What a great operation; very impressive. I just needed some Western Red Cedar for a project; they had a lot of it in stock in a variety of sizes. The woman I spoke with on the phone was very knowledgeable. The man at the counter was very helpful and friendly, and the man who helped me in the yard (Antionne) was very pleasant, courteous, and helpful. The quality of the material was far superior to what I saw at Lowes and the price was almost identical. I look forward to going back one day just to look around their large, beautiful showroom. It was such a pleasure shopping at this independent business; much better than the big boxes. Shop local!

Agree with several other users that the selection and quality of moulding is better than youll find at HD or Lowes, certainly, and more accessible to the average consumer than other lumber yards. I also agree that the service can be good or temperamental. Ive had a couple of the guys be consistently helpful, and one of the guys complain that theyre ready to leave and ugh, its almost closing time pretty much every time Ive arrived towards the end of the day. Its minor in the end, but so you have a heads up when youre going in to spend big $$ on product... Also, its best to inspect each piece of product they pick from the back and double check unit counts versus the invoice.

Great lumber yard the place is huge.

Convenient, fair pricing, open to public not just contractors. Easier to get to if youre in the South Side than other lumber spots. The only knock is some of the staff are very helpful and some of the staff treat you like youre annoying them. Id be great if there was a little more consistency in customer service.

I have gotten some very good custom woodwork from these folks. Windows, doors, railings... all high quality. Theyll help you with dumb guy questions, but it helps to know a little but what youre talking about.
