Absolutely amazing customer service...Kudos to Michael!! have trifocal, lined transitional, detest the tedium in getting new glasses...will now look forward to it. Michael is extremely competent, highly professional that knows how to fit glasses and get lines perfect within literal minutes as opposed to ( most often a 30 minute endeavor for each eye) he was so fast that I was convinced the new glasses were going to have to go back as lines werent going to be aligned...much to my amazement they were 100% perfect. I worked with Michael Birns at the Port Charlotte location. Loved his attitude, his personality and professionalism. You can tell he has been in this field of work for some time. I first worked with Eyeglass world, but after the fact i felt misguided. My vision insurance changed the beginning of this year (was not aware of it and thats on me!), but Eyeglass world still gave me a discount with the old insurance provider. When I realized I called back to confirm the insurance coverage was still good. I asked to check if the new insurance showed. I was told - No you are still covered with (the old insurance). How is this possible??? I guess I got a discount from Eyeglass World!??? The charge of my pair of progressive glasses with (the old insurance) was almost $300. The charge with my current insurance for the same prescription but a better frame was $59.00! I kind of felt taken advantage of. I hope every sales associate (Im one too!) does the right thing for any customer, not just worrying about commission or making a sale. I certainly would have done the right thing and Im going to leave it like that.Thank you Michael Birns for your excellent service!

Instead of going to my local one in Arizona; I decided to stop by while visiting the area and I am sure glad I did. Staff was beyond friendly and the experience was great. I can easily see myself visiting Port Charlotte in the future just to to get my next prescription at this Visionworks!

I didnt get my exam here so I cannot speak for that, but what I can say is this is a great place to get frames and lenses. Large selection and significantly less expensive than at my doctor. Helpful staff as well.

Great Staff. J-Lo was wonderful. She assisted me and my husband with our frames and picking the right ones for our face shape and personalities. She suggested a current promo sale on a frame to create sunglasses that saved us money. She is a great asset to the company. Best eyeglass store ever! Anna spent an hour and a half with me picking out the perfect frames. She also took time to get me the best deal using my insurance. She knew I also wanted to get a pair of sunglasses. So she showed me this fantastic special theyre having right now for $99 with frames polarization and polycarbonate lenses. I got two pair! Excellent customer service. And Anna was so sweet. She even help me adjust my old glasses and made those work like they were supposed to. I will definitely be back again!I went back again the next day to add progressives to my sunglasses and J-Lo was right on it. She did all the measurements like a pro. She said shed worked in the lab for 20 years. She guided me in choosing the best frames for my coloring while still having a variety of different looks. First time using Vision Works and won’t be my last. My first contact was with J-Lo. She was outstanding as she walked me through the process and helped me with purchase. I bought my glasses at a Visionworks store in MA. They broke at the bridge after 11 months when I was in FL. Called the store in Port Charlotte and got a friendly “bring them in”. Arrived, no wait, they checked warranty with the store I bought them while grabbing a new frame off the shelf. They popped my old lenses into the new frame and I was out the door in 10 minutes start to finish. No charge. Great customer service!

UPDATE (see my first rating Buyer Beware below):Visionworks did the right thing due to a manufacturer flaw and not a human flaw. I received new lenses. I did not give 5 stars because when I went in to pick up the new lenses they pulled sunglass lenses, so they had to re-order, and I had to wait longer. Also, another customer was in with her new lenses that were not working to well. The result was the right lens was made incorrectly. Of course they fixed that problem too. I would say, within reason, when a company does the right thing, that service makes their clients come back!Buyer Beware. I hate leaving bad reviews, but in this case I feel I need to say something. I used to love going to Visionworks in Port Charlotte when a certain person was there because she always took care of me. I recently took my eye glasses in to ask about a warranty. I wear progressive lenses and get the works on them. My glasses worked wonderfully until not so long ago one of the lenses (whatever they add to them, scratch resistant, anti-reflective, transitions, etc) started to come off. Also, the transition isnt working as well as when I got them. I walked in, the same lady thats been there forever took a quick look at them while asking me when I bought them. I told her it will be two years the end of June 2019. Well, instead of maybe trying to help with their defective work, she just as quickly put my glasses down and said theres only a one year warranty, if I would have brought them back in a year...Well, they took this long to be defective! I looked at her and said, I understand that, but your workmanship has failed terribly. Nothing we can do. Really!So, buyer beware of places that do not provide really good workmanship nor stand behind their work for something that clearly is their poor product. What a shame.UPDATE...I heard from the Territory Director. They are going to make this right. I will update in a few days when they do.

