This is one of our favorite breakfast places in Philly. We usually get the veggie hash (it’s large enough to share). Their oat cappuccino is great too. The only caveat is that it’s cash only - and their ATM didn’t work the last time we went so that was not very convenient. Wish they reconsidered their payment options - and that’s coming from a fellow small business owner.
Service was great, food was great & the atmosphere was great. My boyfriend got the Lot & I got the ham, egg & brie croissant with mixed greens. The sandwich was so good & the mixed greens with the balsamic dressing was good as well. Our waiter was really nice filling up our waters frequently and checking in on us often even when he was the only one waiting on tables. I highly recommend this place to anyone staying in the area!
Great little cafe, good service, good food (some good vegetarian options as well). Its cash only which is a bit strange in this day and age, but its good enough that Im more than willing to deal with it.
All I can say is, WOW!!This weekend was my first time at ants pants and I will definitely be returning. Bella, was so incredibly helpful with answering all of my questions, she grabbed us a drink while we waited in line. Indecision plagues my daily life, but bella helped direct me to the maple bacon sandwich and oh my goodness, it was the BEST sandwich I have ever had! My friend got the Italian sausage hash, and she absolutely loved it.The restaurant is so cute! And the service is prompt, helpful, and friendly. Seriously, go visit ants pants.
Horrible staff and terrible food! Never ever again!! Don’t waste your time and money!
Really cute cafe; a south street staple. I had the stuffed french toast and a cappuccino. They were both delicious, and prices were fair for the city. The staff is also very nice and attentive. A couple of things to watch out for though are that it is cash only, so have those bills prepared (although I think they had an atm in there), and if youre sitting inside, it does tend to get very loud, as it is a tiny spot and everyones a bit on top of each other, and clanking of dishes gets loud. But really these are just minuscule things that shouldnt keep you from going. Other than that, this place is such a gem!
Hip Australian meats Philly brunch spot on South Street West. Definitely worth checking out, everything here was delicious with great coffee. Get the house cold brew.
Food was great! Service was a tad slow though.
Food is greasy and overpriced. Pancakes were dense and bland. Service was slow with almost no follow up. We had to ask for items like salt and pepper multiple times. The staff was rude and unhelpful when I asked for clarification on the $0.75 charge for ice in an iced latte. “I don’t set the prices, so I don’t know why you’re asking me.” When I asked who would know, I was told she doesn’t know.
Tried this restaurant for breakfast for the first time and they didnt disappoint! The breakfast burrito was oversized and delicious, and the oatmeal was a large portion with fruit and nuts. Prices not cheap, but very fair given the quantity and quality of the food. Ants Pants has a new, satisfied customer in me!
I havent been here in several years. I returned for an early morning breakfast and was not disappointed. They still have the regular favorites like the Brekkie platter but i managed to get the stuffed french toast. It was a special and was quite special. Bread was light enough that I was nearly able to finish the big sandwich. Cash only but they have an atm. 5 stars for sustained quality.
Great vibe, big portions, and delicious food!
Always delicious and great service. The smoothies are amazing.
Excellent food, friendly and good service.
When I moved to this area two years ago, this was one of the first places I went to eat. I’ve been a loyal customers ever since. The people that run this place are incredible and the food is THE BEST. Their hot and sweet bacon egg and cheese sandwich is my favorite. You have to try their chip fries, juice, and cold brew too!
Chicken Caesar is a beautiful thing!! That Little toast melts in your mouth 😍
Always loved going there
Delish brekkie burrito with house made dressings and sour cream, aussie coffee drinks and a beautiful selection of sweet and savory dishes with some vegan options. All with diner prices and jazzy brunch vibes.
Ants Pants is one of my favorite lunch / brunch places in Philly. Its pretty small and simple but has a warm and cozy feel. The staff couldnt be friendlier and are always smiling even when things are hectic (weekend brunch time is usually pretty packed and there is a 20 mins or so wait). My husband and I used to go at least once per month before the pandemic and they always remember our regular orders and occasionally give us a neighbors discount! The ingredients are fresh and the food never disappoints. My husband usually gets the BLT sandwich and I alternate between the Greek omelet, the grilled cheese sandwich or the special when it is still available. They also have a smoothie special every day (different flavors). I like them all but the mixed berry is my favorite. They also have a cute closed backyard that we prefer when not too hot or cold. They also do pickup during the pandemic. We called to order and they have everything ready withing 15-20 mins or so. Highly recommended if you live in the neighborhood!!!
The food isn’t bad, but seriously... they advertised “butterscotch” pancakes and they served me regular pancakes with one, yes one tastykake butterscotch krimpet sitting on top. Is that some kind of joke?
Pretty below average as breakfast spots to
We got brunch here today and wow...the food and drinks are absolutely delicious. Fresh, good portions, and decent pricing. My fave part was the Aussie Iced Coffee - it is officialy my fave iced coffee I’ve ever had in the city. I should have gotten 2 of em lol. We will def be back / ordering more from here soon!! Well done Ants Pants :)
Great vibe and food.
