chip bread so much. I look forward to every Thursday when they are at the farmers market outside of my office! Olivia is always so helpful when I want to try new things, too. Already looking forward to this Thursday!!!
These chocolates were a huge hit as a gift. Beautiful and delicious! Arrived on time and in great condition when shipped out of state.
This shop, that is the chocolates... amazing! I have given boxes of chocolates as a gift and theyve always been a hit! The box of 15 with 3 birthday cakes as the middle is seriously the perfect gift! Do not miss the strawberry balsamic or maple caramel olive oil if available when youre there or shopping online.
Gorgeous little shop and super helpful with my VERY last minute holiday shopping! The salted honey tahini was my absolute favorite. Highly recommend for gifts or a special occasion treat!
Absolutely ADORE this place! The chocolates are beautiful and delicious and make amazing gifts. My dad was hospitalized at Penn and we brought him these chocolates often throughout his stay and they lifted his spirits immediately! We will be gifting the hospital a big basket of Aurora Grace goodies because they all loved the chocolates, too. The brick and mortar shop is super cute and everyone there is so friendly! Pro tip: if you go in for a box of the bonbons definitely get one extra to eat on your way out. (Trust me, youll thank me later!)
Aurora is our favorite chocolatier in Philly. The chocolates are not only amazing and creative in flavor, but also beautiful - like little art pieces. We have sent her creations as gifts all across the country, and always received very impressed phone calls and photos of enjoyment...The coffee shop itself is also cute and has a great atmosphere, and seeing (and smelling!) the chocolate making is always a bonus.
I bought these chocolates as a gift because they make the most beautiful gift but of course I had to try some for myself. They are so delicious but almost too beautiful to eat. I wish you all the success.
I had the pleasure of experiencing Aurora Grace at the Farmers Market at Christ Church in Old City. I purchased the berry & peach breakfast bar - SIMPLY DELICIOUS! I am hooked, having fell in love instantly. Check them out, every Wednesday from 2-7pm at the farmers market up until the end October, you wont be sorry!
This place is pure gold! I give there chocolates as birthday gifts to my all my friends and they are always a hit! Would 100% recommend this adorable shop!
Aurora Grace has the best oatmeal raisin cookies Ive ever had anywhere. They also have very moist and not overly sweet cupcakes. The lemon poppy seeds with passionfruit curd was really good! And of course, their bonbons are pretty and delicious!
My newest addiction. Experience chocolate on another level. Her creativity and unique chocolate combinations are heavenly. Perfect for gifts or a special treat
Ran into their stand at the farmers market. They offer lots of sweet treats and their candles are heavenly ! A nice spot to grab some goodies before I head back to my home state. 😊
They have the best chocolate! Super tasty, super creative, very unique, just absolutely beautiful. Make sure to try their macarons! They are soo good!
The best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had. The chocolates are also beautiful and make for a wonderful present. They come to the farmers market on Chestnut on thursdays and Olivia was so helpful with deciding which cookies to get.
So many choices -- and all delicious! In particular, I LOVE the chocolates. I met Kathleen at the Rittenhouse Farmers Market and she was so helpful picking out an assortment as a last minute gift for a friend! Definitely check out Aurora Grace Chocolates!
Amazing chocolates! Josh was super helpful with lots of great suggestions. Plan to come back whenever we are in philly!
We visit aurora grace weekly at the Jefferson farmers market! My favorite is either the double chocolate cookies or the chocolate chip pumpkin bread. Shoutout to Olivia for always being helpful!
Wonderful! They even delivered my order to West Philly outside of hours as a gift to someone.
Weve been enjoying the wonderfulness of Aurora Grace since the day Aurora opened her lovely store in Queen Village. The hand-painted chocolates, the macarons, the scones....all delicious as well as beautiful. The staff is lovely too - friendly and professional, taking a real pride in what they do and what they sell. You owe it to yourself to go to Aurora Grace.
The chocolates are beautiful, but their other baked goods are not to be missed! They have the absolute best cookie (Chai Chocolate Chip) that Ive had in Philly!
Aurora Grace chocolates has become my go-to place for chocolate gifts for friends and family. Until now I’ve never found a local place where the chocolates are just as beautiful as they are delicious (or vice versa) but Aurora Grace is that place. The bon bons are absolutely gorgeous as well as incredibly good. I really love this place, and if you are my friend/husband/kids please buy all future gifts for me here.
