Great service and delicious coffee! They have 3 different rooms for seating areas inside as well as a whole patio outside downstairs! It looks like a family home was reconstructed into a coffee shop! They also have really cool art hanging around. They have free guest WiFi and outlets all around so a great place to get some work done while enjoying some good coffee!
We always have fun at Vivace the staff and the service is awesome. We had chick Crepe with spinach shows in the picture one of our favourite meals and Coffee with whip cream. We spend at more than an hour every time when we are here the staff really put there heart and effort and love making this place beautiful and wonderful and down town Portland. Hope that helps.
We celebrated my birthday here because my kids love crepes. It is an old Victorian house repurposed into a crepe and coffee bistro offering good wifi and friendly service. Highly recommend the savory crepes... mine had mushrooms, spinach and tomatoes slathered in sour cream. They offer made to order espresso and lattes as well as a nice selection of tea. Four stars because of the wait for our food.
Not really impressed by this coffee shop. We stopped off after nearby lunch and the cappuccino with oat milk wasn’t what you would expect. Stick to the basics here. Maybe their food is good? Any of the local known coffee spots will take care of your coffee. I won’t be going back here for coffee. Slower service despite no line.
This cozy spot is a haven for cafe denizens, specializing in crepes (yummy crepes, that is) and really good coffee. Street-side outdoor seating. (Closed since Covid arrived in PDX.)
Love love love this place. We are regular customers here during weekend brunch. The place is rustic cute, the crepes are generous and delicious and they even have an outdoor seating which is absolutely fabulous when the weather permits. I can even customize my crepe to my hearts desire. This place has a better value for your money than Le Happy.
Been coming here for 10+ years. Relaxing atmosphere, lots of natural light in the front room and lots of options of the menu. The crepes are delicious and the coffee is YUM! it doesn’t hurt things that they have alcohol on the menu as well 🤗
Absolutely Wonderful! The Crepes are delicious! The coffee is always perfect and the staff is super friendly and awesome! I go here every Thursday and they know me and greet me and seem genuinely interested in my well being when I come in! I love it here!
Great place for breakfast - I had an excellent crepe with lemon juice, powdered sugar, and strawberries, the coffee was good and the atmosphere relaxed and pleasant. Will definitely visit again! :-)
Fantastic little coffee shop with bright walls, high ceilings and huge windows. The crepes are amazing. My favorite is the country breakfast crepe.
#20 and #23 were delicious. There are both savory and sweet crepes. The coffee is superb. Good crowd and great service, a must try if youre on 23rd.
Dog friendly outdoor patio. Great service and coffee. I didnt have any of the crepes but there was a very nice variety of sweet and savory options.
This is one of the most cozy coffee shops in all of Portland. It stands out against a Starbucks that is literally across the street, plus another one a few blocks away. The staff is very helpful in helping you choose something if you are not familiar with their menu, and the locals make the ambiance as friendly as can be.
Whether youre in the mood for sweet or savory, this is the spot! Tucked into the neighborhood, this is a cozy place to spend with a significant other.
I dont drink coffee so i cant say anything about that, but i love the crepes. I have been going here since i was a kid and i always enjoy a trip. The ham and cheese and egg crepe is really good. They also have lots of yummy sweet crepes. Sadly not wheelchair accessible by any means. Its in the second floor of a house and there is a large set of stairs getting up to the door.
Crepe hunter. The Batista favorite was a blast. Good job! Delicious and Perfect.
Delicious crepes & coffee! Service has always been friendly & excellent. Gluten-free and non-dairy available. When placing my order, I realized I left my wallet in the car a couple blocks away. When I came back with it, my order was ready and waiting! Thats service, folks. No picture, because I ate it already.Pay-to-park or walk-up. There is a flight of stairs to traverse for entry.
