I noticed the employees do not wash their hands after handling cash and their phones and before touching the food. I dont think I can stomach eating anything here after this. Even if the ham breakfast sandwich tastes good, I dont want to eat something an employee touched with their bare hands after holding cash and playing on their phone. One employee handled cash, then picked up half a raw onion with her bare hands that another employee was slicing for prep just to comment on it at length, then put it back in the pile to be sliced. I admit I was watching her because theyd forgotten the sauce on my breakfast sandwich and her solution to the problem was to ask me to pry the sandwich open myself and shed squirt the sauce on it (grabbing the bottle with her bare dirty hands from the food prep area) so I was looking to see if shed do other gross things with the food.Pretty gross even if the ingredients taste good.
Easy enough street parking. Ordering online is easy and pick up is a breeze since there is a shelf where take out orders are placed. I find that the food is prepared much faster than the online ordering says so check in a little early to avoid letting a warm meal sit too long.Great tasting breakfast sandwiches that are a terrific deal. It’s worth driving in from a nearby neighborhood.
Great breakfast sandwich. I have to mention the little bags that your sandwich comes in. Sandwiches are wrapped in paper, then placed in a short open sack whick makes eating the sandwich a better experience. No ham or egg juice dripping on your hand, just delightful flavor. More places should do this.
Really cute new coffee shop. Lots of spaced out indoor seating and ample outdoor benches. AWESOME gluten free breakfast sandwiches (probably the best I’ve ever had) and pleasantly affordable. Great coffee, and tasty house special beverages. To top it off the staff is super friendly and personable. We’re new to the area and are happy to already have a favorite morning spot.
Excellent sandwiches and rotating Coava drip coffee and lovely outdoor seating. I’ll definitely be back here.
Amazing coffee. Super clean store. Friendly staff. Best coffee in St Johns, maybe Portland.
Great little shop in North Portland serving Coava coffee. Been going there on the regular this past year and they consistently make a very good cappuccino! Highly recommend if you are in the area.
Pretty friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Good quality bread and coffee, but poor quality construction of drinks and sandwiches. The breakfast sandwiches were tasty, but very unfilling and lacking in complex flavor- I could taste the unique ingredients but there was nowhere near enough to call it flavorfull. I ordered a caramel mocha, the largest size was 16oz, and while the coffee itself was high quality, there was no hint of sweetness, chocolate, or caramel. I spent $30 on 2 coffees and 2 breakfast sandwiches, all of which were very disappointing. If they were actually good tasting and filling I wouldnt have minded the price but i was incredibly let down and it was severely overpriced. Its great to have high quality ingredients, but in order to justify the price you have to have good quality execution as well, which they simply didnt have. Its unlikely Ill ever come here again, sadly.
Why did my iced coffee taste like soy sauce
Super good coffee, good house made oat milk, and service is super great! Gabby is super nice and makes great drinks! love this place!
Love their chai and bkfast sandwiches! And that they sell their drinks bulk. And have let me bring my own coffee cup (they use and intermediary pitcher to pour into my cup, so its all Covid safe).
Nice folks. Good coffee and pretty good breakfast options. But I have a request. Can you please make bagel breakfast sandwiches with egg cheese and sausage or bacon? I swear its nearly impossible to find one in St Johns.
This is the best coffee shop I have found in St. John’s. The coffee is super high quality (Coava) and they have Splenda for customers who want something other than stevia and raw. The employees are all super friendly and the shop itself is beautiful.
My favorite!! I’m writing this review after having just finished my coffee and breakfast sandwich and I want to go back for more! Although we’ve only frequented the location in St John’s during covid times, they do a great job with safety protocols and all that, and we’ll continue to get our items to go until things change.
Decent coffee but unfriendly staff. Dont expect conversation... she (brunette) didnt even tell me when my card went through when I tapped it TWICE thinking it hadnt gone through (when she could see on her end that it had).I asked if they had whipped cream for my mocha her response no (I could almost hear her eyes roll). No worries, plenty of other coffee houses for me to give my $5+ mocha money to during a pademic when everyone is eager for business/customers.
Fantastic local coffee shop. Excellent coffee. Breakfast sandwiches and greek yogurt bowls are homemade and the best in St.Johns.
Get ready for tasty coffee and pastries and warm greetings.
Come to the end of the peninsula stay for the great North. :-) they are even open during fire season. I would not blame them if they were closed. We are so lucky to have them out here. This place has the feel of Big Sur and breitenbush and all the special places that are challenged with the ever-changing world in which we live in. Like Paul McCartney for a James Bond movie #LiveandLetDie bikes for the world hey also sang #blackbird
Delicious. Lovely outside seating.
