Issues with my moms glasses and charges, and then my dad also went there. His glasses weren’t the right lenses and the lady argued with him saying that was not what he said he wanted, he said “I wanted whatever the doc suggested” and then She mentioned they were a higher price twice when he had already said he didn’t care about the price, he just needed to see. She told him he could just get used to the glasses how they were and to just wear them. Then she said she didn’t know if they would remake them. It’s been a hassle and now all she says is “i will call you tomorrow to see what we can do.” This is terrible customer service. I wouldn’t ever go here.

Been going here for years now and havent had a bad experience. I really like the staff; Nick H- was hilarious bringing humor into a crazy world. Ive had the same doc every time that I get along with. I think they are doing a great job with all the changes of 2020. Keep up the good work!

I was stunned to hear from a friend that this location had negative reviews! My children and I have gone here for years and have never had poor service.Just recently I purchased some prescription sunglasses and was not entirely happy. I felt weird complaining about them but when I voiced my issued to the tech who was helping me, he immediately said lets take a look. Needless to say, I was given a full replacement.During that same appointment I needed a second pair of glasses because of all the screen time my job now requires. The tech was wonderful in helping me find frames that I LOVE and getting me an amazing discount on them.I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this location!! And recommend it to anyone who asks.

I got new glasses a few weeks ago and had trouble with them from day one. As frustrating as that was, I was so impressed by everyone that I worked with at Rx Optical to correct the issue. After at least four sit-downs with the opticians, I finally was able to take my glasses home and wear them. Joni was an absolute miracle worker on my last visit. She was incredibly patient, and worked hard to help me get the best vision out of my glasses. I am so grateful!And Im sorry that I forgot to have my son put the toys back in the bin when I left. I was so excited to see again that I just whipped out of there. oops!

My original review was much longer, but did not reflect my final experience with RX Optical. While I did have some issues that upset me originally, I am happy to say that I am pleased with my overall experience here. This time around I would like to highlight my positive experiences and suggest you give them a try, as Im sure I will in the future. The doctor and initial testing were fantastic. The lady, sad to say I didnt catch her name who administered the first part of my exam was fantastic. Initially I was really dreading the machine that they use to determine what kind of prescription you need, I always hate that part. I was surprised to find that they use a computer aided one and it was over very quickly. I got my glasses and I am very happy with them. The warranty that I was offered cant be beat, especially with the investment I need to make every time I get a pair of glasses. While my glasses took longer to come in than I would have liked, I am now aware that was due to order complications. When I picked up my glasses, the staff was very helpful, made adjustments and told me that if I had any issues to come back in and they would take care of it. As well as calling me to follow up on my original review. I really appreciated the follow up and quality of product that I received. So, if youre looking for a good value and a great pair of glasses, stop in and check them out.

I went in to RX about a year ago. I bought glasses and spent kind of a lot on them, but they have never really fit my face.I had them adjusted once (with an appointment, but still had to wait) and the lady bent the glasses so much the lens popped out.Ive never had issues with glasses fit before, but these glasses literally fall of my face while cleaning, working on projects, doing yard work.I will go somewhere else next time I need glasses...

I had my eyes examined here. The staff and location of the business were both great.The reason why I am only giving them three stars is because for years of going to Optometrists that have their own offices, the service I received seemed underwhelming.If I had to make a comparison, it would be like Great Clips(10 min haircut) vs Your hometown barber(who gives you the works including a shave, wash, haircut, and blowout)It was a quick eye exam, quick meet with the doctor, and then I was sent on my way to pick frames. I had waited longer in the waiting room(10-15min) than it had taken for my whole eye exam. After going to an Optometrist who took at least around an hour for my whole exam, you could see why this seemed a little off.If you like quick service, disregard this review because this is your place to be. I, however, enjoy the thoroughness, thoughtfulness, and time that a franchise cannot offer.

I have gone there for many years, even after trying other places, getting wrong prescriptions (which Rx Optical corrected) & not very good customer service or selections, I ALWAYS return to Rx Optical The best customer service, doctors & technicians around. First time customer because the place Ive been going to for years no longer accepts my insurance. I ordered contacts earlier this week, the guy that helped me was courteous and professional. Hes the only reason I gave you two stars instead of zero. Today I went to pick them up and didnt receive the best service. In fact, I received no service. I stood at the counter for seven minutes ( seven minutes!) and not one employee acknowledged my presence. I guess Ill try again tomorrow. After I get my contacts I will not be visiting this place again.

The people at this location sre apparently not able to order the correct lenses for frames they sold me. They have told me twice they have the right ones in so i drive into the store about a 45 minute drive for them to still be wrong. Really sick of people waisting my time and money

Have been a client there 2007-ish, customer service is bad. Repeated mistakes year after year - the last straw for me is finding out from another branch that the Portage location incorrectly rescheduled my annual exam for a month in the past.I recommend any other branch but this one.The doctors are fine though, nothing wrong with them.

Every year the service seams to go down. The doctors and techs doing the exams do a good job but youll be waiting for a while. The techs seem to do less but somehow take longer. When I asked if I get a cleaning kit after spending a lot of money on numerous pairs of glasses over the last couple years the tech said no unless I buy the $30 warranty. Seems ridiculously rude to charge $15 for a cleaning kit when someone just spent hundreds on new glasses. Probably not going back in the future.

