Was visiting Philly from DC and had the opportunity to stop into this place. Best coffee Ive ever had in my entire life. I think I actually got a latte, either way, it was amazing. Plus the staff and neighborhood folks were warm, welcoming, and helpful. Thank you!
The spicy chai latte with oat milk is one of my favorite fall drinks. They are consistent with the foaming of the milk and flavor of the chai (which is housemade). They also have a few pastries and granola bars. You can order in the coffee shop or on Ritual for pick-up. Baristas are friendly and helpful. There are a few seats inside the café if you wish to stay and enjoy your drink but not many.
Somebody said best coffee in there life, they must have never had good coffee. I really wanted to give this place more stars so I kept going back to see if my experience would get better, unfortunately it never did. The coffee taste like dirt mixed with water, I’ve tried a few diff types and it never gets better. The establishment is old and antique like but very dreary and smells so like a moldy basement.
Wow. Just when I thought I knew what great coffee was. I walked in here on Friday morning before my stroll around the museum. The line moved pretty quickly and before I decided between my ice cappuccino or a latte I was warmly welcomed by the gentleman behind the counter. He could tell I was stalling and while more people were walking in behind me I just ordered off the menu and made it simple. I said I wanted an latte and add chocolate. The guy kindly informed me that what I was thinking about was just called a mocha. This was the best F’n mocha I’ve ever had and tipped him the twenty dollar bill I found earlier on my walk to get coffee before my museum stroll. He was so nice and totally hot. I sat on the WiFi for about five hours sipping the worlds best coffee and skipped the museum stroll and just laughed and joked with this tall, dark, and handsome barista until he closed. We parted ways and I’m looking forward to my next Mocha.
Great atmosphere, good options and prices. Seasonal drinks are great!
Terrible experience—shocked by the barista’s rude and aggressive service. I went in yesterday to grab a cup of coffee and ordered my iced latte with less milk. Some coffee shops in Philly calls it iced cappuccino and others get confused when I order iced cappuccino so I just asked for less milk. The barista told me he doesn’t get what I mean by less milk in an extremely rude way. He then aggressively made coffee, so obviously frustrated and mumbling how he doesn’t get what I’m saying at all. He gave me my coffee and told me “that’s called cappuccino.” I’m honestly shocked by the service I got for getting my coffee menu wrong—which was totally fine at other coffee shops and I tried to explain to him what I want respectfully. He was beyond rude and aggressive. I understand that it is a stressful time but don’t take it on customers or strangers. It doesn’t hurt to be decent. I used to really like this place, but I don’t think I’ll ever go back again.
Quality croissants and coffee. Awkwardly rude staff, and not just in the sometimes well-deserved too-cool-for-school barista kinda of way. Cafe was empty and I asked if I could stand at an unused counter more than five feet away from the checkout. This space was not blocking anything and not awkwardly close to staff. I asked because the sun was shining on counter near window and the only other table was occupied. My request was met with a hard “no”. I’m fine taking “no” for an answer, even if there’s no rhyme or reason for it, but the ATTITUDE that came with the response and interaction was as if I committed a crime against humanity. There are tons of other great local coffee places in this city with quality people to engage with that I’d much rather support.
Regular coffee shop serving the usual selection of croissants and breakfast pastries and really good cappuccino $3.75. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the service. The baristas were completely engrossed in a conversation that they completely forgot about the cappuccino I had ordered. I had to remind them about it 5 minutes later. In the meantime 3 other orders got filled in, so I had to wait another 5 minutes before finally getting my cappuccino. Quite honestly, I came here after reading all the good reviews, however Philly is getting saturated with similar equally good coffee shops - that slow service is very hard to overlook.
We were wandering around the museums one day with some friends who were visiting from out of town. It got to be that early afternoon time when I could use a little kick and we saw that this coffee shop was open and a few blocks away.So its a relatively small shop, but I think we were there during an in-between time because it wasnt too crowded. On the upside, with it being later in the day, baked goods were marked down! I got a chocolate croissant. For my drink I went with something a little more unique... I believe it was a maple latte (dont remember the exact drink.) The drink was hot and fresh, the pastry was still nice for being later in the day.If youre around the art museums, its worth a stop.
