I have been a long time customer at this location. I brought my son in 4 months ago for an eye exam and purchased glasses for him. He just decided he wants contacts as well. I called to get contacts for his prescription and was told no. I need to pay an additional $130 for a new eye exam with no insurance applied as we already used it just a few months ago. Instead of working with us and using common sense the staff was rude and unaccommodating. I will be taking my business to an organization that is more concerned with their patients than squeezing them out of more money.
Very disappointed. I explained the clerks that I had left my house without my wallet and with that been said I forgot my flexible spending account debit card. I beg them to please let me pay them when I will get home as no one was home to read the number out loud. I only have emergency cash in the car. I have been a customer of Visionworks since 2006. I am sorry but this is unacceptable that they can’t trust a loyal customer. I told them my husband is out of town and no one can read me the numbers of the debit card via telephone. The prescription was only $10 co payment. The matter of their lack of empathy for me not bringing my wallet threw me off. I was not a person that just walk through their doors to get an eye exam. I have been visiting Visionworks since 2006.
I absolutely loved my visit today, even referred my family right after visiting(who live in Surprise), i felt so welcome, by the staff and Dr. I have never gone to a place and been made to feel like what I was going through was alright. Eyesight is a big deal and can raise concerns for many and the Dr didn’t want you to stress. He made me aware of every and any concern he had, and explained everything, which I love!Was a little trouble inputting my insurance stuff cause it’s weird, but the staff was apologetic for the short weight times when they arose.Thank you to everyone working today! I was helped by every one of them. :)
They are still forcing masks and temperature checks etc..I am sorry but at this point and time I wasn’t willing to spend my money in that place and force our young kids to wear masks..we found a small boutique like store which had amazing service.
I absolutely love this place, I am treated with all out professionalism, my eye exam was perfect, my glasses were made within a week! I could not be happier! I purchase glasses at Visionworks once a year at this location and I will keep coming back!! Each and every one of the employees at the store are nothing but A1 Class!!Jeff
I buy over $1k in glasses six months into a prior prescription, bring one in for a lens repair (that I was perfectly willing to pay for) six months later, and they tell me I need another exam. HEY: DON’T SELL SEVERAL PAIRS OF GLASSES TO SOMEONE SIX MONTHS INTO A PRESCRIPTION AND REQUIRE ANOTHER EXAM TO SIMPLY REPAIR SIX MONTH OLD GLASSES. Infuriating. Never again.
Freddy and all the staff are amazing. I am happy with my glasses. This location is way better than others. Freddy promised I will get the original lenses and I did.

I’ve been visiting this location for my eyewear needs for many, many years. Marv and Pam have since retired, but there are several new staff members with an excellent eye for style. I always have trouble picking what looks best for my face shape yet they seem to choose just the right style frames! David Schanes and the other eye doctors here at Visionworks are a pleasure to work with as well. I highly recommend Visionworks for all your eyewear needs.
So far their customer service is awful. 31 minutes on the phone waiting for a ‘hello’. Just stupid elevator music and every 30 seconds telling me I can go to the website.If I hadn’t started here I would not come back!I’ve been back to vision works a few times since my review.They have earned me as a customer.Better, much better service and the quality of the glasses are acceptable or better then that.
Dr. Schanes was a delight to talk to during my examination. My wait time was a little long (I think they might have been a little behind on schedule), but once I was seen, everything went very smoothly. I received my prescription immediately and was very happy with the service.