Do. Not. Go here.Above all, they got my prescription wrong. And not just mine, several of my coworkers. And not just one or two, but more than 10 coworkers.The optometrist doesnt care. Isnt thorough. Did not take my vision health concerns seriously. They are just interested in moving numbers.I got incorrect lenses and voiced my concern, and instead of an immediate let us fix it, it was, are you sure? Then I got an exasperated sigh from the optician at the prospect of having to put my old lenses back in my safety glasses.I went to a different optometrist (out of my own pocket) and again explained my concerns of my vision health. They took me seriously and was concerned when I described my issues. I feel like this should be a given.I finally got a correct prescription from the other optometrist. I went back to RX and gave them this prescription. I explained that I didnt want the trial contacts I had ordered or my old lenses that were the incorrect prescription. My new lenses came in two weeks later, and I thought that was the end of it.I was extremely wrong. They never got rid of my old contacts or lenses and have called me SEVEN TIMES. I have called several times and asked they stop calling me and please throw away the lenses and the contacts. A manager is never there when I call. I have considered telling them that they can call my lawyer because at this point its just negligence and harassment.Luxotica (who owns RX and almost every other eye care company) is a terrible company and has ruined good eye care practices. Their monopoly should be abolished. Prices for pieces of glass and some plastic and metal should not exceed more than $20 but weve decided that being charged $400 for a pair of frames is some how acceptable.Stop calling me RX. I dont want your incorrectly prescribed lenses and contacts. I will never do business with you again.

The Doctor and staff lied to me said they were going to order my trial lenses and it should be there in 2 weeks. But in fact it took over 2 months. When I finally got the money to get my frames they told me that they had in the notes that i couldnt have contacts until after I recieve my glasses. I stated that that was a lie that the Doc said that he ordered them 2 months ago when I took my exam. She then continued to explain that the notes said otherwise. Meaning that the other two times that i stopped in and called asking about my trial pair they were lying too my face an saying that they ordered it. I then went on explaining to the staff that I cant work or drive unless I get that trial pair I lost my last contacts. I went immediately up the road to Eyemart got everything that I needed in literally 59 minutes.

I have been to the Portage location twice in the last year. Once for my daughter and once for me. The customer service in this location is not pleasant. They are a bunch of gloom people expect for the technician who does all your pre-eye exam stuff. She was wonderful. I was in for a contact exam and had my prescription change. In my past exams in the Holland Rx Optical they always had me put in a trail pair to test the prescription out before my contacts come in. This location didnt offer that, I had to ask. I have never been to an eye doctor that didnt have my prescription on hand. Not only that but it is going to take 7-10 business for me to get them. I could have order them my self off line and have them in a few days. I am 100% sure I will not be going back to this location!

Absolutely frustrating.!Spoke to a lady on phone. Already had examination, and frames picked out. Asked to pay over phone, so they would be ready when i got there. Well lady took all my debit card information, I said I would be in store within two hours, and i thought we were good to go.Get there about two hours later. And a nice young lady gets my info, and says, yeah these should definitely be ready, and gets up, and goes in back like to get glasses.Well about five minutes later, a middle aged blonde woman comes up to counter.I am told this was lady whom I talked with on phone. She proceeds to tell me how glasses arent even being made yet. She didnt process payment. And had accidentally just shredded all my information!!!All with a very condescending attitude, and tone.By the way. It had been pouring rain all day. And my car is in shop. So had to take a bus and walk, during downpour.Which is also a reason i called ahead. To make sure i wouldnt have to be dealing with weather later than i wanted.Mentioned all this to lady on phone...On top of all that. She let me waste my time and energy to get down there.Knowing there was no reason to come.THEN ACTS LIKE IM THE IDIOT!!!!Thats what RX Optical considers a professional attitude???Very tough situation, then to be treated like that. WOW!!!I have no choice but to stick with this purchase, due to insurance reasons.But I will tell everyone I know, if they have choice, go elsewhere.

I am very disappointed with the service here. I have had contacts for 6 years and this we my first visit with RX due to insurance changes. My new patient exam lasted all of 20 minutes, the Dr. hardly listened to my concerns. Then after a week of waiting for my sample contacts with my new prescription to come in (something I have never had to do before) something is not quite right with the contact in my right eye. Now I have astigmatism in that eye, which I told the Dr., but Im not sure if I have an astigmatism contact because the packaging for my right and left eye were the same. So I call and ask and I am told that they can not give that information out over the phone, Ill need to wait until my follow up appt next week. I repeat to her what she has just said I think that I am wearing the wrong prescription and you are unable to tell me over the phone if this contact is for astigmatism or not? I will need to wait until my appt next week to find out if I have been wearing the wrong prescription She confirms that I have indeed heard her correctly. What in the hell? I would rather pay out of pocket to go back to my old eye Dr and actually get taken care of than return to Rx. Thank, but no thanks.edit:I was contacted by Christy, the manager, who was able to help me determine that my contact is indeed an astigmatism contact and there must be some other issue. They offered to move up my appt to today to help me make things right. I appreciate the effort.

My daughter broke her frames last night, we took her glasses there and the super nice tech there fixed her glasses with spare parts so that i didn’t have to spend $200 on new frames, we are so happy and impressed with customer service 😀

I really like this location and the staff here but the last few times Ive been here to pick up contacts I had to wait for 25 minutes. I get it that there are people there who waited patiently for their consultations...but if you know youre going to be with them for more than ten minutes, can you take 30 seconds to grab my contacts from the back????

Brought in scripts, picked frames before I was greeted - was eventually accepted at a desk, told everything was in place and then when I called two weeks later to check on status, told Tyler never placed the order - woman handling it was professional and nice about it but awful long time time to wait.
