Lots of items clean store friendly staff great prices.

I shop at Save A Lot often! Its very convenient for me - clean - efficient - reasonably priced - and the staff makes a real effort to be helpful. And some of them are quite pleasant - which is nice - but not all. I eat a lot of veggies and I find their veggies pretty good - considering that its not a full service, upscale supermarket. My only complaint would be that they dont carry fresh Parsley on a regular basis! I mean fresh Parsley is a pretty basic, common ingredient in many dishes so I wish they would carry it in their produce section - which does have cilantro!! They did have fresh dill every once in a while this past summer and I LOVE that! But its very, very rare. They often have one or two unusual items which is kind of fun - such as Dragon Fruit! - which I enjoyed trying - and even fresh Lychee fruit, which is super delicious though I saw that many customers didnt know what it was and so didnt bother trying it. Too bad for them! I find the meats quite good - I have no complaints in that department - though Im no big expert on meats. I do wish they would sell Hebrew National Franks as I would prefer that. I dont generally buy their franks as most have pork in them, which I dont eat. I find their dairy products mostly pretty good. The cottage cheese is delicious and the sour cream is fine. I wish they would carry Breakstones Whipped Butter as that is a very fine product - and also Temptee Whipped Cream Cheese which is much superior to their own brand. Basically I like this store and am pretty happy with the variety that it offers. It carries a lot of Spanish and Italian products and I like that. And I like that they often offer empty cardboard boxes in which to carry out the groceries. However, they often run out of them by the end of the day, which is unfortunate as the paper bags are nowhere near as helpful - they break! All in all Its pretty good for a small-ish, simple, basic, local grocery store. So, thanks a lot Save A Lot - All in all, pretty good job!!

Big, clean, and bright. I always save a lot (pun intended 😜) when I go here.

I like going to this store, they have a few things, that I cannot find in other stores. However, on this visit, there was an incident with a young man, who was apparently on some sort of substance, ambulance was summoned, as were the police who were finally able to subdue him, and get him into the ambulance for treatment. Store personnel were of no assistance. The store being located in Port Jervis, need to have some crisis training, In such situations going forward.

Okay...convenient. The produce often times look like its been kicked around and the shrimp etc. in the open freezer doesnt seem to ever truly be frozen.

Its more expensive than other supermarkets but it good for a quick shop of things you need in a pinch

I stopped to go to the bathroom while passing by the area (emergency) and even though they do not have public restrooms open for customers, one lady allowed me to use the employees bathroom. I found that very kind of her and thanked her a bunch. I also did my part in disinfecting. Did not purchase anything, but Ill agree with the many reviews they have great prices I bet. I did notice they were very well in stock of everything. :)

Great discounts, only thing that stopped me from a 5 star is no cart wipes ever in the entrance

Cleaning up aisle 1. No hot dog rolls. No beefsteak tomatoes. Nearly dated salad mix. Not their best day

Has a lot to be desired. Not very well stock. Its like picking from the bottom of the barrel. Check dates on your items wouldnt trust the meat selection.

This place is disgusting from service to out of date groceries to having the mangers flirtibg with little kids I know over a hundred ppl who have already complained iam taking my complaints and having others do so to the top of chain of Command

The store has an open concept feel. Navigation is nice and well organized. Prices are competitive with their line of products being promoted at a lower price point. The staff is friendly and helpful. Bring your own bags. They do offer cardboard boxes under their packing station after the checkout. *Tip---Try their ice cream in the pail!

The store is nice & close to home. Tho sometimes the cashiers have trouble and take it out on the next customer other than that its a convenient place.

Plenty of free parking in the spacious parking lot. Right near the train, and you can stop in for a snack or beverage before ALL aboard!!🚞🏞. Bring your own sack or bag, or pay a nominal fee for one. Nice clean store with friendly staff.

It was my first time and I will be going back in the future.They have a very nice selection of different items from food to soap.Very clean and nice staff.

I used to shop at save a lot all the time in the old family dollar location but since they moved to the old kamart plaza its more like a warehouse than a grocery store I really dont like the feel and the staff are not so great either

A lot like Aldis, but the food items taste better. The cheese here has more flavor and cheaper than Sargento.

This store is nice. They have alot of cheap items to buy & the store is neat, easy to find items.

The safe a lot had great prices and great selection so I appreciated that this was so centrally located

For what it is, which is more like a Neighborhood Grocery Store, its really a nice bright clean store. The selection of very products is obviously a lot less, but what they have is kept very neat, and the produce quality is second to none in the area not to mention the pricing of that same produce. Unless its a very unique item, shopping for produce theres my first stop. I also must add that there are constantly deals in the meat section, and in the frozen food section, lots of different reasons to frequent this store. Save-A-Lot is definitely my neighborhood store. Okay, I also have to add that the management has always been nothing but super friendly and very helpful, kudos to them!

Great place to go locally when you need a few items. I get their weekly circular in the mail and it features their current sale priced items. Havent gotten anything spoiled like others have reported. Just use common sense and you should be alright.

Well Ive been here a few times now and i think its a very good place to shop and each time Ive received great customer service today i broke a carton of eggs outside and the cashier came out and brought me a fresh carton to the car Ive never seen this anyplace else but you must bring your own bags or you have to buy some inside they dont cost much overall a great place

Had to pick up my sister so I thought that I would take back my soda cans to there all in one machine. Well it needed to be cleaned out because the screen said so. So my sister went and told them. As we was standing there 20 mins passed by than I was getting mad. These two young men decided they was going to have a conversation. Wait for another young man to come hand off his cart with the bags to clean out the machine. Which he had with him standing there. Wat a worst experience.

Smaller selection of items,but good prices and convenient.

Never have the sale items that are advertised in the paper.the quality of their meats suck the absolute worst cuts of beef! They carry only one fresh spice really! Wow . The most basic supermarket you can go to.if youre really poor you can load up on genaric Mac and cheese for 39 cents.

New, clean and awesome prices. Plus, they keep more than one cashier line open!September 2018. This place has gone to hell on a sled. No management involvement, unsafe practices observed...they just don’t care anymore. Watch all the dates on stuff and do not buy any meat there!

Always save your receipts. I got a hard time when I returned their store brand canned whipped cream with a defective nozzle. This morning I opened a brick of cream cheese with a sell by date in June that is SOUR! Getting returned. Do not trust their refrigerators or freezers!

As it was being put in at the buildings.i hear from others how its a real grocery store.real grocery to me....has its own deli section... has its own bakery.has its own fish section. no fish.no deli sections for savealot. bakery section but no fresh bake goods.nobody working fresh bake section. found it odd savealot didnt just move into the great American section.didnt as savealot not a real grocery store.that bring us to what kind of place is port jervis? we have no movie theatre.we have no grocery store.we have no mall.i often get asked is port jervis a town? a city?.savealot best we have. took many years to even get that.grand union.shoprite.great American.price chopper.all real grocery store.savealot is not.......

The store was very clean. Staff pleasant. A few water leaks but clearly marked. My only complaint was that it was freezing in their. The cashiers wore gloves and heavy sweaters to stay warm.

The new save a lot in port jervis has a great selection of groceries in a clean and friendly environment. A huge improvement from the old save a lot.

Very good prices overall. They encourage people to use theyr own bags by selling them ( yes, no bags when you purchase) thats very eco friendly. Only little downside its the variety of products...wich was kind of expected since its a little supermarket for a little town.
