I hate having to write a bad review, but this ACE Hardware needs to address their employee who is rude and just a mean person.I came in to return a part that I picked up from the front desk a week ago. The part did not work per my electrician. When I came in to return the part I was informed you cannot return this part they had signs posted everywhere about this. Well I for one did not go any further than the front desk when I had come in the week prior and I could not see any sign to that fact. I stated this and then then Terry the customer service rep just got such a snit going he was condescending and rude. He end up refunding my money but he had to keep saying nasty things while he did it. I told him there was no need to be so condescending and he just would not stop. He did give me a Have a nice day but another customer had approached by then and you could hear the tone change for that customer. I do think part of his issue was that I had mentioned I was sent here from Karistens which is at 32st and Shea. Funny enough when I called ACE at 32st and Shea they said they do not follow such policies and I can always return my item to them. Suffice it to say, If my local ACE doesnt have what I need, I will go to any other ACE then this one as I do not need to have someone like Terry treat me with such disdain and plain meanness
My only gripe is that the prices are higher than other (big box) hardware stores. But their selection is better, and if youre a member of their rewards program, you get monthly coupons that can help to offset that pricing difference. The post office and U-Haul on-site are convenient too. I suppose the best way I can put it is: you sacrifice some points in price in order to gain points in convenience. Ace has been my saving grace a few times when nobody else local had what I needed. And their sales are often as good - or better - than anywhere else in town
Drove across town because this was the only place I could find the sump I needed. My irrigation drain clogged and there was no fixing it. Plumber said to get a sump. Spent half a day chasing sump pumps. Found 1 in stock here that met my specs. Ordered online to hedge my bet at getting it and drove directly to the store. I walk in say nothing to anyone. Was approached and asked if I could be helped. I asked what aisle the sumps were on. Wasnt there. Started looking in nearby aisle and found it. Was approached again and told them my situation. Have a flooded patio, water rising to my doors and need pump fast. I asked if I could pick it myself and if they could assist with finding the correct hose size for the pump I purchased. Then around the corner comes a sort of heavyset guy, kind of balding, appears to be the manager, Terry maybe. The floor person I’m working with tells him to not worry about the pick that he will handle it because I was already there. This did not sit will Mr Manager Guy. He proceeds to complain that I have arrived early, complains about the number of people who have volunteered to help. And then proceeds to tell the floor staff to “teach me how it works” and goes through the “1, 2, 3 steps” of online ordering in an exceptionally condescending and agitated way. Like anyone older than 12 doesn’t know how online ordering works. I could tell the floor staff just wanted him to go away by their body language and reaction. If he is the manager he has no business in customer service and no business managing people. He was textbook case of how to create a toxic work environment. 2 stars for a nice store and the helpful, accommodating employees. -5 for the manager guy,
Great quick stop hardware store. Just big enough to have a broad selection but not so big that you cant find anything. Nicer place to visit compared to a Big Box. Staff always nice, helpful, available, and knowledgeable. They do a nice job with holiday decor as well.
Employees are so pleasant and easy to work with. So helpful. A+
💕 loved it, very well stocked and the people were very helpful. Was kind of like an old time hardware store visit. Not just a bunch of young kids putting their time in and not knowing anything about the products.
Very bad experience picking up a order that was ordered online. Jewels, was the manager I spoke with to resolve my issue with the products I recieved damaged and ripped open. I was told basically it was my fault for leaving the store without opening the bags to check the products before leaving the store and then he hung up on me. I would really appreciate it if I could get a response from upper management concerning this.
All five of these stars are for one single employee; she (sorry if Ive used the wrong pronoun) is like Eratosthenes of Arties Ace, the curator of the Library of Ace-lexandria*. She knows where everything is, knows how to use everything, has never cut a bad key for me (other employees cut bad keys CONSTANTLY), and so much more. Shes my hero. Im awful with names & Id probably dyslexia it up anyway, but I know that you guys know exactly who Im talking about. If she isnt the highest ranking and highest paid employee at Arties Ace, then Artie (real person? Idk) is just doing it wrong. Were it not for her, youd get three stars, just for having so much stock & a few other great employees.Regarding the store, pretty dope. If a big box store doesnt have it, Arties Ace usually does. In the off chance they dont stock what I need, the aforementioned Super-employee flies in and tells me exactly where I can go to find it. The experience at this store is just awesome.*(edit: it occurred to me that I should have instead said Hardwaratosthenes, Curator of the Library of Acelexandria. Fail.)