This spot is the perfect date-night hideaway. I felt like I was house sitting for a friend...who happened to have a full service crepe staff in their kitchen at all times!Adorable decor, and delightful crepes, the menu selection is comprehensive. Their crepes are on the thick side- reminding me of the (now defunct) Crepes-a-Go Go chain in Californias American Style crepe. Theyre delicious, though. Buttery and filled with may delicious things. I had the seasonal special: Pumpkin Cheesecake Crepe. It was lovely. Not too sweet (which was great) and really well spiced. It was delicious. I always appreciate handmade whipped cream, which was adorning the top of my crepe. Love.Their savory combinations looked delicious. I was regretting not tasting the pear-mushroom combo.Okay, actually, I was regretting not trying several of their offerings; They need a crepe-flight or two for tastings! :-)
Very yummy cafe! We got a savory and a sweet crepe. They were both so delicious. We had one of their seasonal lattes that was pretty good. They have many milk choices for those that are dairy free!
BEST sweet crepes in the Vancouver/Portland area by far.
I just wanted to say we had great crepes but even more importantly we ha a wonderful experience because of Megan. She was very friendly and helpful and welcoming. My son said even when he was carrying my screaming 2 year old daughter out she looked over with an understanding smile. Good job Vivace for hiring her (oh, and great Latte art:))
AMAZING coffee & crepes, regular day date for the husband and I, not to mention it’s character, make sure to look around and embrace it ✨✨
Ive had coffee from here a couple times and have enjoyed it. The cafe is cute and personable. I ordered food online from today and was disappointed. My savory crepe tasted like it was made from packaged pancake batter. The fillings (ham, mozzarella, and egg) tasted bland and unseasoned. They did make my order quickly, and the breve I ordered is wonderful.
Hands down my favorite coffee shop! Wonderful crepes of both the sweet and savory variety, latté art and friendly staff in a cool location. Great vibe. Of course they have a delicious selection of coffee beverages and also smoothies and tea if coffee isnt your thing.
Always a pleasure! Never had a bad dish here, typically get one of the lighter sweet crepes, like the honey and toasted almond. Coffee isnt that of a specialty coffeehouse, but decent nonetheless, and nice to have along with great food.
Super cozy. My cortado was tasty and the people watching was nice. Friendly barista, warm and quiet ambience. Nice place to go with a book.
I can recommend this place if youre interested in good food only. The crepes were great and the coffee was nice, but the staff was a bit detached and the wait times were long. The building is also fairly up to subjective enjoyment.
Vivace has great crepes both savory and sweet. Its a cozy and quiet spot. They have a great coffee menu as well. I loved the Ham and Cheese Crepe I had!
I have been here about 5-7 times in the last year and just FINALLY decided to leave a review. This place is consistently YUMMY! They have great coffee and their Crepes are amazing! We always end up getting ICE CREAM on our Crepes, even though it doesnt show on the menu, you can ask for it when ordering. If your feeling really bold, try the Spanish Coffee with a Nutella Crepe! AMAZING!!!!!!!
I really like the crepes and the coffee. They have good alcoholic drinks too. It can be a bit noisy and crowded.
Friendly staff. Wonderful food. Delicious smoothies. You should definitely come here. Crepes are fabulous!
Well, it was worth a try. We have a really good crepes place in downtown Vancouver, so we were pretty excited to see a crepes place during our Portland adventures. We gave it a good try. The house it is in is kind of cramped for sitting multiple people. The crepes werent as good as expected and the coffee was just OK. There are definitely better places to eat in the area. It may have been an off day, so maybe give them a chance.
Friendly service, cute location with an outdoor patio and great crepes! Usually pretty quiet, which makes Vivace a nice place to enjoy your food and/or drink with a good book or while getting some work done. I tend to go for their Nutella, banana and toasted almond crepe and chai latte. The crepes are pretty large, so you won’t be leaving hungry!
Ummmm, wow. That was good coffee! I swear, I search long and hard for delicious coffee in this town, and all I find most of the time is boring light roast coffee. What some coffee shops dont understand is, that its not enough for a coffee to simply not taste at all bad. The goal should be to brew a coffee that tastes delicious! The lack of bad flavors is a good start, but you have to shoot for good flavor, not just remain neutral. So, this shop gets a high rating for good coffee, and a nice friendly worker.I just didnt like the table and chairs, and the picture of David Bowie. Whats with the David Bowie worship these days? But they have outdoor seating, and a place to plug in your phone.
