We cannot say enough about how important Black Wagon has been for our little homeschool. We are across the country in Missouri and source all of our learning materials from them. With a child psychologist mom these two future leaders have a high bar when it comes to classroom materials. We’ve purchased Women who dare blocks, with information on each daring female on them, letter blocks to help us with site words, monster pencils (because duh), and so much more. Black Wagon gives us the easiest way to support a small business without straining the pocket book. Highly recommend.

A fantastic clothing and item store for children. It was started by a vintage clothing store owner thirteen years ago when she had a child and realized she couldnt find decent styles for their clothing.They have an excellent selection of off beat wear, childrens books and toys. They also support local artists by providing display spaces. Staff are friendly and well informed. There is a small childrens play area. Parking is limited to street but they are on transit routes.

Black Wagon is my fave kids boutique in all of Portland. For the most part, I now exclusively shop here for both my little kiddos and one of the many, many great things about Black Wagon is I know everything is of the highest quality and organic and/or ethically-sourced. My kids are fashionable little cool kids and that’s totally all thanks to Black Wagon! Also, I have recently been getting my gifts from here and they have all been huge hits and unique, plus Black Wagon wrapped and shipped them for me. I really cannot write a review that fully encompasses how much my family and I value and love Black Wagon! And the owner, Carey, is wonderful, super helpful, and a great ally to our community.

What an adorable and perfectly Portland baby boutique. Cant wait to discuss these amazing talking points with our baby as they grow up 💖💖 the staff was very friendly and eager to help and answer our questions and made great recommendations; the shop.was cozy but excellently arranged. Some stores are so much more.This year has been challenging for many people in many ways. Our family is no different. When my grandsons second birthday was upon us, I found myself sick in bed with Covid and not at all happy with the idea of ordering something online. Black Wagon isnt just a childrens store. That day, they acted as my personal shoppers, we were able to easily arrange delivery options and my grandson had wonderful gifts from Yaya and Papa that expressed our love.Some stores are so much more. Black Wagon is a childrens store that delivers love. Thank you. I am a devoted shopper for life.

Found this store while on vacation in Portland. So many great things for Kids you cannot find anywhere else. Ever since, we have been regular customers on their online shop, and they always have amazing finds.

I love shopping small because of owners at Black wagon. I had one question and not only did she answer it, she made me feel like I was speaking to a friend with her genuine responses. I received my purchases fast too, which was an added plus. I am now a forever, HAPPY customer.

This store is so great! They have tons of fun, soft, and fashionable products for a pretty wide variety of ages. If you get the chance to stop into the store definitely do! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about the products they sell.

Incredible selection! The buyer for this store clearly is committed to quality and unique products. I went in looking for gender neutral swim gear for my 6 month old. Although, the selection they had was limited in that area, we left with some delightful, thought provoking books that will feed the little ones mind and soul!

Great for school age kids, some but not a lot for toddlers. Very cute stuff including some clothes and lots of durable, beautiful, open ended play objects.

We love shopping for our nieces and nephews here. A bit pricey but always able to find something fun or cute.

I once went here during a mississippi street fair, and i got two goofy pairs of glasses with faces drawn on them, and cutouts just for your eyeballs to see. some of their stuff is kinda spendy, but those glasses were cheap, and i keep getting great comments on them. once, i was just walking down the street with one of those pairs of glasses on, and some lady started bursting out laughing at me while she was stopped in her car at a stop sign. she said my eyes were great. i was surprised she was confident enough from that distance, to be sure it wasnt my real face, what with my being a total stranger and all.anyway, i also got a little wooden looking-glass/kaleidoscope thing there for my roommate. its good quality....and the staffs pretty friendly, too. the lady gave me a coupon to use next time i shopped there.

I LOVE Black Wagon toys. If you read through my reviews, you might begin to get the impression I am addicted to toy stores. I swear its just because I have kids. Not because I like to play house. Okay, well, I dont *swear* to that but...Anyway! Black Wagon is where celebrities would shop for their kids if celebrities really lived in Portland. On my favorite street, Mississippi Ave., theyre not big and busy like some of my other favorite stores. Rather theyre cozy and small, but really airy and well-laid out. Not packed to the brim (where you cant find anything at all), but not devoid of anything you might want, either! We always find a unique baby or birthday gift at Black Wagon. We almost always find something for ourselves, too. Seriously. A wooden play-grill. WIth little wooden bacon! Duuude!!Their stuff is carefully selected, with a large chunk of it coming from very local sources and artists. They have the most awesome kid-clothes ever. Screen printed onesies and super-soft kid tees with everything from Firetrucks to The Flying Spaghetti Monster and anything in between. This store has it. I got my son some of the replica NY subway trains, and a friend who just moved out here from NY was delighted to see his train on our coffee table- I mean subway station.Black Wagon delights just about everyone I take in there with me. I just bought my friend a board book for her new baby: Baby Nietzsche. Where do you get a book so awesome? Black Wagon.
