I like the way Russ Auto Care keeps in touch, without being intrusive through text message. They reach out with timely reminders as to the services your car needs. I like the convenience of leaving my vehicle at the business the night before, then picking up the following evening as I work long shifts. I pay via telephone on my credit card. They have been fair, in not charging for repairs beyond the scope of my prior approval. I intend to continue using this business in the future for both our family‘s vehicles.

This visit was for a pre-vacation general check-over. We have been going to Russ Auto for 15+ years and the service has always been honest, professional, courteous and reasonably priced. I have referred several people to them & they have had similar experiences.

Moved to Pittsburgh recently and had no idea where to take my car. Tried this place my car in to get inspected and needed a bunch of maintenance that was out of my price range (due to the amount I needed done, NOT due to them overpricing). They worked with me to get the essentials within my price range and told me everything else that would need done. Friendly people who try to help out as much as they can. Will definitely be going back.

Never been here before and the service was great, took my car next morning replaced my caliper because the previous one that was put on was done incorrectly and thus made me lose my brakes Russ Auto Care got me all squared away before the day was over. Thank you guys!!

This company has logged a Carfax service entry for my car.. I have never been to this facility nor do I understand how they got my cars information.This company has acted in a way that i feel is unethical ( falsely reporting service performed to Carfax). I would advise anyone going here to use caution..

April 9th, my Ford F150 was towed to Russ Auto Care after the engine was on the verge of overheating. They are an AAA approved service garage and were recommended to me. They were very busy. I explained that I was from the Buffalo NY area and needed to get back that day, if at all possible. They determined the water pump had to be replaced and that they would squeeze me in. 3 hours later, I was back on I 79 headed for home and everything was performing just fine. The price was very reasonable as well. It is so refreshing in this day and age to find such a professionally run business. Their integrity in is old school. After they looked at the vehicle they called me to let me know what was needed to keep my vehicle safe on the road. Great experience with Russ Auto Care. Got my car inspected by them last year. They were honest with their inspection and didn’t pressure me into making any unnecessary changes at all. They performed a 40 point check on my vehicle and gave me an itemized summary of what could tuned up and provided what they would charge for each item. Two months later and they texted me to check in and make sure everything was still running smoothly with my car. Couldn’t be more pleased. 10/10 would recommend

I recently took my car to Russ Auto for a chirping sound in my car. They immediately were able to identify the problem, and thoroughly explained it to me as well. I was also informed of some other issues with my car, but I was not pressured at all to have it fixed by them. Russ Auto only explained everything to me, with no pressure.They were good and honest every step of the way. In addition, they will give you a ride to and from your home while your car is being repaired. And you get a free cookie from Good Loven Cookie shop...so good!

I came in without an appointment to have my battery replaced. It was an emergency. I was accommodated and treated very well. Everyone was friendly and courteous and professional. I was on my way quickly and they even cut me a deal on labor since it was not a difficult job. Very pleased! I will be coming back in the future for service. I got a free cookie, too!

We have taken our older Honda to Russ Auto several times now and gotten great service at what seem to me to be fair prices. They are always friendly and provide a detailed quote before performing any work. The last time they were able to complete it within one day which was great. Car is there again right now (its an older car, you know) and our experience has been great so far.Update: We got a newer car and still very pleased with Russ Auto. My family & I were traveling through Pittsburgh when we started experiencing car trouble. It was late at night, on a weekend so we decided to stay in a hotel & have our car towed to Russ’s Auto Care. First thing Monday morning, they had our car looked at & had an estimate for us by 8:00am. The price was very reasonable & even after running into trouble with one part, they had one of their best men repair it, and didn’t raise the price on us. They drove all the way to the hotel to pick me up once the car was finished; despite it was further than the usual allotted miles. Everyone at Russ’s Auto is very friendly & helpful. My family & I feel they went above & beyond our expectations. It was a very stressful time during the COVID-19 shut down, & yet they were like lighted angels shining through the darkness. They remained joyful & positive. Although we were strangers, they treated us like we were family. I highly recommend Russ’s Auto Care. We live 18 hours away & our car hasn’t had an issue since. My car recently died one night. We had it towed to Russ Auto Care. We figured that it was the battery by the way it was acting. He put in a new battery and called and said it would be $180 for a battery, labor, and diagnostic test (Im not sure what he tested as it was pretty clearly the battery). So my husband and I were like Okay thats a little steep but fine. Then the guy called back and said oh its the alternator too and while I have stuff apart Im going to replace the serpentine belt and itll be $650. We were very taken aback at that pricing and were not expecting to pay so much. He had listed the parts out as $120 for a battery, $260 for an alternator, and $45 for the belt with the remainder of the total being labor and taxes. My husband and I are on a tight budget and werent expecting to pay a random $650 this month so he asked if there was any wiggle room to come down in the pricing. Russ said he could not replace the belt (it wasnt too cracked or worn according to him he was just going to replace it since the other stuff was being replaced which is fine) and that he could take 10% off the total bill which would bring it down to $520. We begrudgingly paid it and were on our way.Im mostly upset with Russ for what I feel is price gouging on the parts. A battery costs about $90-$100 so not too bad there. The alternator for a small Corolla like mine which is basically always a used, rebuilt one costs $120-$150 at most and hes charging $260 PLUS he gets a rebate for sending the core in. The serpentine belt sells for around $10-$15. I understand garages selling at a markup- maybe 30% over what they paid, but more than that is just gouging.Russ Auto is fairly close to my house and they couldve done the right thing by charging fair prices and wouldve made a customer for life, but instead they price gouge so they made the one time sale and well never be back.