The Cardigan was delicious! Alternative milks available for a reasonable price (50¢/75¢/$1) depending on coffee size.
Espresso shots are tops. Baristas are friendly.
Best coffee in st johns, bfast sandwich for $6
Friendly and kind baristas. They only offer a house made oat milk and Pacific almond, neither of which are good unfortunately. I do wish they had Oatly or a barista soy. The breakfast sandwich is great but please update your ordering hours on food orders. The website and online menu say nothing about a cutoff and I went in at 5:25pm (closing was 6pm) and food orders were already shut down for the day. I couldnt even get a bagel toasted and there were 3 left. We want to support our St. Johns cafes so just write your hours online so we know. Thanks!
Delicious breakfast sandwiches that are made with gluten-free bread. Yum!
The sweetest!!! Generous staff with the most delicious drinks in St. John’s. I love the cardigan, get it if you haven’t tried it. I love that they have cardamon syrup. They make all their syrups in house. That’s special.
My favorite local go-to for a chai or coffee latte. They have yummy breakfast and snack choices, including vegetarian. Their peanut butter drizzled yogurt and granola bowl is my hands-down favorite!
Simply the best cup of coffee around plus great crew and excellent breakfast sandwiches and unique pastries
Pros:* They put the cream cheese on the bagel, so its ready to eat (this is huge and overshadows all other opinions. I wish more places did this like they do in NYC!)* They have oat milk!* Coava coffee, so delicious* People working there were nice* Bright open minimalist space* Awesome logo/branding, I kind of want one of their National-Park-Signage-Inspired-Logo heavy ceramic mugsCons:* I only discovered it because I saw a woman leaving with a coffee cup, the entrance is tucked back if you dont know what you are looking for* It smelled a bit too much like cleaning product, but Im sensitive to that, hopefully it just means they had just cleaned everything* The everything bagel had more fennel than I was mentally prepared for
Great coffee!! Nice shop and very friendly employees! Im grateful to have a local coffee shop with such great coffee.
Great Chai
Clean and cozy, friendly service and good coffee. I also like how their power sockets are easily accessible; its a great place to remote work from. Its a bit small, so space fills up fast.
Sweet spot nestled in St. Johns. Perfect for working on your computer or catching up with friends. Great place to meet people or do some work on your computer. Staff is friendly and eager to to make me a mocha that wasnt on their menu.
Gabby is my favorite barista!
My favorite local coffee shop for my matcha fix. Also their breakfast sandwich is suuuuper delicious!
Last week I walked into the shop and it smelled so amazing! They were making their house made honey cinnamon syrup. The friendly young lady suggested a honey cinnamon latte... yes please.Fast forward to today. More super friendly staff and another latte, this time with my kid. Kid quickly spills his entire cup of milk, friendly staff runs over, cleans up our mess and replaces the milk before I can say boo. Seriously, great coffee with an amazing crew. We will be back!
Good coffee and friendly staff. A minimalist space tucked away on a side street. I found it lacking in coziness, but to each their own.
Great place to hang out with friends or read books. Good coffee (tea) with wonderful customer service. Very friendly and lovely ladies served me with big smile. Thanks
Our go to coffee shop in St. John’s. They are always incredibly friendly and have good music playing inside. I would recommend the Cardigan if you want something fall flavored and delicious, but everything they have is tasty. It’s also dog friendly and they have free treats for your dog!
The coffee is great! I also really like the breakfast sandwich. This is a great place to hang out. 咖啡很好喝,有机会一定要试试看。
Quiet, tucked away, and simple. I really enjoy coming here to study with a cup of coffee before starting my night shift.
If you are in hurry this is not a place for you. I would suggest going there, grabbing a cup of coffee and a book. Take your time.
Very warm and suttle place to have a very good cup of Coffee and chill with your laptop
Great coffee and great service a nice little place to hang out for a bit
Staff is friendly and the drinks and food are good... Its often crowded though now that Annas is closed, so you cant count on finding a table.
Love this place. Cardamom & vanilla lattes are delicious. Friendly staff, cozy space.
Their house made vanilla syrup makes their incredible latte even better. I love it. The home made chimichurri sauce for the breakfast sandwiches makes it one of my favorite places to get breakfast. Everything is delicious.