Phenomenal iced chai and pastries, wonderful atmosphere, very kind and friendly barista. Highly recommend.
Great staff, great products, and a comfortable seating area
Amazing little shop behind the art gallery. Make sure to get an almond croissant.
Great local coffee shop with very nice staff! So happy I work across the street from this fine establishment!
A hideaway nook in the Logan Circle area.I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, and was pleased with the outcome. The location is tucked away on Spring Street, but its on a corner so its easy to get back towards Center City or towards the Art Museum - whatever your fancy.Parking around the area is pretty scarce, I did find a 2 hour spot just a step away though - so for me, the access was great!Inside its got that hipster detailing going on - exposed brick, dark furniture, plenty of natural light, and decent space to set up shop or just sit and enjoy a cup of whatever. It is a pretty lean menu, consisting of standard brews, along with some teas. They do have some interesting options - like grapefruit infused espresso, and Ethiopian blends.I ordered an iced chai latte with almond milk and felt it was decent. It was a bit on the sweet side so I wish it had more of the nutmeg flavor, but it wasnt watered down and didnt require any edits with additional sugar or what not.I felt the service was great, the barista answered all my questions and was patient with me while I made a decision. They also offered their own opinion on things to help me decide. The prices on are more that I would typically care to pay for - about $5 for a small cup.Overall - good experience, but just par for course. If Im in the area again, I may stop by but I cant say I would seek it out since I felt it doesnt offer anything that isnt offered elsewhere.
Chai is delicious. Very nice staff!
Definitely a favorite stop!!!
Great coffee and almond scone. Service was awesome and super nice to have outdoor seating.
Great drinks, good selection of seasonal/speciality drinks
Always fresh
One of my favorite diners to go to. The staff are amazing and very helpful. I wanted something sweet after my breakfast and i was recommended to try the maple bacon donut, and it was delicious. Great prices and atmosphere.
For all non-coffee drinkers like myself this place has an amazing chai tea latte. They also had a good selection of teas. My wife said the coffee she had was great! Would go back again.
Blown away by the flavor! I rarely post anything about any business but this place was just SOOO good. Decor was nice, has an inviting vibe. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
Great little coffee shop. They have a great variety of coffee blends and teas as well as offering great signature drinks. I had their Spicy chia tea latte last time and it lives up to its name! Definitely want some water to chase it and sip it slow but totally new take on this old favorite! They have always had a good number of people there when ive visited but are never crowded, or load. They have prompt and friendly service.
Fantastic little coffee shop! Easy walking distance from the art museum. Latte was fantastic. Almond croissant was buttery, flaky, and perfect. Peach Danish was only okay - as peaches were clearly not in season, would have been better to skip. Small selection of seating, super friendly staff.
Filled me up. the staff was very helpful and observant. the bill was decent. mood here is similar to fresnos scene.
Very solid no frills type of coffee place. Somehow the atmosphere is both energizing and relaxed. Service was friendly and accommodating. Not to mention the coffee itself is very good.
My wife and I were visiting Philly and walked from the Museum of Art to Peddler Coffee. We both got Vanilla Lattes and really enjoyed then. The price was also decent. We had an overall pleasant experience
Went there on a friday i think. the service here is better than most. i can see why they have so many good reviews.
Nice, low key coffee shop, with pretty bold flavored coffee. It wasnt busy at all on a Saturday morning, which is surprising since its in a pretty residential area with not that many coffee shop options. High strength coffee, the warm rustic and chemistry flask decorations, and open window views of the street make it a nice place to study or work.
Love this place to chill in. Also, was great with to-go during the shut down of indoor service. Followed all of the safety protocols and provided smiles :)
This cozy and quaint shop just south of the Parkway boasts a warm atmosphere and delicious coffee. Its a great stop if you can catch them when theyre open.
This is a great coffee shop with very friendly staff. Keep up the good work!
Great coffee, great people, and they have a couple of tables outside for seating, as well.
One of my favorite roasters in the whole country and I’ve been a lot of places.
We stumbled upon Peddler by accident and went in on a whim to warm up on a chilly day. Got a pour over since it was afternoon and was quite impressed. The next morning we had their house roast at The Little Lion for brunch and this coffee turned my fiancee into a black coffee person from formerly would you like some coffee with your cream?. Great coffee...will definitely seek it out when Im back in town!
