The everything bagel w/vegetable cream cheese is a 10/10. Chunks of cucumber & carrots etc in cream cheese is phenomenal. I’m addicted. He doesn’t do online or phone orders as he is into serving locals who stand in line. His credit card machine was down one day & everybody got free bagels. Ive been here ~10x in past 3 months and have seen nothing but hospitality among customers & owner. Lots of repeat customers & always a line. I go EARLY before 7am workday. I’d like to try more bagels/spreads but currently unable due to my full addiction to the everything bagel.

Wife and I stopped in this morning for the first time. Wish we would have tried this sooner. Great bagels. Lox was delicious. Will definitely recommend.

Im done! I love his bagels, but the last 6 times I visited theres a long wait or hes out of everything. This morning at 9:30 hes out of everything. I guess I should have called first. He also is closed on Saturday and Sunday. A bagel shop closed on the weekend! Hey Im glad he can do whatever he wants and still stay in business. Good for him. The bagels are amazing - and huge. The closest I’ve had to the big boiled ones you get back in New York. A fave for our whole family. From everything to salt to cheese - you can’t go wrong. Just get there early and grab them to go. There’s usually a line.

So disappointing. Bagels were very chewy and doughy. Toasted obviously doesn’t mean toasted here. Do these places not own a toaster? Not an authentic NY bagel whatsoever.The lox spread wasn’t lox spread at all but rather a clever way to charge for something the customer won’t be getting. A lox spread is lox (aka smoked salmon) that is completely mixed (similar to a purée where the two ingredients are completely blended) so it looks like orange cream cheese and tastes like lox.What they did instead was add a few diced pieces of lox into an abundance of plain cream cheese. See photos.Blueberry bagel was lame. Seemed burnt ironically but not toasted as requested. Strawberry cream cheese was flavorful but runny not creamy. Not much blueberry flavor.Staff member was wearing her surgical mask over her mouth only. Big no-no. Not friendly, more like a robot.Atmosphere is blah and looks like it has seen better days but appreciate they have one door for an entrance and another for the exit. Menu board is easy to read.Waste of money. Literally spit out most of it. No comparison to a NY bagel and those who thinks otherwise obviously didn’t grow up there. I mean look at which bagels sell out first: asiago and jalapeno. No New Yorker would order those flavors, those are for the people who are from AZ and don’t know any better. Ive been frequenting The Bagel Man since they opened their doors in 2010. They provide great customer service and always serve high quality, excellent food. Its real nice having a real a taste of home here, being a native New Yorker from Queens living in Phoenix. I usually have breakfast, but love their lunch selections as well.In the pandemic its good idea to call ahead as hours have changed due to the owner caring about his employees and the community.

I stopped by this place on a whim a few years ago and was blown away by how delicious these bagels are! They are large and soft on the inside with the smooth, chewy surface of a really well made bagel. Every time I go, there is such a great atmosphere. The owner and the staff seem to have a really great relationship.Last time I went, a native New Yorker was standing in line behind me and was telling me how these bagels give NY bagels a serious run for their money. They also take appropriate social distancing measures which is an added plus.I read the 2 star review on here and I’m just shocked that anyone could leave such a poor review. It took me four attempts before I was finally able to score some bagels! Go early or be disappointed. Grew up eating bagels in NY, Jersey, and CT, these are easily the best bagels in Arizona.

Absolute Gem. To begin with, bagels are bigger in size than your usual ones. If you get a flavoured/specialty bagel youll notice that flavours are so bold. No skimpyness there. Plus, the smears all packed with flavours too. Its such a delicious breakfast. Yes there is waiting time and lines may extend even outside the shop. But that happens here for a reason!! They usually sell out around 10/10:30am even though the timings say open till noon.

Ahwatukee is a lucky city to have The Bagel Man. Offering a large deflection of bagel sandwiches and bagel options. Spreads cream cheese and sides are available by weight. Look for the line at the Phoenix Elliot location by EOS gym. Get the New York feel as you enter the location. The smell is so awesome with fresh baked bagels.

Just visiting town and was looking for a bagel place for breakfast. The Bagel Man was a little closer than Einstein Bagels, so gave it a try. Holy cow! Im going back tomorrow because these bagel sandwiches are amazing. To top it off the gentleman that owns the restaurant is a delight to speak with.

Called to make a to-go order; someone picked up and hung up? Called back and recording picked up; no phone or online orders? Earlier this month I drove 15 minutes to find them closing up before the end of operating hours. The owner rudely declined to sell salmon smear (behind the glass) and told me to be there by 8 am for a better CHANCE next time? Not pandemic-friendly at all! My advice; YouTube the recipe, order quality bagels and make it yourself!

