Razor Emporium is a MUST for the Wet Shaving enthusiast! Whether you are just beginning or an expert, this is your one stop shop. They have everything you need no matter your budget. DJ was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about all their products. I especially appreciate her honesty with my order. I was willing to spend more money on my order, but she talked me out of it, because she didn’t think I needed it. For just this very fact along (however there are many), I will only buy from Razor Emporium in the future. She even through in some freebies, going above and beyond my customer service expectation. I am a raving fan of Razor Emporium and I know you will be also. Buy with confidence and know their customer service is second to none.Happy shaving!
If youre in the area and into quality shave gear, you MUST stop in. (or, order online..) DJ took time to hear what I was looking for, offered real world experience on the products and their performance, and helped me choose a new razor - went with a Parker Slant - when it was billed as efficient that hit the mark - mowed through 3 days of growth without hesitation. Also picked up a seasonal mystery box of goodies for fall - super psyched to check them out. Was so engaged in conversation I totally forgot to take photos!
Razor Emporiums storefront is easy to miss - give them a call if youre struggling to find them. If youre getting into double edge or straight razor wetshaving, this is a great place to start. Plenty of soaps, aftershaves, DE/SE razors, brushes, and whatever else you might want. I was happy to find a shop to visit in person! I picked up an aftershave I was running low on and an expensive soap I was hesitant to buy previously. The saleswoman gave me great discounts on both! She added 4 shave soap samples as well. Ill definitely make Razor Emporium one of my go-to shops. I live elsewhere, so their online ordering will come in handy!
Stopped by while visiting the area from California the day before Thanksgiving. Was looking for a razor kit and supplies that would be great for travel; small, light, and at a decent price. They hooked my up with a great razor, brush, blades, soap and balm for a great price. The soap and balm are their own brand made on site. Really looking forward to the wet shave experience on the road. Thank you. One happy customer.
I never, EVER post reviews, but in this case I really want to give credit where credit is due. I placed an online order a few months ago and received wonderful customer service from DJ when I called to request a change to my order. Then today I went to their brick and mortar store, as I was visiting family in the Phoenix area. DJ was again very helpful, going above and beyond in posting to an online wet-shaving forum a question I asked her and that was a general query, rather than a question specific to Razor Emporiums inventory. She then emailed me later in the day to advise of the responses received to the question in the forum.Awesome customer service on both occasions! I hope to visit the store again next time Im in town visiting family.
This is my go to store for anything wet shaving related. Staff is outstanding and they have one of the best selections in town for razors (vintage and new), brushes, shave creams and much, much more. You absolutely will not be disappointed once you step foot in here. Special thanks to DJ and Emily for being extra helpful and taking time to answer all my questions. Support local!!!!!
The staff here was super helpful and informative. They took their time with each customer to help them meet their specific needs, which I appreciated. Seems like a great store for both new and veteran shavers alike. The front door of the establishment is a little hard to see from the street, but otherwise I have nothing but good things to say about my visit! Will definitely be coming back again. Nice to have a brick and mortar store like this in the Valley.
Great shop! Plenty of offerings.DJ and co are super friendly and knowledgeable. All products are shelved as to allow you to smell the soaps/aftershaves/etc, hold the razors..Always good to stop into this homey spot.
I first visited The Razor Emporium over a year ago to get all I needed to just start out single blade shaving. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and supportive. And even helped select products based in my skin type. The woman was working on perfecting her recipe for handmade soaps at the time.Well its a year later, Ive revisited because I wanted to find a more bold, unique, mature razor. My Dovo Bismarck was great dont get me wrong, but I was ready to step it up. I found an absolutely lovely restored Wade & Butcher from 1890 and sweet baby Jesus it was worth every penny. To absolutely die for. And, I was very pleased to see they were selling the handmade soaps! And let me tell you guys dear lord does it go on like butter and the after shave balm!? Incredible. This is and forever will be one of my very favorite businesses in existence.
Great shop and fantastic online service. Stoked to get a vintage razor in brand new condition. I never thought I would ever see one of these again, especially in this condition.I first used one of them 40 years ago. Fast shipping and excellent tracking updates. Tracked from Arizona to New Zealand, hassle free. Highly recommend shop.
I was a bit skeptical about the whole “wet shave” craze my husband was going on about. I decided to go with him to the Razor Emporium, he was picking up some shave soap and a razor/brush stand. My skepticism quickly turned to curiosity.... Dj showed me around and explained all the different products answered all my question honestly. She gave me a great recommendation to get me started in the “wet shave” world without having to dive in and spend a too much! Razor Emporium is AMAZING, the staff is terrific and very knowledgeable, so many products to fit individual needs!! If you haven’t stopped by Razor Emporium I strongly suggest doing so, I promise you won’t be disappointed!!