HORRIFIC customer service. If I could give zero stars I would! Looking for an item their website says I can order online and pick up and the “customer service” rep literally shrugged her shoulders and said what do you want me to do when they didn’t have it in store. When I told her her customer service was awful some other lady came out and started yelling about how rude I was for being upset with her behavior. Small businesses are struggling right now, but apparently this Ace Hardware can afford to run paying customers off??
I ran in and out to purchase sand paper. A sales women was helpful in pointing out where it was located. Mission accomplished quickly.
Very helpful staff. I really like this place.
I have been shopping at this store since I was a kid with my dad. I has always been my go to store over a big box store. Today I left the store completely dumbfounded over their actions. You literally sent my kids home crying. I tried to buy a tree that was priced on sale with a attached sign that says sold as is with decorations (Pic attached). After standing around waiting for help for quite some time we were told we couldn’t buy it for that price. We were told we would need to speak with management. The manager wouldn’t even come over to the buyer, we had to go to him. Once we got to him he was very rude and expressed it was just a gimmick to get us to buy the tree decorated and it would cost $1500 to buy it. I explained how they have it listed on the tree and there is no sign that states otherwise. This is completely false advertising. After noticing my family was upset, I tried asking if they had just the decorations for sale and instead of helping me he just said they are down that isle and in baskets and if we don’t like his help we can leave the store. I went back and looked didn’t but didn’t see anything than saw tears beginning down the kids cheeks. I just left my full basket, told kids to return their singing toys and than had to have a full talk about inconceivable people and how false advertising works on the way home. As of now we don’t have a tree and now don’t have time until the end of next week. I really hope Arties rectify’s this issue on the sales floor and internally with management so no one has this happen to them. I’m lost for words now, but if I don’t see a change I might consider further action. Please do what’s right Artie.
I felt compelled to write this review after dealing with the store manager of this location, Terry. Apparently, his teaching/coaching style is the bark orders at his team members rather than showing them how to best provide customer service. Clearly, he is in need of learning how to truly provide quality customer service and loyalty. I will not spend my money in this store as long as he is the manager and his behavior and lack of respect for his associates and customers is allowed.Terry is desperately in need of a teaching moment. Coaching and leadership is not about barking orders or bullying associates from behind a desk. The game of telephone was never a good one and expecting an associate to relay something to a customer rather than taking 30 steps out to provide even the most basic service is unacceptable.I left disgusted by his service and response then spent my $700 at a different Ace Hardware!!
Just dropped off pre-paid package to mail. Convenient but just one clerk.
4 stars because when I came in too pick up on line order, man told me I would need to wait abruptly, which was fine, but he just needed to hand me the tiny bag on the shelf which he quicky realized. I think he was stressed out, but the customers could feel it which is not good.
Only 3 STARS staff will ignore you and or be very rude if you do ask them something. They do have some good tools and prices though.
Quick to find your product and the line is quick as well.
Convenient place for home improvement type stuff. Always friendly and fun to talk to Arty.
Rude. No customer service at the front desk. The lady said YOU GO TO THE REGISTER.There are better ways of talking to people.
They usually have what I need, always friendly staff
This ACE is a bit of an over-priced clustered mess all around, BUT their spray paint selection is FIRE 🔥
Has everything you could possibly need from a hardware store including helpful staff.
This Ace is super friendly and very helpful. I was helped by Felicia today to find the correct breaker to replace a bad one. I didnt bring the bad one with me but from photos she was able to tell me that the one I was buying was the right one, and even got a second opinion from another employee to make sure I had what I needed. I was able to complete my repair easily because of her help. Excellent service, I love this store and the people working there!
Theyre great at helping you with any questions that you have ☺️
I do not have enough good things to say about this place! I’ve been using the USPS office in this location for years, but today I needed a new key fob and I came in for that. The guys at the Hub were wonderful and helpful, and even though they couldn’t get it figured out at first, they did their best and pointed me to Dani who worked with my car for almost 2 hours until I walked out with a new working Fob! They are great, patient and so so helpful!! Cannot recommend Dani, Eric(i think, I may have misremembered his name! and the rest of this staff enough!!
