Went for a macaron making class on 8/21 - so much fun and our teacher was incredibly informative. Our macarons were not the prettiest but they tasted amazing. We also snagged a box of store-made cookies on our way out. Worthyhe experience!

The Macaron Bar is a delightful easy to find little place on Penn avenue. I had been waiting months for this place to open. When you enter the building is nice and bright with white walls and a pop of color from the macaroons and the fun colorful balloon bulbs on the ceiling. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the process and flavor components of the macarons. I opted to buy 12 macarons in the $25 box. They have every flavor imaginable but my favorites were the toasted coconut and pistachio with the chocolate strawberry or birthday cake a close 3rd. Its going on 4 days later and they have kept just ok in the refrigerator. I recommend eating as soon as you buy them because the texture starts 2 fade fast. The packaging allows for them to crack as well which takes away the fun of eating a macaron. They also sell the cookie shells (meringues) for $3 in dozen bags once theyve been cracked. Its a steal for the flavor they contain.

Gorgeous place! I didn’t catch the name of who worked with us, however she was so pleasant! We came from out of town to visit and she helped pick out the perfect pack of macarons. They are perfect! We will definitely revisit if we are ever in the area!

They have the best macarons in Pittsburgh! I love all of the flavors -- Earl Grey, Amaretto, and Black Raspberry are my favorites, but theyre all great. I also love all of the seasonal flavors and having something new to try every time I come in. Not to mention that the shop is beautiful! Pick up a box for your friends or coworkers and you will be eternally loved :)

A very special spot with special cookies! These are a perfect macaron with many flavors to choose from. The box is very nice and does make a great gift. My favorite is the chocolate cherry. Its best to get the big box so you can experience many flavors. The coffee is delicious!!! Will become your favorite.

Great assortment of macarons! they’re very soft and remind me just of a French macaron. Every single time I come to Pittsburgh, I have to come here. I tried red velvet, coconut, birthday cake, cheese cake, and more. I’ll make sure to come back on my next trip because they’re amazing!

This place is AMAZING! I have always wanted to try real Macarons and this place definitely was worth the try! Its not busy yet and is decorated bright and lively and even though its a tad pricey, $2.50 for 1, $13 for ½ dozen and $25 for full dozen, I will certainly be going back for more! This place has great hours and is open pretty late and early, which is always a bonus. If youre in the East Liberty, Highland Park, Shadyside, Squirrel Hill and Oakland areas, you should be stopping by this place for sure!

This place is on Penn Avenue across the street from CVS pharmacy. A block away from Target. Quite a big place for only selling macarons and coffee. My Godchild and I had macaron ice cream sandwich. The cashier recommended to let them soften up a bit and I will agree. You definitely have to have a big mouth to chomp down on one of the ice cream sandwich. They are quite sweet, so have your sweet tooth ready. I had the pistachio and the little man had vanilla. I was satisfied with what I got. Now Im at Shenley park walking it off. I hope you all enjoy.w

The macarons here are delicious and I loved the chocolate and coconut macarons. I would say this is an every once in a while place, because each macaron (literally the size of a dollar coin,) is $2.50. if you get 6 macarons, its $13. I understand the craft and the density of flavor per macaron, but with something like milkshake factory right across the street, its kind of hard to justify those prices. I have a bad habit of scarfing down my food, but I made sure to eat each macaron with 2 smaller bites instead of one big one. I kept telling myself that each bite was over a dollar. The people that work here are extremely nice and friendly, but the prices wont make me a regular customer.
