Love them! They threw in a couple extra items with my order and made my day! My order got here sooner than I expected. They always have the best and most interesting inventory of self help and DIY books.
The books are unique and inspiring. The zines are even better. And the people seal the deal. They asked if I wanted a cheaper slightly damaged version of a number of the books I was buying, for 20% off!
So good and welcoming!
Great selection you can’t find anywhere else. I sure support these people for hiring someone with special needs. As the mom of an adult son with Autism, job opportunities are few and far between. Your store clerk was friendly enough and efficient. Thanks again Microcosm for your compassion and great selection. I’ll be back.
What great store. They have such an extensive selection of books and zines. Super friendly folks, too. You could easily be there for an afternoon and not feel like youve groked all of their offerings.
The guy who works at this bookstore is absolutely bonkers. It took him 45 minutes to come downstairs, then 30 more minutes of him rifling through his backpack and he STILL wouldnt ring me up. I had to leave. Book selection fabulous, but unfortunately you cant buy anything.
Ive ordered from the catalog before but finally had the opportunity to visit the shop yesterday. Its very cozy, well-organized and well-stocked. The person working was friendly and offered helpful suggestions for related reading material. It was a uniquely positive experience. Thanks for existing, Microcosm.
Amazing place, I love to support independent publishing companies and this is one of the place to visit. They have great choices of zines and other self published books, photo books, comics and guides. If you havent been here you should visit it and be a costumer.
Lovely little shop of zines and publications for all different kinds of interests. Helpful and friendly staff, plenty of stock, and super rad t-shirts.
Stopped by the store today, while out cycling, and wanted to see if they had any good books that I could read over the Labor Day holiday weekend. Well, Ill never know because the guy who was working was an absolute smart ass. I can promise you that Ill never spend my money here. This was my first (& last) visit to this (ugly green) BookStory establishment.
A wonderful local indie publisher! Great selection of books, zines, stickers, patches, and shirts. Always something new and exciting.
Cool little place that offers informational zines with all topics, I like their biking and science minded zines.
Independent publishing at its most unique, definitely a must stop. The shear variety of authentic one of a kind books and magazines, pamphlets,t shirts, buttons, feminist, is awesome!
A female employee wearing glasses sold the goods at high prices. I was offended by the unscrupulous sale.
Friendly staff helps you navigate the many books and zines. Lots of great topics you wont find in a normal book store.
Nathan, the man at the desk, is very informative and helpful.
Some very interesting stuff if youre willing to wade thru piles of t-shirts on the floor and unlabeled unorganized shelves attended by a sullen hooded figure that doesnt speak
Great reads
Support local info!!!!!!
The appearance of the pink and blue one-story building has a great impact. The clerk is unique and you can choose the price and change. Zine and books are placed in the left half of the store, and a large number of T-shirts are placed in the right half.
There are a lot of Zine. Its interesting just to look at the subject matter because its so geeky that it doesnt seem to be on the day of publication. A bookstore that you want to stop by when you come to Portland.
