Very good market. Small dining area with delicious food. Mesa location on Baseline is convenient if you usually shop in the East Valley. The restaurant at 20th St will reopen in November. Saloua talked to me while I shopped and then talked about their wonderful olives and feta cheeses. Best selection anywhere. Good prices. If I had a market I would want Saloua to talk with our customers.
Its a great store all around. I get all of my meats there and my Jazmine rice too. I love it.
First time visiting Phoenix, AZ, I found this market to be really good place to buy fresh meat, produce and Lisa bread. Many other good food items.
If you want authentic middle eastern food, come here! They have a restaurant inside, a deli with a variety of meats, and they even have a bakery! The food is also amazing, a variety of different foods to select from. The only find I have for the place is that the fruits arent always as fresh as you would like then to be; The vegetables are though. And that the restaurant is a bit pricey, but the food is worth it. Its delicious.
Cashier was helpful. Lot of items not priced.
Chicken and all the regular stuff is popular here, but I made the trip for some lamb. And next time for some goat (Ive bought goat at the farmers markets but you dont see it at most grocery stores). Before I go next time Im making a list of wants, because even though its small, the unusual choices are overwhelming. I lingered over all the desserts and cheeses and spices and meats. But I left with just one jar of roasted eggplant because I couldnt decide! Also stopped in the restaurant and had lamb kebabs (very soft - softer than filet often is!) and tabbouleh.
Many carts are damaged. No wipes to clean the carts. Some products are expired.
They have the red dye to color Greek eggs for Easter and the staff are super friendly and helpful.
Clean friendly people good prices on the types of meat they sale
This place has so much great stuff. Im going there again later today to pick up lavash bread and dolmas to send back east.Hands down, this place gets my vote. I was just in here yesterday to pick up eggplant to make homemade baba ganoush.
So many foods that I couldnt find in other stores and the staff are very nice.
First (and last) time at this one. Not nearly the selection as the one in Mesa, it was dark and dingy inside, not a single worker even acknowledge my existance, and not to mention some guy walking the aisles spraying who knows what all over everything from a ‘backpack’ type dispenser. I just got a weird vibe from this one. Ill drive 3 times the distance to the one in Mesa from now on!! That one is WAY better and employess are much friendlier!!
Better than northern location imo
You wont be disappointed in the menu and service. Next time Ill be back with my coworkers. The place has a good atmosphere.
They have good products, most of the workers are really friendly, until I decided to go to the dessert area, I don’t know much about Turkish desserts so I did not know if I was going to buy some, a man wearing makeup asked me if I needed help, I said no, because I didnt know if I was going to buy desserts. My daughter wanted to try turkish delights and I asked an employee in the dessert area for the sweets. I only heard a voice of this man wearing makeup say: thats why I asked you if you were going to want something in a really rude way. I’m not going to this store again, besides the chuchkhelas they sell taste too old. Too bad they have this person on their staff, everyone else was very nice.
GREAT CACHE OF MIDEAST SPICES, MEATS, VEGGIES N MORE, RESTAURANT INSIDE AUTHENTIC N TASTEE, YUMMO
Visited on sat i believe. definitely worth going back to. the place has a good atmosphere. reminds me of a restaurant in philadelphia that i enjoyed.
Good place to get halal meat
The service was very friendly and attentive. The place has an awesome atmosphere.
Visited on a Thursday. Service is typically good. Prices were fair for the quality of the food.
Visited Sat afternoon. The service was very friendly and attentive. The bill was fair for the quality of food.
Nice place to think about business. service is consistently above par. the place has a good feel to it.
Ive always enjoyed the hot food here. I love the meat pies!
Love this place
The service was very helpful and welcoming. food and atmosphere reminds me of kansas city.
Terrible customer service. Go to another market. Some of the meat looked discolored and not edible. The staff in the meat department were rude and wanted to give us the discolored bits.
I will be coming back to the butcher for my goat meat!
It is one stop shop for all my food needs. Quality meat and quality products are speciality of this place
I went into the store this morning took a number. I see that the butcher is wearing gloves and he’s cleaning and working going into the freezer with boxes of food. Once he saw me I kindly asked him if he can change his gloves. When I noticed him going for the meat that I ordered. Then I heard a loud voice coming from the deli it appear to be a man wearing heavy make up. Yelling at me telling me I complain every time I come here. I replied as a customer I have the right to ask you kindly change your gloves. Do to the high risk of COVID-19 in Arizona please keep an eye on your food this place is dangerous!!! I reported It! The female manager and she was so rude to me too.