I have been to Vivace three times, but only once was I able to actually get in. I will have to give it another shot in the future, but every time we tried to go spontaneously, there would be absolutely no seating. So we would go down to Le Happy instead. When I went, it was an organized event and their food was good. Plus, their staff was friendly and patient with us. I just dont think this place is worth a long wait like we would have had to do to get a seat the previous times we went.
Calling all Aussies in desperate need of a decent coffee - this is the place to come. Strong, tasty and heart-starting-its just like home!
Love this place. Love the staff. Love the drinks and love the food.Love love love, that’s all I can say.
Great sit, snack, and people watch spot. The service here was great. Admittedly I was in for a late coffee, so my expectations for drip coffee were low. The girl at the counter was pumping the coffee into my cup and then paused, poured some into a side cup, then personally sampled it before handing it over to me. She said, you dont want this one. and then proceeded to get a new coffee, fresh and hot for me. Thank you, you awesome girl at the counter! Ensuring customer success for something as easy as a drip coffee is a big one in my book. I wish more did the same.
Vivace is such a hip space, exactly the type of chicness I would come to expect out of a similar cafe in Brooklyn or Portland. I came here for the first time on a Saturday with a close friend who shares my affinity for a good cup of Joe and together we enjoyed delicious soy lattes while we actively hipster-watched, er people-watched. Id definitely come back for more.
Espresso was very good. The out door seating under the big tree was really nice. Our simple food order got mixed up a few times, was fine when we finally got it.
Lattes were standard-good but thats about the only redeeming factor. Maybe it was an off day because most reviews seemed to enjoy the food but our crepes werent very special. Atmosphere was blah. Service was okay - they had us wait outside for a extra 30 seconds prior to 8 oclock even though the door was open. Likely will not be heading back here again.
Cannot recommend this place. They first brought the wrong crepe to our table, then chastised me for cutting into it, as though it were my mistake. I paid $3.50 for a glass mostly full of ice with very little tea in it. Then they charged another dollar just to refill it! I truly dont believe I have ever paid for an iced tea refill anywhere in the country, even New York. Finally, after a long wait, our food came out. My wife had ordered her salad with no crunchy Chinese noodles or nuts on it, but it came with both of those liberally applied. I would have taken it back but with these clowns at the counter I doubt it would have ever gotten made correctly. At least her coffee was fairly decent. My bagel sandwich was good, but if that was a bagel then I must have been eating something else all these years! My girls enjoyed their crepe although the filling was not remotely generous.Im usually fairly forgiving of a restaurant and its wait staff. Mistakes happen. But three strikes and Ill never return. Too many other wonderful places in this city to settle for poor service and nickel-and-dime procedures like this.
Amazing variety of crepes. Sweet & savory. Im getting hungry writing this. Great area too.
They have crepes! Cheap ones, expensive ones, delicious ones with a French(?) guy behind the counter making them. This is essentially a coffee shop, with bagels, coffee, two dining rooms, outdoor seating, and free WiFi all contained within a large converted house.
Super cute place with a lot of area to chat or study and eat your delicious crepe. Me and my 1 year old split the honey and almond crepe and it was simple and delicious.
Favorite coffee shop and crepe spot in Portland. Vivace has a special place in my heart. I have been coming here for banana nutella crepes and lattes for more than a decade, and I love that it has been a constant in this neighborhood.
Great service and fantastic food. Cute spot!
This is a pleasant enough coffee shop. Recommend for a good spot to catch up with a friend.
Excellent crepes and coffee beverages. I stop in here almost every time Im in Portland around breakfast. Staff could be a little nicer but the atmosphere in an old Portland home is cool.
Cute shop, very chill vibes on the 23rd Ave district. Lots of fun stops along the road but this was very good for a cup of coffee and some time to rest the legs before trekking up the rest of the street.
This was our first stop during our weekend in Portland and it was perfect. Had the crepe with raspberry jelly and whipped cream cheese and it was AMAZING. We also had two cortados which were made perfectly. Love the atmosphere also!
Delicious crepes. Very homestyle and nice people.
Cozy, quaint, and extraordinarily welcoming niche of portland. The crepes are outstanding, and the staff are polite. Would recommend to locals and travelers alike!