I come to this Ace Hardware location because it has a post office inside and its the closest USPS to my place. The people here are great. They love dogs at this location and I bring mine in all the time and the staff know who my dog is and give her treats.Very helpful staff and convenient that you dont need a vest for your dog if you choose to take them shopping with you here.
I walked up today a few minutes past close intending to just ask a quick question on my way home from work about the online ordering process and Covid protections. 3 words into my sentence Jocelyn, who wasnt wearing her mask, belted out Sorry, were closed! I attempted to restart my sentence just to be repeatedly interrupted. I asked her name and left without an answer.I have been here multiple times with only 1 instance someone attempting to help me, at the ammo counter. Dont waste your time here, go to one of the other independently owned franchise stores.
Great store! Nice, neat and well organized.
Great hardware store. Good prices and has most everything you need for repair. Always helpful. I really enjoy going here.
It was not Ace it was Smart n Final great experience
If you want personal service and a hardware store with that small town feel and big town supplies- this is it
Great place. Employees are always helpful and nice when Ive been there.
Great stock, inventory, selection. Plenty of people to help in the isles. No one to help a registers. Long wait long line. Guy infront of me grabbed a bag of nuts ate them put down his items and left.
Very knowledgeable staff friendly and helped me find some very specific tools... very large selection of all things including specialized tools was very pleased with the selection. Prices were retail but its what is expected from a brick-and-mortar store these days, you are paying retail to get good help and they have it there.
Great selection! Great service! Not like the big box stores!
Always fast service
Best ace in the valley. Just wish they were open 24/7 😅🤣🤣
The store has everything you want in a hardware store, plus great service
Please read all of the negative reviews before coming here; I wish I did. I purchased a traeger grill from here on a Thursday after seeing they had some in stock, and the grill was then delivered the following Saturday morning. When the grill was dropped off, I did not inspect as I had to leave, but the following morning I noticed the whole back side of the grill was dented in substantially, and the hooks on the bottom were bent as well. After calling the store and telling them this was unacceptable for a $1,300 grill, they agreed to send a worker to my house and replace with another new traeger and pick the first one up. After the worker noticed that I poured wood pellets into the hopper on the first grill, he called a lady named Andrea, and told her the grill was used. Andrea then called me, was extremely rude, and told me they would need both grills back and I would have to come in tomorrow morning and discuss with the manager on why I could not receive a new grill that I paid for and was not damaged. I was blamed for using the grill (which I didn’t) as well as damaging it on my own. The grill was only moved from their delivery driver and was clearly damaged in the truck during delivery. Andrea then proceeded to yell at me, make extremely rude comments, and make many threats. Andrea also mentioned the delivery driver was not certain what was going on and says “I’m not surprised he’s confused, he barely speaks any English”. You are a customer service associate at an Ace Hardware, know your role. I ended up telling the delivery driver he needed to leave my property and take the damaged Traeger back to Ace. For spending $1,300 not even three days ago, this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Andrea and a store manager whom I spoke with should not be working in a customer service or management position whatsoever. Do not go here and whatever you do, do not purchase a traeger or any grill from here. I will be calling Traeger and any upper management/executives necessary at ace and giving them details on the purchase experience at this Ace, and will not stop until Andrea and management is held accountable for how I was treated and management makes a change and realizes the customer is always the priority.UPDATE: Just plugged in the replacement grill, and the LCD display is completely pixelated and not working properly. The model number is also a previous model # that did not come with the pellet sensor which the model I purchase does come with. I am confident Andrea just replaced my damaged grill with the display model. This place is absolutely unbelievable. Can’t wait to talk to the GM in the morning.
Great place to get keys made...they work 100% of the time!!! Other places do not do a GREAT JOB!!!!
Its refreshing to shop at a locally owned business, the employees are friendly and you dont have to wait 10-15 minutes for someone to help you. They also have unique items you wont find in the bug box stores. This is the only place I have my keys duplicated at, not one time have I ever had to go back because the key didnt work.
Great finds here. Well stocked and friendly staff!!