Great prices and a wide selection of Middle Eastern ingredients and spices! The fresh pita is amazing!
Everything is over priced! I just bought couple things for breakfast and paid $89. Your better off just going out for breakfast at a 5 star restaurant honestly.
Some of the best food in az
Alan The Butcher was Great hes si really good and respetful
Everyone is extremely friendly and the food is fantastic!
Best meat and bread. love the food too
Delicious Butcher in back. Fresh beef, chicken, lamb. Small restaurant inside yummy . Fresh produce. Friendly staff. Assortment of spices, rice is, pickled things. Small frozen food section. Been going here for 3 years. Love it!Recommend
I just had an argument with this store by trying to return an outdated item. They refused to return at first, but then one of the owners I think did accept the return. They are selling items that are past due in their best by dates. However, there was no note at the location where I found the item. I definitely prefer the Mesa location. Employees at the Phoenix location are so rude!
I am middle eastern, and Im telling you, you will find anything you need here, and not just one brand of the product, but at least a few different brands to choose from. The bakery and deli are fantastic, fresh, and made with love.It helps that the staff are also extremely helpful and kind.
I love going to Baiz. I travel about an hour from my house to get there but its worth it. I find something new to love any time I go. I definitely suggest trying literally anything from the bakery because you will not be disappointed. Great spot for all of your hookah needs as well.
Disagree its dirty nasty bad service and over charge
Staffing so unprofessional,Big disappointment . They don’t know the definition of customer service. Talk back disrespectfully after I asked a simple question.Making fun of customer assuming We don’t understand Arabic . That is so pity
Great lil market with lots of fresh Halal meats, fresh veggies and other Middle Eastern snacks
First time ever going there, does selection was great and the meat or fresh
Great selection of middle eastern food and groceries. The best in all of Arizona
Not bad store
Good selection for price
I love walking in this place because of the smell of herbs and spices and meat cooking in the background. They have a beef spicy hot link that I cannot find anywhere else in the city . And of course it is halal. It is well worth the drive from wherever I am in the city.
This market is the best! They got a complete selection of goods. I was looking for some fruits because Id be visiting my Aunt who was in the hospital and give her some fresh fruits and veggies. They got new and affordable selections which is definitely a plus. Two thumbs up!
I dont like they cut they hours. Before they were open until 9 pm then, they changed it to 8 pm now its shorter.
Meat dept is Amazing with a wide variety of choices and cut to chose choose from. They have a really nice selection of kabob stainless steel skewer in the front of the store.
Cool selection of middle eastern foods
This is the BEST place in the whole Phoenix! awesome! the quality of the food is really high! the best hummus ever! vegans this is THE PLACE! try the veggie combo .... goes beyond than delicious! :)
This is our one-stop clean shop for all our ethnic grocery needs. They have very good selection of cut meats and fresh vegetables and fruits. To top it, there is also a restaurant in-house serving mouth-watering middle-eastern food. Dont miss the dessert section at the restaurant. Staff is also welcoming.
Great place to shop if you can find parking. Frequently the lot is full. There are great prices on meat, olives, and cheeses. The vegetable selection is not huge, but is fair and they all taste like fruits and vegetables--a nice change from other local super markets.
I’ve been going to Baiz Market for 20 years. The market has a hot food ‘restaurant’ in it. I don’t know whether the restaurant is owned by Baiz or perhaps the space is sublet. I’ve seen a number of people run this restaurant over the years. The current team doesn’t seem to care about customers at all. Today was not the first disappointing experience I’ve had with them. Ordered two shawarma plates (1 chicken and 1 beef) and a pound of garlic dip. Got two sandwiches and a pound of hummus. The cashier could not have cared less. The market is still great. Just avoid the haters running the restaurant section.
Baiz is a true Middle Eastern market that offers a wide variety of products. The meat department selections are fresh. The vegetables and fruits department is always well stocked. The bathrooms are always spotless clean. The food at the restaurant always tastes great and it’s made fresh to order.
Food court is horrible.. ordered shawerma plate .. meat was old and dry.. asked to no onions . Got onions.. rice had no taste .. contrary to the mesa location .. needs lots of improvement..