To know your vehicle is well cared for and you are always treated fairly is a priceless experience. There are not enough stars to truly say how highly I recommend Randy and Scott.

We had a very good experience at Russ Auto Care. We needed new struts on our car. We took it to another mechanic first. The price seemed rather high, so we took the car to here. The service was excellent, they brought my wife into the back to show us exactly what was going on with the car. And, the price was nearly $400 cheaper than the other repair shop. This will be the only place we take our cars going forward.

I, of course, waited until last minute (or two days after last minute) to get my car inspected. I called late morning from work and asked if he could squeeze me in in the afternoon and he said sure. They got my car in, inspection and emissions, and got me on my way. So nice and friendly--would definitely send friends or family there. I had called jiffy lube first for prices and Russ cost about $20 cheaper for the same services. Support this local business!

Friendly, family run business. Accurate quotes before beginning any work; even offered me a ride home when they had to keep the car. Honest and fair work, fit me right in during a snow storm when I showed up without an appointment. I enjoyed giving them my business and will definitely return, I think Ive found my mechanic.

This place is great! I had a noise from my exhaust, and they fixed it right up. Randy was very thorough in explaining what was wrong (just a gasket thing), and did my inspection at the same time. Super knowledgeable and efficient. He then went over my future options and things to keep an eye on, with prices and explanation of what might happen or be affected. It was affordable and they worked with me. Great customer service and quality. I cant recommend them more, and after having tons of car problems over the years here in Pittsburgh and going to many different shops, I can say Ill never go anywhere else again.

Had my car towed here yesterday because it wouldnt start and desperately wanted it back in shape for the weekend. I got a call this morning that my starter was replaced and it was good to go!! I couldnt be more impressed from my first experience here.Randy was so helpful from the start, even calling to touch base with me about the issue and let me know how much itd cost to fix before taking any further action. He was 100% transparent from start to finish and even reviewed some recommended future services complete with thorough, easy-to-understand explanations and educational videos! I didnt feel talked down to or hassled like I have with mechanics in the past. Im glad I was able to find a go-to repair shop so close to home and with such great customer service! Id highly recommend!

I’m sure it was well meaning, but my state inspection was failed for bad brake pads and rotors. Feeling something was up as I had replaced them with quality parts about 40000 miles prior, I declined the what seemed like an overly expensive repair, paid the fee for having the team look my car over, and took it to another shop which passed my inspection without incident with no note of issues with the brakes and, apparently, rotors that measured within appropriate limits. Still not feeling fully comfortable about the rotor/brake pad situation, I took it to yet another shop that I was more familiar with out of state where, yet again, it was confirmed that I had a significant (~50%) amount of life left in my rotors and brake pads. Also, I was in bind a while back and unable to change my car oil myself so I took it to Russ and was charged what I feel like is an excessive amount for something as trivial as an oil change. As mentioned, nice folks but I personally haven’t had the best experiences there and there are plenty of other garages.

Their relationship with AAA gives you a little extra peace of mind, if you need it - but I trust them regardless. Theyve always been very fair with me, and that says a lot these days. Randy still took it in the bay and checked it out to see what exactly was going on with it and to give us an idea of how much it would cost. I was new to the area so I thought Id give it a shot, but I definitely wont be going back. I was in the process of replacing a rusted out, rear leaf spring bracket on my truck and ended up having to have this place finish the job. The part is easily accessible by laying underneath and nothing needs removed to gain access it it. The part itself is only attached by two large bolts, one of which I removed myself and the other I was unable to budge. When I dropped the vehicle off at this place I even provided the new part and two new bolts, so literally all the guy had to do was remove one bolt and put two new bolts in. What did he charge for this you ask? OVER TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS!!! Yep, 200 dollars for something that took him roughly 20 minutes. Definitely not a way to gain a new customer.

Came from out of town for a visit. Car started making braking noise going down some of these steep Pittsburgh hills. Took it to Russs auto, and they did a good job of checking things out. They seem quite concerned with the care of your car, and leave you with a good feeling about the service you get there.

I went to Russs Auto for an inspection. The group just remodeled their waiting/office area and it made a big difference! I waited there for my car to be done -- while Scott worked diligently and promptly on my car, I had the chance to talk with the owner. He was extremely knowledgeable and had the customer in his mind first and foremost. The pair passed my car and gave me what I would call gentle advice -- meaning they suggested some maintenance I could address with my car to keep it running smoothly but was far from pushy in anyway! I really appreciate that; give me the knowledge but let me choose. I also appreciated them trying to explain some things to me and not taking advantage of the fact that I dont know much!! I trust them and recommended my boyfriend go for an inspection as well. I used reviews to pick Russs Auto so I want to pass on the favor to others!

I stopped by asking them how much it would be for a full tune up of my car. They gave me an estimate for $700. I decided to do the job myself and was able to get it done for $200. I felt like they were trying to rip me off, and I warn any one out there considering on going to them.

We had to have our jeep towed and being unfamiliar with the area, we took AAAs suggestion and went to Russ.