Great service... My mom broke her glasses so we came in to get new ones.. Diane was very helpful. Not only we got new glasses for my mom, she also help fix the broken one. That way she have something to wear while we wait on the new ones to come. That’s what I called customer service. Thanks Diane. Will come back again!!!

I love this place! I’ve been to a few other “competitors” in port charlotte and this place has been the only eyeglass store to stick with me! My kids are constantly breaking there glasses at school! there’s no worse feeling then not being able to get kids glasses fixed in time for the following day. But thanks to the family atmosphere Visionworks has always had my family’s back with good value and great service thank you guys!

Purchased 2 pairs of glasses at visionworks recently and had a great experience contrary to previous reviews. I was very impressed with the general manager and their customer service. My glasses were broken and I went in with the intention of buying a new pair. The general manager named Diane not only helped me pick out 2 great pairs at a great price, but she also repaired my broken glasses on the spot so I wouldnt be without for the time being. The very next day she called me personally to tell me my new glasses were ready and she personally adjusted each one to my face. Very friendly, professional and courteous. I will repeat business and look forward to getting new glassed for my family as well when the time arrives.

If you’ve been disappointed in the past TRY THEM AGAIN! I was skeptical because of the negative past reviews. but I’ve learned they have an all NEW sales staff. I hope everyone has an enjoyable experience as I did. And do not judge the company based on fired employees!! I’ll be returning here 👍🏽

One of my lenses on one pair of my glasses cracked. I purchased them in willow Grove PA. When i called i spoke with the manager, Christopher Wolcott. I explained my problem He told me he would take care of it A day later he called me and told me he would be mailing my lenses down to the Visionworks in port charlotte FL. I received a call from Port Charlotte the lenses came in. I went o er first thing in the more last week and Richard the manager replaced my lenses and nose pads. Visionworks should be very thankful for the two managers they have at these stores. Friendly, helpful, professional and caring I will be visiting these stores again. I planned to start as a new patient at Visionworks - called, made an appointment, and had my records transferred- making the appointment, the receptionist didnt know what she was doing - had records transferred and found out Visionworks kept faxing my optometrist back saying I wasnt a patient (really? Why didnt they call me, or check their records first) then I called and they wanted to give me a hard time about my insurance (yes, I have insurance, no, a pre-qualification if not necessary). I cancelled my appointment before getting in deeper with these folks - I read the bad reviews, but thought things might have changed over 2 years - believe the reviews and avoid this disorganized business

Came in worked with bryan he did a great job. When you go in ask for him, knew his product and never felt pressure.

I had a horrible experience today at vision works in Port Charlotte. Everything was fine until the nice lady who was helping me went to lunch. Once I had chosen my glasses I needed to check out. I have decent insurance but still like to get the best deal. The gentleman that helped me (Mr. Duley) was rude and acted as if I was an inconvenience to him. He acted as if running my glasses though my insurace a couple different ways was a burden to him. I left vsion works in tears and will NEVER step foot in the establishment again. One should not give patients resistance and make them feel belittled over something so simple. Perhaps Mr. Duley should find a new career that doesnt include working with the public.Also, I should add that the other employees were talking about ither employees who were not working this particular way. I also know more than I should about a women with the last name Garrett that called in and changed some things. Not very private wuth other patients information. May they should do insurance authorizations and prior approvals in an office and not out on the main floor. Where I am employed this is considered a HIPAA violation.
