I needed 2 8ft sticks of aluminum pipe...they had them on the floor priced by the foot...had 3 people working up front none of which could cut the pipe to size....nor do they sell any kind of pipe cutter so I couldnt even just buy the 12 ft sticks and cut them to fit in my car. Not helpful in anyway whatsoever

Everyone I encountered here was rude and didnt want to help me pick up my order. I spent more than 45 minutes waiting outside for my will call and when no one came after 20 mins of waiting I got out and got yelled at as soon as my feet touched the ground to get back in my truck. Totally uncalled for. Especially since all I wanted was to ask where my stuff was. Ill never go back.

Ordered some materials for my company. They were extremely professional and they even loaded the materials on the company vehicle for me. Awesome experience.

IMS does a very poor job with their will call department. I was given a pick up time of 3 hours later from my purchase time, I show up and my items are not ready and they give me attitude that I must wait but yet they can’t even provide an ETA. All I purchase was one 10’ stick on 1 1/2” round stainless steel pipe easy for them to just hand it over.

Well maintained business. They carry carbon steel (hot rolled, cold rolled), stainless steel, aluminum, some copper and bronze. Good selection of all common metal shapes and form factors. Their internal super market offers precut lengths: Tube and Angle is 10 ft long. Also smaller precuts of aluminum and stainless steel. They carry structural shapes, architectural shapes and wrought iron form factors. They have a selection of AR500 armor plate shapes. In their main warehouse they stock all sorts of full length metal forms and shapes. Their Remnant Room is a must visit, first stop for me, even if I already have a shopping list. If your a pro or hobby fabricator its a good place for metals. Much better than the Big Box HDW Stores. Open Mon-Fri and Sat mornings. Closed Sunday. Also Praxair Welding Supply is right next door.Cleaner shop than Davis Salvage, but Davis lets you rummage through their salvage metal area for odd ball stuff (vehicle springs for Blacksmithing.) Davis also sells new steel also in common shapes and form factors.

Went on a Monday around 12pm. Put in my order on the north side...picked it up on the south will call...only waited maybe 10 min. These guys have everything and its nice that theres a welding supply store right next to the will call. BTW my order was 20ft 1/2in spiral iron cut at 11 and 9 ft.

Really slow service. There for over an hour waiting on 6 pieces of steel. Everything else was up to par. The slow service needs improving. I aint making any money settn there waiting for a small order of steel

Had everything I needed. Employees were patient, kind, and helpful. Had to wait about 45 minutes at Will Call for some materials I ordered the day before. It was around 4pm though, so I understand it taking a bit. Ind give them 4.5 stars if I could. I love that place.

Well as a hobbyist with a welder and skills to create, I made my first visit to IMS on Wednesday...talk about an IMPRESSIVE and well run operation! The gal at the counter was extremely knowledgeable and very very helpful in getting me the various metal pieces that I needed...their ordering and order fulfillment system is nothing short of amazingly efficient and should be modeled by other similar operations! AND..talk about concern and awareness for the corona epidemic......you were welcomed by a wear a mask or we will give you one to come into our business......signs every where...outside and inside ..directing social distancing and concern for the health of both the employees and their customers...even when picking up you are directed to remain in your car out of concern for the virus and the order will be brought out to you by mask wearing lift operators! I was totally blown away by the way this business is operated!! Id like to shake the owners and managers hands if it wasnt for this maddening virus situation! Such a refreshing visit to people dealing with reality and facing it head on!! I wish I were a professional welder as I would be there every day!! So I love this store and for the most part, I have never had an issue with them other than minor things over the years, until around the start of 2020. I have an account with them and use them often but after today, I think Ill start doing more business with Davis Metals or American. I needed a price on some material and seeings how you have to submit quotes online I figured Ill just call. So I called and talked with some guy who didnt sound like he really wanted to work, so I told him what I needed and his reply was computers are down so I cant give you a price then just gets quite..... for like 15-20 seconds. I say so if I come down to the store to buy something, I cant is what youre saying? reply: .............. ok well I guess its too much to ask for you to do your job. Lately the majority of the people who work the counters are like this. Like the customer, who without them, they have no job ( just sayin ), is bothering them. Have some respect and maybe go to a few classes to learn a thing called Customer Service its a pretty old thing that keeps customers coming back. I mean if me as a customer needing something or need to purchase something is too much of a hassle for you, I can just take my business elsewhere.

