We have shopped here many times over the years. We have enjoyed their homemade tortillas but after buying a pack of tortillas this weekend we found mice droppings INSIDE the package. This will be last time at this store.

When youre in the Strip District, THIS is the place for all your Mexican supplies for dinner. They have the biggest selection of hot sauces and freshly made-right-in-the-store tortillas, too. Then theres the selection of locally made salsas and such, tortilla presses, tortilla servers, pinatas, salsa dishes and whatever else you might need for the perfect fiesta at home. Youll have a ball searching the nooks and crannies of the store for everything you need.

The fresh tortillas are fabulous. We always buy a few packs when we are in. The store is well stocked with a variety of items. Goya section is larger than most stores that carry this line of products. They also carry a good selection of hot sauces. The store could be a bit neater but no big deal.

When I visit the Strip I always go to this little Mexican market. Service is nice and helpful. I think they only speak English. They also open after ten and by six they close. I love the white Goya cheese, the tortillas and dough (great for filling them with cheese, meat or apple filling and just fry) they sell. I buy the frozen sweet and green plantains great as a side dish ( sweet plantains are great with pasta and the green ones are good with steak). I do wish they would bring natural green bananas and plantains.

Very cool Mexican restaurant and shop. You can watch a machine make tortilla chips and pick up their own tortillas and chips made right there. Nicaraguense chica here. I lived in Pittsburgh for a year before learning of this place, but was afraid of getting my hopes up. If you are like me, rest assured that this place is the real deal! I found everything I need for bajo, nacatamal, etc. The downside is they mostly stock Goya products (hence 4 stars instead of 5), but I was really very impressed with how much they pack into their tiny storefront. You wont find this stuff in Giant Eagles ethnic aisle.

Worst experience I have ever had at any establishment ever. Set an item down that I was going to purchase and an employee came over and said “I have to straighten this up multiple times a day” with an atrocious attitude. And complained about us “making a mess” one candle was set to the side and she blamed my friend and I for it. Then when we went to check out she had the audacity to search our bags(she actually dug through them) “because someone told us you had suspicious behaviour” despite no one but her being around us. Then she also checked our pockets and had my friend take off her jacket. This isn’t exactly legal. Don’t be surprised if they have a lawsuit coming.

The taco stand is pretty amazing. At $2.25 a taco (as of this writing), the prices are quite competitive with Edgars around the corner. While the variety of tacos is a tad smaller than their competition, Reynas is pretty standard as well. We basically end up deciding between which wait is shorter when it comes down to it, since the quality of tacos is more or less the same between both stands. No freshly made agua fresca here, but they often have a cool bucket of glassed drinks such as Mexican coke or Jarritos, which pair well with your tacos.

Review №64

The dressing for our salad was bad because they were trying a new recipe, we had been there previously and the exact dressing had been very different and much better. We thought they accidentally had given us cups of guacamole at first instead of dressing.Low stars because of how the chef handled it, not for the dressing itself. The chef came to our table to ask how we liked our meal and when we were honest and said it wasnt as great as before, he basically told us we were eating it wrong because we were dipping our individual bites of salad into the dressing (it was so thick, we had tried drizzling it onto the salad on our plates and ended up with blobs that wouldnt distribute evenly, so instead of eating some bites of plain lettuce we started dipping the individual forkfuls).Condescendingly told us that when we come back, we can just ask the kitchen to pre-toss the salad instead of having the dressing come out on the side. It felt very rude because he seemed to be acting like we just didnt know how to mix dressing into a salad and blaming us, instead of admitting that his new dressing might not be that good. Not going back, unless its for a drink only. Two and not one star because the bartender was great. We didnt even get any drinks, he was just the only employee concerned that the only customers in the restaurant werent happy with their food.