Great fresh roasts, delicious pastries, knowledgeable staff. Top notch selection drinks with zero pretension. I also frequently buy my beans there.
Visited on a Thursday. I will be back with my friends. This place has a great design.
Always on the lookout for a Philly-roaster. Service was great and friendly. Sounds like the roaster knows his or her coffees and roasting. Will go back. 1st cup was a pour over that was not as strong as I like. So it was okay and not great for a single-origin coffee.Still, Ill go back a few more times for coffee and see if it will make my insider tour of great Philly coffee roasters.Has great croissants from a local patisserie.
First time here and it was amazing! Got the French toast with 2 eggs potatoes and apple chicken sausage. French toast taste like a warm Cinnabon ! Amazing! My niece ordered the steak which was tender and juicy! A little bit on the expensive side but very worth it! Will come again considering we werent able to try the donuts(they ran out) :/ found a new breakfast spot! :)
Best coffee Ive ever had. Richard and his wife Stephanie are wonderful people and visiting their shop for a cup of coffee is the best thing you can do if you like coffee or just nice people. They have a really nice dog too, his name is Titus.
Visited about four, it was not full. Ill return with my friends. The bill was appropriate.
Wonderful place. Awesome coffee and very friendly service. Barista super nice and cool! Definitely recommend it!!
Great local coffee shop, everything is great especially the pour over
Strong yet smooth espresso with milk, plus the staff is really friendly and helpful. Warning do not come here if you want a skinny soy latte with 2 pumps of syrup and extra whipped cream. ...this is not the place for that nonsense
A nice small time cozy place. They do stop making coffee after 11 so if you come in later in the day, dont expect that. But they still do lattes and other drinks so there are still options
Good independent coffee shop. Great atmosphere.
Great little coffee place near center city. Good coffee, friendly staff. A nice place to find a corner to take care of some emails.
Excellent pour over coffee and good pastry options.
Small, looks interesting from outside but very cramped space. I love going to small business coefficient shops. Many people with bikes- not sure why. Coffee tastes watery and totally flavorless, not worth money. I think instant coffee has some kick at least. Id rather pick SB unfortunately.
Good ambiance - coffee not as good
Very savory. Certainly worth a return visit.
Love this spot. Great cold brew and lattes and even better baristas
Quaint coffee shop across the main road from the Philadelphia Art Museum. They sell a variety of quality coffee and pastries including a delicious hot chocolate with vegan marshmallows. Theres plenty of seating between the bar seating along the wall and individual tables.
The coffee is excellent, and I really enjoy the homemade English muffins. The space is really nice and gets a lot of natural light.
Delicious coffee and excellent staff. Also, a cozy little shop. Would have liked more than whole milk to choose from for lightener.
Nice corner book to have a flavorful Joe. Enjoyed my Snickerdoodle, too. Crowded, but the others made room for me.
Super cute coffee shop to stop in. My latte was good, cheddar pepper biscuit was a little dry and light on the cheddar but the pepper made it awesome, and the toaster got me, too. Friendly staff -- Would definitely come back for ambience, service, coffee.
Very enjoyable nice experience on Philadelphia Marathon day. Nice music. Excellent coffee shop. Try it youll like it.
Had the CBD latte. It was good.
I have a to upgrade my review to 5 stars. after going to 20+ other coffee shops since moving here, this place is by far the best. Great, real espresso served perfectly (with sparkling water and biscotti is available for purchase). A menu with only 5 items ensures you are getting some quality coffee. The icing on the cake is the great music being played all the time. I really want to spend a lot of time here, but I can only handle the uncomfortable stools for about an hour before I have to pack up and leave. Please get some chairs with backs!
The best vanilla latte! Good pastries! Nice little place with friendly staff.
Great coffee and chai and nice aesthetic. Only room for improvement would be more comfortable seating.
Nice atmosphere. Delicious vanilla chai.
I was looking forward to going to Peddler Coffee for my first visit, for a cappuccino and a few minutes of relaxation. When I arrived today at 1:30pm, every table was taken by people sprawled over their laptops, taking up much more space than necessary. I am an older person and walk with a cane. When a young couple saw me approach the barista, they immediately took the last two seats at the counter. I was forced to take the coffee out. My beverage was served in a kiddie-sized cup and cost $3.55, which I think is outrageous. The coffee was bitter. I will never go back again.