Iv’e been coming here off and on for a few years. I just bought some remnant material today and there was some confusion about pricing. I went back in and they worked out a deal with me, very good people. I will continue coming back for metal supplies. Thank you IMSC!!

Warehouse is in no hurry. Plan on being there forever. Went in today. No customers. 5 guys standing around talking while the band my metal. Waited 45 minutes for them to pull 7 pieces of tubing. No cuts. I only come here when I have to.

Our usual driver Henry is awesome! For some reason today i had my delivery sent to my home address. Henry seen it and thought it wasnt right and called me to verify . Now its coming to the right place!

I know this is only a metal supply store but this place is outstanding All the way from the front counter to will call excellent service the young lady at the front counter didnt hesitate to jump out from behind the desk and come out and show me exactly what I was looking for. I did my research round The Valley and these folks have the best prices very easy transaction an excellent choice of products. I like the place so much in motivated me to wanna go out and build some more I will definitely be back.

With every other business operating fairly normally save for the odd piece of hanging Plexiglas, this place is like a Monty Python sketch. Signs hanging all over that are contradicted by masked men, no trailer parking in the trailer parking, no entry through the entry or exit, no exiting through the exit or entry. Wear a mask that does nothing to enter, who knows how far it goes on the inside because thats all the farther I went. Ill just get steel from someone that is open. Theres a half hour of my life I wont get back...

Ive been going to this place for over 8 years and the last 2 years they have gotten worse and worse. Prices arent awful but the customer service is bad enough that it wastes enough time that you dont save anything. constantly lacking stock inthe store and not refilling it, not having standard nominal sizes of various materials.I highly recommend American Metals, or Metal Supermarkets.

The only negative I could find was that the cashier line gets a little long, but then again it is a very popular place. They have gloves in buckets for picking up the oily steel and there is a bunch of really pretty iron things for sale at not too high of a price. I took a girl friend of mine, as I was going there for steel posts. She wanted to see how she could adorn the steel gate by her house. She found plenty. She was like a kid in a candy store.With the metal if you need something cut. They can do it. If it is a large load they can load it and their scraps pile is really handy for odd stuff. I am a scrounger from way back and hate wasting anything. Both my wife and I are that way.

If you’re picking up a will call order you might want to get there 24 hours in advance because you’re gonna be in line for six hours even if you’re only picking up one piece of metal. Horrible system and staff that doesn’t care about people’s time. Bring food and a sleeping bag because you’ll be in line for hours.

I have been coming here for personal projects for years and set up multiple accounts for the various companies I have worked for. You may pay more but the service regardless of the state is always great. When I ran a waterjet and got a warped sheet they would have no problem remedying the situation.

Slow service and add anything to a will call order unless you have 2 hours to waste. They also told me everything was in stock and it was not. Terrible warehouse service.

Every time I go in its euphoric all the cool products they carry. Its soon surpassed by the incredible wait time. They all work hard but man times money.

I’m not usually someone that reviews businesses. But, today Hayden at IMS went above and beyond to correct an issue I had today.I went in yesterday (12/2/19) for some speed rail and mounts. I have the guy at the desk the part number and showed him a picture, and still managed to get the part wrong. I was working on the complete opposite side of town and couldn’t make it back before they closed.I sent one of my coworkers the next morning with the receipts and the same pic I showed the clerk. Still ended up with the wrong mounts.I called IMS after he arrived back on location with the wrong mounts. I talked to Scott originally, and he said he would email Hayden and get this issue resolved. I got a call back from Hayden within minutes of ending the call with Scott. He apologized asked for all the info and said he’ll help me out.I must say, he absolutely came through for us! Not only did he get me the right parts, match the price to the wrong parts, but he hand delivered the parts himself!!! I had to leave the site to get more supplies, so I couldn’t thank him in person, but I’ve gotta say that is the epitome of customer service!Thank you Scott, and THANK YOU Hayden. You have a customer for life.

