We went on a Sunday morning expecting to wait long to be seated and get our food. To our surprise, this place was run so efficiently (especially considering they are low on staff) that we were seated almost right away, and our food came out in no time! The food itself was delicious! We tried the Irish Benedict with potato pancakes, and both were delectable. Not to mention the service was amazing as well. Highly recommend!!!
First time here with my husbandRenee was a excellent server...very cheerful and attentive to her guestsFood was amazing...loved the turkey sausage. Eggs were perfectly scrambled and bacon was cooked perfectly for my tasteMy husband loved his omeletThe only small complaint from my husband was that the potatoes were not quite done.Otherwise this was a awesome experience.
We used their website to put our names in. Im glad we did because it took over an hour wait on Saturday at lunch. My 11 year old gobbled up the raspberry French toast. My 9 year old didnt finish his apple cinnamon pancakes because he said it was too much like dessert. The leftovers were really good, though!
Busy spot thanks to local support. Expect long wait times even for one person unless you reserve a table ahead of time.Food and staff is great. Location is accessible with street parking nearby. Prices range from cheap to moderate.
I went to DorStop restaurant for a breakfast but left with an enjoyed experience. Renee was my server, she smiled was courteous, professional, and absolutely human. She kept my glass full, my plate was hot when she brought it out and she Checked on me throughout my meal. I had my own little private table and the chow was amazing. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dorstop ask for RENEE and tip her well. Enjoy!
I ate here today for the first time. I had the Italian Jumbot and my wife had the Hot Meatloaf sandwich. Both meals were were tasty and a good portion for the price. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We will definitely eat here again.
No parking lot. But the food is great
Typical diner food.... not too sure what all the hype was about but still delicious! I will go again for sure
Great neighborhood breakfast spot. Good food and some interesting choices. Friendly staff attentive with the coffee
Was great. Another Guy Ferrari stop. Everyone were very friendly and the food was delicious. Had no problem finding it but parking is tough.
Love this place if you can get seated. Arrived 8/23/21 at 1:19PM (waiting area empty). Was told they close at 2 and are no longer accepting walk-ins. I was very unhappy but ended up having a great breakfast at Pamelas Diner up the hill.
I ordered the steak and eggs this morning it was horrible!!! The steak cheap and no taste and the small about of home fries the gave me was BURNT and I can here myself chewing like chips!!! Only thing was good on my plate was the eggs and I didn’t eat them because I had nothing else to go with it after paying 23 dollars !!!! Sad
My orange juice was nasty like gross which is odd to experience at a breakfast restaurant. The omelette I ordered was great along with the service. This place has excellent customer service. However the grits are disgusting do not get them. I understand they may focus on service and main dishes. But however let’s improve on making the whole menu great.
Breakfast is wonderful. Staff is friendly and efficient. Always crowded but worth it.
Quite little restaurant that my grandmother took me too had a slight wait but was completely worth it for the incredible service and great food
First time. The spicy omelette was wonderful. Good, fast service. Staff very attentive.
This little diner was packed on a Sunday morning. It was recommended by a local who hadnt actually been but read a review and said it was featured on restaurant show. So our expectations were pretty high. My friend and I ordered the banana chocolate chip oatmeal pancakes and potato pancakes to share (because I can never decide to go sweet or savory for breakfast!) The potato pancakes were unremarkable: small, soggy, on the sweet side. The ham we ordered with them though was delicious. The oatmeal pancakes were perfect though and you get three huge, thick pancakes! I loved the hearty texture and I could even skip the syrup. My kids got French toast and feta burger raved about both. I wish the server had pointed out the specials menu though because our neighboring table ordered that and it looked amazing.
This is one of my favorite places! Great staff and amazing food. Potato pancakes are my favorite and the marbled rye toast is clutch. Thank you for existing and feeding me so many delicious treats!
My meal was good not great, but I would definitely eat here again, just get something different.. our waitress was amazing, very nice and kind.. nice atmosphere
Great reviews, but the wait was way too long. Im not going to wait over an hour for breakfast.
Staff was friendly. We were seated immediately despite it being super busy. Food arrived quick and was delicious. We had the west coast benedict and the breakfast burrito. Highly recommend!
Excellent food. All scratch! Friendly staff! Breakfast and early lunch only. Closes at 1:00 sharp! Always good!
Breakfast was amazing! Server was knowledgeable and gave great suggestions.
Love this place! Specially German potato pancakes and Banana pancakes! Fast and friendly service, great food and always full cup of delicious coffee. What else do u need to start your day! Thank you DorStop!
Great tasting food! Very popular place, even on a weekday. Had the French toast and it was wonderful.
I loved this the Dor-Stop. My friend and I went for breakfast and were pleased that we could also order items on the lunch menu. We only waited about 10 minutes for a table. I decided to get both! I had a breakfast sandwich with bacon (it did not disappoint for the price) and a bacon cheddar chicken wrap. Both were fantastic and i ended up taking food home. Service was attentive and food was hot. I will definitely return.
Have been coming here for over 2 decades, including when they were still across the street at the old location. Cant remember a time I was disappointed. The raspberry French toast is highly recommended.
Super delicious! Fast service. Absolutely loved it at a lunch stop.
Food is good. Nice little spot on the corner. I usually do pickup because the wait can be too long at times and Ive experienced bad service before that left a bad taste in my mouth. (Update) Went back to eat outside and had excellent service! Maybe the service as a whole is getting better.
Food and service was excellent! Hour long wait though....
