A great comic book store with something for everyone. They have such a great variety for different age levels. We happened to walk in on free comic day (usually one day in month of May but this year was in August because of Covid) and they were so generous in how many comics they have away! They were also really friendly and knowledgeable - highly recommend.

It is a great store with an amazing collection of collectable statues, pop figures, and comic books the staff was knowledgeable about their selection and i came out with great deals im definitely coming back to get more figures

Well they had an action figure that stores said coming out in 2022 that i was able to purchase. But truthfully. They had alot of comics and sadly. I only came for the figure

Cool experience. What you imagine an inner city comic store & memorabilia store might look like. Especially enjoyed the gum ball style trinket dispensers.

They have a good selection of back issues. The pop culture statues and toys are pretty present and accounted for. I cant comment on the customer service as I only really checked out and didnt need help finding anything (Comic stores all have the same layouts so if you know one, you know all). The one issue I had was parking, its is near impossible on South Street, especially in this area. Be prepared to pay or walk. Otherwise its a pretty cool little store.

They get a good selection of books and a lot of the older reprints that I like to buy. One of my go-to comic stores in the city.

Very expensive and there was a femboy in a dress with cat ears walking around so watch bringing your kids in there

Its more than just Comic book shopping. The clerks are knowledgeable and with the amount of volume they carry I always have a great chance of catching am issue I may have missed!👌🏿

Always like the merchandise. But honestly I feel the staff could be more inviting and welcoming. Over the years they truly seem to care less and less about being there. And honestly no ones forcing them too. Try to hire staff and management that are more friendly. Now this isnt the entire staff but a good majority.

Greatest comic book shop in not just Philly but in the multiverse......ok 3rd in the multiverse, Universe 32s variant has 2 floors and Marvel Vs Capcom 5 tournaments every month, you cant beat that.

Took my daughter for her 16th bday abd she loved it. Manager is so nice and helpful. Not crowded either I love it.

I really liked the place! Not only did it have manga and comics I cant find in most BAM/B&Ns but the cashier I had was the most friendly, patient and helpful dude ever.

The owners or employees, probably both, attacked my friend who was shopping here for no reason. This place is really dangerous, and the people who work here are wrong in the head because theyre always starting trouble with their own customers. Theres plenty of other comic book stores that dont harass or assault their own customers close by, and with better prices too.

I love finding a comic book store when visiting a city. This one was a terrific find!! Great staff, great selection.

I was a subscriber for many years - predating myself, the shoppe at that time was Comics & More. I was still a subscriber when they changed names and moved from 4th & South to 6th & South. The store went through many employees and even managers, including a really nice gentleman who passed away. But all-in-all, I was still a dedicated subscriber and supporter. However, that changed over 12 years ago while I waited in the store for 10 minutes for any employee to acknowledge my presence on a new comic day. I remember the one gentleman had worked at Fat Jacks prior to his stint here. I had asked if I could get my books and he simply said, Sorry I cant help you, and continued to walk by me. Mind you, this wasnt the first time this happened, but it was the last. That day I ended my subscription and found my books elsewhere. From time-to-time I will stop in just to see whats on the shelves, but I have not bought anything from they from quite some time. They truly do not treat customers well at all. After all, as a loyal, weekly subscriber who picked up his books faithfully -I was completely disregarded. Not good customer service skills at all.

Personally didnt go to the store for comics but I saw a large collection of comics in there. The manga section was the best Ive seen in Philly so far.

Visited one of my favorite comic shops. Great selection of popular and ongoing series. They have stuff for new comic book fans and those who have benn collecting for ages. They even have some back stock available for folks looking to fill in gaps. I do wish they had more LGBT & Adult centered comics but the fill the space they have to the brim with great stuff. I never leave empty handed.

Hands down the best comic shop Ive ever set foot in. The inventory is impressive; somehow they always have whatever obscure foreign manga Im in search of...we have a great comic city here in Philadelphia, with some wonderful shops. But Atomic City really takes the cake. Also the owners are so personable they always have helpful, tailored recommendations no matter what youre picking up. :)

I love this shop, great selections and awesome vibes I love that you can challenge the owner on the old school arcade systems i lost of course but I have been coming here since high-school they are great people ❤ and even better on sales they even have a table where you can sometimes grab old poster for free I just simply appreciate that they help when they can in finding specifics also if you have old comics you trynna sell this is the place to be best prices in town

First time there (after my 2nd COVID shot) and wasnt sure what I was looking for, but glad I made a stop. I dont live nearby, so I needed to stop.Initially I planned to come by during Xmas for a Secret Santa gift, but it meets my own interests as well.Once I had an idea of what I wanted, it/they were not available, but that is understandable, especially during COVID. I came up with ideas once I knew what was available, but still wasnt sure they would stock it. I did walk off with an amazing Evangelion coffee table book, though.Yes, I understand the irony of putting it on my bookshelf.Malik (not sure of the spelling) did his best to work with a difficult(?) customer while I was there and I think he did a great job.Ill be back. Id been meaning to visit and I was not disappointed. I am more on the anime/manga side of things rather than traditional comics, but there was a good offering. I was allowed to use a stool to use look at items (its all alphabetical), which was nice.Probably a better store if you have an idea of what you want and what they stock, but I am happy with my experience overall.