The employee was helpful, but prices are high. I can’t get ahold of anyone about my order through the store or customer service number! Reallyfrustrated that I picked this company when there are so many good ones out there. Only giving two stars because the man that helped me in store was nice.
The WORST customer service ever, went in for an appointment, couldn’t find my name and DID NOT want to help, gave me a 800 number that rang for a half hour, just to have someone answer it and tell me they can’t help, How they stay in business, who knows 👎
I was told to come 15 minutes before my appointment just to sit in the waiting area for almost 45 minutes. At the end of my appointment, the check out girl wanted to charge me full price after telling her I had insurance. She checked her system, changed her mind, and said she should be charging me less. The check in and check out process is whack. They made me waste an hour of my Saturday in the waiting room, tried to take more of my money than they should, and then never told me the next step on when to pick up my contacts I just ordered. Horrible experience.Update: owner replied to this comment stating they would look into this. One week goes by and still no update after I followed the owner’s steps about sending my email..Business customer service follows after the company’s owner..
I fell yesterday and bent the right bow and frame of my titanium glasses. I drove to the store and noticed on the door a sign, by appointment only. I called the store and Mari (General Manager) answered. She immediately came out to my car, masked and protective robe, took my glasses into the store, adjusted the frames and brought them back out. I tried them on, and they were perfect. Mari was professional, friendly and efficient. Talk about going the extra distance during the Corvid-19 Pandemic. I have used this Visionworks location for years, and have always had prompt, professional service. Good prices as well.
Horrible serviceThe place looked unsanitary and the lady doing the pre exams did not even wipe the equipment off entirely. I was nauseated by the look and situation and she spoke loudly and said since I was exhibiting sickness I needed to reschedule for two weeks out.
I really appreciated the COVID-19safety precautions they have in place. Liz was super helpful in getting my glasses ordered.
I was taken advantage of by this company. After they received my payment for the eye exam and authorization to bill my insurance carrier, they immediately cut off the rest of my appointment preventing me from placing my order for contact lenses.I went in for my scheduled appointment on 12/8/2020 at 530pm (arrived at 520pm) and went through the vision exam. The assistant immediately provided me with an invoice for the exam. I told her I was going to order contacts and would pay for them together. She said I had to pay separately, which seemed odd to me, since I have always paid Lens Crafters in one payment for both the exam and lenses. She insisted I pay her separately, so I did. Then, I was immediately approached by another employee, Leslie, who told me they were not going to be able to process the rest of my appointment since it was too late in the day. I then asked, Why did you make my appointment at 530pm if you were not going to be able to accommodate it?Leslie then said she can take down my credit card information for my lenses order, however, would not be able to process it until she spoke with the optometrist, who was not going to be in for 2 more days. I did not understand why she had to speak with the optometrist, since everything was documented in my file. I told her I did not feel comfortable with giving her my credit card information and would wait till she spoke with the optometrist, since that was my only other option. Leslie said she would call me back in 2 days. It has been a week and I have not heard from Leslie or anyone at Visionworks. I made several attempts to contact them and have not been able to get through to anyone there. After waiting on hold for over 30 minutes, a Visionworks Customer Service Agent picked up the phone, then disconnected me when I asked her who I was speaking with. At this point, I am writing to the BBB, VSP Global, and American Optometric Association to file a complaint.