Nice little bistro, good crepes, good coffee. Enjoyed outdoor seating with our dog. Nice friendly and helpful staff
Super friendly folks and awesome gluten free crepes! What more can you ask for? Must go in Portland!
As a big fan of savory Breton style crepes I would definitely like to recommend this place!
The staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, the foods they use make this place a less the desirable location. The chocolate croissant was lacking in any significant chocolate, the crepes were okay, but the coffee used for the cappuccino was not a dark roast. Sad, because the staff are very nice and could make this place rock.
Its a great place to fulfil your crepe craving. I need to got back and try one of the sweet ones. I really like the layout and feel of the place.
Came asking for a peppermint patty hot chocolate. They charged more than on the board and didnt have the ingredients to make the drink. When I told them it was awful and that they overcharged said he wouldnt give a refund. He winks and smiles to me as if that would make it better. Forget this place $ 10.00 for hot chocolate is not worth it.
Great crepes but I have came on 3 different occasions and they had either randomly closed down earlier or said they already cleaned up the machine and will only make coffee- an hour before closing! Very frustrating when you have come from 25 miles away..
YUM! Have tried everything from the savory breakfast crepes to the sweet dessert crepes, and they are all good, and Huge. Plus the workers are just the right amount of quirky hipster, without the condescending sneer that usually goes along. In a really cute old victorian house with plenty of little rooms so you can find a snug table to tuck into.
This place has the best crepes ever. You can share or eat the whole thing and be full for a long time. Great place to meet for coffee and or happy hour and just enjoy the area and atmosphere.
I had the Nutella crepe because they were out of peanut butter. The crepe was decent, but idk if I would order it again. This seems like a good place to post up and do work.
Excellent service. Great attraction and phenomenal house coffee. Give it a try. You wont leave disappointed. Guaranteed!
Simple lemon curd and strawberry Crepe! Delicious. Learned they offer gluten free crepes. Will be back.
Savory crepes as big as your face. And man, are they good. And if savory isnt the route for you, jam it full of fruit and Nutella. The very friendly, very awesome staff will help you make a selection or leave you alone if you just came in to read/study with a mug of hot coffee.
My favorite coffee shop in Downtown Portland! The coffee is great, depending on what you like, and the crepes are really good, especially their strawberries and Nutella crepes. The workers are friendly and I like that we can sit outside to enjoy our orders!
I usually come in here for a coffee after a float at the Float Shoppe. The staff is friendly and the coffee is good. The space is very charming and welcoming.
Best variety of crepes that I know of in Portland, and theyre huge! Ive been to crepe places in Paris that didnt have the variety that they do here. Very tasty coffee as well. The space can feel a bit cramped as its basically an old house, but that adds a bit to the coziness of it as well. Getting a key to use the bathroom can be a bit awkward though. I usually go here during off-peak times to avoid the crowds.
Delicious coffee and great service! I dont think its Stumptown anymore.
Love this place. Me and my husband found this place randomly. Love to come here and hang out and eat great food. Never been disappointed with anything I have gotten.
Stumptown coffee and crepes on NW 23rd. Its all good.
I came here for my 16th birthday and have been coming here ever since. Vivace always has a low key atmosphere, and friendly staff. They often feature work from local artists, which I just love. More importantly the food is perfect every time. When they say the greens are fresh, they mean fresh, and Ive never had an orange slice askew or a burnt crêpe. Vivace is absolutely one of my favorite places in Portland.
Good crepes both regular and gluten free. Lemon and sugar is delicious! Free WiFi too :)
Neat locale. Person on staff was a bit cold, repeatedly. Coffee was decent.
Pretty cool original hot drinks. Prices are reasonable considering the neighborhood. Also, a nice and quiet environment.
Great coffee wonderful staff. Very eccentric atmosphere.
Very unique cafe. Crepes on crepes on crepes
Coffee is excellent. Food is great. Location is great.
The employees were very nice, but they charge $1.50 for alternative milks which is really insane!
Stopped here on a whim, and had an amazing crepe! Quite a meal. Will definitely be returning to try their other offerings.
My kids favorite, from when they were Tweens until now in their late-20s!
They have amazing crepes! And the coffee is good. Love the ambiance and general vibe as well.
