I give Jeff, our salesman, 5 stars!!However, while buying a car from TCDJR I was not happy with the way myself or Jeff was treated by the finance guy (whom I don’t know the name of), after being brought a payment calculation that made no sense to me and after expressing that it made no sense to me the finance guy said “ok that’s fine” and immediately turned his back and walked away from me. I was looking for an understanding as to the details of this payment that he wasn’t willing to give. And that “estimate” ENDED UP BEING WRONG with almost $3000+ more tacked on. The only reason I did not walk away from this sale & dealership was because Jeff went above and beyond for us and I wanted him to have my business.

I recently had a great experience with the service center at Thompson’s. The service consultant Kevin B went above and beyond. There was some confusion with one of my deals for a service and he spent a long time figuring it out for me and didn’t give up until he was able to provide me with the service with the deal. I was looking forward to it just to be shot down and told they won’t be open Saturday’s anytime soon. Their is no other Jeep service area here besides standard service places. Excellent Service Departmnent and Custmer Waiting Lounge

We have purchased three vehicles from Thompson’s within the last several years. The most recent one was purchased from Thompson Dodge Jeep Ram. We noticed yesterday evening while driving, that the entire brake/caliper part was falling off our Ram truck front wheel. We immediately took it into Thompson this morning for service to be fixed as we cannot drive the truck for the lack of safety to us and the safety of others on the road. When my husband arrived and waited for them to open, he was told that they were too busy to help him today due to being short staffed. Now I understand that we did not have an appointment, but it baffled me to think that a truck we purchased there that’s not safe to drive, with one caliper bolt missing and one about to fall off, turned him away to drive it and to make an appointment for the following week. The other option after we insisted on help, was to leave it there all day and they may get to it or may have the part to fix it. Which is the result of nothing. Instead we took our truck for the part to O’Reily, and then took it to Big O’ Tire down the street where they fixed it for FREE and had it done in less than ten minutes.I find Thompson’s service department to be less and subpar, and my impression of Thompson now is they do not care about the safety of their customers or the safety of others. Truly disappointed in this local dealership.

After Folsom lake dodge had my car for 3 weeks and was not able to find the problem, Thompson’s was able to find and fix it . Kevin was amazing . Kept me posted the whole time with what was going on and I can’t say enough good things about the quality of service . Great company . Thanks

They provide the service that you and your Dodge deserve. When I needed to replace my 2016 charger last week, Barry sold me my dream car, 2021 charger rt, smoke show grey. It was advertised $3k under msrp, while all of the other dealerships were demanding OVER msrp on their new vehicles as a result of the wonky market. Thompson’s delighted me AGAIN, and I can’t overstate their competency and commitment to superior customer service.

Great place to buy a vehicle.

Good sales rep who was helpful and informative but BEWARE of the bait and switch this dealership is running on a non-negotiable “better than LoJack” security system that they do not disclose in their pricing. The add on fee to a used car was $1200 and their only rationale was that “we put this on all of our vehicles” and “we’ve had 45 cars stolen off our lot.” While they suggested there are disclaimers one their website for this additional fee it was not disclosed during our phone conversation of an off the lot price. The sales rep was nice but this practice is questionable at best and not common practice as their sales manager would have prospective buyers believe. I will be the classic dissatisfied customer who will advise buyers to look elsewhere until Thompson decides to be transparent about this practice.

Definitely a 5 star experience. We have closer Jeep dealers to go to but wed rather travel the extra miles for these guys.

I had a great experience with Nicole and the staff at Thompsons. I had spoken with her on the phone two days prior to actually making the trip out to Placerville (I live in Sac) and she filled me in on some of the questions I had about my vehicle. Then, just to be sure I was still coming/interested in the vehicle, she texted me two days later to set up a time for me to come take a look. When I arrived that day, the car was clean and pulled up front under the carport, ready for me to test drive. When I mentioned that I wasnt comfortable purchasing the car without my mechanic taking a look, they arranged for me to borrow the car for a few hours so that I could drive it all the way back to Elk Grove for my mechanic to check it out. The vehicle passed his tests with flying colors, I drove back to Placerville and then purchased the car. Along with Nicole and her manager, we negotiated the price I was comfortable paying (despite the cat and mouse game youd expect at dealerships) and I walked out that day with my new pre-owned vehicle. The dealership was clean, everyone was masked up and hand sanitizer everywhere. Id definitely recommend this dealership and Nicole to my friends and family...if they are willing to make the trek.

I had a very bad experience with this dealership. I bought two vehicles there in the last five years, spending over $100,000. I never had a problem with the first one and a few months ago I traded it for a new RAM. They put the wrong tires on the truck but refused to change them. I had other issues with the truck but the dealership didn’t bother to respond except for vulgar messages from the saleswomen.

My husband and I are not a fan of dealerships. We try to rarely need to go to one, but we feel differently about Thompsons. We had a very easy and near painless experience there. Larry, our salesman, was awesome and very patient with us! He showed us a few different Jeeps, gave us the pros and cons of each and helped us narrow down our choices. He was awesome! I would definitely recommend buying a car through Larry. There is absolutely no pressure with his help. The finance team was great! They helped us get a loan even with fair credit. They did a great job and the guy (I cant remember his name, sorry!) Would come to us and ask us what WE would like to do. He never pushed us to make a bad credit decision. That was huge. I also want to say thank you to Andrea! She was very helpful in assisting us in different questions we had. My one and only complaint with Thompsons, is that on our jeep there was a non optional $900+ charge for a tracking system that the dealership installed. It was not something we wanted or would have had installed ourselves. We wanted that charge taken off and they wouldnt accommodate. Which is sucks because that tracking system was not something we wanted and are stuck with that charge on our loan. Other than that, we had a good experience at Thompsons and would recommend them!