Bagels are great but the service that I received was absolutely horrible. The person in front of me handed a list on paper to the workers and they were fine with it as soon as I get up there I say I also have a list and show my phone to one worker and is like okay and starts reading( I have severe social anxiety, and the place is packed with a line going outside) the other worker walks up and raises his voice at me saying I am not allowed to do that and that I must say it so that triggered me so bad I almost walked cause of the amount of people there but my mom loves the place so I still ordered bagels were still great. It feels like a double standard especially because COVID you don’t have to touch my phone but have no problem touching the paper possible from someone’s job with plenty of other peoples hands

After reading the New Times review we decided to grab a bagel at The Bagel Man. The bagels are huge, chewy & they have Salt which is my favorite. The husband had Cinnamon Raisin with regular cream cheese. He liked it as well. Also they have lots of different cream cheeses. We will be back.

This place has, by far, the best bagels in the Phoenix area. My go to favorite is bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel. However, these bagels are a great beginning to any sandwich you might want. Call, the owner, sees to it that everyone is taken care of in a timely and efficient manner. Seating inside is very limited but some outside tables take up some of the slack in decent weather.

Great bagels... if you can get one.I moved here at the beginning of the year and sought out my must-have bagels. I found this place through online recommendations and tried it out. I didnt mind the 30-60 minute wait that accompanies any trip here on a weekend and while I was consistently disappointed that they rarely had all of the bagels I wanted to order on any given day, I could understand. However two times in the past three months I have driven the 30 minutes it takes me to get here, during posted business hours, and found the shop to be closed. In spite of the tasty bagels, Im no longer rolling the dice on when this guy decides he wants to open or close. Oh, and dont bother calling to see, they dont seem to answer their phone either way.If you want a great bagel in the East Valley head to The Nosh Cafe or take yourself to the West Valley and get a superior bagel at Hot Bagels & Deli.

Been there once. So impressed about the bagels. They offer so many types of bagel and home made spread. The bagel is so big and I’m glad they cut it in half. I can only finish half of it. Best bagel shop in the east valley!! Quite possibly the greater phoenix area and even in all of Arizona (maybe even in all the SW USA). I havent tried them all but Bagel Man is amazing. Authentic bagels boiled and then baked, you can watch new bagels being made as you order/eat. This is a small, quaint spot but they seem to be really on top of having enough bagels to serve everyone throughout the morning and early afternoon. Lines can get a bit long sometimes, but never an excessive wait. The bagels plain are amazing and they have a variety of cream cheese spreads. Ive had many different breakfast bagels with egg variations along with their lunch bagels. Everything on the menu is amazing because their cream cheese is excellent and the bagels are so perfect. It is very very difficult for me not to order the classic everything lox bagel; my go-to and just sooo delicious. Everything bagel with generous cream cheese and lox complimented with tomato, red onion, and lots of capers! These guys are the best!! On top of all that flavor I mentioned, the folks working here are more than friendly. I love going here!!

The real deal. Best bagels Ive had in AZ ... reminds me of the kind of bagels Ive only tasted in Chicago or New York. Went on a Saturday morning at 10am... there was a line out the door. Worth the wait. And the lox plate is the genuine thing - generous serving of smoked salmon heaped on top of a great bagel with a generous schmear of cream cheese, topped with slices of tomato and onion. Tasted terrific and good value.

Terrible place. People behind the counter were extremely rude and the food was stale and cold. Not worth the price we paid, or the long line we stood in. I dont get the positive reviews as it was completely 180 compared to what we went through. On top of that, Ive tried several times to communicate with management to no avail. In my, and many others opinion, this is the best bagel shop around. The bagels are hot, crisp on the outside, and have a delicious chewy center. Their sandwiches are great, and they dont skimp on the ingredients. If you want a GREAT cup of coffee to start your day you cant go wrong here.

First time. Selection of bagels down to about 5! A breakfast sandwich and Coke, over $7. Egg bagel was crusty and not soft! Flavor of the egg, cheese and bacon sandwich was bland. Staff was friendly! Sorry, but Einstein Bagels, is far better. Probably, wont go back.

Ive been coming here since I moved into the area and let me tell you....It is amazing. It has everything a NY bagel place would have. I brought my dad here this weekend and he went straight home to tell his NY-Italian wife all about it. I go here numerous times a week. See you soon!
