I took my car back in twice after having them replace my alternator. It was dying after about 30min- 1hr driving. Each time I would jump the car or use a jump box on it and it would start fine. Both times they said they couldn’t find any issues. They tested the battery both times and said it tested at 100%. After the second time taking it in. I drove it for about 20 min and it died. I used the jump box and it started fine. I figured it had to be the battery. So next day I went and purchased a battery from Wallmart for $60. Installed it, and car has been running fine ever since. I don’t know if I should go back for any further repairs. Since it took a very semi-knowing non mechanic to figure out it wast a battery issue. And they couldn’t after having it in 2 times.

I have happily gone to Pacific Car Care for years and enjoy the convenience, attention and thoroughness - especially of staff and owner alike and adore Carmen. I will note that a male staff person at the counter in customer service did not wear a mask while I was in the waiting area on 9/28/21. He would put it on briefly if others came in but did not wear a mask the majority of the nearly 2 hours I was present. As a high risk person for COVID and given the mandate and Oregon law this was very troubling. Carmen wore a mask the entire time as did other staff when engaging with the public but it was not consistent and in this era - gives me great pause and concern.

Ken and his crew were outstanding. His knowledge of all types of vehicles and their quality workmanship shows in every aspect of repair. As a service professional myself I know the value of quality work and accurate diagnostic skills. Throwing parts at a problem without understanding how the system works is expensive and just makes for a poor service experience. They are not cheap but value is in the quality and accuracy of the service performed.I wholeheartedly recommend Pacific Car Care!!

Went here to get a tube for the coolant system fixed and a check of the electrical systems. While the repair for the coolant system was adequate, they did not perform an electrical inspection, rather a vehicle inspection. to which they didn’t share any of their findings on paper, in person or through email. low and behold, i ended up having to entirely replace the alternator and bracket hold it (it had been shattered for years prior to me owning it), front rotors and pads, rear brake drums and pads and rear axial brake fluid cover (also seems to have been gone for a long time). all in all it seems that i have spend ~400 dollars here just to have a tube fixed.

I wish I could have found Mike and his team years ago. I’m extremely happy with the superb service I received.

Every step taken was on time, if not earlier than quoted, and I feel like communication was honest and thorough. I spoke with Elmer throughout my service and he obliged all of my questions and walked me through the process. Couldn’t recommend these guys more.

I took a car there recently for a pre-purchase inspection on a used car I was considering buying. It was my first time there and I came away very impressed. Their report on the car was very detailed and the mechanic (sorry, forgot his name) took the time to go over the pros and cons for me to consider. Ultimately it saved me from making a $10k mistake. The price was a little more than a couple other mechanics in the area are charging, but it was money well spent. I wouldnt hesitate to use them again.

I broke my driveshaft, had my car towed to their shop, they called me in the morning with some estimates, got my car finished the very next day. And that ended up being cheaper than their initial quote, they were fast friendly and professional. A few days later, I had a rattle underneath my car oh, and they racked it up for me and even brought me in to show me what was making the noise at no cost. I dont know anything about cars, but I know a lot about customer service and these people nailed it.

Suffice to say I liked this place a lot; I try to find a go-to mechanic in every town and Pacific Car Care is a viable candidate. Ken is definitely a sales guy and definitely seems down to sell you everything including the kitchen sink if you let him, but thats really just an asterisk to the high level of expertise that believe Ken + crew at Pacific Car Care deliver. The way they troubleshot was very logical and straightforward, I respected that a lot. I also appreciated the numerous invitations to come to the garage and look at what they were doing throughout the process. They found the problem with my car fast and genuinely seemed interested and even enthusiastic about unraveling the problem and getting my car back to driving condition. And heres the most important part: the car runs like new now. I have to take it back in soon to make sure everythings up to spec, its an old (but loved) vehicle and was majorly botched by a mobile mechanic, but it drives great and has shown no signs of the (hopefully) previous problem. If I had one a complaint its that they really seemed to roll out the red carpet when I first came in, but when it was time to pay it was very dry; I wanted to receipt structured in a certain way it was like no, we cant really do that. Once again though, I kind of dont care: the car runs great and I have confidence in the work that they did and thats pretty much all that really matters to me at least. Id recommend going here if you have a problem thats a little mysterious, you want to walk away a little smarter about your car, and you dont want any bs when getting it fixed. Prices were about average, its an urban mechanic shop.