The bon bons are a work of art! Absolutely beautiful! And so delicious! I buy them weekly and share the sweets with family & friends. They are great gifts as well. Thanks Aurora for your lovely tasty creations!!!
5 stars, no need to say more.Thank you so much!
Aurora Grace Chocolates is seriously the best chocolate bonbons and macaron in the city. Aurora herself is super friendly and always has a smile. You have to try her cookies they are huge and delicious and just everything. They have scones, tons and tons of macarons and bonbon in all different flavors. My all-time favorite though has to be her granola and special chocolate bars with raspberry. You cant miss stopping by and grabbing something on the go.
Working with Josh at markets has been such a pleasure! I LOVE the breakfast bars!
Our favorite is their granola. We’ve already had three large bags in this month... The best granola I had in my life.
We love this place.! The staff are friendly and the chocolates are delicious! This is our go-to place for gifts to family, friends and co-workers.
These chocolates are as delicious as they are beautiful, and thats saying something, because they are stunning! The perfect hostess gift, or birthday gift, or just because it’s Tuesday gift. The macarons are also delicious. And the savory galettes, too! Everything is amazing.
Chocolates are amazing! Really great flavor combinations and stunning designs! Highly recommended!
Incredible chocolates and baked goods. The scones are lovely. The bonbons have great flavors and look awesome.
Beautiful chocolates. I keep coming back for more. The macarons are delicious too!
Had the Crème Brûlée chocolate and it’s absolutely delicious. Deanna was super helpful with recommendations and each treat is beautifully crafted. A fun experience!
Aurora Grace opening this shop has been the most wonderful thing This is where I now buy a of my hostess & thank you gifts, order cakes for occasions, enjoy a Saturday morning coffee & macron, and direct people to who are seeking something beautiful, unique, and special Just thrilled with this shop, staff, and chocolate!
Aurora Grace is fantastic. The best boutique bakery in Philadelphia!- The Goodman Family
Olivia rocks. Makes you feel welcomed and made me wanna Buy those cookiessss
I love Aurora and her boyfriend. They make the best chocolate chip cookies ever! They were also kind enough to make a birthday cake for my 30th. Go here or visit them at the Rittenhouse Farmers market!
The bon bons at Aurora Grace are outstanding albeit a little on the costly side. But they make excellent gifts and are worth the splurge. Service is always pleasant. Hope this is a fixture on 5th Street that remains!
Best chocolate in Philadelphia hands down. We should definitely do a chocolate inspired beer collaboration!
Besides the bon bons (beautiful, exoensive, worth it), they have a small selection of excellent pastries. In particular, the cookies will surprise you - better than Famous cookies!Attractive and relaxing space too. Service is friendly!
Josh talked me into trying macaroons!! They were sooooooo good!!!! Such a lovely guy!
Aurora Grace Chocolates - named after the owner - opened last year in our neighborhood and all my friends from out of town were jealous. They new the name - originally Aurora did only mail order (still does), but now they have some baked goods and scones and coffee (La Colombe). Last week the sign went up that they now make gelato. Well, I couldnt wait to try it. and so I did two days ago.The cup with Peanut Butter Cup flavor was superb - and reasonably priced at $3.00 ($4.50 for 2 dips). There was a long list of flavors listed but they only had 3 the day I was there (the others were vanilla and Cherry). When the gelato this good is the same price (or less) than the corporate Hagaan Daaz shop two blocks away, the answer is obvious - Auroras hands down.
My favorite part of this store is that my review was removed. Awful service (absolutely rude and pretentious individuals) both at the Rittenhouse market and when I returned to the store. The need to remove an original review regarding making up prices (ignoring what was listed) + a staff member sassily saying “I wouldn’t know I’m not a lawyer” and sneering as a response to “it seems you should honor the prices listed”... is a reflection of the company’s lack of accountability and integrity. Disappointing, as I originally had recommended this shop to many people.
The cookies are my absolute favorite!! The cherry chocolate chip scones are phenomenal as well. Yummmm!!!
Very helpful and great customer service!
Beautiful chocolates and treats! An obvious 5 stars!
Friendly and helpful staff and absolutely delicious chocolates and macaroons!
Very tasty baking goods
They give me bad service and the bread it Ard not going to lie about that, but I hope they can get something right 🥴
Gorgeous sweets, friendly staff
Beautiful