My dad had to go here every weekend for projects around the house..this hardware store was his go to.. your greeted when you walk in..theyll help you find what you need help theyll walk back with you..they know product they are selling ..always friendly staff . If theres a ace hardware in the afterlife my dad is happy ..I still go to this place for my projects..unlike HD or LS..very helpful at this hardware
Good place. We had a toilet issue and Larry is the man that helped us. He is the man.
This ace hardware has almost anything you will need. So avoid the big box stores like Lowes and get it here
This ace always feels alot bigger than the others. Like the others, a friendly, knowledgeable staff member will help you find what you need and spend time working through the things you need to complete your project.
If you are looking for fasteners - screws, bolts, whatever - in every single size shape and color - this is the place. From microscopic to monstrous - they have it.
A little bit of everything. Great for the weekend warrior or pro in a pinch. Staff is very nice, store is exceptionally clean and well lit. I’m a Milwaukee tool user and it’s nice to have a place to purchase locally other than HD. My only hiccup is their hours but honestly I think it’s one of the reasons the staff are friendly. Nice to see employees who aren’t burned out.
Great oLocal place to grab anything for your at home project! Very helpful staff, clean and well organized. Has so many things from makings keys, food, tools, cleaning supplies, light bulbs, yeti coolers, gardening, pool supplies knickknack stuff. I love just to browse theres always something u will need!
I love this store. So much cool stuff
Great neighborhood hardware store. Knowledgeable staff.
Super friendly and very helpful. Had everything we needed. Thank you!
They have so much stuff here. If you cant find what your looking for, just ask the staff member. They are very helpful. And they also have buttons at the end of some of the aisle. And help should come.
They always have what Im looking for, and then some!
Per store employee - They have new hours and close everyday at 6pm. Wouldve been nice to know before I made the trip. Their website says 7pm.
A very good Ace. People are helpful and nice. The store is unusually hot, like very hot eveytime I go in there. Their Christmas decoration display is like a miniature city. Its very beautiful and worth the trip in and of itself. Prices are decent, got a good deal on LED twinkling Christmas lights. Got a post office there for shipping which is very convenient. They have boxes, tape to use and labels right there
For the best nut and bolt selection around I always come here. Every size in every grade possible. Thank you for that!
Friendly, knowledgeable staff, but packed to the gills and hard to navigate. But they make it easy with small carts.
Love this store, there are a few around here but the staff here are great and the have the most stock
What a great find. I have traveled all over the area for misc. nuts, bolts and hardware.Little did I know that this place has everything I could ever possibly need and its a few blocks from my house. Great store and great employees always ready to lend a hand if you need it.
Always find what i need.
Great staff fair prices
Beware most of their employees apparently have asthma or bronchitis. This means they aren’t wearing masks. Good on Ace for hiring so many people with weak respiratory systems. These folks probably wouldn’t be employed anywhere else.
Ace Hardware is my choice for all my needs. Today is a perfect example. I needed to repair one of my faucet handles and wasnt sure what I needed. A worker, name was Andy, not only helped but went beyond great service as he took my faucet handle in back and drilled out the hex screw and re-threaded it with a new one. This saved me from having to buy a new faucet. I know exceptional service as I was in retail over 46 years. Thank you Ace Hardware.
Had what I wanted, with smiles behind the masks.
If you need something its there and now tell you exactly where to find it
Great Location. The common perception is, hardware stores are more expensive than the big box home improvement store - this is not true with ACE. This store also has a much wider selection of less common small bits than the big guys. The best part is the superior customer service.
I bought a grill over the phone and Jules was incredible at helping advise me on my options AND I was able to get it delivered same day!!
So I walk in and everybody is just so helpful and then I go to look at the paint in this guy Jay is just so helpful to go all the way through answered all the questions I had help me with everything I needed and then I get to the register and the cashier Kim checks me out and shes just so friendly it was just a great experience I am definitely going to come back here
Awesome store!!
Staff was so friendly and helpful! I highly recommend!
Love it Customer service was absolutely great. Agent helped me with my packages and instructed me on how to save money. Agent was great and so funny loved her I will be using location instead of going to the post office. 😇😇😇
Didnt find what we wanted, but always helpfully Staff, friendly.
Always helpful people.
This is a fun place to shop. They have a large inventory. Went there to buy air filters for the AC/Heater.They always have my size in stock and the best price. Better than the big box hardware store.