Outstanding food and friendly service with a safe environment.
Owner Jennifer was very very rude. I did not sit down to eat because she was so rude that I had to leave. Her tone of voice and demeanor are opposite of a hostess w good hospitality. Then she was sure to make sure I was aware she was the owner when I expressed to her that she was being rude.I have been wanting to try this spot, however, I will not give my $ to a business owner like her.
Ordered the banana chocolate chip pancakes and bacon. Pancakes were delicious and super filling. Couldnt even eat them all. Bacon was ok. Our waitress wasnt the friendliest but she was ok. Didnt tell us if pay was at the table or up front when she brought the check. Since we had never been here before, we just had to guess. The lemonade was just super sugared water, with a lemon dropped in top.
Great food, fun atmosphere and service. Food hits your table pretty fast too!! Coffee was not the best but breakfasts and burgers have all been good.Get there early on the weekends if you want a seat! Tables go fast so make sure you have everybody with you when you get there, they wont hold a table for party members who are not there yet.All in all I think well be back in the near future!!
Rick and the rest of the people who work are good people. Ricks Guys version is the bomb
Great breakfast. A little tight inside considering Covid-19 is still here. But it was pleasant enough.
Always good food and outstanding service. I have always felt welcomed here as a trans-woman.
My wife loves their pancakes. I love the rest.
Best place for home fries and potato pancakes. And crispy bacon.Plus, due to the current issues, its more enjoyable to sit inside now. (Before it was constantly full and noisy, at least to me).The app is easy to use to order your food ahead of time so you can pick it up without any long wait. (Just remember they close earlier now. I believe its usually closed by 1 pm)
Food is below average. Nothing compared to Pamela’s
Potato pancakes...divine.
I grew up in Dormont and this place was a mainstay of my childhood and teenage years.Having moved away from the city and moved back easily half a dozen times, I always come back here at least once a year.Easily my favorite restaurant ever.
A tasty lil neighborhood diner.
Nice corner restaurant. Small & popular.
Classic breakfast spot where each bite will leave you wanting more. From scrambled eggs to dense, cookie-like pancakes, youll never get bored with these diner dishes. The staff is friendly and inviting but quick and efficient! Theyll take care of you whether youre new or swinging by for your Sunday omlette. The Dor-Stop is always worth the wait.
Great little diner for a good, reasonably priced breakfast.
Wonderful variety and good coffee, and I dont usually drink coffee.
Parking sucked, bacon was good, coffee was trash, waitress was nice.
Good food, good prize and good service. They open early at 8am.
Got breakfast this morning, first disappointment was that the contactless delivery advertised on google for them is not available through their website and I was unaware until after I already paid so we had to go pick it up. Then we got home with the food. I got eggs Benedict and specifically marked holly sauce on the side when prompted to choose. To my surprise, there was NO sauce at all anywhere. so, I basically had ham eggs potatoes and bread. Disappointing and frustrating for sure. To top it all off, we had pancakes which had no butter or syrup included. From someone who has worked in restaurants many times, this is embarrassing. Do not have to-go food if you are not going to include the things that are needed with the meal. In fact, there should have been napkins too, but I wouldnt even be mad about that if we had the sauces needed.Next time we will spend our money elsewhere.Food taste was good but you can get that many places
Amazing food, price, service. Had the walnut and banana hot cakes and they were delicious. 😋
Food and service were excellent.. potato pancakes were delicious but a little greasy only complaint..
Great food! Chocolate chip pancakes were amazing
Excellent food, especially the hot cakes. The staff was very friendly and welcoming as well I highly recommend and will definitely be back.
Best pumpkin pancakes around. Its my go-to restaurant when I have the day off, people are in from out of town, or I need a dose of comfort food. This place is the epitome of a classic local restaurant. Its cozy, friendly, in a cute neighborhood and its menu has so, so many delicious ways to stuff your body with calories.
The Dor-stop is my go to breakfast spot. Its located conveniently in the heart of Dormont on Potomac. Every time I go here it is extremely busy and sometimes takes awhile to be sat, but it is always well worth the wait. I have been here probably a dozen times and the food is always really good and comes out quick. The place is constantly busy, so sometimes things get forgotten, but I still give the food and the service 5 stars.
I don’t understand why they operate on such limited hours. It’s so inconvenient to the people who can’t be there at 7 am. And placing a to go order? Impossible! They never answer the phone. The food is great. I just hate the hours. It’s very inconvenient.
Good food fast service will go again
Make you sure you get some tablecakes. (A stack of pancakes for the table.)
My husband dine out quite often and love to go to different spots in South Hills, but The Dor-Stop Restaurant is a place we frequent regularly. It’s all about the Filet! It is juicy and melts in your mouth. The sides are wonderful, I recommend the Brussels sprouts!
My boyfriend and I ordered online to pick up at the restaurant. The wait staff was really nice and I was impressed with how quick they had everything ready. As for the food, I was a little bit bummed because my French toast was soggy (the raspberry flavor was really good) but it just tasted like I was eating raspberry wet bread. The bacon was pretty limp and I had a bite of my boyfriend’s pancakes and while they had a good flavor, they were a little dry.Main takeaway: quick service and friendly staff but there’s room for improvement on how the food is cooked.
Hands down the best eggs Benny in Pittsburgh! I have never had a bad meal here. Food is very good, very reasonable and delivered very fast! Tho thumbs way up for one of my favorite breakfast spots in the Burgh.