An excellent a group to do business with. I have sent them countless razors to have refinished and their work its phenomenal. I sent in my fathers 1960s flare tip super speed to be refinished in gold and the results are stunning. Definitely worth the price. I recently sent a Gillette Aristocrat that I won on eBay to be refinished in rhodium and again, the results are spectacular. In addition to refinishing, their products are also top-notch. I recently purchased a strop for my straight razor from Razor Emporium and it is very high quality. I highly recommend this business!!!
Matt and his crew have always been fair with me and giving me all of the options available. Their first interest is doing what you want.I feel lucky that I live close if I need anything I just drive down and get it.
Just got their old school aftershave balm Love it! They also fixed my straight razor. One of my favorite companies!
Lets be clear, Ive gotten my shave soaps, brushes and a couple of blades from Razor Emporium and I WANT MORE! I happened to find time on a Saturday and decided to check if they were available. Utilizing their website I was able to confirm that they are open on Saturday from roughly 9AM to 4:30PM, I managed to get there just before 3PM and found that the ramp leading up to the entry door was not there anymore. I havent been to the location in sometime, instructions on the website directed me to a door with their suite number on the exterior of the building accessible via the south parking area. Finding the door locked and no response to knocking, a USPS worker was kind enough to show me the entry door from within the property (attached picture herein), he knocked repeatedly and still no answer. The help number indicated on the website is a recorded prompt message which eventually led to endless ringing. Whats going on Razor Emporium! I was quite excited about re-stocking on my prized tobacco scented shaving soap, but alas, it was not meant to be. Why the mixed signals dudes!?
Just got a restored 1912 gillette single ring from this company and you couldnt tell it was 108 years old. Smoothest closest shave I ever had.
Easy online order, picked it up a few hours later and super chill, helpful staff. BRAVO. I will be back!
Ive never been in the store I wish I was fortunate enough to live closer, I have however made several online purchases now. The products that they make themselves are AMAZING. I use thier soaps, aftershaves and balms. All of which are better than ANYTHING you will find at the box stores.
Bought some small dollar stuff from RE. It shipped and delivered quickly, and quality exceeded what I expected for the price.I find Matts Youtube videos to be well done and informative.BTW, his Mama must have named him after my cat Matthew, aka Matt-the-Cat.
Amazing attention to detail. This is the only place I would even consider sending a razor of any importance to. I have purchased several items from them and have been very happy with them. I have also asked the owner Matt about razors outside of his shop and he was amazingly helpful. They really care about what they do.
Great service and was kept well informed.
I sent in 2 razors, one I was selling to razor emporium for $39 store credit, and one I sent to have a tune up service performed, which turned out wonderfully. Matt has been very friendly and he has a great staff, I owed Matt $3.75 on an order and he waived the fee. Great guys, great service, and theyve cleaned up their act significantly since most one-star worthy reviews. I will be using Razor emporium again in the future.
I just got my razor in. Its fabulous! These guys do an awesome job! 10/10 would recommend!
This place is awesome! Great people, great service, Great products. What else can you ask for! Get rid of those cheap cartridge shavers and go as a real shaver go see the people over here at Razor Emporium you will not regret it. I used to use cartridge razors and have switched to a safety razor and I will never go back.
Very friendly and helpful service. Was making my first purchase of a straight razor and the answered all my questions and gave me a kit that fits the needs of exactly what I was looking for. Theyre online videos are very helpful too.
Although I usually buy stuff online its so much nicer sometimes to actually take a look at all the different products in person.Just make sure when you get there you park around the back of the building to walk in.Google for whatever reason shows the front of the building.I also got set up with an account in case I just need to order something. If you are near downtown definitely stop in!
A great place to shop! Highly respected in the wet shaving community. The workmanship and products are top of the line.
I bought a Gillette Slim Adjustable K2 that was completely unusable and Razor Emporium restored it to better than original condition (in rhodium). It is one of my favorite razors now. Well done Razor Emporium!!! And thank you!!
Razor Emporium is a quality establishment. I dropped off my Pils razor for a tune-up, and the customer service was fantastic from the start! They answered all of my questions without hesitation, and the communication from start to finish was stellar. Picking up my razor was quite surprising, as I was expecting them to simply hand me my razor. The presentation was phenomenal! My razor was packaged in a brown bag with their logo, had my invoice, service warranty card with inspector (Matt) and packagers (Ashley) signature, a cleaning cloth, and to top it off, gift paper! What attention to detail. Will definitely be bringing back other razors and recommending them to family/friends.
Quality work, honest prices, and unbeatable customer service.
Had a 1961 Gillette Fatboy redone by this folks. Yes, it took a few weeks, but the quality is outstanding and the communication was excellent! I highly recommend Razor Emporium and I am planning to use them to get my 1964 Slim Adjustable done by them very soon!