I get all of my steel here for my welding projects. They always have everything I need in stock. Their delivery charges are minimal. All of the people who work there are very helpful, if they dont know an answer, theyll find out. I love their artist bin of misc pieces.

Decent to good pricing, always prompt with quotes and return calls and has plenty of stock for what we need them to stock. Obviously they dont carry sanitary fittings, not their wheel house and nor should it be, its our wheel house. However, for what they do carry they have plenty of stock on hand and it gets to Will Call relatively fast after ordering. Been buying from them for years and they havent let me down yet. Always willing to work with us whenever an issue arises as well which is thankfully rare.

They have a great selection of materials. This is my slowest supplier. I will remember to look somewhere else next time. Please fix this so i can come back.

Pretty cool store to browse around the raw metals. As a average DIYer, I needed a small aluminum plate that usual places like home depot do not carry. I found a remnant piece for $5 they even agreed to make one cut so it fits my needs. Lots of artistic potential here with cool industrial metals which are all the rage right now. Thinking I need to learn to weld! Just plan on spending some time here especially if getting cuts. Thanks

I have used IMS for years but over the past two years their over all quality has dropped drastically. Ive had them over price, they quoted me for steel when I asked for a quote on aluminum. Based my quote to my customer based on the price I was given from them. I was delivered steel instead of aluminum. Material didnt make the truck. Wrong material made the truck. Ordered and paid for 21 tube and it showed up at 20 length. Currently work on finding more reliable vendors.

Those guys are great always find what you need

Waited 2 hours for a single piece of square tubing. Specified a length and after waiting 2 hours it was short from what we asked for. Waited another hour to have it re-cut. Wait times are simply a joke.

I have been a victim of slow will call service many times before. They once told me they dont cut it till you get there to avoid waste if I did a no show. I prepaid, so I let them know how dumb that excuse was. HOW EVER, on my last order I stressed when placing my order this was not going to be acceptable. I told them If it wasnt ready in the time quoted (and I gave them 1 1/2 hours more) I expected to be given a discount for my time spent waiting. This time they were ready for me. Good job guys, Thats how its done. 4 stars this time.

Normally we have no issues with this place. We ordered tubing on Monday, was told it would be delivered on Tuesday the next day. Never happened, its friday night now and still no tubing. We called each day to ask what happened and was told each time that it is on the truck for delivery, with no explanation of why it never showed the day before. Just never showed up. From a business stand point, find someone else if you want good service.

Been coming here for years. Inside the store is always a great experience. Outside though (will call) is ALWAYS horrible. Even if they call you and say that your order is ready to pick up, you wait for an hour. Its like two separate businesses. One is amazing and one is totally inept.

I really wish things had turned out differently here because youll find some great inventory here. Unfortunately, youll also find a surly, hostile staff that seems like they train TSA agents as a side job. The very first words I heard from someone: Just so you know, we close in 10 minutes. Thats fair enough - I knew what I needed, located it in the store and then asked for some help in getting it (it appeared to be locked away somewhere). I asked the same person who gave me the 10-minute warning, and she wasnt doing anything at the time. Her response: Ill help you just as soon as a I help some other people checking out. So I waited by the items I needed.Time passed. Someone gave the signal to lock the front door. The not-so-friendly cashier asked one of her co-workers if hed helped me, and he acted like it was the first hed heard of it (which is entirely possible).So he comes back toward me and I said hello. And this actually happens:Him: You said you only needed 10 minutes, and youre still here.Me: Ive been waiting for someone to help me ...Him: Uh-uh. Dont go blaming other people. Now lets find you what you need.He either has the most screwed-up sense of humor ever, or hes an absolute toad. I lean toward the latter.I wouldve walked out, but it was a pain in the butt for me to get there and I wanted to get my project started. So I bought a few items. All other purchases, though, will come directly from the manufacturer (Sculpt Nouveau). I will skip Industrial Metal Supply and its awful employees. That sucks, because I prefer to support local businesses. But I cant see handing another dollar to these people.
