Overall, its a great store with decent prices. Unfortunately, your experience with customer service will just depend on who is working that day. I have been to this store twice before and wasnt wowed, however, when I visited today, Kristen* used a nifty little tool and helped me color match my skin tone to the exact brand of products I wanted. I have NEVER been this excited about new makeup!! Seriously cant thank that young woman enough for all of her help! They also have a great rewards program, and return policy.*Im not sure if I got Kristens name right
I came in about two weeks ago, and I needed help finding my shade, however all the workers seemed too busy playing with face masks on one another instead of asking if I needed help. I looked a bit lost but they were preoccupied with themselves. I eventually found my shade with zero help from the workers and when I finally went to purchase the product, I was waiting on line for what seemed like forever until one of the workers finally noticed that I was ready. Ill be coming back here since its the closest Sephora to me, but I think the staff needs to work on their customer service skills and friendliness.
I go here often with my friends and we aren’t adults or older teenagers, but they give me and my friends dirty looks. When we ask for a sample of some sort or to match our foundation the employees rudely do their job. And even when I go with my mom they only ask my mom if she needs help or a sample they do their job right away or is really bubbly about it, but whatever at least an ulta is opening!
Unfortunately my experience shopping here was horrible. The disrespect given by the employees was absolutely the rudest I’ve ever been treated. I have spent a very good amount of money here. And you can’t blame me for wanting samples, so when I am rudely assisted it’s aggravating since it’s their job to do so. Other than that there are about two employees that treat me well there.
I love sephora and it’s products, however at this one I feel like I cannot even do any shopping. One of the workers followed me around the entire store, as if I was going to steal one of their products. It seems like every single time I shop there the lady does the same exact thing. I feel very disrespected as a customer, to have someone feel the need to follow me around when all I am doing is purchasing their products. Wouldn’t recommend this place unless you love getting puppy guarded by their terrible staff.

I don’t feel comfortable shopping here because of the way I am treated by the employees. On one occurrence I was browsing, purely for fun, looking for new makeup products, when I unknowingly dropped a tissue on the floor. The man working tapped me behind the shoulder and said “there’s a garbage right over there”. This was not in an innocent manner. He was clearly being rude and I responded by saying I wasn’t aware I dropped anything and I was sorry. He proceeded to roll his eyes and throw the tissue away. Working in customer service myself, that is not how any customer should be treated, regardless of their actions. I will not be shopping here anymore, and based on other reviews of this employee and this sephora in general, neither will others. Maybe be more selective of employees in the future.
This was my second time at Plattsburghs Sephora. I had low expectations. Both times I was treated with respect and given knowledgeable advice by employees who were approachable. Alyssa assisted me with exactly what I was looking for. I did make a couple of purchases, but on items I was still unsure of she provided me with samples to take home. They have awesome designer fragrances to choose from for both men and women. I recommend this establishment to any skeptic. This is a great alternative to having to travel to Montreal for my cosmetic needs.
I brought my daughters to sephora to get a mini make over for their eyes. I have 3 daughters 13, 15, and 16. They were so excited. When we arrived the woman at the counter looked overwhelmed at the thought of doing eyeshadow x 3. The staff explained that there were only 2 of them on tonight and one of them could only do the makeup. They seemed annoyed that we were there, acting as if we were trying to get something for free. One of the ladies was nice once she got going. The other one was applying makeup in a very hurried, I dont have time for this manner. She had terrible body odor and it was obvious that she hadnt showered today and Im guessing yesterday either. Her hair was dirty. Its not what I would expect from a staff at a high end makeup counter. I was disappointed in our trip. We will go again and hope to get different staff or hope sephora can train these 2 better. Customer service 101- epic fail.
The reason i give one star to this place is because the guy that works there is totally unfit for this place. ( i dont have any issue with men working at sephora because the ones i got helped from burlington,vt are nice and polite and they know what they are talking about).The first time he tried to assistant me(maybe a month or so ago) was when i asked him that I want to purchase a non waterproof black eyeliner. His answer was we dont have anymore, all the companies have only waterproof. Then with an attitude he told me i should go to target. I told him thats weird because so far the companies im buying from (dior,chanel,clinique) they still do have so i figured that sephora has different kind of brands and i mght find what im looking for . Im aware that sephora doesnt carry some of these brands i named earlier but i didnt want to wait and get my stuff online so i figured to visit their store.Two weeks ago, i went back to sephora and the girl there helped me to buy powder and few other things(although i didnt get assistant for at least 20mins because she was the only one and was helping someone else). I asked her if they have a black eyeliner non waterproof. And she gave me one like i wanted.(long lasting non waterproof) i told her and the cashier(when she came back) my experience about last time i went in there. Not sure if they cared though.He need to change his attitude towards to the costumers!Im glad ulta is opening a store soon!
Not gonna lie I love(d) this place. I came here all the time just to swatch things and decide what I want so in the future when I have money, I can get it. Unfortunately for me and Sephora, my friend and I were basically accused of stealing. Not accused but we were told we were always followed around every time we went in because they are suspicious of us. Management targeted me more than my friend. I have never stolen anything and will never steal. But the fact they think I would actually kind of hurts. Was given major attitude about it as well. I appreciate being told but that’s not gonna stop me from taking my business elsewhere. Make sure not to keep your purse in front of you while you shop there, and make sure your purse doesn’t have a pocket on the outside, because that was the main reason why we were targeted. But alas, so long Plattsburgh Sephora. It was fun while it lasted. I don’t appreciate being told I’m suspicious for no other reason than the fact i shop there a lot and our purses are in front of us. Peaceskies.
I’ve been to this Sephora twice and every time I went the staff has failed to greet me and my sister both times we went and never once asked if we needed help while we were in there for almost 1/2hour