Ive been using PCC for over 13+ years, and Ive been taking our 3 vehicles there almost exclusively.We recently replaced brakes on one of our vehicles, and there was a loud grinding noise that developed in less than 2 months. I took the vehicle in three times for brake inspection/replacement. They charged me nothing for parts and labor and covered two replacements under warranty. We ended up using Subaru pads at the end and the noise seems to have abated. Crossing my fingers it fix lasts. PCC has been up-front with me on what theyve completed and what we may need to consider in the future.

Since moving to portland in 2016, I have taken my vehicles to Ken and his crew at Pacific Car Care. Hands down, it remains the best CAR CARE EXPERIENCE I have had. Most recently, I took my 1983 CJ-7 to Ken so he could get it running enough for me to drive around town safely with my kids. In response to the laundry list of things I needed to get done (which i was very well informed of BTW), I gave Ken a small budget to get me hooked up. 2 days later I get a call that my jeep is ready. Upon pickup, my vehicle was not only done a few days earlier than expected, they saved 25% of my financial commitment. The honest alone is staggering! But heres the icing on the cake... I was driving early morning the other day and I was wishing for a heater. The jeep has no doors — rag top only. So I twist the heater control knob to the ON position (which has never worked since Ive owned the Jeep) and the dan thing fired up and produced the most glorious heat I have ever felt. It made my freaking day! I am a happy customer. I could go on and on about my experiences with Pacific Car Care. The bottom line is this, if you want honest service and no b/s, this is your spot. Dont waste your time going to other places. This is your new spot!

Mike and the gang seem to hate working there and it reflects in the work they preform for example they damaged the exterior of my car and did not take responsibility . My family and I have been going here for over twenty years. I trust these guys, and I am the kind of person who, basically, doesnt trust anyone. They tell it like it is. Honest, true integrity, and friendly are just a few ways I would describe this staff. Are there places that cost less money for big jobs? Probably, but saving a little money wouldnt give me the peace of mind that I get from Pacific Car Care. Smaller jobs like oil changes are, quite frankly, cheap. Ive visited Pacific Car Care a couple times now for general maintenance on by 91 LeSabre, and theyve done a great job. Prices are fair, and service times are quite speedy. They provided me with a list of recommended services, with explanations as to why each is important and with transparent pricing. They are not pushy about getting these services done, though, which is appreciated. Will definitely be back again soon.

We bring our cars here for everything. Most recently they replaced our brakes on a vehicle. They completed the project within a day. All good.

My friend recommend this place to me. I brought my vehicle in because of a burning rubber smell. Staff was friendly, helpful, and quick to do the inspection. They couldnt find anything--and then took me back and SHOWED me the vehicle (raised) with a flashlight so that I knew what they were looking for (but didnt see). It was a very positive experience! Our experience at Pacific Car Care made our lack of knowledge and experience with cars a lot less overwhelming and tedious. We brought a used car in for a PPI. They were able to take the car with a little heads up (Id called earlier in the day to see how about their availability) and have it thoroughly examined in in less than two hours. Ken was our point-person and he was very helpful. He spoke with kindness and clarity and offered a whole view of what the car needed and how we could approach our decision. He listened to our questions and answered thoughtfully and with patience. Everyone we encountered working there was friendly and made the experience well worth the money spent. Highly recommend!

