Aaron Hayes is awesome! We needed to sell our boat quickly, and it needed repairs first. We had little hope for selling our boat but Aaron said dont worry, I will get it done. He continued to reassure during the repair and sale process. Aaron not only did the repairs, but he worked tirelessly to get our boat sold. He was able to do the repairs and find a buyer in less than a month!Aaron is prompt and dependable, and is a great communicator. He ALWAYS answers his phone and texts. He is very friendly with a positiveattitude. I would not hesitate to recommend Aaron.CALL AARON HAYES FIRST!

Lazy mechanic in my opinion. I paid him to do a mobile inspection as I was purchasing a boat from out of town. He advised me that the engine was perfect and would outlive me. I purchased the boat and the first time I fired up the engine, I discovered the lower unit was blown. Broker who met him at inspection said he spent 15 min inspecting and never checked the lower unit. When I told mechanic about the issue, his response was “bummer”.*edit*The boat was in the water for your convenience. It sits on a lift which you could have used to do the rest of the inspection. People call marine mechanics for their expertise, and so they don’t get screwed by brokers. The lower was leaking badly and the plug covered in metal shavings.

Aaron was really professional and walked me through everything he was doing for the repair. Super nice guy! His service is centered around convenience. I didnt have to trailer my boat to a repair shop and wait a period of time for repairs; he was able to come to my house and make the repairs on site. His service fee was fair and reasonable. I definitely recommend his service and plan on using him again in the future.

Aaron Hayes is unbelievable! He helped diagnose our bow thruster problem over the phone, agreed to work us in the next day, checked to see if he had spare parts in inventory, and instructed us where to potentially find the spare on our boat, when he learned he did not have the correct part immediately available. He then walked us through how to change the part ourselves, over the phone, so there was no delay in our delivery schedule, as we are moving our new boat from the FL Gulf Coast to the Chesapeake. This involved multiple calls, video sharing and lots of moral support in the evening and early morning while he was driving between service calls. We asked how to pay him and he asked we only share our experience with others. After 30 years of racing sailboats, coastal and ocean cruising, we were completely blown away to be taken care of with such consideration by someone we never met! He came highly recommended from our broker, after the yard where we are docked and the yard where we surveyed the boat could not get to our boat for three weeks! Thank you Aaron! He genuinely provided us with extraordinary and efficient service.

Aaron Hayes is AWESOME! No doubt about it. Arrived on time and got right to it we have an inboard 496 Merc cruiser and its tough trying to find someone down here to service on site.....He s the man. He gave me a list of items to get for a tune up. I ended up returning about $100 worth of things he didnt need to change! When does that ever happen. All in all very pleasant definitely knows his stuff and taught me some things about the boat i didnt even know. He is the goto guy from now on.

I would recommend him to friends and family. His phone number is handy for me at all times. Try him, you wont be disappointed.

Aaron helped me deliver our sailboat. About 45 minutes out we lost our water pump. Took him about 10 minutes to diagnose and fix the problem. I barely had enough time to set the anchor before we were off again. Saved the day!!! Can’t recommend him more highly!Had another engine issue where it started, quit, and then wouldnt turn over at all. We had planned to spend the whole day sailing. Called Aaron and he was able to get to us within an hour! He fixed the problem, taught us how to trouble shoot this particular issue in the future, and we got out sailing for the rest of the day. Awesome service!!!

Long story short and le$$ons learned over my three year Charlotte County PGI boating extravaganza. Until now all my local previous boat mechanic experiences was what I call “shotgun approach” ... I have an engine issue that setting off alarms that put my boat in a limp mode. And the mechanics just keep guessing what part is causing the issue until they (maybe) hope they by luck replace a part that actually stops the issue. Third time was the charm when I ask my original cabin cruiser registered surveyor for an honest and really good mechanic. Enter Captain Aaron Hayes of Port Charlotte Marine and Boat repair. He showed up on time and immediately diagnosed the real problem. He not only fixed it quickly he wanted to help teach me some great boating maintenance 101 at same time. The last boat “shot gun” mechanic said I’d have to dry dock and pull the engine$$!!! Aaron changed my water pump, replaced gaskets in my head, put new idler pulley and did complete check up maintenance on both my IO motors and heat exchangers. He let me get the parts to save money. And he did it all with in four hours!!! Aaron was a boat mechanic in Coast Guard for over 20 years. He has almost 3 decades of formal boat mechanical experience. He’s one of my new best friends now. I’d give him ten stars in I could. Thanks Aaron. Ur the BEST!!