Best vanilla latte Ive ever had. No lie. Coffee done right, and with a phenomenal vibe.
Trendy coffee shop. Great for grab and go. Not much seating.
Omg. Crazy good coffee #bestinphilly.
Knowledgeable staff, flavorful roasts, and a tranquil atmosphere round off the long-awaited brick-and-mortar for Peddler Coffee. The shop is located out back of the Franklin Institute in an area otherwise devoid of artisan coffee.Pour-over roasts, my favorite coffee to order, hail from exotic locations, and their default drip roast is an uncommon find from Brazil. Wash down whatever you order with a pastry or biscotti from local bakeries (Am Fornil or Bucks Country Biscotti, currently).Been dying to visit for a while and was not disappointed on this sleepy Sunday morning!
Absolutely delicious coffee and a great vibe!
Always top-notch coffee with the least pretentious staff in Philly. Their sourcing and roasting is evidence of someone that knows what theyre doing. Drip coffee to convert Dunkin fans, pour-overs for hardcore coffee lovers.
Locally baked yummies. Excellent espresso. Nice atmosphere.
Small coffee shop with a small but good selection of pastries. Pleasant service.
Beautiful coffee shop. The lavender tea was refreshing
Very cozy great customer service!
Order: Pour Over (sort of)Price: $2.50Pros: Incredibly fast service, nice style to their seating (though not much of it), seems set up to work in (no music going crazy, not a ton of people talking, everyone seems to be there to work)Cons: Their pour over is pre-brewed and you just order a cup of it leading to a slightly pre-heated taste, while the seating is nice there isn’t much of it and I’m sure it can get cramped.Thoughts: Day two in Philly and my wife had just a bit of work they had to do so we needed to find a coffee shop that would be conducive to get some work done. We found some parking nearby, walked in and decided this was definitely a good spot. There were plenty of people working away, the volume was relatively low, and we spotted a small wall bar table and set up shop.I went to the counter to order and asked for a pour over, they said that the way they do pour overs is that they make them in advance and store them in a large container to serve as quickly as possible. The advantage here is that this makes getting coffee incredibly quick, the downside is that the coffee tastes a little less than fresh. We were there for about two hours and I watched quite a few people come in and grab coffee quickly and then dart out the door.Overall the coffee itself was decent just not exceptional. It was a great place to work and you can get your coffee super-fast so if you were in a hurry, or needed to get a lot of work done it’s worth stopping in.
Discovered this gem on my way to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I walked by and just had to drop in. The visual message of the store is very clear: we focus on what matters and we are no nonsense. Their coffee and interior tell the same story. I found the place very relaxing yet uplifting. My eyes could rest on any detail of the store without being annoyed by shoddiness or wobbly things. There was no loud jarring noise for the 10 minutes I was there. It was almost Northwestern European. (Yes, now you know my bias).
Amazing organic coffee beans and amazing brewing equipment. First review :] seems to be doing well and it opened 3 days ago!! Support this place!!
Be careful ordering coffee here. I received the worst tasting coffee of my life, presumably due to barista incompetence. The $4.00 chemex-brewed pour over tasted extremely bitter and over-extracted. The beans themselves may be fine, but my sole experience was so bad that Im not likely to return.
Nice little place. Had a nice cold brew coffee.
Pleasant service, good coffee in this cozy neighborhood coffee shop. Has WiFi and a water bowl for the doggies.
I really like this place, it is very different from any other coffee shop in the city, it has a special vibe on weekend mornings, no human misery you will find in a saxby or starbucks cafe, the people here seem to really enjoy their time and are alive.
Great drip and EXCELLENT espresso. Have been twice already and will definitely be back.
The service was very quick, we had a group of 13 come in. The coffee was perfect. They didnt have many food items, mostly a light snack place.
Good spot in what would otherwise be a coffee desert.
Good coffee, small but tasteful selection of pastries, very nice environment, friendly servers.
Comfortable neighborhood coffee shop. Excellent drinks
One of the best northwest-style coffee shops around.
Had a cappuccino with house made honey ginger. Fantastic!