Brought my 2004 Camry in for 150,000 service and I asked what they thought about keeping or selling the car. Got very good, honest opinion that it would be best to sell due to rust etc. They recommended against doing the complete service due to that recommendation. Honest guys who do good work. As a vehicle dealer Ive had numerous potential customers choose this shop to do pre-purchase inspections as Im only 1 mile away. This shop is always, ALWAYS, trying to upsell and over recommend services. And when you read there written out recommendations - its all boiler plate, copy and paste upsell stuff that the technician didnt write he just copied and pasted! I had a car brought in there by a customer its a 5 year old car mind you. It came back with 12 pages of costs and fees and services recommended LMAO.🤣. mise well buy a brand new car then 🤷‍♂️. The first thing on there recommendations list is LUBE OIL FILTER NEEDED.I MYSELF JUST CHANGED THE OIL AND FILTER ITS BRAND NEW! RECEIPTS AND ALL. There list of recommendations includes coolant flush, transmission flush, oil and filter, brake fluid flush, new tires new brakes, new Serpentine belt new tensioner,new spark plugs, new everything.on and on for multiple pages 🤷‍♂️. Makes zero sense. As the car was Tooken to Scholls ferry automotive literally 4 days ago by a different customer and all they recommended was new back brake pads and brake fluid !!! How can 2 shops have such drastic differences.????? The upsell is crazy here. Your ruining peoples business trying to sell cars doing this because I make my living just like you do. I can get in to multiple other stories, but dont have the time. definately telling customers you cannot take any cars to pacific auto care and if you dont like it then dont buy the car🤷‍♂️ because Id rather lose a sale and pacific auto care not get 120ish fee for inspection . Then me guaranteed lose a sale and they get paid!

It’s like I have a new car! I went in for service because my car was making a loud noise during idle and wasn’t accelerating. Turns out I must have gone over a pot hole or something because my muffler and connecting parts were damaged. The staff here are really transparent and professional. I got a tour of my car by flashlight and was shown exactly what was going on. They even fixed a dent for me on the spot! Highly recommend them, my car drives and feels so much better! Thank you!! Well the first time I took my car there they were amazing! Ken was great to work with!A few months later I had some additional car issues and decided that I would take it back there because the first experience was great!Boy was I WRONG!!!This time around it was Mike helping me. Everything was fine until it was time to pick up my car and pay for the repair. I was quoted $581 over the phone prior to ordering the parts and doing the actual repair which I agreed to. Once the part was in, I got a call from mike stating that the part came in a kit form he explained to me that that meant he would have to put it together and it would take a little extra time. I said that that was no problem and I would be by the following day to pick it up.When there to pick up the car he had slapped on an additional $105 for the extra time it took to put the part (that they ordered) together. There was NO mention of any additional charge being added to my bill because they ordered the wrong part or didnt get the correct info from whom ever they ordered the part though.They wrote off the additional amount and told me to take my business somewhere else because they didnt need the drama. In which they caused BY LACK OF COMMUNICATION!!!DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID THIS PLACE!

Ive used Pacific Car Care for almost 17 years. They have worked on four different cars of mine during this time, and done excellent work on all of them. I wont say theyve fixed everything perfectly the first time, but on the one or two occasions when the repair hasnt been exactly what I was expecting, they have bent over backwards to make it right. They have great mechanics, and just as important, they have integrity.

December 2016. This place took nearly an hour and a half to complete a simple oil change, refused to honor their own coupon AND failed to do the Free inspection as advertised.I expected to see a surcharge for the synthetic oil but got much worse. Basically, I was charged 3x the initial quote for bare bones, slow work. Ive never paid that much for a simple oil change. Ever. And Ive never been to a car care place that doesnt perform an inspection or even top off the fluids on a customers vehicle! Total disappointment. Im stunned.The details: The official website listed a coupon for Oil change and free inspection: $19.99 with a button that said redeem now. I clicked this button and filled in the form, then clicked submit. They got back to me via email, confirming the time, but less than a week later, when I showed up day of, they told me the time was no good because their mechanic wasnt even on shift at that time.The employees themselves were nice as rice but the work they performed was stunningly bare bones. I left with no clue on the health of my engine oil, coolant, tire pressure, tire longevity. Nothing. A shame since I was hoping to make this my go to place for any future work on my car, but the fact is Ive received better service even from the mainstream places everyone tells you to avoid. Just... Bizarre.PS. Blew a tire just a month later. Couldve been avoided had they done the inspection they promised! There goes $500

Ive been working with Pacific Car Care for almost 20 years and let me tell you... they take better care of my car than I do! When I dont show up after 3000 miles for an oil change, they are not happy with me. When I leave, they give me a list of items that need attention (from windshield wiper changes to new timing belt) and help me prioritize based on cost and age of car. Gee, weve been together through at least 4 cars now. I wouldnt go anywhere else!