Delicious food, always super clean, kind staff and amazing place
I ask the meat department to give me small cubes meat. When he finish it was not the size that I want it. I asked him if you can cut it again, the young guy who works there show me an attitude and he didnt want to do it . I told him if you want cut it any smaller than Im leaving. Start arguing me so I left. I want to a new store. who can do there job better. It was my favorite store until that guy ruined my experience. It was very convenient close to my house.
Every time I come to Dubai I stay at Raffles Dubai Hotel. It has everything I need, with nice and comforting amenities, comprehensive facilities, central location, shopping and dining varieties just next door to my hotel room. Nothing more convenient like this. Above all is the welcoming smile and charming personality of all staff in the hotel
Baiz market in Phoenix and Mesa both are very good place to buy halal meat. I really like this place to buy meat and chicken and Mediterranean spices and Indian spices and rice items. They do have a restaurant inside which has good selection of Mediterranean dishes. They have good selection of beef, lamb, goat and chicken.
If you wanted to try food from Iraq, or refresh your memory from years back in force, all you need is to get here.... there are fresh dates, figs, lamb, all kinds of stuff. Really worth coming for lunch at least. It is a genuine taste and food is prepared by people from the region...
Al Hana Cafe inside Baiz Market is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is probably the most authentic in town (not that Pita Jungle wanna-be stuff). I highly recommend either the chicken or beef shawarma sandwich. You can also buy fresh pita bread there with the steam still in the bag as they make their own fresh daily. Most other middle-eastern restaurants order theirs from California.I wish they would open another closer to my house.
Good place to fulfill all your grocery needs. Anything you can imagine can be found here. I love this place.
I bought a big tray of Baklava for my office today. It was fresh and people loved it. Many of my co-workers asked me for the address. Keep it up!
Tied for best beef schwarma in the valley out of the places Ive been
Have only been here once, the people were very friendly, meat was reasonable, and later found to be really tender (lamb), the the Baklava is to die for, all the different flavors, Yum! Cant wait to come back and try the restaurant!!! I think I got lucky with parking, but it would be worth the wait. Great friendly place!
Great restaurant for reasonably priced authentic Mediterranean food. Best baklava. I remember coming here as a kid the staff here used to be ridiculously happy and freindly. Now I either get a slight smile from a couple employees and scowls or dismissive service from the rest. Oh politics.
Not the old store that I remember The people at the check stand where rude they took customers way ahead of me I had a $50 order and the people way behind me had a small order, store was dark, like that lights were turned down The pastry person was very rude to my wife Ill come back next year to see if things are different .The small meat pies and spinach pies were mostly dough with hardly any filling and the prices gone way up on them I guess times are changing its sad
Alhamdulilallah, nice and friendly.
Really yummy arabic food at the front, good selection of fresh and dry produce and extensive selection of meats. All around a great place to shop and grab a bite.
Over priced items the stuff are rude and unprofessional
Hit or miss experience at the restaurant. It’s close and seems fresh so we’ve been numerous times. Inconsistent quality usually. Bakery and baklava great! But tonight, I ordered dinner for my family. When I went to pick it up, they asked what I ordered. I told them, they read the ticket, they counted, I paid, I left. I got home and my kids’ food wasn’t in there. I called. They told me to COME BACK TOMORROW!! For my kids’ dinner! Nothing else they would do, just try to hang up on me so they could close. I paid for it but had to finish making dinner myself anyways.Like I said, normally a decent experience. What gets me is the dishonesty. TWO girls checked the boxes and the order before I left. I called as soon as I got home and the response was to come back tomorrow for my refund or my food. That’s shameful. Not acceptable from ANY restaurant, much less from one that seemingly exudes religious observance.
The food was over all okay. 6/10 as far as the chicken shawarma. The beef eh. As far as look it looked Greta looked put together and nice. But then we ordered the knafa and I’ve tasted many knafas in my life this has got to be the worse one yet. The cheese was HARD as a rock. When we asked to heat it up they said it’s already cheesy. I ended up giving it back and they tried giving us a refund but we didn’t even want it so we didn’t take it. Knafa 0/10. Over all place 5/10. Also they have mad workers for nothing they still took forever.
Been coming here for years for my grocery needs. Restaurant that’s onsite it is delicious.