Fellow Shavers - if you have ANY concern that RazorEmporium is anything but par excellence in revamping, repairing, and bringing your treasured razor back to factory mint museum condition. Put your mind at rest and give them your business. You WILL be glad you did. I found a well used tarnished Gillette red tip dated 1956 in a Church sale for 75 cents. Paint worn off, tarnished, but it worked and shaved like a dream. I wanted it refurbished and revamped and it came back to me as a museum piece as if it just came off the Gillette line. Their craftsmanship is without equal. Im a Gillette man and they just gained a new customer for life! Give them a try - youll be glad you did!!!!
I would give 5 stars if they were open more hours during the weekend. Whos closed on Sunday? Most people work on weekdays and dont want to hop by the Razor Emporium after work.
Great group of guys there. Get my razors and shave soap from there. Just wish they did not move downtown. They were right down the road from me when they were on Peoria east of I-17 :(
Quality restoration at a good price. Knowledgable expertise on razors and how they work. Always great talking with Matt or Marissa on the phone. Great vibes In the store.
Best company for vintage and restored razors. Knowledgeable staff, and great shipping.
The first time i went the website said they were open, after driving from mesa i find i have to go through the building. Well long story short all exterior doors were closed and locked. The second time i went i was excited. It was a weekday and well within there open schedule. I finally made it inside the building but had to ask someone where the door was! They pointed me in the right direction but once again the blue door was closed and locked. So fustrating. I still need to have my straight razor rehoned. Razor imporium, ive seen your youtube videos and was excited to see you products and meet Matt in person, but i think i need to see someone else to take care of my straight razor!
Great service and friendly staff. Difficult to walk in but if you give them a call the staff will walk out and get you.
I send my 59 Fatboy for a tune-up service and to be completely honest it was not what I was expecting to be!! The process took like 9 days not 3 or 5 like they claim and then when finally my Fatboy arrived I was even more disappointed I didnt see any improvements in my razor than repainted number and lubrication!! The razor was dirty and not polished at all.!!! I had to cleaned again because they send my razor with some weird yellow stains that looks like some kind if paste!! And finally my razor came in packed very poorly, not in a fancy box with the Razor Emporium logo like of those folks that make reviews on YouTube to share Razor Emporiums tune-up service experiences!!! I think I need to make videos on YouTube or be a blogger to have a better service!!
Made the jump from a club razor to straight razor shaving. Picked up their Most Recommended kit and some really awesome Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements aftersave CAD that I and my Wife both enjoy and a stache wax and comb.Great customer service! Not that I care about tissue paper wrapped items, but they were and it was a nice touch. For those that are looking to make the jump I can say Im very happy with their offerings and service. If youre a craftsman kind of person you might want to know this is not just a product retailer. They do repair, reconditioning, revamping work and you have full view of the workshop. To me this is an important aspect and, for me anyway, sets them apart from regular retailer.
Great service, very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about his products. Would shop again in the future
I have been a wet shaver for a few years now, and have several modern double-edge safety razors, from very inexpensive to very nice German-made tools of art. I wanted to treat myself to a pair of vintage razors, and several folks online steered me to Razor Emporium.I decided on a 1954 Gillette Super Speed (non-flare tip) in factory nickel, and a Made To Order Gillette Fatboy (requesting anything 1959) in Rhodium. Granted, the Fatboy was probably sporting a nickel finish those decades ago, but I figured if I was going to get a Cadillac of vintage razors I might as well do it with some panache. Now that Ive had a few days with them, I must remark on the two. The design, craftsmanship and materials of that by-gone era hearken to a much better philosophy compared to todays over-produced, instant-everything, disposable mess. Care and quality are apparent. So, too, is the care and detail given to the revamp services of Razor Emporium. And Razor Emporium was able to find a great 59 for me.Both razors are mechanically just as they should be. Everything is meticulously aligned and working. The care in the fit and finish, after all these years and who-knows what original condition, are a testament to the quality and pride of craftsmanship by Razor Emporium that are fading from todays marketplace. The replating is seriously something to behold and beautiful on both. The work they do stands tall of its own accord, but also gives a very strong salute to the original makers (men and women) rebuilding a world after the terrible second World War, with that same care and pride.Even with todays technology and computer-aided everything, I am struck by how wonderfully these razors of some six decades ago are made. Enjoyment of these joyous little artifacts would not be possible were it not for the efforts of everyone at Razor Emporium. Even more so is the attention and care given during the revamp process to make the second life of these tools (or, possibly third or more!) all they can be.So, thank you Razor Emporium for your efforts, your prompt replies to questions, and for providing the crown jewels of my razor den. Color me impressed.
Greatest vintage shaving kits anywhere!
Fantastic!