PCC told me they couldnt finish the job because of some parts issues, and proceeded to NOT charge me before they could actually put it in alignment. I had an appointment with a shop that I had been going to for years and was given quotes that were too expensive for work, I later was told I did not need. A family member recommended Pacific Car Care. The work that was completed by them was for only what I needed. I appreciated the honesty.

This was the first time that I have used Pacific Car Care Services. I went in to have new brakes installed. They said they would check the brakes first to determine if they needed to be replaced. They called and informed me that I needed new brakes. They also informed me of other services, which I had put off, but agreed to have the services provided. They completed the work in about four hours and the price was reasonable. I will definitely take my car back for all future maintenance.

Great customer service and thorough in their inspection and maintenance work of my car. No loaner vehicles, but conveniently located right next to Enterprise (which offers a discount for Pacific Car Care costumers). The only drawbacks are that the cost of labor was higher than other places and they dont offer a free diagnostic. All in all, I would reccomend this place if youre in a pinch, like I was, and theyre the nearest shop to you.

I have never met a bunch of people that spend so much time to NOT work on a car! Second time there for a quote. All very simple jobs. They wanted nothing to do with any of it.I am thinking that I should talk to the owner about writing service there. These guys are terrible.

They listen actively, answer all of my questions and give me options.

I have been going to Pacific since I moved to Portland. The staff is excellent and my car is in tip-top shape. No B.S. here, the guys tell you whats wrong and what it will take to fix it, even giving advice on cheaper routes. It is nice to go into a place where they know your name.

I have taken my car to Pacific Car Care for several years. They are always polite, friendly and efficient! They answer all of my questions and concerns and give me suggestions on my end of car care! I totally trust them to take care of my car for me!

There was no check engine light on in my car until Pacific Car Care finished working on my car and told me it was ready for pick up. Pacific Care Care then told me it was an additional $300 to fix a sensor that failed while they had custody of my car.The check engine light came on immediately when I drove away after picking up the car. I had to drive back to their shop so they could spend a half an hour diagnosing the issue they created. I was offered no discount for the inconvenience and they took no responsibility for triggering the check engine light. The customer service is awful regardless of the lack of mechanical competence. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS.

I find Pacific Car Care to be trustworthy and attentive to my needs – keeping my car healthy. I never feel over-sold like I have at the big car seller-servicers. Ive been taking my cars there for about 8 years.

We have been taking our family cars to Pacific Car Care for over 20 years. They take appts for service, but have also taken our cars in a wild what are we going to do call and slipped them into the schedule. The entire staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.

After the phone call I just had with this company it tells me they dont know much about cars. I called asking to for an estimate of cost for 90k maintenance on my vehicle. She asked whats the problem with it. I stated there was nothing wrong with my car it just needs its regular maintenance and went on to say what that was per the manual. Well I was then told she cant give me an estimate over the phone they need to look at the car first. Which makes absolutely no sense! You dont need to inspect my car to give me a price on an oil change, brake fluid flush, etc...I would stay far far away from them!

Good guys that work here, seem very knowledgeable, had us back on the road in no time. They checked in with us at every point to go over cost and what was being looked at and repaired. Thanks guys.

Very helpful folks. I have had them do a lot of work on my GMC Envoy. I wouldnt describe them as the cheapest shop around (which is a good thing). I believe them to be trustworthy, very customer-oriented, and very experienced.

The staff and owner where awesome, great prices and they care about the service they provide. Will not take my car any where else.