Over priced for what you get, quality and taste aren’t worth the price. Very expensive coffee shop for the area
Maybe we went when they had a bad bean in rotation or something, but the mocha I had was honestly the worst cup of coffee Ive ever paid for. And to charge almost $6 for it is ridiculous. 2 stars only because the employees were nice and its not their fault.
Best coffee north america. I go pretty much every morning.
Great Chai, oatmilk is made in house. Great vibe.
Great 👍🏽 Place ;) Great 👍🏽 Coffee ☕️ ;) Great 👍🏽 Service ;) Great 👍🏽 PastriesThanks For Your Gratefulness!!! 💥 🦸🏻Dan🧕
Always friendly. Great coffee (coava). Great baristas who understand that to do with great coffee.
The Cardigan coffee was special! Cute little coffee shop with a lovely barista!
Forgot my bfast order. Waited 20min. Drank my coffee. Asked server, had to wait another 10min! It was a bagel! Didnt even comp my coffee. Pretty disappointed to say the least.
Chai tea is good
My favorite coffee in the neighborhood, the maple-sage latte is fantastic. They serve and carry Coava. Very friendly staff. My only suggestion would be to have a cookie option that doesnt have peanuts.
Great pastry selection, delicious coffee, and I love the space. Always a good go to in the neighborhood!
Cool local spot in st. js.
Strong bean for quad shot. Excellent staff.
Hands down, the best espresso or latte that I have found in Portland. Of course I havent tried the all. But this is my every-day go-to for coffee.
Great little coffee house! Pastries from Posies in Kenton. Loved that they have the New York Times available for customers. Good coffee, too!
The staff are so sweet and the drinks are great. Try the spiced cardigan! So good.
Great dispatch of Coava Coffee. Cool vibe but not comfy.
This place is one of my absolute favorites. Simple space, GREAT coffee, friendly people. Couldnt ask for more.
Good pub food, with a NW twist, and great beer!
A nice and quiet coffee shop, with all the usual Portland expectations, just around the corner from downtown St. Johns and away from the bussle of traffic. Air-conditioned, and normally with seats available even though it isnt large. Serves Coava coffee.
Great prices, great coffee, and their home made Chai is delicious. :) They also have two great breakfast items. The yogurt bowl was well aized, healthy and quite tasty.
Open, clean and friendly atmosphere. I had a chai, loved it. Latte art is beautiful. Must try!
They carry Coava coffee!Santa Sofia - Peaberry in bags.Space looks great. My toddler enjoyed a chocolate brioche.
Okay. Cruelty-free milks are upcharged $1 extra for a large drink. Excessive.
I personally love this little shop. Very friendly staff, great coffee (they use coava which is my favorite portland roaster) if ever you are in the area and looking for great coffee than stop by, say hello to the great staff and drink a wonderful cup of coffee.
Awesome coffee and delicious breakfast bagel! It’s a must stop if you’re in the area.
Excellent cappuccino and friendly service. Difficult to access with baby stroller. Millennials will love it, not so great for parents with young kids.
Great espresso and comfortable atmosphere. Way better than the Starbucks nearby
Love this neighborhood coffee shop! Their espresso drinks are all spot on and, if youre feeling up for something a little different, their house made sodas, chai, and syrups are fantastic!
Skilled, friendly baristas. Simple, comfortable space. I measure other coffee shops against this one.
Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere and good coffee.
Beautiful bright space. Love the house-made chai and syrups. Delicious breakfast sandwich, yogurt bowl, and Coava Coffee to boot!
Always a great place. All the baristas know their stuff and can work their LaMarzocco with great skill. They make their own syrups, too.
Nice, neat, clean little coffee shop. Good coffee, pleasant music.
I like their coffee. But ever since the pandemic has started, their payment system has become strange. An employee asks you how much tip you want to pay. The minimum tip on their screen is $1. Thats 25% for a $4 coffee.
Scratch made deliciousness
Always a good place to hang, and the coffee aint bad either:)
Awesome staff, nice atmoshphere, and a million times better than its competitor across the street.
Awesome staff, GF PETUNIAS BAKERY ITEMS available!! Fantastic coffee
Another coffee shop. It is here, absolutely nothing distinctivd.
Great coffee, friendly, quick.
Fun & friendly little cafe with impeccable coffee drinks. Plus breakfast sandwiches.
Weakest iced Americano ever. It came in a nice glass.
No doubt Best coffee in st.johns
A cute little coffee shop, the barista was very nice.
Best chai I came across in St Johns during a recent 3-week visit--they custom make their own blend and its delish!
Excellent lattes and mochas, friendly staff, and free parking on the street