Never take your car to the service department of this dealership. I wish I could give them minus 5 stars. I went in for a leaky transmission cooling hose and ended up paying $4800 to another shop to replace my transmission. I never received an apology from Thompsons for installing defective parts (transmission cooling hose) on my car and they even lied and said the part was not defective after a master mechanic at another shop showed the service manager and parts person the bad leak from the defective, brand new, hose they installed on my Jeep. Thompsons refused to refund my money or pay for the shot transmission. So much for that wonderful customer service others are reporting here on yelp. I wonder if those individuals are paid for their reviews. Something to think about. I have reported them to the California Bureau of Automotive Repair and am awaiting an investigation. For those who have also had issues with this dealership, I urge you too to submit a complaint to the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. Dont let it go.

I was looking for a Jeep Wrangler Sahara and found one I liked. Jessica at Thompson’s helped me out and was really great about customer service. These guys are throwbacks in a good way with just trusting the customer and trying to be different. I feel like I got a great deal on a a nice Jeep and they were even able to bring it down to my house. Along the way I got a rock chip on the windshield. I notified them and they were nice enough to tell me that it would be reimbursed once I fixed it. If your shopping for a Jeep you should go here. Well, once the purchase is made it went wrong! Numerous phone calls never returned. I purchased a certified used 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel and had no owners manual, wrong certified pre owned vehicle inspection check list. The check list passed off to me was for a Chrysler. My DEF fluid ran low on the way home from dealership so my suspicion is that nothing was done as promised to me. I ended up having to buy an owners manual on line at the cost of 60.00. When buying both our trucks not only was the buying experience easy and somewhat a joy, our salesman Nicole was personable, and made us feel taken care of from the moment we walked in till the moment we hadn’t keys. I even pointed out concerns with the vehical and the team was on the issue right then and there. We gave Nicole our price range and she didn’t push or force us into something we wouldn’t be able to make happen. I highly recommend for a welcoming and wonderful experience. Made a call to get my truck in for a check engine light. They had an appointment the following day for me. They were able to identify the problem and order parts to repair it. Parts came in and they were able to install them on Thursday. Also identified a possible issue with front end and were able to do an alignment same day. They also took care of a couple factory recall items while I had my truck in. I would highly recommend this business. I came all the way down from Sparks Nv based upon the excellent reviews and my past experiences with them. Donna handled business and made sure everything was taken care of for me. I will return here for any future service even though it is 2 1/2 hours from home and I have several dealers between here and home.

Beware. These guys are croaks! They tried to charge me $5,000 for a dent the Dent Doctor could fix for $75!!! Then they told me they could not renew my lease without putting additional money down. I went to another dealership. I recommend you do the same.

Bought a lemon of a truck here. Buyers beware. Didnt even make it 2000 miles, or to my first car payment for that matter. Dealer was less than helpful, Their newest (of MANY) employees (sales manager, Johnathon or whatever) was actually a bit of a smartass and seemed to be pleased with himself once he realized I had not purchased the warranty. Was not at all surprised to find out that the salesman that sold me the truck and the finance manager were no longer with the company, and apparently took their customer service with them. They offered to look at the issue, after of course I tow it on my dime, for only $175. Unfortunately there was no point where I felt confident they would right this wrong so I will not be giving them another dime. Crappy part, is my truck has now been inoperable for a month and engine will likely need to be removed to be repaired. Havent got a single call back showing any concern on the dealers behalf. Thanks guys!!!! Youre the best!!

Weird set up. I had to hike up a hill to a dirt lot to find trucks. No big whoop but my nice boots are dusty. Now my real issue is this: been to this location twice. Never had any help. Today I was ready to buy a truck. Approved! Ready to go..but no one around to assist me!. I walked the entire lot alone. So Im taking my business to Folsom, maybe Auburn. Bummer as local business owners we were hoping to keep our money in El Dorado County!

We went to Thompson and bought a lot of accessories for a vehicle and when it was time for us to get a new vehicle they were so uninterested in helping us we went to Elk Grove. The general sales manager missed out on a great sale but we ended up happy because Elk Grove treated us the way customers should be treated. Shame on Steve Garrity for the way he treats his customers.

I was initially contacted by Casey, the internet sales manager, through some form of a pre-populated email. Once I arrived, Casey did not even come to speak to me. They handed me off to someone else with less experience. Not sure if it was because I look younger than the average person buying a new car, but it was clear Casey had no interest in helping me. Once I left the store, Casey sent me another pre-populated email, I replied to his email asking questions but he never bothered to call me back. I also was never introduced to any sales manager. It was the 5th time I was part of buying a new car therefore I knew what to expect. It was clear that they had no motivation to try to get me the car. Thankfully a young salesman Matt tried his best and finally was able to work something out, not what I desired, but Matt is the reason I will not give this dealership a one-star review.

I have purchased a few vehicles from Thompsons over the years and every experience has been awesome. No high pressure, no empty promises, but always knowledgeable and friendly. This time buying my first brand new car was nerve racking until I walked through the doors of the new Thompsons Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership. It was a simple, easy, enjoyable process. Bright, Jessica & Gavin made the buying experience awesome, not to mention making me feel like a VIP. Thank you for bringing the Jeep brand back to Placerville and thank you for the exceptional VIP treatment.