I went to the post office inside ace and the girl at the counter with pink hair was super friendly and helpful. The service was fast and I was in and out without having to wait..she helped four customers in under just a few minutes. I was very happy not having to wait forever to mail out my packages. Ill go here for any post office needs I have in the future.
Always helpful
Love Ace hardware easy in easy out
Always a pleasure to shop at my favorite hardware store. Everything you need. Nothing you don’t. Friendly staff. Will be back.
Don’t take your USPS mail here they can’t help you.
Just a bit better than the box stores
Went to return a come-along that didn’t work. The clerk didn’t even ask why I was returning it. She said she needed to check with her manager. She comes back and says they can accept my return but there would be a 25% restocking fee. I say “for an item that doesn’t work”. She said, sorry I’m just the messenger and there is nothing I can do. Customer lost!!!
I like this hardware store. Plenty of staff to help you and they always have a great seasonal display with a lot of decorative items. 4th of July, Halloween, Xmas? Regardless of season, they are stocked. Four stars over five only for price point. They can be more expensive, but my time is worth money. When I dont want to fight Walmart or Home Depot I go here. Customer service is top notch.
Good store. They always have what Lowes never carries.
Love these guys and gals at Ace! So much better than going to Home Depot. The employees actually care about their customers and it shows. I go out of my way to come to this Ace.
Not a hardware guy but I needed to mail a letter and being a gen Z I didnt know what I was doing. I told the lady behind the counter and she was really helpful and walked me through the ancient process.
This hardware store is okay, and has many great aspects that I will mention later, but I prefer the location up on 32nd and Shea for the simple reason that this location overcrowds their aisles and walkways, and seems to be understaffed for the size. You can barely get one of their own carts through the aisles due to the islands of merchandise on display down the center of the pathway. It makes shopping inconvenient, especially when there is already low light. Sometimes it feels more like a tripping hazard than a store. And on that note, this store is fairly big, but Ive only seen a maximum of five to seven employees working throughout. But, keep in mind I tend to come in when its busier, so they may not have that big of a staffing problem. But, the store does have some really good aspects: they have an AMAZING help desk, the staff is friendly, and they have competitive pricing with other hardware stores. If youre just looking for a quick in and out trip, this is the place for you, but I personally wouldnt make a large shopping trip here.
Excellent service, helpful, informative, with a smile too! Any question, is welcomed- very nice as other hardware stores can make a female feel their knowledge is limited, (ex.-the clerk questioning item you have asked for).Store is clean & inventory plentiful. Easy free parking & convenient location. I now enjoy hardware stores!!
Found what we needed and service easily.
The staff is helpful. If I have questions, they have answers. Never too busy which I love.
I returned something and was unable to produce the receipt. The lady remembered serving me (22days earlier) and was able to locate it on the computer! I was able to Exchange it for the correct one.I also needed help to get my flash light working, a gentleman searched 3 different areas until he was able to find me the correct bulb! He also went above and beyond by fitting it AND placing the second bulb in a zip lock bag for me!!Extremely impressed with the service!!Many thx!!
You want an example of horrible customer service? Go to Arties Ace Hardware. Sold us an electric barbecue grill. While trying to grill steaks that very night, the barbecue tripped the circuit in our house, and the food, when it finally cooked, tasted like it was steamed. When we went to exchange the barbecue for a gas grill and explained what happened, the clerk immediately started blaming the wiring in our house, was unfriendly, unpleasant, unhelpful and the manager she brought over was the same. We forgot about exchanging the grill, returned it (after being charged a restocking fee), and went directly to Home Depot, where we found a great little barbecue and were treated like gold. I usually try to patronize locally owned businesses, but in this case, youre better off going to Home Depot or Lowes.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. I went to Home Depot and they told me to look online... What the heck, if I wanted to look online I would have done that. Not go to the store. The people at Ace were great. I will be back.
They almost always have what you need little more expensive but you can get it
I purchased a space heater that was supposed to allow for temperature control, allowing me to set a steady room temperature. It did not do that so I wanted to return it ( the day after ourchase). I was charged a 25% restocking fee for something that didnt work. I would hope they didnt restock something that didnt work according to the specs on the box. And I should not have paid a restocking fee. Ill never shop this store again
Great place for screws and bolts and hard to find stuff. Pay a little more for this capability but usually worth it.