Food is good. But customer service could be improved, postmates pickup order was supposed to be ready at 9:07 for pickup, but we didn’t receive until 9:37AM. Delay is understandable but the least they could’ve done is apologize for the delay, instead of using the excuse that “next time you should order by phone instead.”
Food was awesome, but service could have been better. Forgot about milk for my coffee, and never came back to see if we wanted more coffee or needed anything else. Other than that, great place.
Decent brunch option. They get pretty busy on the weekend. The food is good, but nothing really interesting. Pretty basic stuff. I dont usually complain about pricing, but I think the prices are pretty high here for very basic things like a standard breakfast platter (bacon, eggs, potatoes, etc). $13 for a grilled cheese. Also they charge like $1-2 for a little side of aioli. They also dont take credit cards. All that said, again, its decent. Its a neighborhood cafe. My favorite thing there is the maple bacon sandwich.
Good place for a quick bite. I had the gruyere grilled cheese sandwich which was exceptionally good. The people are friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. The only thing in my view that was lacking was their no credit card policy. There is an ATM in the restaurant but it will charge you a service fee to access your account.
Everyone in our party of 5 loved the food, including the vegetarians. I had the hot & sweet bacon egg and cheese roll and would order it again! Good (not great) service. Felt abandoned a couple times. But we will be back. Gets crowded. Go early. Cash only.
This is definitely my boyfriend and Is favorite brunch spot... the sandwiches are great, the sweet potato fries are THE BEST, their choc chip and banana pancakes are fantastic... their daily smoothie, and the fresh pressed juices are delicious... we simply cant get enough of this place. We always have the same server here and hes great... friendly and welcoming, it is always a pleasure to visit this place. Cant wait to go back again soon 😄
Delicious turkey sausage patties, the pancakes were sooo buttery it melts in your mouth
Really like this place, its small and relaxing with delicious food. Things to look out for.Pros1. Ambiance2. Quick and prompt service.3. Good menu options.4. Affordable pricing.5. Vegan & Vegetarian options.6. Delicious food.Cons/Things that can be improved1. Food portions could be a little more, probably 10% more.
Amazing food and staff!! My favorite is the maple bacon sandwich. The owner and the staff are the friendliest people, seriously amazing. Would give them more than 5 stars if possible, definitely the BEST brunch experience in Philadelphia!!
This was a very nice place for breakfast. Or server was great, the place is small but it wasnt packed either, could have been because we had a late breakfast though. They had good coffee, and French bread and my fancy egg dish was pretty good the first few bites, then it somehow started tasting too sweet. And then the sweet Italian sausage became all chewy-fast, and little meat? It was still a very good breakfast, and will be a nice place to visit again soon.
Wow.. wonderful food and great service.
Excellent food. Staff seems like they are overly medicated
Good place for quality Cafe food. i was so stuffed. had a sister come into town and asked me to take her here again. the bill was decent. mood here reminds me of colorado springs area.
Cafe food and the feeling here is quality. Service is consistently good. Reminds me of a restaurant in Philadelphia that I enjoyed.
A hidden gem on south street! I got the BLT. AWESOME! The bread was a homerun. Go for the potato discs they too are excellent with the right amount of sea salt on top. If Im that way Im going to try more of their food!
The name of the place is pretty accurate with how you will feel when you are sitting and eating at this Restaurant. You will be uncomfortable crammed and sweating like you are in a sauna. You will pay around $5 for almost any beverage. Also they are very very small. Worth about a $1.50 Lets get into the food shall we. The eggs were average The Hash fries were actually decent I like that they added a little sweet potato to it. I do not like the fact that my ommlet did not come with toast and that I had to pay extra for it and I only received one slice. I rate this place of one because it doesnt deserve a 4.6 rating. It does not compete with any of the better breakfast or brunch restaurants in center city. I was crawling out of my skin sitting in this restaurant. You couldnt pay me to go back here. So many better breakfast /brunch places in the city. Im sure half of these reviews are fake but mine is a 100% legit
Absolutely delicious food and amazing staff. Its a really unique place in that it is Australian and they offer a very wide variety of drinks. Great aesthetic too
Cafe food, yeah, so great. Great location to chill, eat some good food. The service here is outstanding. It has a nice atmosphere.
Food was NOT worth the price.
One of my favorite breakfast/brunch spots in Philly. I always get one of the sweet potato hash dishes or the maple bacon. Their entire menu is filled with unique renditions of classic brunch dishes. They are also one of the few brunch spots with great coffee and not the typical over-brewed/extracted coffee. Overall, friendly service and tasty food.
A brunch place that is both familiar and different. Australian heritage is stressed. The food is good and service is attentive. We come here often.
Excellent food and service. A smaller menu than some other larger brunch spots, but with excellent care taken in making unique and memorable meals. Their Aussie Iced Coffee and orange juice are really great on a hot summer day. One of my favorite meals there is the Sweet Potato Hash. Also, if you love bacon, get The Stack! Cash-only joint, ATM located inside.