Horrible experience. Was referred out to a specialist for an emergency visit and they never faxed my records to the specialist. How do you refer a patient and not send over pertinent info? The Surprise, AZ store also failed to respond for the request to fax records over. The databases between the stores are not shared so if you go to one for years and then move, the new one will not have access to your recirds.
Rude! Very uninformative for a first eye exam. Front desk was unfriendly, doctor unfriendly, no explanation of prescription and so forth. Honestly, don’t waste your time with this place.
Dont go here for contacts!! Terrible experience, they have 4 people up front selling glasses and one doctor and one assistant (Tracey) in the back for contacts who is totally frazzled and incompetent. I had 3 days of contacts left when I went in on 9/24 and told them that, expecting as vision clinics always have that they could provide samples to cover me if they dont have my contacts in stock, and they assured me they would as well. However, they did not even have any samples to give me but assured me that the contacts would be there by Friday 9/27 if they called them in that day (Tuesday). They called back that night to say that they werent able to get a hold of them, but they would call first thing the next morning and they would be there by Saturday 9/28.Saturday came and went with no call from the clinic. On Sunday I called again, and was told the contact office was closed until Monday. Monday 9/30 I called and spoke to Tracey again, she apologized profusely and assured me that she would look into the matter and call me back within an hour (she was very adamant about this, it would probably be less than an hour, but no more!). She never called back. Tuesday 10/1 I called again and was now told the contacts were backordered and would be here Friday 10/4. At this point I became frustrated and said I could not wait that long, I had been out of contacts now for several days! I said at this point I could have ordered from Costco or 1-800-Contacts and had the contacts by now. She said I should just cancel the order and order elsewhere, but then told me if I did that since they already billed my insurance it would take 45-60 days for the insurance company to refund my money and the benefits to be available for use again. So now I am very frustrated that she has trapped me and tell her so, and she continues to rant on and on about how overworked she is and shes only one person and how she cant be responsible for the suppliers, and on and on with excuses. I did not accept this, I told her you promised you would call me Saturday, she didnt, she promised she would call within an hour yesterday, she didnt, and I told her I didnt have any contacts left. I told her to call other Visionworks stores and find some contacts for me TODAY. She acts as if this was her idea all along and if I would just let her DO HER JOB she would fix this for me.Still waiting....called Costco, and they have my prescription in stock. Who knows if I will get my contacts or not from them, but I will NEVER go here again.
I purchased some eye glasses during the pandemic and had a very pleasant experience. They were cautious with everything and I didnt feel rushed. My eye glasses came out fabulous in a timely manner!
I was the last patient of the day and arrived early. Tracy was unable to verify my insurance but together we were able to get the authorization from the insurance and get my exam done. Tracy and Dr. Fierro were very patient and stayed until my exam was completed and I was able to get my contacts. Tracy explained my benefits and was very knowledgeable. They could have said I needed to reschedule but they put the needs of the patient 1st. Very well done!!
I absolutely loved coming here! The new general manager was extremely helpful, the doctor was very knowledgeable and his staff explained my insurance benefits in a way that made me understand it clearly. Will definitely be coming back forth future exams.
Eye doctor was fantastic. My vision is very bad and i normally have a hard time with eye examinations. He was wonderful. He took his time and allow me to be able to get a complete eye exam with out the normal anexity i get.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful. But my review is about Tracy. I had two appointments and each time as I waited my turn, I observed how not only kind Tracy is, but she goes above and beyond to help the patients feel comfortable.Also my husband had problems with one pair of his glasses and Visionworks took care of him and made things right. 🙂👍
Does not answer their phones. Touching base with someone is a nightmare (keep calling and automatically directed to corporate. Not interested in talking to corporate). Will be switching eye-care providers.
I’ve been a customer for about 10 years and have loved it. I know I could have ordered contacts online for less money, but the few service reps in the front who have been there since I first became a customer we’re so good I didn’t care what I paid for the contacts. They would always welcome me by name when I walked in, asked me about my kids (bc I brought my girls in once to pick up glasses) and would ask me about my work (as they knew where I worked from my insurance on file.) Textbook Ritz Carlton service model, but they were replaced with a bunch of new reps who have a steep learning curve ahead of them. UPDATE: Came back and was happy to find Marv back and received amazing service from the new doc and his assistant.
I have been coming to this location for the past 5 years now. Marv, Pam, and the rest of the staff have been a pleasure. Marv has especially gone above and beyond to ensure I was taking care of with my glasses. Most recently, Marv and Pam were helpful in adjusting my glasses when I needed to adjust them for comfort. The little things kept making me come back. I highly recommend this location for your vision needs.
I had an awesome experience here! Mari was very welcoming and helpful throughout my journey for new glasses. The HD digital progressive lenses are really helpful with the wider field of vision on the bottom. Thanks for the advise on my glasses, I keep getting compliments!
Horrible experience by far the worst costumer service ever! The front desk girl has a horrible attitude as if she didnt want to work there. Horrible, do NOT go there! Also they up charge.
Completely incompetent and dismissive ICame in for an appointment almost 3 weeks ago and no one had reached out to me about my contacts when I called them today they said that no one had even placed an order for them now I have to wait even longer and my eyes are completely strained when I called them all they offered was a simple sorry . I will never come to this cheap place again
I went in for one pair of glasses and ended up walking out with 2 pair that I didnt need. I strongly suggest that you spend the extra money to get a good prescription so that one pair, not 3 or 4 does the job. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I recently had a similar experience. I was placed on hold for over half an hour and when Tracy answered the phone she was laughing with a co-worker and proceeded to call me by the wrong name. I have been getting my contacts and glasses here for the past few years and have never had an issue. I ordered my contacts three weeks ago and they have still not come. Not to mention they lost my original prescription. I am just disappointed in the service and lack of customer service (specifically Tracy). I am not one to leave reviews, but I believe people should be aware of this before they to go visionworks.11/5- So after three weeks of waiting for my contacts they finally came in the mail. Unfortunately they were the wrong power. I cannot express my frustration in words. Please think twice before you go here.
This was my first experience at this location. Mari, Tracy and Dr Fierro were very friendly and definitely knew their expertise. They explained every process and didnt make me feel rushed as I asked questions and picked out new glasses. Thank you Visionworks!
From Tracy in the doctors office to the wonderful associates on the sales floor, I could not have asked for a better experience. They were all knowledge, understood what I was looking for and got me in and out in no time.

Employees are rude and unhelpful as well as not knowledgeable. You’d think these women worked for the MVD or a government agency. Will NOT be coming back for my next contact exam that’s forsure.

Decided to try visionworks since they are owned by VSP. Will not go back. Just picked up my glasses and RX is terrible. Have had several issues ordering my contacts.
