I rarely leave reviews but felt it was important to share my experience with Main Street Automotive. Late Saturday we were driving to Apple Hill and my daughters car started overheating. We had the car towed to Main Street Automotive. They were closed so we had to leave it. Since we lived about an hour away we were anxious to have to leave it in the parking lot but the tow truck driver pointed out the security cameras and that it was right across the street from the police station. We placed the key in an envelope with our contact information and were able to put it in the after hours door slot. First thing Monday I received a call Daniel. He was professional, reassuring and knowledgeable. They were able to squeeze the car in even though they were already so busy with scheduled appointments. Within a few hours, they had identified the problem and ordered the part. Daniel kept me informed every step of the way. I was so impressed with the honesty, the level of service provided and the customer service given that I wish I lived closer to bring all my cars to them. Although I dont wish for anyone to breakdown, if youre visiting this area and something does happen I highly recommend this business!

They quoted me on my brakes then fixed them, drove around a bit and then it felt off so brought car back and they said that i would need to add more to the calipers or something, not 100% sure as i am not a car person which is why i was counting on a car shop to do the work for me but it seems like they just want as much money as possible rather than fixing my car the 1st time

Great place, Fantastic customer service but I brung my car here for the same issue multiple times and the issue still has yet to be fixed after pouring 2300 into it..

Incredible. I usually try to do my own work, but whenever I dont have time, or its too big a project for me, I always bring it here. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, and honest. If you go here, they will take care of you. Pricing is always reasonable, and if its not, theyll let you know, and help you figure out what to do. From simple engine codes, to valve cover gaskets, to head replacements and full engine builds, they will do the work you need done to get back on the road. Not only are they fast, but theyre quality. Ive never seen a bad job from them, and Ive looked! I had an emergency recently and they even took care of diagnostics same-day. I wont take my cars anywhere else.

As always I recieved fast, efficient service, and timely advice with no pressure. Also love waiting among the fruit trees. Thanks Main Street for all your fine service.

I originally went to Tom Sierra. Main reason was to have headlight bulb replaced and ask for tires to be rotated while I was there. I sat outside for little over 2 hours (as waiting area inside was blocked off) to be told they could not do it today but, we rotated your tires. Stopped at main street automotive. There lobby was full with customers too. They had the light bulb replaced in less than a 1/2 hour and I did not have to wait outside. Very professional and courteous. Highly recommend them.

I was from out of town and developed a possible issue with my vehicle that i didnt want to risk driving the long tow back home. They were very quick and responsive very fair and honest. The owner personal assisted me and he is a very genuine honest individual who took good care of us. Thank u much again

On the way to Tahoe, the A/C compressor clutch melted and overheated in our 2010 Civic. It was after 4pm and not wanting to take a chance going up the mountain, we stopped at Main Street Automotive. Jeremy and his crew were great. Jeremy, the owner, helped us in every possible way so we could continue on our way. Couldnt have asked for better service.

Ive been a customer since moving to Placerville 3 years ago. Ive always been totally pleased with the service Ive received from Main Street Automotive, plus I like supporting local businesses.

As a female, it is already intimidating coming to a shop and worrying about being taken advantage of and I feel this shop did just that! The smog failed due to something that should have been seen right away. I have personally had past shops let me know right away when doing the visual that a vehicle would not pass smog and they saved me time and money. (That is great customer service compared to bad service). I asked if the (bulb replacement) issue was fixed if we could come back with no charge. They offered $40 return fee on top of the original fee, but then went on to say it would do THEM a service if I didn’t return. At that point I said forget it because I did not feel comfortable bringing my vehicle back to a place that already verbally said they did not want me coming back. I should have read past reviews about this shop being shady and having bad customer service.

I live in Reno but work at Apple Hill on weekdays, my 2001 F150 through a code of misfire cylinder 8. I called Main Street Automotive to replace the coil and spark plug. They charged me half of what I was quoted from other repair shops. They got me in at 8am and was at work by 9am.Very friendly, fair pricing, and honest folks. I will use them again the next time for sure!!!!

Unfortunately I think they have a hearing problem there. I set up a appointment for today for a smog. I specifically said Wednesday. He replied back how about Wednesday at 9 A.M. My wife drives down there. They tell her its scheduled for Thursday (REALLY). So anyways at least Im not out of any money . I had some specific questions and I felt like he did not have time for me. I guess Ill just find another shop to work on my vehicle. COMMUNICATION IS DEFINITELY NOT THEIR STRONG POINT.

After eating lunch in Placerville, I went out to my car and found it wouldnt start. I dont have Roadside Insurance so I started by calling Tow companies who said all they would do is tow me to a mechanic, when all I really wanted was for someone to check whether I had a dead battery, or not. I called Main St Auto Repair and talked to Jeremy. He was so nice and offered to come see what he could do, I was literally just down the street from them. He showed up about ten minutes later, tested my battery, jumped it and got my car up and running again! On top of that, he wouldnt take any payment. Thanks Jeremy, you were a life saver!

Came in for an emergency repair with sparkplugs, they took it in same day and they were very helpful in making sure I didnt go over budget! They have a $100 diagnostics fee but they are very up front with it and all other costs. (Also their dogs are SO sweet and adorable) Im definitely going to visit again. Thank you guys!!

I had a pre-purchase inspection done by Main Street Auto Repair and had a great experience. The car was inspected on time even with me having to change the appointment time for being late. Brian the mechanic was nice enough to let me go on the test drive he was really knowledgeable and gave me great feedback on the car. Friendly atmosphere and decent pricing. If your in the Placerville surrounding area give them a try.

We have had great service from Main Street Auto. Recently, when a huge pine cone decimated the front windshield of my truck, Main Street Auto got the windshield repaired and did an amazing job at getting all the shattered glass and pine sap out of my car interior and off the surface of the vehicle. They have also been great at fixing my partners car and discussing various options for repairs.

I was not impressed with the service. I called in the morning, asked a few questions about smogging an older vehicle, spent the day following the directions, and arrived at Main St. at 3:30 to be told I didnt have an appt. Jeremy told me someone had called to cancel a 3:00 appt but didnt give a name so he just cancelled my 3:30 appt. Well, I was there so he graciously accepted my appt to smog my car. We decided on a precheck, which was 40$, and if it passed, I would receive a credit of 20$ towards the actual smogging. Standard procedure. He then continued to try to impress me with all the work that they had to go thru to smog my car (basically sticking a hose in my tailpipe hooked up to a machine). It passed with flying colors except for the visual inspection. I asked when he could reinspect the car (it was Christmas Eve) and he said Wednesday but I would need an appointment and I would need to Beg for Mercy to get the credit for the pretest, which was already previously agreed upon. Needless to say I DID NOT RETURN on Wed. What a waste of 40$.

Horrible I had my brakes done there 9000 miles ago and I already need new ones because they did not replace they brake caliper. When I took back and confronted them they told me it wasnt there fault that the caliper looked fine when they fixed my brakes. When they gave me a quote to redo the brakes that they should have fixed for free anyways it was 190 dollars more then the tire shop had quoted me. These people are not out to help you they just care about money. When I originally had my brakes fixed 9000 miles ago it was almost 600 dollars and now they want me to pay 690 to redo their mistake. Thats almost 1300 dollars for brakes in 9000 miles. Really?