This besides Barnes and Nobles has become my go to place for Comics. They also have a large variety of Manga as well. Friendly staff and clean establishment. Love love love this place!!

Awesome comics, but the staff took everything I had to make sure I didnt steal anything. Its a shame, I really wanted to feel like a kid again, not an inmate.

I went there looking for manga, they have a lot of old stuff that is really rare. i got evangelion manga and started this new series called “dogs” one of the manga i got was damaged and was turning yellow a little bit. and was selling for retail price. i would go here if you want old mangas that are rare and hard to find. but dont expect any new gen ones.

Id say the best place to get comics in the city! They have tons of events for the community, free give aways, you can also get notified when comics come in. They also buy comics, and sell other things related to comics. I go here for everything! Great people who work there also

I will not support this company, I was recently here 9/6/21, and i seen a man that works at the store, putting his hands on a woman customer and was pulling her hair, punching her in the face and body slamming her on the ground, she had many injuries on her body, including two scrapped knees, black eyes, scratch under the eye, redness on the skin and lost of hair, i do not like inequality or violence by men against women and this store gets 0 stars from me.

The guys who run this store are definitely the kind of guys who aggressively and inappropriately virtue signal how much they respect women, only to become a lot more aggressive when their advances are rejected. The atmosphere of this place is disturbingly entitled. Im a woman, therefore it must be true. At least according to the guys who work here.

Black owned comic bookstore. Has a lot of obscure comics and POC lead comics. Definitely go check it out, plus Ishikabbible is nearby!!!

Great place very friendly and clean lots of great information about comics and collectibles very clean store everybody is wearing them masks and theyre protecting themselves in there and they only allow certain amount of people as long as they are in the proper social distance amount I love this place I will be back again and highly recommend it for everybody else

I was a previous subscriber of 4 years, but changed to a different store once we got fed up with our pull list always being messed up and the general stench of the store. I decided to give it a 2nd chance when our local store closed. I arrived at 4 on Wednesday, new comic book day. Multiple very popular books appeared to be sold out only hours after release, the the jabroni who owns the place told me that the books are in fact in the store, but just not restocked, so if I came back another time, they might be back on the shelves. If I have to make multiple trips to the same comic book store to get books that are already there,its not worth my time. Per the owner, thats the way it is in a store this size. If youre from out of town or just randomly stopping in, you might like this place, but if youre looking for a store with an owner who at least pretends hes interested in your business, look elsewhere.

I never stepped in the store. I hear it is an amazing place to visit. I purchased a comic from them off eBay, the comic arrived damaged. Bad things happen. The way I was dealt with by the customer service was appalling. I work in customer service and that would have got me fired.

This place is so woke it could give a bottle of ambien insomnia. Keep your kids away from here unless you want the MAPs inside dressing them in dråg, Im not talking about cartography enthusiasts either.

Very poor customer service here, as usual. Lazy, inc ompetent workers with zero professionalism. This magnitude entitled, trashy self-indulgence is usually reserved for thirty-somethings working in a record store.Of course with commun ism, intersectionalism, and soy having south street in a death grip, the owners obviously could never impose upon their employees to teach them customer service, manners, or common courtesy for their customers.

The last time I was here, the woman working was so snotty and rude (picture every girl described in that Negative XP song, Scott Pilgrim Ruined An Entire Generation of Women), that I walked out without buying the book I wanted.I went and bought it from Fat Jacks instead, for cheaper and without anyone hassling me. I guess theyre still in business partly because of their location, but theyd better watch out, because with that kind of service, people will just order online or buy somewhere else in town.

Excellent, extremely helpful staff. Great store, even better selection. I found so many books I was interested in that I had to decide between them all which ones to get, and even then I ended up going with a recommendation by an employee. He was right. Im still totally in love with and reading the graphic novel he recommended weeks later.This was not the first time I had been to this store, I used to go here all the time back when I was going to college in Philly. I loved this store, and South Street. Fantastic to see that its still going strong!

I really enjoyed this shop, I am not an avid comic reader but I do enjoy them and this was a nice place. It is not a big space but I found the selection to be a good size. The employees that were there were very pleasant and helpful. I did not plan to stay and read just went in to browser around and came out with two comics. I had people with me and they were able to sit while I looked around. This is a nice find in the area and if ever visiting again and in that area I will be sure to stop back by.

Dont care much for comics, so I cant speak to that, but they have the best manga selection Ive found in Philadelphia so far.