I hardly ever review businesses, but Baiz Market deserves that I take a minute and give this family a HUGE CREDIT for all the hard work they do to provide us, the Muslim community, with HALAL Meats! Ive been in US for over 15 years and I had to almost become vegetarian because I always doubted about stores selling HALAL stuff until Baiz Market opened and Ive been shopping there since then. Im certain, but million percent sure that all meats at the store are HALAL! Ive not only seen pictures but also videos that shows how the owner himself is slaughtering the animals! I wish the owners can publicly post these pictures and videos! For those haters that are spreading false information about this place and the owners, please if you really care about meats being HALAL, be a real Muslim first, act like one, and wish your Muslim brother all the good. A real Muslim will never spread false rumors about his Muslim brother & will never hurt him! I just got my lamb Qurbani order today, with my name tag attached on it. it was very fresh and the butcher cut it and packaged it for me the way I wanted it to be! Cant be more happy or find any better than this! Be peaceful you people, and thank God that there is an honest place that can provide you with HALAL stuff!
Probably the best middle eastern/mediterranean market in the Phoenix area. The bistro is great if you want to grab a quick lunch or even have them prepare the food a party at home - I did it for 50+ people and everyone loved the ethnic dishes. I visit the store at least once a month for a variety of products ranging from yogurt, meat, humus, great veggies, etc.
This the Baiz in Mesa I’m referring towhy does Baiz hire all rude drop outs? The customer service at Baiz is the worst service I’ve ever encountered. You walk through the door you won’t get a “Hi welcome to Baiz” or even a simple smile. I feel like everyone is miserable and hates their job, especially the Restraunt and deli. Their prices are way too high, we are not in Cali! Their meat rots the next day after purchase. And the Restraunt is inconsistent, one day the food looks near fresh and other days I get hard dry double cooked pieces of chicken, I ordered 2 pounds of garlic sauce for a party I took it home opened it to put in a dish and it’s all watery, I took it back immediately and I asked for a fresh one and I was told “we are not responsible if the products spoil after leaving” “are you sure you didn’t leave it in your car ?” Like first of all I only live not even 5 minutes away literally right behind the school next to Baiz, Garlic sauce should not spoil from driving from the store to my house. I will never shop at Baiz, they have a policy the customer is never right. They will sell your family expired food and blame you for not checking the food before leaving. I hope the owner knows what kind of employees their management is hiring . You lost a customer I’m going to Princess market and deli where they actually make it right when they mess up your food !
Its so delicious.
Food taste great and all but the chicken shwarma is not cooked right and there are huge chunks of not cooked chicken
Rude people work here. If you are not an Arab they ignore you. Shouting at these folks to get their attention is not my idea of serving the public. 1 star for food prices but I want them investigated.
My favorite little market with just about everything. Plus, try out their restaurant. Just wish there was one on my end of town. I make the drive from the Cave Creek Rd and 101 area because of the quality of this market.
Good place for middle eastern food and grocery. They also cater to more of a halal food which entails no pork products. Beef, Goat, chicken at the butcher and fresh vegetables in the back and the prices are very good if compared to other big grocery stores, but you will not get everything there.I had to drop to 3 stars as the pita sandwiches are not the same as they made it. They are lacking in serious meat and vegetables. I just picked them up after covid. Not great at all and that was the main reason I went there ...for grocery and beef shawarma and now not!
First of all, this is a one of the few authentic middle eastern stores in Arizona. So thanks for that!!! However, even though They have some very good items, some are very overpriced or past expiration date. I wish I can buy their imported cheeses but for $8-12.00 that is too expensive. The bakery goods that I bought were not also not that fresh. I heard they are shipped from a bakery in Chicago. I normally just buy certain items- the teas, spices and olives. The owners need to get more fresh products like the Arab stores in Cali have.
Awesome Iraqi Sandwich like from the streets of Bagdad. 5 star snack. Try the hummus, it is the real thing. Ask them to heat bread before serving.
They have unique food items that you cant find any where else at a good price, also have a restaurant with great food
Fantastic place the fresh naan is the best. Large selection of meats and produce also. Restaurant inside as well which is good.
This place is amazing! Great prices on spices, a gorgeous meat selection, and a little dining area in front with a kitchen. Oh, and fresh baked stuff, and... Anyway, huge fan.
I ordered thyme w onions/tomatoes, shawarma. The best Mediterranean thyme I ever eaten. Cost affordable 1.75$ plus 4.99$ (shawarma). Good and fast customer service.