My favorite brunch place ever! The food is amazing and the staff is wonderful. Paul is usually our server and hes amazing. Always a smile on his face. Definitely check them out and look at their specials on the mirror against the wall or on the chalk board. You wont be disappointed at Ants Pants.
Theyve recently tweaked the brunch menu. The changes include some awesome dishes. The sweet potato hash is a popular addition. They will soon starting serving casual dinner which Im sure will be amazing. This is a neighborhood gem thats worth the drive! The coffee is amazing, also. The sides of fruit and/or salad are always fresh and palate-pleasing.Come, you won/t be disappointed.
Incredible brunch! We got there right before the crowd (its a very small space) and had amazing food. Will definitely go back. Sandwiches were good, French toast was great. All around awesome experience.
Very good and very busy! Call your lunch order as early as possible!
This place is the perfect little eatery. They have amazing food, really great service and I always leave full and happy. The Maple Bacon sandwich is one of my favorite things in the world. You have to try it.
Food was very tasty, although the brie wasnt melted on my Brie French Toast. Pricing is great for gourmet brekkie, except a $5.00 charge for apple juice. Granted, the apples were fresh squeezed but thats a bit much. All in all, a very nice brunch spot.
Food was amazing! Steven was our waiter and he was great! Had the Italian scramble, highly recommend it. Only thing is that it’s on the smaller size so it was really loud.
Ants pants saved the day! Not only do they have amazing food and friendly service, but when I accidentally lost cash just outside of their business, they worked with the neighboring nail salon to find me and return it! They went above and beyond and are a fantastic neighbor. Thank you Ants Pants!
Exactly what I needed! Came here around 11 am on a Saturday and the place was packed: always a good sign. They seated us quickly, though, and the food came speedily as well. Speaking of the food, it was AWESOME. If youre seeking solid breakfast deliciousness, look no further than Ants Pants.
The wait is pretty long because there is such little seating. It took about 45 min to be seated. Staff was friendly once we started to order food. Eggs are their speciality, but they were pretty average. The brie French toast was a nice sweet dish. Overall, not worth the wait, but average food for an average price.
I really dont get why this place has a 4,5. My experience is average. Its just OK. Neither the coffee nor the food had something special. There are so many terrific places in Philly where the food and the coffee are better!
One of my favorite breakfast spots in the city! Staff is super nice even though they are busy all the time. Plus they put out a water bowl for dogs 🐶 Great place!
A few teachers and myself went to try this place out! AMAZING! Brunch all day. I had the chicken ranch and shoestring fries. WOW! Prices are great! Its a must try. Eat in/out. CASH ONLY, but ATM is located in the back.
Food was very good. Service was personable and professional if a bit slow, but then, they were very busy for good reason. Would recommend.
Most people Rave about it. I thought it was just okay. The dining room is very noisy and the garden in the back isnt a garden its kind of a very basic room. The staff is very nice. The food is probably a little better than the ambience.
Yes, as others have said, the wait can be long. Compared to Honey s down the street, its pretty similar. However, if you want a coffee thats more than just a coffee, you want to go here. The food is not greasy as other breakfast places, and I like that the portions arent giant. The wait can definitely be long, but I didnt wait to sit at all today and I got there just before 10.
Slow for the amount of customers. Service was fine, they were pleasant but didnt go out of their way. My special was good, but nothing great. Will have to try a regular plate next time, because my wifes omelet was really good.
Great neighborhood spot for brunch. Gets very busy for brunch on the weekends. They have a cool little back patio. Good wholesome food options and nice refreshing juice/smoothie options.
Good food, fun decor. Service adequate.
My favorite place for tasty Cafe food. this place has a great feel to it.
Delicious and good portions. Great service
Always ready service.
Good food just be sure to bring cash as it cash only which I sadly discovered after my bill came :( But there is a notice posted that I happened to not see
This cafe looks sketchy on the outside but it is the local hot spot! The coffee, food, and service was all wonderful!! If we go back to PA they will have our business again!
Great spot to catch up on some Australian favourites. Try the Australian iced coffee or iced chocolate. The food is pretty good too, but expect a long wait for seating.
My favorite spot in the whole area hands down. Food is consistently great and diverse. The staff is so friendly, you really feel like youve stepped into someones home here :)
Nice little place located in a nice neighborhood, small space but nicely decorated,it can get crowded fast .good coffee and good food, good place to eat at any time . Just come a try it out.
Been going here for years, Eggs Benedict is the best in the city.
Small place but we hopped right in on a Saturday morning for brunch. Brie french toast is out of this world! Bring cash!!
Yummy food and quick service. We sat a bit after finishing and didnt feel rushed.
Didnt find it as special as other folks, but its a solid brunch spot with very nice servers and a cozy atmosphere.
Good, quick, relatively cheap brunch spot. Sometimes there can be a wait but the line moves fast. A go-to for Grad Hospital dwellers.
Good food. I often go elsewhere, but would go here a lot more if they accepted credit cards. Why can’t these restaurants realize that people don’t want to carry cash around for purchases?
